They have lots of options like cilantro rice! Just a note, some items do contain butter so if you're allergic to dairy, be warned! Ordered food delivery so this review is only about the food. I had al pastor burrito. The meat quality was poor, lots of gristle and not a good flavor. I added cheese and I thought they forgot it because there was none until the very end was just a solid ball of cheese, kind of gross, couldn't finish it. I hope I don't have an upset stomach later. Came here for lunch on Sunday. The restaurant was right next to the 3D mural, "Siete Punto Uno" painted by John Pugh in 1990, in downtown Los Gatos. With a group of 5 in front of us, there's a short wait. After we placed our orders, we sat at one of the 5 tables inside. There're quite a few tables outdoors as well. The guy at the register would also bring out the drinks and food on paper plates to the tables when they're ready. I checked out this gem while in the area and I must say it was terrific! I had 2 carnitas tacos and they were delicious. The carnitas were cooked perfectly and the salsa were great - just the right amount of spicy. The service was fast and My order was taken quickly. Tried Nina's for the first time yesterday for lunch. I really like the ability to choose from a variety of tortilla types (I had the spinach), pick your beans, rice types, and your choice of two salsas. The tomatillo was fresh and tasty and the chile de arbol was pleasantly creamy and spicy. I used them all up. The burrito supremo (Al pastor meat, black beans, green cilantro rice) was also delicious and the proportions were very good. The burrito wasn't huge/massive, but a good lunch sized portion. I was content without being stuffed. I'd love to come back and try some of the other dishes, as well as the churros with chocolate dipping sauce sounds like a nice indulgence to go for if you can share with friends/family. Like many people, I need to eat more vegetables. Normally, I order a shrimp burrito from Nina's; it's fabulous, but not loaded with vegetables. So I ordered their vegetarian burrito made with cauliflower. Much to my surprise It was beyond fabulous. I'm not entirely sure what they've got in there, but it really is very tasty. The service was excellent. The server asked my preferences for everything which is real nice. My food came out quickly. I ordered a burrito with bean & cheese, rice & guacamole. It was pretty good. Could have used more cheese though. It's not as humongous as some burritos but more than plenty for me. The filling was coming out at the end, minor gripe I know, but I don't like when my burritos are so loosely assembled that the filling falls out. The chips & salsa were delicious! (About $3) I believe they make them in house. It's small inside & pretty cold since the door is open but it'll be nice to come back on the warmer months when you can sit outside on the patio. The tacos were served in a taco tray on a plate with rice and beans. The beans were delicious!! The crunchy taco shell was not good. I would definitely get the corn or flour tortillas for the tacos next time. They also serve fruit waters, and had cantaloupe the day I was there. It was super tasty, some of the best I've had in this area! The restaurant is on the smaller side with about 6 tables, however the space is clean and comfortable. The service is very friendly, you order at the front and they serve the plates to our table. The location is close to the Los Gatos High School, so on a weekday, there could be a younger crowd. 3.95 street tacos!!!! Delicious! I tried the chicken street tacos and a burrito bowl. The orange sauce was a good addition to the tacos and bowl. Something good that stood out to me is that the food was not as greasy and guilty as other places like la Vic. This is the cleaner eating you want after the gym. After the midnight hour I usually go for greasier foods when Taco Bell and la Vic come in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Side note, I don't remember the last time I walked into a restroom and thought, "damn this place smells amazing" then took a big whiff of the air. Four of us visited this restaurant -- hoping for a low-key lunch and to escape the 100+ temperature during the heat wave. It's a relatively small restaurant with maybe 5 tables for 3-4 per table. The right wall has the menu in multiple panels; you order at the front counter. What's particularly nice is that you can customize your order with different proteins (such as chicken, steak, carnitas), beans (black, pintos, refried), rice (green cilantro, red tomato), etc. You can also add additional ingredients, such as avocado, sour cream, fresh salsa, etc. for an additional charge. I ordered a regular burrito on a bowl ($11.25), with steak, black beans, cilantro rice, and shredded cheese. Taste was good, and the bowl was filling. Value: good. Rating; 4/5, Rated down to '4' only because it was a bit too salty. I also ordered a horchata drink ($4) largely to try something unfamiliar to me, and to hydrate in the scorching temperature. I since learned that it's a Mexican drink made from white rice, sugar, milk, cinnamon, vanilla., and other ingredients. Rating: 4/5. I enjoyed it, but it had too much ice and sugar. My husband ordered a sope, with chicken and refried beans ($12.75) and a Snapple peach tea bottle ($3.50). He, too, ordered the sope to try something new to him. We're since learned that a sope is a traditional Mexican dish consisting of a fried thick corn cake, topped with lettuce. Salsa, cheese, avocado slices, and sour cream. He rated the dish 3/5, stating that it was difficult to eat given the fried base and was quite dry. He only learned later that he should have offered/ordered salsa but he wasn't aware of that. Our son-in-law ordered Mama Nina's salad with birria, lettuce, red cabbage, cucumber, bell peppers, roasted corn, cherry tomato, and roasted pumpkin seeds, tossed in a lime vinaigrette and topped with avocado and cheese ($13.75). (Birria is a Mexican stew made with goat meat adobo, garlic, cumin, and other spices). Our daughter ordered a taco salad, with steak as her protein. ($13.75). The salad also featured a mix of romaine lettuce and baby greens, black beans, cherry tomato, grilled corn, red bell pepper, cilantro, avocado, and corn chips, tossed in s jalapeño dressing and topped with cheese. She also ordered a watermelon aqua fresca ($4) -- watermelon blended with sugar and fresh water. (This was too sweet for her taste). We also ordered a fresh guacamole and chips ($6 95) and a 4 oz fresh salsa (2.75). All of this turned out to be A LOT of fiber-rich food, and we left the restaurant both full and hydrated. Food quality: 4/5 Variety of choices: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5. (One note on temperature. It was 100+ degrees outside, and the air conditioner wasn't keeping up with the rising temp. The restaurant was quite warm but we found some relief by moving to the table closest to the a/c). Value: 4.5/5. Prices good for Los Gatos. How many burritos does a fella have to order from somewhere before he admits that he has a fave burrito spot? I lost count. Nina's is the best. The staff are super nice but for me the secret sauce is all about the refried beans. Too many taco joints nearby only do the whole beans, sometimes with a choice of black or pinto. Nina's has those too, but oh the refried... The Nina's burritos are crave-worthy. I've most often gone for the carnitas with the green rice and of course the refried beans, green salsa, etc but my most recent jam has been the Chile Relleno burrito. So good. Honestly I've never had a burrito or really anything at all here that I didn't love. My wife and daughter order the small size but I go for the Supremo and save what remains as a leftover treat (except with the chile relleno burrito which is only 1 size). Love this place. A small, intimate setting that provides great quality food. I arrived during 11am-12pm and it was relatively slow so I guess I got lucky. Quick service and a pleasant personality behind the counter. Note for those who care, it is mainly street parking that is available so keep that in mind. There's a lot nearby one can park at and it's a short walk to this place.
