    Esquites ($11 for 1 serving, $16 for 2 servings)

My boyfriend and I decided to grab some food before heading to Summer beach then Watsonville for the 4th of July fireworks. He suggested this Mexican restaurant. I was charmed by the fun, semi-fancy atmosphere. Some of the paintings were funny. I wasn't super hungry, so I ordered some esquites from the small bites section in the menu and a sangria. My boyfriend went for a supreme quesadilla with guac and a Cadillac margarita. The food was good, and our server was incredibly attentive and nice. I did find the sangria a bit questionable, as it tasted more like red wine than the sweet sangria I'm used to. Also, the portions were a bit small for the price, which was a minor drawback. It was interesting to see the maracuya drink here, when I usually see them in Peruvian restaurants. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Came back after over ten years and they now have a vegan burrito that is delicious and filling. The SO got the al pastor torta and it came with a huge salad on the side. Will be back to retry the menu. Food still comes out fast and efficiently.

Loved the happy hour here! The Cadillac Margarita is delicious and not too sweet, and both the Baja and grilled fish tacos feature fresh fish, crispy tortillas, and great portions. The restaurant was crowded and understaffed, but the reception and servers were still incredibly attentive and nice. The space has a super cute patio out back with a cozy feel. Keep in mind the unisex bathroom needs a code. Great food, drinks, and vibes all around!

FOOD was decent. I had a chicken salad of some sort. The chicken was more burnt than I prefer. The bathroom requires a code. Inside is not the nicest ever but the stained glass on the walls were beautiful. Server at the register was cordial.

Solid Mexican food! Cute outdoor patio space (dog friendly) and good service. A classic spot in downtown Los Gatos.

Asked for extra chicken on my green salad. Take a look at the picture for the tiny size (less than 8 small pieces of chicken while charging me additional $7

Had not been to this place in many many years. They have now changed it to sit down only, which doesn't match up for a casual spot like this. The food was just OK. It definitely looked better than it tasted and I ate the whole plate because I was hungry, but it wasn't all that much food. It was nice food nothing special. I really didn't want to pay extra to have to tip, but of course I did. My lunch was about $31 for just a mediocre enchilada plate and a Diet Coke, including tip.

2 Burrito Chipotle (we only ordered 1), Quesadilla Suprema, & breakfast burrito take out. You wont get salsa unless you ask for it.

This is Andale Kitchen, not Andale Restaurant which is across the street. People are checking in and posting pics of the wrong place. Andale Kitchen is tiny with only 5 tables, a kitchen, and no outdoor seating.. If you want to order take-out the Kitchen is the easiest, fastest, & cheapest. If you want to sit down with a group or sit on an outdoor patio then you want to go to the restaurant across the street. We ordered takeout from the Kitchen location and it's okay, not great. They estimated 15 minutes but it was done in 5 so it sat on the counter for a bit before we got there. We ordered the Quesadilla Suprema (only 3 pieces), Burrito Chipotle, & the Breakfast Burrito. My gf said the breakfast burrito was really good. I thought the quesadilla and chipotle burrito were just okay(bland) and needed hot sauce from our fridge for flavor. I put the quesadilla on our comal to brown it & get it crunchy. Nothing came with salsa so be sure to ask for salsa if you want it. Basically our experience was meh... Americanized Mexican food, not our first choice but a lot of people like it. Try it, you might like it too.

Burrito Bowl with Al Pastor meat

My friend and I picked up lunch to go on a Thursday afternoon. It was fairly busy but no wait. The small kitchen restaurant feels too much like a small cafeteria inside. Although they do have some street patio seating. Which I would have opted for vs. the small dining area indoors. But we took ours to the Plaza park across the street. Way better option than anything else. The gentleman at the front taking orders was pleasant and knowledgeable about the recommendations of meats to choose from for my burrito bowl. I chose to go with "Al Pastor", black beans, leafy greens, no rice, Mexican cheese, salsa, jalapeños, and cilantro. My friend chose the crispy steak tacos (order comes with 3). I don't think I'll ever order the burrito bowl again. It was a small serving I side a large plastic bowl. For the price it's not worth it and the meat was so greasy. I could have easily poured out the grease there was so much of it. Since we were at the park, I didn't have anything to pour grease into. My friend said her tacos were ok in flavor and wouldn't order them again. Our meal cost was about $28. Wow! If you want Salsa from their salsa bar, they give you 3 small containers. You're only allowed 3 containers per order. (We ordered together.) Otherwise, they charge for additional containers.

    Here's the guac.

Got an order to go. Guac was brown and smelled. Took back which took some time to return and the woman worker said, "it's fresh, deal with it." Certainly not having a good night. So, just a heads up maybe check the Togo guac.

    Beef Grilled Fajitas
    Eric H.

I ordered takeout here for a Wednesday lunch. I got the Grilled Fajitas with steak and Baja Fish Tacos. The steak in the grilled fajitas were pretty good, tender and a little chewy. It went well with the peppers, onions, and guacamole. The rice and beans on the side weren't anything special. The fish tacos needed some work. The fish itself and the salsa were really good, crunchy fish even after ordering it takeout. However the taco shells and other toppings needed improvement. The shells were too weak and easily ripped. It would have been better if they added a second shell so that it has a better chance of staying together, as most other taco places I've tried so. There was also too much red cabbage on the taco, which was overpowering the taste.

    Chipotle Shrimp Burrito

I've definitely had better..they were pretty quick with making my food but while I was eating, someone was yelling in the back... the chipotle burrito was OK. I prefer my shrimp to be grilled like on a barbecue and my steak to be square cut pieces and not brisket.. I enjoyed the nachos, but the rest was all right. The only thing was that the nachos chips were burnt and I don't prefer my chips to be that way.

We've tried their fish, carnitas, and birria tacos - all of which were amazing, though the birria and fish tacos were the clear standouts. The mango paired with the crispy fish is a true winner & you can't beat the ultimate comfort food of the birria taco. The presentation of the food is also stunning, with dishes served beautifully on black slate plates and mini cast-iron pans. I have to give a special shout-out to the chef: this is officially the only restaurant where I have actually finished the accompanying sides of refried beans and rice. They were absolutely outstanding! If you haven't been to Hercules yet, it is a must-visit. Don't miss out on their great drinks either--the hibiscus margarita is highly recommended!

We started with the queso fundido which was smaller than I expected but very good! For entrees we tried the quesabirria and fish tacos. The birria taco may have been my favorite bite! Delicious!! The enchiladas trio was also well executed. Tried the TJ Caesar Salad, the tamales and the chips and guac. The guac was another star, but the tamales were probably my next favorite bite. I would recommend trying 1 of each of the flavors. All were good and the sweet corn tamale was a surprise hit!! Would definitely come back here again!

He went for a breakfast burrito with chorizo, and I opted for some Huevos rancheros. I also ordered a pineapple Agua Fresca, expecting a bit of tang, but it leaned more on the sweet side, which was still enjoyable. The prices were super reasonable; our whole meal, including my drink, came out to around $36-$40. Plus, they brought out complimentary chips and salsa right away! Their salsa is fantastic, the flavor was just perfect. The restaurant is tucked away in a plaza with plenty of parking. We were seated immediately and given menus. I loved that they had lots of booth seating, which is always a win for me. The vibe is incredibly casual and relaxed; you could practically roll in wearing your PJs. It's definitely a nice, enjoyable, and laid-back spot for a meal.

As always the place was clean, and the staff was friendly, and the food wasn't gross or anything, but it was completely lacking in any flavor. I mean the shredded beef had ZERO spice to it. It used to be just right. The guacamole and pico were also super bland. I mean I am talking I was worried I'd come down with COVID when we left, because nothing tasted seasoned or spicy. (I checked, I was fine and healthy) It was well cooked, the plate was well arranged, it looked like it had been prepared with care, but there just no flavor to it. So I am sad that what used to be the best shredded beef chimichanga, is no longer any good. The prices seemed to have gone up (which I get is just a thing that is happening now, because of you know) but we liked them enough that that would not have stopped us coming back if the food had literally had any spice to it at all. But for what they are charging now, I need the food to taste like what it should.
