It's an expensive Italian restaurant in a hotel. I order 1 glass of wine, a salad and lasagna. My bill came to almost $80! The lasagna was good, but for $25 ala carte, I expected to be WOWed. Service was terrible. I got my lasagna, before my salad after a 30 minute wait. I waited 10 min for my wine to be served and waited 20 minutes for the check, after I asked for it. Definitely won't be coming back here. The prices they charge and the quality are a deal breaker. read more

Quite possibly the worst dining experience I've had this year. Arrived on Monday for a 7pm dinner. Being the only person waiting at the receptionist podium for 10 minutes, yet without a host(ess) present to seat me, I grew restless. Finally, I was told by bartender to grab any table because the waitstaff (who clearly could see me waiting) kept walking about. Despite sitting at a table for 20 minutes, no server came by. There was another gent who ended-up walking out at this point, as he'd been fed-up with the poor service. Before following suit, I tried to flag down a waiter, with success. ( I wish she hadn't, and I could've had a better meal elsewhere). Anyways, it took another 15 minutes before she came back to take my order of beet burrata salad and squid ink risotto w/scallops and spinach. I received my salad after 30 minutes. It was a good salad, but it took another 30 minutes of waiting until a waiter returned - at which point it seemed she was going to collect all of my dishes to close me out. I asked where my main was.. Her face was slightly horrified, and then after realizing how much of a goofup she was, she brought it out in only 10 minutes. Her demeanor had changed to indifference, without any apologies whatsoever. The Squid Ink Risotto could have been so much better if it weren't so salty! In fact, the saltiness overpowered the scallops moderately, and the spinach considerably. The risotto itself was completely inedible. After finishing my meal (basically 80% of the volume uneaten), I could almost swear it was another 30 minutes before they came back to ask if I wanted dessert. I didn't want to end-up waiting another eternity, so I asked for the check. it came quickly, but I still had to wait to flag down another waiter for a writing utensil. As i was signing the bill, I found out my waiter messed-up yet again bill by adding a room service charge. I mentioned this error, and she was belligerent, not believing me until I actually had to point it out to her. She picked-up the bill and the pen, and said she'd get it corrected (but it took another 20 minutes). Upon receiving the corrected bill, I realized she forgot the pen (again!). Lots of these little goofs piling-on can cause even the most patient person to crack.. I'll never get back the hours of my life wasted here. I could've hiked a mile down the road for a better restaurant, eaten, returned, and still have saved an hour to get back to my hotel room and finish my work. Instead, I'm writing this review at 1am instead of midnight, hoping this review helps other travelers avoid this miserable place. read more

We stayed at the Hilton for a night and we wanted to stay near our hotel. We ordered: (1) truffle Parmesan fried potatoes - Would not get again. Lack of season and dry. (2) caprese salad - It's a must if you love caprese salad! (2) cioppina - typical seafood (clams, shrimp, scallop, mussels, chopped squid) boiled in tomato broth. The portion is extremely small for $29. If you love seafood and up for something light then you might enjoy this. Customer service - overall friendly. read more

This restaurant located inside the Atlanta Hilton is a great place to eat. I'll give you the run down one by one: Hours: horrible. They're only open m-th 5-10 pm. Food: amazing. Everything is incredibly delicious and they use very good ingredients. Bar: the bartender is the main reason I kept coming back. He's such a nice guy and will allow you to make any changes to any menu item. This was so good. His drinks are always spot on as well. Staff: very good in the restaurant. Not too much with Hilton staff. Menu: very small and limited menu. Again, the bartender will allow you to switch things up. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because of the hours and limited menu options. It's a great place to eat and everyone knows I'll be back again. read more

This Italian restaurant is located inside the Hilton ATL Airport. I stopped in for a glass of wine and a quick bite. The wine pours are very generous (one glass will do). I had the caprese salad which was delicious. I then had the Salmon served with polenta and broccoli. It was pretty good however the polenta was very, very dry. The overall menu offering was just ok. They do not have basic marinara sauce so if you want pasta w sauce, you're out of luck! They were not able to accommodate some of my dietary restrictions so I was limited on what I could order. One advantage to a hotel that's under renovation is that you get a really cheap rate. But having had bad experiences with this type of situation, I have to warn that you'd have to know what you're getting into (think I have a review on this hotel already - I'll update it). The other advantage is that you get freebies. For diamond and gold members, a free appetizer. The first night I was there at their restaurant (not the coffee shop), I sat at the bar while waiting for my wife to get her hair done, and chatted with Thelma. It didn't start off well (not Thelma's fault), but the first THREE wines I wanted by the glass, they didn't have. That's gotta be some kind of record. More on the wine later. Also, they were not close to ready even at 5:15, when they were supposed to open at 5. The bar is expansive, but unusual in not having a TV. I had their antipasto, which this "authentic" place mysteriously called "antipasti" on the menu. If I didn't like Thelma so much I would have messed with her and asked when my plate arrives by asking "Where's my OTHER antipasto?" Their version of this dish (singular, not plural) comprised many, well, authentic delectables: olives, prosciutto, salami, art. heart, grilled vegetables (although the pepper still had the skin on it). I liked it despite the fairly steep price (not as good a value compared to the $10 spent at, say, Terramia here in Altamonte Springs). Since we were going to the Joshua Bell concert, we thought, when my wife joined me, that we might as well eat there. Guess that's one reason those "free" appetizer coupons pay for themselves! Plus, there were some intriguing items on the menu. My wife had the calamari as her free app ($10), as we contemplated our main course. Decided to fore-go the lamb, as we found out it's only half a rack (for $36!!!) The steaks looked intriguing, but we settled on the osso bucco ($32 or $34) and the black truffle cheese ravioli ($26) instead. The former was perfect - fall-off-the-bone tender, with no sacrifice to taste. Very often, lazy cooks will boil this first (like some lazy cooks prepare ribs) instead of properly slow-cooking it. Result is, the flavor is only in the sauce, not on the meat any more. So such problems here, but MAN, it was filling, especially with a creamy risotto as a foundation, and the olive oil used to prepare it, unnecessarily generous. Still I came close to calling for that little spoon with which I can scoop out the marrow. Come to think of it, why didn't they serve the dish WITH the spoon?? The ravioli is not your usual square or round variety, but a hand-wrapped one that had the look and feel of a wonton. There wasn't much evidence of the black truffle being present, but the shrimps that came with it (5 good size ones) were nicely done. We sampled a wine that we weren't familiar with: have YOU heard of a grape called Nero D'Avola? It's a Sicilian red wine grape! Having a couple of glasses of this was an offer we couldn't refuse. I do have a couple of other peeves. First: the menu they have on line is NOT the current one - many items are out by a few bucks, and the selection is different. You know how much this ticks me off. As well, the next night, when my wife had the garlic shrimp appetizer, she was in for a surprise. First of all, show of hands, how many reading "garlic shrimp - $12" on the appetizer menu would assume a hot dish? Yup - that's unanimous. Well you'd be unanimously disappointed, because at Andiamo, that's just code for ... (wait for it) - a shrimp cocktail! The cocktail sauce is there on a ramekin, sitting in the same plate as 5 limp, cold shrimps, which are sitting in a pool of some slightly garlicky oily substance. To be fair, the shrimps weren't limp - quite crunchy actually, But such a disappointing execution and presentation (not even a wedge of lemon or a sprig of parsley). Also, at $12, those were pretty small shrimp. I think even in a pretty fancy restaurant, you can only get away with charging a dozen dollars for 5 shrimps when they are U-15 size. So, yeah - two blemishes against what was otherwise a pretty good dining experience. I find that up-scalish hotels often boast pretty nice kitchens, since they have to keep up the quality of the banquet business, as well as cater to snooty business travelers. But the locals for some reason eschew them for the chain restaurants. So I'm going to use this review as a call to action. Locals: venture out of your comfort zone and andiamo to a restaurant of some chain hotels from time to time, will ya! read more

I'm on the fence on 3 or 4 stars. Nice atmosphere & our waitress was a knockout and very friendly. I wish there were more vegetarian options. They did accommodate my special order. Small overpriced portion though. There was a delay in a hostess arriving to seat is but it all worked out. The pizza from the appetizer menu was really good. read more

I don't know what these peeps are talking about...First of all Daniel is one hell of a bartender making me one of the finest dusty martinis I've ever had. For dinner I had the 1/2 ceasar salad and the spaghetti and meatballs which were off the hook good. Best place in Hapeville for authentic Italian food. Affordable and unique Italian wine list. Atmosphere is throwback Italian which I like. Daniel is one of the more engaging bartenders you'll find anywhere. Definitely a hidden gem. read more

A one may be to generous. This is less than what you would expect from an airport hotel restaurant, which is already setting the bar pretty low. Food is bad, not like "oh I wouldn't have that again bad", but "there's a 90% chance I'm going to be sick from eating this bad". Service is slow and poor. Do yourself a favor and just either a) go hungry or b) take your chances walking to one of the other restaurants nearby. read more
