Yes-I found another great place to go to!!! They are so friendly here and have nice special touches to make your mani/pedi feel worth the extravagance-yet it is priced so reasonably. The ladies are very attentive and I had one of best manicures ever here. The nails were expertly manicured and polished. The pedi comes with a paraffin heel treatment. Soooooo incredibly lucky that this is the closest nail salon to me and that they are actually really good! A wide variety of colors, and they have newer OPI collections. Hooray! $38 isn't exactly a "deal" for a mani/pedi as they market it to be, but I realize living in the city means that you can't compare it to other places. The parafin treatment is great, and I love the backmassage prior to the manicure. They can get busy, esp Mon-Wed during the deal time, so better come early! I felt good about the time and attention that Anna spent on my no chip manicure. There was one unevenly shaped nail that I asked her to reshape. She improved the shape. There are a few barely noticeable bubbles when she finished. Still, I was happy enough with my manicure. When I got home I realized my nails were flexible. I am not sure how this happened--perhaps it was applied a little too thin? I have had many no chip manicures and they are generally a pretty hard coating, hence its ability to not chip. I am waiting to see if my nails break or chip. Hopefully they do not. read more

This is a really good spot for pedicures. Manicures are good too. What's unique about this place to me is their pedi routine. For example, they take a lime slice and sweep it in between your toes to get rid of bacteria. They also put hot paraffin in a small plastic baggie and raise the baggie up to your heels and let it sit to help get rid of dry and/or cracked heels. And the little shoulder massage they give as you wait for nails to dry is actually good! The Nail Headmaster takes his job seriously and makes sure that you are serviced quickly. Usually you go in to mani/pedi place and as soon as you say what you want they say pick a color. While they say that here, they are a bit more attentive and provide really good service. read more

They did a good job on my no chip manicure but the fact that the salon does not use individually sanitized tools is a deal breaker for me. Literally a technician finished doing a manicure on another lady, she dropped the tools in a cup with alcohol or water (who knows) and started doing mine. I would most likely never come back for that one reason. Sanitation is everything. read more

My friend took me here originally and I was all, "Meh, why can't we go somewhere with easier parking and/or in my neighborhood?" Despite my objections, she insisted--and I'm glad she did! $15 for a manicure any day of the week, and my manicures last at least a week (and I'm pretty tough on my hands). I've never really seen the point of manis before, since any other ones I've had tend to chip in a day or two. But $15 for a week, I'm sold! And the paraffin wax is a lovely touch, as well as the heating pad they put around your shoulders during the mani. They have a frequent mani card--buy 8, get 1 free (or 7 to get one free, something like that). I've been here about 4 times now, mostly on busy Saturdays with a friend and without an appt, and they're always friendly and take us right away. I wish I would take advantage of their special. But getting a mani is pointless because of all the acids I use at work so pedis it is. Every time Ive gone in its been busy but never had to wait to get a pedicure because they have so many people on staff. The massage chairs are awesome, they give you a heating pad for your shoulders, they use a very nice scrub all over your feet and legs, complimentary paraffin on your heels AND a shoulder massage for just $30. This was my first time here but it won't be my last! First, they are open on Sundays and accept walk-ins. Second, the price is reasonable and includes tons of "extras". It's $42 for mani/pedi and even less Mon-Wed. I had Dee for my pedi and she had to tackle some seriously callused feet from my 2 week tour of Italy. She did a great job and the pedi included paraffin wax on your heels! It doesn't stop there. I had Erin for my manicure and that included a paraffin wax on your hands AND a neck/shoulder massage. I really wanted this place to work! They have great ideas with the whole paraffin treatments and massages and I can see what they're trying to do with the place but I was so disappointed with my nails. Maybe it was cause I went in on a Saturday and it was really busy but I felt like the technician was so rushed! I got a pedi and a no chip mani. 4 of my nails chipped in less than 2 full days so I called and asked if I could get them fixed which they did but they just painted over them so they ended up looking really chunky and chipped again the next day. read more

I went in earlier this week for a pedicure + full set. I enjoyed the pedicure and she did a lovely job. I liked how she wrapped my heel with plastic with warm water, something new and very relaxing to me. That gets 4.5 stars. The full set with french tips: nothing special and I've had it done better at other salons. Also the nail polish began to slightly chip two days later... NOT HAPPY for the big price I paid. -1 star Now for the shocker, which is partially my fault I should have asked for their prices before hand! But I also didn't think it would be $60 for a full set!!! I've always paid $25/30 for a full set at other salons. They were asking double which seemed ridiculous to me since I received the same treatment. For this reason, I will not be returning for a full set, their prices are too steep for me. -.5 If you have the extra cash to spend and get SLIGHTLY pampered than your average nail joint then this is the place for you. In the meantime I'll stick to the nail salons I know and save myself about $35-40. read more

I wish the service here was more consistent. I was there Friday afternoon and got a no-chip (which I almost never get) that chipped yesterday morning on both of my thumbs. To make matters worse the woman that did my nails complained about them for the entire manicure- my nails were too short, my nail beds weren't even, I should start letting them grow longer and finally she was annoyed that the polish I had was "too thick" and kept making these grimaces while painting them. She was also talking to the other tech so much that she kept forgetting to turn the no chip machine on (it wasn't one that I could turn on by myself). Now I have to go back there to get my nails fixed. I'm super disappointed, I wish they would train them correctly. read more

We had no problem making an appointment for three mani/pedis on a Saturday afternoon. The decor is warm and fun, and I was incredibly happy with Kathy. This was my first trip to Amy's -- I had always gone to Pinky's in the past. And I like Amy's MUCH better. The thing that impressed me the most was how they handled a tiny cuticle cut that started bleeding. Kathy treated it over and over until it stopped bleeding, and the was cognizant of the area when she was using polish remover and applying lotion. And she genuinely apologized. I saw Amy's Nail Gallery on yelp and thought I would give it a try. I could not be happier with my experience. When I entered the salon music was playing and there were no loud tvs and employees talking on their cell phones. When I told the nail technician I had a no chip manicure from another salon that needed to be removed she took the time to properly remove the manicure, gave me a short back massage and put a warm pad around my neck before giving me an amazing manicure. The overall experience and length of time mani's and pedi's last is so far superior, I now have friends who pass by many other nail salons and come to the neighborhood just so they can have an appointment with Nail Gallery. The gals are chatty and friendly and incredibly detailed oriented. Add in the extra parafin dips, back massages, heat wraps and hot stones and I always leave there feeing like I've spent the day at a high end spa. I popped in here today as a walk in for a pedicure. I was able to be taken care of right away. The salon had nice comfortable massage chairs- a huge plus for a nail salon. The staff was also very nice and friendly, and not pushy at all which some staff at nail salons can be at times. The pedicure included a scrub done on my legs and feet, and a parafiin treatment for my heels. There also was a hot stone massage done on my legs. Lastly, I was given a nice mini neck massage while waiting for my nails to dry. Great, comfortable service. I will definitely be going back here, probably next time for a mani/pedi combo. read more

Ummm...I don't do reviews lightly. I also don't believe in hyperbole. But this place is fantastic. I live in the neighborhood and it's not an exaggeration to say I walk past three other places to get my nails done here. Pedicures are great. Regular manis last longer than any I've had done elsewhere. They do some sort of magic middle coat that I makes a regular mani last an entire week. Never before have I had a mani last more than five days. Then I drank the no-chip mani kool-aid. And it's worth it. On rare occasion when my no-chip mani chipped, they eagerly fixed and made it right. (By the way, the I'm convinced my chip had something to do with my nail chemistry. I love this place! We threw our friend a bachelorette party and the evening started here with girls getting manis and pedis. The staff gave us the okay ahead of time to bring margarittas and snacks for our girls to the salon. The staff was SO nice and helpful and very accomidating giving us a table to set up as our bar. We had a blast and the mani and pedi deal was great and looked fabulous on everyone! The massage chairs are high quality and we all loved the parafin wax for the manis. We will all be back here! Best nail salon ever........amy is the owner and super nice. I go there with my 5 yr old daughter and they treat her so well. I love that she can get a mini mani/pedi and even dip her feet in water and pretend like it's a real one for$10 it's great!!! I have been going here for 7 yrs and have been to other nail salons and this is by far the best.....al the little add ons you get for the regular price is great. Neck warmer,massaging pedicure chairs,mint scrub...good leg massage,they even take little platic bags of parafin wax and put them behind your heel to soften up...then for the mani parafin hand wax and a massage at the end is alway's nice too. Oh yea don't forget the mini rock massage on hands and feet, and hot towels!!!! Also you can byob....which is good when you are going with friends. Nail salons are a lot like Taquerias; there's one around every corner and you can always find a really cheap option, but said cheap option will leave a lingering fear that you might just get sick. Don't cheap out; go to Amy's Nail Gallery. Sure it cost a few bucks more than my usual spot, but the attention to detail was so worth it. The ladies (yes, multiple ladies helping you jam your feet back into shoes, take out your keys, etc) are all lovely and so sweet. I could clip, file and paint my nails myself for free, which is what a lot of other bargain nail salons do, but Amy's goes the extra mile with hot paraffin dips, neck massages, and several other little niceties that are much appreciated! This is my go to Nail Salon in Bucktown. I get my nails done once a week, a pedicure once a month. I like to know when I go somewhere that I can walk in w/out an appointment and be out of there in roughly a half hour. This place almost never disappoints and my nails always look great. As soon as you walk in you will be greeted and very rarely will you wait more than 5 mins. In fact, most of the time, you won't wait. This is not to say that they aren't busy because they are very popular. They just ensure they are staffed correctly. You get a parafin dip standard as part of the manicure to start off. Most of them will give you a short shoulder massage as well either before or after the service. They have hot towels after the lotion as well as a hot stone massage on your hands (or legs for pedis). Also, they talk if you want to talk but leave you alone if you just want to sit there and space out, which I generally prefer. Oh, at the price is right here. $15 for a manicure and $35 for both. read more

The reason for 4 stars is it took a really long time and the woman actually forgot to put the shiny top coat on one of my nails. But, they lasted for a full 4 weeks without a single chip!!!! Definitely not a place I would return, the unhygenic tools used on my manicure have left me with a fungal infection on two fingers. The removal of dead skin at the corners of my fingers was horrendous and amatuer at best, the nail clipping is inconsistent with a professional manicure, all the cuticles look like someone chewed on them, and and the buffing that was done was minmal . The less than stellar staff has too much attitude for the below average decor and dated facilities. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more
