My cousin took me to the spot for dinner one night while I was visiting him. I ordered the Red Chili burrito and my girlfriend had the carnitas tacos. Both were absolutely phenomenal! My burrito had the right amount of burn you get from New Mexico chili and the server kept the ice tea coming. It was huge and very filling. My girlfriend's carnitas were also delicious. It was one of the biggest plates of taco meat I had ever seen. It literally could have easily fed two people. The spices were perfect and flour tortillas warm and moist. The only bad thing about this place is it makes me crave New Mexican food and unfortunate there is nothing like it in Vegas. Oh well, looks like another road trip! read more

On our vacation we set Las Cruces as a stopping point on the way home. As I cruised through YELP trying to find the best place to eat my favorite green chili sauce, the places started ticking off as closed. Apparently they roll the streets up early in the Las Cruces area. Arriving at our hotel close to 8 we finally went on the recommendation of the clerk and found Andele. Not a bad looking place and it was crowded for the hour. what a great place. The service was beyond great and the food very good. I have had my share of New Mexico style cooking but have been removed for a few years. My only regret was choosing to have red sauce on one of my items and not going green all the way. I really liked their take on the traditional sauce and find myself trying to copy it at home now. A last note about service. I left my hat there, it was past closing and we were leaving the next day before they opened. I made a call and they offered to drop it off at my hotel. Truly going that extra mile to make a customer happy. Next time through this will be our destination point not just a place we settle with. I can't wait. read more

Andeles is always on my list of places to visit when I come to Las Cruces. I'm a creature of habit and always order the same thing, the green chile chicken enchiladas. They never disappoint. Portions are large, so I always have a doggy bag to eat later (yay)! Their salsa bar is great, with a decent selection of salsas to use for your obligatory pre-meal chips. I've never been disappointed with the service here. If you arrive during prime hours, there tends to be a wait. Wait time is not long at all, however. read more

After eating Mexican food for 5 straight meals in a row, by the time dinner rolled around on my last day in Las Cruces, I about had my fill of enchiladas and tortillas. However, I heard this place was not to be missed so I decided to take one for the team and we head to Andele. It was a Saturday night and the place was packed. During our half hour for a table, we could eye the salsa bar from the entrance and it was looking good - plenty of shades of red and green to satisfy any palette. Once we sat down, we ordered sangria (surprisingly good), got the token basket of tortillas (probably one of the better one's we had while on our trip), and I could dip to my heart's content into all of those salsas. Then came dinner -- we shared what was a huge, delicious pile of pork tacos, and then a plate that had a little bit of everything -- a tamale, an enchilada, and some other stuff. The tacos were hands down the best I had during my trip, and maybe even in all my years of taco-eating. For real. I'd go back just for them again. Tostadas compuestas were perfect! Light but a big enough portion to be filling. My husband had the #1 combination w/chili relleno, taquito, enchilada, and rice & beans. Service was excellent- quick, cheerful, and efficient. Our waitress was attentive without smothering us- the restaurant was very busy as it was a Friday night, but wait time to get in was less than 10 minutes. This was our 2nd time here as we travel through town once a year- we enjoyed this place because of the food and our waitress. One thing I don't like (because it's just me and my husband) is that it's very noisy with lots of kids. Obviously this is a great family-friendly place, but if you're looking for a quiet spot, this won't be it. read more

I'm surprised this place hasn't been reviewed yet. Well, not really. It is one of the best kept secrets in Las Cruces. Across the street is "Andele", a really good Mexican restaurant. Andele's Dog House is simply an extension of Andele and meant to catch the "overflow" of customers from Andele. However, I like Andele's Dog House MORE than I like the regular Andele, and I'll tell you why. At Andele you get great food and service, but you still have to wait on the staff to bring you the chips. At the Dog House you can serve yourself with chips, and you can get a small bucket of them at a time! Combine that with the best salsa in town, and I'm very content to wait on my order because I'm eating great chips and salsa while I wait. Another plus is that the restaurant is much smaller than Andele, so you have a very short walk to the excellent salsa bar. The staff is quite good, male or female. I naturally prefer the female staff because they are usually quite lovely and who doesn't enjoy great scenery in a restaurant? The male staff does a fine job as well, but although I'm a generous tipper, I have to admit I tip pretty women a little better. The restaurant is much smaller than Andele, and far more intimate. I haven't seen any ill effects from the place being small. Actually I think it a plus because the staff has fewer customers to serve and helps with their excellent service. The meals are exactly the same at the Dog House as they are next door. The food is quite good, but I have noticed a slight drop off in quality the last couple years, hence the 4 star rating. I highly recommend the Green Chicken Enchiladas. The tea is usually good, and the rice and beans are top notch. A really good place to eat. read more

Andele was recommended to us by a local that we met while visiting breweries. The service was lacking, the waitress could have been a little friendlier and not greeted me with "what" when I waved at her to get her attention as she walked by for the tenth time. Chile con queso was just ok and the salsas offered weren't that impressive. The tacos that we had at the restaurant were really good and worth going back for, I will say that. But, we took our dessert to go and upon biting in to the apple empanada found a long, thick, black hair. GROSS! We won't be returning. read more

I was driving from Arizona back to Arlington, TX, hit up a friend in Las Cruces for a dinner suggestion since we'd be going through town around 7:30 PM. He sent me the google map link for Andele's and said he'd meet us there. Great location if you are traveling. Exit I-10 at 28, go south about 0.8 miles, turn right at Calle Del Norte and the first right is their parking lot. Pretty busy when we arrived (it was a Saturday night after all) and we happened to get the last parking spot. There was a large group ahead of us waiting for a large table but with just my son and I, plus my friend who was on his way, we were sat quickly. Chips arrived almost immediately and we were directed to the salsa bar not 20 feet away. The salsa verde is excellent and the chile arbol actually had some heat! Unlike most Mexican restaurants these days who say they have hot sauce that really isn't, Andele's has a sauce that has some nice heat without killing the flavor. I ordered the #1 plate since it included the verde stew and a little bit of everything else. Really terrific food and the portion size was perfect. So used to Tex-Mex places in the Dallas area putting so much food on the plate you end up either leaving half of it, taking it home and never eating it, or finishing your plate and then feeling stuffed the next few hours. With another 9 hours of driving to do that night, a huge meal would not have been good. But here, you get a proper sized meal that fills you up without stuffing you uncomfortably. And the taste was a lot better than what I'm used to with Tex-Mex, it wasn't drowning in queso and red sauce so I could actually taste the rest of the ingredients. It was seriously in the top five meals I've had at a Mexican food restaurant. I guess the only bad thing about Andele's is that it isn't in Arlington, TX, and that now every time I drive to Arizona, I have to time it so we hit Las Cruces at lunch or dinner time! read more

Food - 2/5 - Maybe my expectations were too high? I'd been told by a couple of locals that Andele was one of the better restaurants in LC. Of course, each of them started off by stating how good the chips and salsa are. Well, yeah, the chips were very tasty and the salsa bar was quite good too. I just wasn't very impressed by the rest of the menu, including their green chile enchilada (which was undercooked and soupy) or the red chile pork (which seemed a bit dry). Service - 4/5 - No problems with the service. Our waiter was attentive, offered suggestions, and brought our food fairly quickly. I ate here late on a weekday night, though, so I can't say how it is when the place is packed. Atmosphere - 3/5 - For being in Mesilla, I guess I expected something a little more, what's the word, "touristy"? I guess that could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. The interior at Andele is pretty spartan and bland. It gets the job done, but it's not the kind of impressive place you'd take a date either. Andele gets three stars from me. We stumbled upon this place one Sunday. It's in Old Messilla so very touristy and they cater to that. We were seated right away and was informed of the self serve salsa bar. The different salsa was great and so were their house chips. My husband had his unusual hevous rancheros and I had the flatas plate. The food was your typical Tex-Mex and it didn't really stand out put. The service was good. I doubt we will be back as there are a lot more Mexican restaurants in Las Cruces to explore. read more

I'm from AZ and adore Si Senors, so what do I know. But of the 3 places I tried in LC: Did breakfast here, and the waiter kindly let me sample the menudo and pozole, both of which were tasty. The green chile carne & potato burrito was HUGE, topped with a green chili cream sauce (so much cream and bland, I thought I was having bechamel at first). Up to this point, Andele is my number one stop for Mexican in Las Cruces. I know I still have a lot of places to go to, but for now they are in the top spot. Time will tell if they will stay there, but right now I can't recommend a better Mexican restaurant in town. Read on to see why. Service: 5/5 Absolutely spot on every time I have been here. The wait staff is kind, the food is served fast, and the water glasses are kept full. Honestly the last two times I've been here, the food was out so fast we barely had time to enjoy the chips and salsa. Which... is probably a good thing. All those extra calories, you know? :) Food: 5/5 The food is just great. It all starts with the chips and salsa. The chips are served hot and fresh, and they have a salsa bar where you can mix and match different kinds of salsa. I think they have at least five different sauces, plus you can add things like diced jalapenos if you need even more kick. I'm a personal fan of the green tomatillo salsa, but between them all, I'm sure you can find your own favorite. The entrees are also delicious, and they are huge! My wife typically orders an "appetizer" quesadilla as her meal, and last time she had to take half of it home! I'm a big fan of their combination plates. You get a little bit of everything... a taco, an enchilada, some chili, etc. All the food is excellent, which is why I enjoy getting a little bit of everything. And most important to me, it's got some punch. All too often you go to Mexican restaurants and the food tastes like it came straight out of a can. Not so at Andele. It doesn't need to burn your lips off, but it should have some character. And here it does. Overall Impressions: 4/5 The interior of the restaurant does leave a little bit to be desired, I will admit. It is a little too... institutional for my taste. It doesn't really stand out or draw you in. That said, it is perfectly functional. Everything is clean, well lit, and comfortable. Andele is also an excellent value. The prices are very good for the type and quantity of food you are getting. I always feel like I get my money's worth here. So while my quest continues, right now Andele sits at the top of the heap. I headed to Andele's after visiting with some future coworkers and getting a recommendation to head to this place for some authentic New Mexico food. (I was in town on a scouting trip to find an apartment) I asked the waitress what she recommended and she said the Tacos Al Carbon. I got the beef, by the way. Here's what I can say about it - the meat was plentiful and totally 100% dry. From El Paso, was referred to Andele's. The tortilla chips and various sauces were awesome. Had a dude of guacamole which is my standard when I have Mexican food. I don't believe it was fresh or made to order; it had tiny tomatoes like you find from that ready made guacamole you buy at retail grocery stores when you're in a hurry and can't make your own. I ordered the Mexican combo plate with a beef flaunta, chili relleno, and cheese enchilada. The cheese sauce over the enchilada was very bland, not tasting like homemade and the cheese inside the enchilada wasn't even melted! The enchilada was as thin as the tortilla itself; almost absence of a filling. The service was subpar because my server was forgetful with my simple requests. Not what I expected from the recommendations I received. I took a picture, but it doesn't show the issues so I won't post it. Don't think I'll make the drive again for this place. read more

The chips are the best I've ever had. The salsa bar is incredible. And the green chile sauce? Well, let's just say I couldn't quite figure out what the fuss was all about until I sampled this stuff. I love the chile relleno burrito plate smothered in green chile sauce... food coma heaven. They also recently opened a smaller restaurant across the street called "Andele's Dog House" which serves such odd things as Mexican hot dogs and chile con queso burgers (not extremely vegetarian friendly). They also, however, handle all of Andele's to-go orders! They have a drive-through window, so call ahead with your order to 575-526-1271 and then drive through to pick it up. Yum. read more

I used to hate this place. Then they got a new location (and a secondary bar location across the street). Now I love it. The menu is expanded and very good. The staff are attentive and friendly. The price is execeptionally affordable. They can accomodate larger groups (we had 7 and got seated almost instantly). The ambiance is well-suited - not "fine dining" but definitely comfortable and warm and inviting. The only real problem is that it is always so dang crowded. read more

When I go to Mexican restaurants, there are a few things I look for: Salsa quality How they define a "chile relleno" and whether they use white cheese or yellow cheese in their queso. *Didn't get queso, so don't know that one. However, the salsa bar had several fantastic salsas--the tomatillo was my favorite but i especially liked the chipotle salsa--I've never tasted anything like that before. I had the Chile Relleno plate (I think #2) and the chile con carne was SO great. Decent service, good pricing--out the door for 3 adults at lunch for $35 with tip. read more

Best Mexican restaurant in Las Cruces area. Green enchiladas are my absolute favorite. Top them with the grilled chicken and you will not be disappointed or have room for dessert. The salsa bar is fresh and a good variety. Tostadas are made in house and are bottomless. Great stop if visiting Mesilla, way better food than La Posta. read more

Ehh.... I had the steak taco al carbon and it was okay. They do give you an insane amount of steak but it was kind of dry, tough and flavorless. I did enjoy my margarita on the rocks and the out door patio. They had the lamp heater on when it got a bit chilly. Definitely, a very nice place to hang out and have some chips and salsa with some margaritas, as for the food there are definitely better options out there in Las Cruses. read more

Andele just has really good cheap Mexican food on the fly. Service is good and fast. Forget about this place on Sunday thou because its always packed..... Goodluck!!
