My air conditioning unit stopped working last night. My capacitor goes out every few years. I called my regular service provider and they said they could schedule me an appointment in 8 days. I looked on line and found Anderson Heating and A/C had good reviews. They were able to give me an appointment in 3 hours. Marc even came 15 minutes early. He checked the unit and agreed that the capacitor had failed. He found a replacement in his truck. My A/C was up and running in few minutes. There prices were in line with what I had paid in the past. I was very happy with the overall experience and they will now be my regular service provider. Very happy with this company. Back a few years they put a new A/C unit in a home I owned in Carson and I was pleased. This year I was in a tight spot as my home in Reno was closing Escrow and I needed the units inspected and serviced and any repairs done. They were super busy but they were so nice to squeeze me in. Once the inspection was done, I found out the the local company that the buyers hired to inspect the heat and a/c system, was way out of line. They listed many things wrong with the system that were just blown out of line or just not true. They wanted me to hire their guys at $1,400. I refused and called in Anderson as I trust them. Anderson's bill was $160 to install one part and service the units. It is always good to get a second opinion and it paid off. Why would I hire the same guys you inspected the unit to do the work? That makes no sense to me at all. Oh, but the buyers agent was pushing because she hired the company to do the inspection. This is a company that I never heard of before. We had no cool. Called this company and told us we had a bad compressor and shut off the unit complete. They didn't at the least even leave the circulating fan available. They gave a price of around $2,200.00 to fix it. We called another company out for a 2nd opinion. The Technician there found the real problem. He said the starting capacitor was bad for the compressor and the outdoor fan motor was running slow and needed to be replaced as well. They gave us a price of under $650.00 to fix it. It now works well and for a savings of almost $1,600.00. Either they did not know what they were doing or trying to take us for a few extra $$. read more

Anderson Heating and A/C installed an AC system for us summer 2016 and we were so happy with their courtesy and professionalism and of course the great air conditioning in our 1963 built home that when our furnace quit in September of this year, 2017 that we called them to do the furnace. They technicians arrived promptly at 8:30 am and were finished by 1:00 pm. The installer gave us complete instructions regarding the filters, the thermostat and everything that pertained to the furnace, He even went on the roof and inspected the vent to make sure it was open and functioning. He found a wasps nest in it and removed it. The furnace is working perfectly and our house has never felt better with perfect heating in all rooms, plus it is quiet. They installed a Lennox ac and furnace. I trust this company and would call them again if I need any further service. read more

My heater went out when the mornings were in the teens. I called around to all the HVAC companies in Carson but none of them were available for a week. Anderson put me on a waiting list and was able to make time to come out the same day. Their technicion (Mark) was at my home within two (2) hours of my call. He was very through, found the problem and was able fix it within the hour. He also went beyond the repair and did a complete check. The charge for the repair was very resonable and I was very pleased with their professionalism. It's been a month since their visit and my furnace has never been as efficient as it works after their repair. I have been a loyal customer of Anderson Heating & A/C for more than a decade. I had always previously received fast, competent, and friendly service until now. I have never been treated so rudely and received such poor service from any company in Carson City before. Here is my story: My air conditioning stopped working Friday evening (temperatures in the upper 80's). I called on Saturday June 11, 2022, first thing in the morning. I got a call back late in the afternoon around 4 PM. I realized that since it was a weekend that there was probably only one person on call. Hector told me he couldn't come that day, but he would be at my house at 8 am on Sunday. On Sunday by noon, I still hadn't heard from the repair technician on call. When I called the emergency number again, I left another message. He called back at around 1 PM and said he would be there by 3. He arrived at 4 pm and checked out my HVAC system and explained the problem. I agreed to replace my upstairs HVAC with a new system as soon as possible. He told me that Steve would call me the next day with my different choices and the costs involved. I asked if he knew how soon this work could be done, understanding that this would take several hours to complete. He guessed within a week would be possible. On Monday, I had not heard from Anderson regarding estimates or dates for replacement. I called after 11 am, the person I spoke with said she had no idea what I was talking about and that she would have Hector call me. Hector called at about 1:30 pm and again told me that Steve would call me with the estimate. I called again on Tuesday at 11 am as I still had heard nothing from Anderson. I spoke to a woman on the phone and she told me that Steve had many estimates that he was working on and wasn't sure when he would get to mine. I pleaded with her if she could prioritize mine since this AC controlled all of our sleeping areas. She said she could ask to put a priority on them. I thanked her and then asked how soon the installation could possibly happen. She responded by saying that he had a lot of estimates and many "new builds". I asked if there was any consideration for the fact that I had been a loyal customer for more than a decade and that we were desperate as it was quite uncomfortable in this heat. She became upset and told me: "I can't shove other people around just to make room for you!". I responded by saying I was desperate and asked for her understanding. I then said while I waited for her company to get me an estimate, I would call around to see if any other HVAC companies might be able to fit me in sooner. Her response was a very rude: "Well, good luck getting anyone to get it done before mid-July!" I called Roper's Heating and Air Conditioning and they had a technician at my house in less than two hours. I had an estimate by 8:15 am the next morning. They installed my new HVAC on June 24th. By the way, it has been 24 days since Anderson's technician was at my house and I am STILL waiting for an estimate from Anderson. So much for being a loyal customer...FORMER loyal customer. read more

Anderson Heating and Air came out to one of my properties met my tenets father to let him into the house. The father said Dave had a real attitude and gave an estimate of $900. Which had no real explanation of what they were going to do. I talked to Dave on the phone to explain what was going to be done to the air-conditioning because the estimate was lacking in detail it was a three-way call between Dave, my property management company, and myself he said the unit had a leak and also had moisture in the system and that the coils needed to come out be cleaned. So when I met Dave on the job he explained to me he was not going to take the coils out like he told me on the phone but instead he was going to spray them with coil cleaner. He also told me that the moisture from running the unit would clean the coil cleaner off the coils I showed him online where it said they need to be rinsed down. He told me he knew how to do his job and if I was going to be this way his boss told him to leave. Very unprofessional definitely had an attitude, terrible service. Then the owner of the company called me I asked him how he could give a bid for taking the unit out then showing up and changing that to just spraying and cleaning the unit. Then third scenario came from the tech talking to the owner of the company. The tech said he wasn't going to spray it with water when the owner told him to. It says right online that the spray cleaners could damage the coil if it's not rinsed down. Could not believe the tech walked off the job and all I wanted was my unit not to be damaged by leaving cleaner on it. read more

We just bought a house built in 1975 with the original furnace unit and no ac. After a couple days my husband and I decided that we needed to install an ac unit to suppress the inferno that was our house. We called up Anderson Air (recommended by a friend) and Justin, the owner, came out to give us a quote. What I love about this company is that it is family owned and operated. I feel secure that they will continue to take care of us if we have any issues because they seem to really value their clients. Justin was open and honest with us about their products and services and is extremely knowledgable about the trade, (he's definitely more than just a salesman and actually knows what he's talking about). He also encouraged us to shop around and get quotes from other companies -which we did. The salesman from Home Depot gave us a quote for more than twice the amount Anderson Air gave us for basically the same thing. What a hell of a mark up! The install was pretty smooth. We had the furnace replaced and AC unit installed. They even put a vent in the garage for us! The two technicians who came out were very professional and courteous (also dog friendly!). After everything was complete, Justin came over to double check the new system himself. And now after a long hot day, our house is nice and cool! Yay! Being new to this house the technician took the time to explain to me different features on said furnace. He showed me how to change the filter and talked about maintenance. Just had my A/C serviced today by Anderson due to no cold air. TOP NOTCH SERVICE!!! The technician (Jay) showed up early and ready to work. He used several gauges and gadgets to diagnose the problem. The refrigerant was over pressurized and contaminated, as well as their being a restriction in the in-house blower unit. They explained the problems with an old trailer on septic and the new style furnaces, getting me one that worked with what I have and fixing the duct work to work with the new furnace. We were up in the Holbrooke Junction area at our vacation home in late August and our AC was acting up. We called a few local companies who gave us a 2 week time estimate to come out. No bueno! We called Anderson and -- no problem! They came out the next morning and fixed the minor problem and we were back in business. We just bought our home in March and we discussed with the technician that our furnace/AC is 25 years old and likely needed to be replaced soon. The tech said he would arrange for an estimate. We don't live full time here so all arrangements were made by email and phone and with our neighbors help. No problem and smooth. We received the quote and had Anderson do the work (again all arrangement by email and phone) with our neighbor letting the techs in to do the work. My story is the compressor motor located in the outside condenser unit fried up with a hole in it on the hottest day of the year in August 2019 and degassed all the R22 freon as a result. The repair quote to fix was about $2,500 which I was never going to go for on a 17 year old Bryant HVAC system with obsolete and highly expensive R22 freon. Anderson honestly acknowledged the high cost to repair and quoted me $7K on a new Lennox combo unit for heating and cooling. Competitive Reno bids were $10K-$16K - an absolute rip-off by comparison. Owner Justin's proposal was very fair and he is extremely knowledgeable. Travis and Arturo were a professional and friendly install team. Results were a very clean install and haul away of the old unit in less than 5 hours and I'm pleased with the whisper quiet performance and attractive appearance of the Lennox A/C and heat combo unit with 5 ton condenser. I would recommend them highly--- but get your multiple bids, apples to apples, as always and get a little informed people. Anderson provides a full 1 year warranty parts and labor. Lennox tags on a 10 year parts warranty as a very reputable company and there is a new Lennox parts store in Reno so what's not to like. Go with Anderson's unless you enjoy paying more. They deserved all of 5 stars on this job. read more

For me, customer service is everything. If a business does not respect my time, they do not deserve my business. I had a scheduled service call for Monday morning ( 8am to 10am ). A no-show and no phone call prompted my phone call at 10:05am to inquire about my scheduled appointment. I was told the technician was servicing an "emergency call". A legitimate emergency should have prompted a call of explanation and an estimated time of new arrival. It's simple. My time is as valuable as any business or company. If you don't respect my time, you don't deserve my business. I cancelled the service. read more

I will share a recent experiance I had with this company in public outside of a service call. I patiently waited for a parking spot next to one of the Anderson service vans when the driver looked over at me and said "You want to park right f***ing here, huh?" As a local real estate professional and successful commercial and residential property manager I would never refer ANYONE to work with them if that is their "everyday practice". How shameful. With as many friendly, customer service oriented people who are out of work, and with the economy hurting as it is, I will only refer my clients and sphere of influence to the local businesses in Carson that deserve it.
