Absolutely incredible experience! The Aloo Gobi was hands-down one of the best I've ever had--perfectly seasoned, tender potatoes and cauliflower cooked with rich, authentic spices that really popped with flavor. You can tell it was made fresh with care. Paired with their fluffy, fragrant rice, it was the ultimate comfort meal. The service is perfect and your table is well taken care of. Friendly service! The portions were generous, the presentation was great, and every bite felt like real home-style cooking. If you're craving authentic Indian food done right, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

I ordered the Chicken Korma, samosas, garlic naan bread and extra rice online. When I went to pick it up I had asked if they made sure the extra rice was packed. They didn't and it took a few minutes for them to check the receipt and add it. The extra rice was $2.99 but I also paid extra $0.99 to have it with the chicken korma and it didn't have the rice so it was a little disappointing. It was $32.28 for everything and the portions were kind of small. Aside from the price and missing rice, it was packed well and the food tasted good.

What a great surprise! The food was great, the appetizer was great. The drinks were great, and the the service was great. My friend's son wanted to try chicken tiki masala, so I looked up Indian food. There is not too many Indian food places in Costa mesa but this one looked the most appealing from what I found. It is on the other side of town for me.. I didn't expect much, and was very surprised... It is in a somewhat hidden corner of a strip mall on Harbor and Adams... but worth the search. they immediately served a complementary appetizer like you would get chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant.. It was a nice touch. The tables proper table cloths, nice water, glasses, etc. when the food was served, it came served in very nice what I believe to be copper Bowls... everything just had a nice feel to it. We talked to the owner a bit before we left. He used to manage some Indian restaurants up in Los Angeles for a long time, but has lived in Orange County for many years... I guess he recently purchased this restaurant, and I would highly recommend going to check it out.. I love to see independent restaurant owners making good food in our neighborhoods thriving.. Please go try it out and keep this delicious place thriving as it should. I don't usually take the time to write reviews. This place was definitely a great surprise. I had to share..

Chicken Tikka Masala, Korma, Onion Kulcha

The Indian food here hits the spot!! We tried the chicken korma and chicken tikka masala, and both were phenomenal. Full of flavor and tender, juicy meat. You can also adjust the spice level to suit your taste. The onion kulcha was a delicious, thick naan. Prices are affordable and the staff and owner were super kind. Will be coming back!

Ordered butter chicken and garlic naan from here after coming back from India and graving the dish. It's okay, but the butter chicken isn't authentic. They add too much tomato paste -- the taste is more reminiscent of tikka masala and it lacks depth of flavor. It might be more appropriate to name this tomato-flavored sauce with chicken in it than butter chicken, which shouldn't be so acidic in taste. The curry doesn't have "umami" in it. Unfortunately, the chicken also isn't tender. When I eat it, it feels like this was a white person trying to cook Indian food. Disappointed :(

Bhindi was in a sauce. Yuvk. Not even adequately cooked. Lamb was way too salty. Naan was soggy. I am sure i won't be ordering from these guys ever again. Waste of money and time. read more

Consistently the best Indian Food we've found around Newport/ Costa Mesa. While not on menu they'll even make papadum. Spiciness level is dialed in to what you request and consistent order to order. Flavors are on point. Especially consider the Vindaloo, maybe with a side of raita! Only complaint is having to pay for rice to accompany an entree. read more

An otherwise perfectly good $18 lamb dish completely destroyed by a shameful inattentive dumping of salt. Also, the bindi okra dish was way over cooked. Someone at this restaurant knows something about Indian food but they must be bored or distracted. This was a takeout order from an absolutely empty restaurant. There are better alternatives nearby. read more

Came in at ~8:20 and was in after closing hours and they made no rude gestures to me to leave, which I honestly wouldn't even have been mad about. They stayed very patient and even let us order Naan 5 minutes before closing, which of course I felt bad about, but they assured me it wasn't a problem. I got the Chicken Curry (Medium) and my friend got the same thing but spicy. It exploded with flavor, came out piping hot, and was definitely a good portion for the price. The regular Naan bread was also incredible. Having a bite of the chicken, rice, and naan at the same time was some of the best food I've had in months. The food was a true 10/10 and I am still eager to try a bunch of different things on the menu that sound just as good. Seriously don't understand why this place isn't packed with people everytime I drive by. NOTE: bathroom was also very clean, which says a lot. read more

Always friendly service and fresh made-to-order food nicely presented, prepared and reasonably priced. Nice selection of meat to vegan menu range so everyone can eat a full satisfying meal, not going home hungry. Clearly locally owned so worth every bite on multiple levels. Love this restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the food is really good. I always get the curry with lamb and the samosas with peas. Pro Tip: If you're doing a to-go order, place your order before you get there so it'll be nice and ready when you get there. It'll save you a nice 5 minute read more

Got chicken tikka tandoori and chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka tandoori had good flavor, was accompanied by green peppers and onions. Medium heat, good sized portion, the seasoning was good. The chicken tikka masala had a heavier than normal cinnamon flavor, the sauce was a bit grainy, but the flavor was still good, nice size of chicken, which was tender. Didn't come with rice, which is odd, but it was $.99 to add. Food was ready on time. I'd probably eat there again. read more

Green Chilis has become a staple for my family! We have eaten there several times, and every time the service and quality of food are exemplary. Last night we ordered lamb biryani, spinach paneer, paneer korma, and garlic naan. Everything was cooked to perfection. The lamb biryani was intensely aromatic and the meat was so tender it would melt in your mouth. My boyfriend's favorite is the korma, and he orders it every time. I can't wait to go back! read more

How can this place have 4.5 stars? The food is oily, too creamy and not flavorful at all. After two bites of the malai kofta, I was disgusted by the amount of cream which made the dish so heavy. We also asked for medium spicy and it was not spicy at all and no flavor. The pakoras portion was small and so oily. Not returning there for sure. read more

Really Really good First time here today the wife and I got the tikka marsala with garlic naan and samosas and yuuum to the yum. Inside is set up very nice with table cloths and is very clean. Took a little time to cook but thats good because they are making it to order. Definitely going back and you should check it out. The car smelled like delicious garlic the whole way home, I couldn't handle it. read more

I found this restaurant through a Google search in an attempt to find tasty Indian food near me and I'm SO glad I did! It's phenomenal! I had the chicken tikka masala (medium spice) with rice and garlic naan. It had a the perfect spicy kick to it! And if you love spicy, the HOT one is really yummy too! Absolutely the worst Indian cuisine we have ever had. We have eaten at dozens, if not possibly a hundred Indian restaurants in the US and Europe. This Indian meal was the by far the worst of any experience to date. We ordered togo from Green Chilis a year ago in search of a good Indian restaurant in our area. The food was good then, if not the best we had enjoyed since moving to the area in early 2022. However, something's must have drastically changed. This experience was terrible. Not a dish we ordered was edible, except maybe the basmati. Every dishes was watery like the kitchen was attempting to stretch their ingredients. The potatoes in three of the dishes were barely cooked and difficult to bite into. Some of the breads were acceptable, however one of the naan was also rushed through the cooking process and "dough" like. The raita tasted like cheese that had turned bad. The mint chutney was like a cup of water with a few mint leaves mixed in. I don't know what else to say, other than we will never patronize Green Chilies again. Terrible food! Oh, the vegetable Samosas were actual good, but not par with a $90 dinner for two. read more

I don't even know where to begin with this place. Indian food went from an ethnic style of food I'd never tried before to easily one of my favorites, specifically because of this restaurant. The lunch special (M-F until 3pm) is great value and a perfect amount of food. Not only is their food delicious and mouth watering, but they're extremely hospitable and seem happy to see you enjoying their food. I've gone only a handful of times, but every time I've went to Green Chili's it's been an amazing and delicious experience. I couldn't praise this place more - in fact, they inspired me to write my first ever Yelp review (this one), so keep that in mind. 10/10 read more

Based on 5 stars reviews here, we decided to give this restaurant a try. Omg! The food is delicious. Servers are very nice. The restaurant is clean. We ordered Chicken Masala, chicken curry & garlic naan. The dinner portions are big. We had to ask for to-go containers. I didn't know I can ask for spicy level. First time here did not disappoint! Everything was made fresh to order. Dishes were very flavorful with mild spice, but more spice can be requested. We ordered the Saag (spinach and potato dish) and the chicken tikka masala. The chicken tikka was one of the best I've ever had. The sauce pairs nicely with the fresh crispy garlic naan. My children and I traveled from Iowa, on our last day, we stopped at Green Chillies and it superseded expectations. First the restaurant was very clean and the flavors had so much love. Most importantly, the owners totally catered, and made my children and I feel like distant family. My daughter actually ordered fried rice from the sushi place next door, but ended up eating off of her brother's Tiki Masala chicken. read more

While trying to write a review on them tonight, I noticed that I have already reviewed Tandoori India Cuisine before. It's a very small restaurant and they have a buffet bar station set up at lunch hour. However, you can't help yourself to the buffet. The owner will serve from the buffet bar once you order. They have good deals on their lunch specials. I had the tika masala and it was very good. I requested the garlic naan and that was also very good. The bread was soft and chewy, and I can taste the garlic flavor. Lunch special also comes with a small side of dessert, which i opted out. I do not like the Indian dessert. I've seen it on the Indian buffet all the times but never eaten it. Too sweet for me.

Not just any Indian/Himalayan restaurant, but also a Balti House! Balti is an especially spicy style first made popular in the UK amongst the Indian diaspora. My taste for the style was started by a long closed spot in Hollywood on Sunset. While many Indian restaurants exist, for some reason, Balti is as rare as places with Dosai, perhaps more rare. I chose the house Balti special with basmati and naan, and everything came out as I hoped. The (by request) medium plus heat level was dialed in perfectly. A runny nose is the first indicator of success in my experience. It was so good I ate it all! I also really liked the presentation of the entrée.
