I don't often leave reviews but... I stumbled across this place randomly on Apple Maps and called the restaurant asking a basic question (I don't often eat Indian food). The owner picked up and was incredibly kind, informative, and inviting- so I gave it a try. The food was ridiculously good and service was excellent. The inside was clean but a little outdated. I got a chance to talk more with the owner, Robin, and hearing his story was incredible. He recently took over the restaurant a couple weeks ago and has run several successful Indian restaurants in the past including in Hollywood. I was absolutely floored by how genuine Robin and his staff was. He excitedly talked about wanting to build a community in Costa Mesa and his future plans for the restaurant, including upcoming renovations. There is an intangible at play here, and I believe it is genuine passion. Passion for their food, for their customers, and for fostering a community. Do not rely on old reviews or pictures- new management, new chef, and soon a new remodel. I will be coming back and am excited to see the future of this restaurant. read more

So stupid for not trying this local gem earlier. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Robin, the owner was our server, probably because we decided to eat at 2:30pm. Nevertheless, we were so glad he was, because we got to talk with him. He was helpful with making our decisions on what to order, as everything looks amazing. The Naan bread was some of the best I've ever had and it paired wonderfully with the Butter Chicken. The Paneer Butter Masala was great as well. We kept it safe this time around, but plan to order more adventurous next time...which will be really soon. Give this place a shot, you won't regret it. read more

This food is BEYOND phenomenal. My partner and I have been trying to find Indian food in OC, and this is our new spot! The location was a bit tricky to find because it is tucked in the furthest corner of the Adam's shopping strip, but I am so glad that we were able to find it. Our favorite of the two dishes we ordered was the Butter Chicken, the sauce was so creamy, flavorful, and coated the chicken just right. I would love to come back here and eat with a larger group of friends, this spot is for family style eating--and the prices were fantastic too. My family and I love Green Chilis. The food is delicious and the ambiance is very inviting with friendly service. They are under new management 4 months ago, and we enjoy having them near our home. We are hooked with their chicken tikka masala, samosa (potato & peas), saag (spinach), basmati rice, and garlic naan. I practically ate the tikka masala sauce down to the last drop. This was a good neighborhood indian restaurant. I ordered samosa, lamb korma and hot chai tea. When you come in the restaurant is clean and with white linen tablecloths. I really appreciate the attention to presentation. We got there around 6pm, I saw some pick up of food but no one dining inside. The server was attentive and got our order. But, since he is managing takeout and waiting on dining patrons, he seemed to spend a long period of time in the kitchen. I wanted to add raita to my regular spiced lamb korma, but he was busy in the kitchen. Food was decent, samosa was good. I would definitely be back. read more

Would highly recommend if you're looking for delicious Indian food!!! Went today for the first time and so happy that we did. I usually go to LA to get really good authentic Indian food. I'm so glad I found this gem in OC. This is the best Indian food I've had in OC. That says a lot for me since I love Indian cuisines. While many places taste like similar lunch buffet, Green Chilis adds a little nuance that just elevates the flavor. I can't describe it since each dish is different - it's subtle but noticeable which enhances the flavor. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner. He spent 40 years in Hollywood with his own restaurant and now recently took over management of this place. As he said he doesn't cut corners on ingredients and quality - and it shows. My wife and I love Indian food so we decided to try green Chili's restaurant out. Wow what an amazing surprise being so close to our work here at euro car doctor. The service was excellent, the food came out fast, and the chicken masala was spectacular. They've got a great lunch time menu at an unbelievable price.
