One of the most disturbing experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Our waitress was very unfriendly. Then when we went to pay we clicked on 18% tip. It would of been 20% but she was unfriendly and rude, there was a mishap with the machine and for some reason the tip showed up as 20 cents. She was very pushy and told us. I would hope your not trying to leave me 20 cents. So with her hovering over us very rudely we gave her all the cash we had on hand because it was not our fault there was a machine error. It was about a 14% tip which to be honest she didn't even deserve. So she chased our grandmother out of the restaurant yelling that we originally wanted to give her 18% and we only gave her 14% and would we like to give her more. I started looking threw my purse while she was making a scene in front of all the customers on the patio. Finally my friend told her we didn't need all the attitude during our meal. She then implied that we received excellent service and she didn't have an attitude. She told us you know this is how I make my living right. At this point I told her I'm not looking for more cash 14% is more then you deserve. She ran inside and yelled I hope to never see you again. This was the worst experience I've ever had. It was not our fault something went wrong with the machine and she might have gotten more if she didn't get us all flustered and completely humiliate us in front of all the other customers. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had. My grandmother was very shaken after this incident. read more

I chose this as a second choice only after the first choice was packed solid with no chance to get in. Soooo glad we got in here instead. After three days of awesome New Mexican food I'm so glad to eat this really awesome Italian food. Caesar salad was the best I've had, the goat cheese ravioli was amazing. This is a favorite Italian haunt and such a great find in a city of "red or green". The food is perfection. Love the Pizza, very gourmet and fresh. The pastas and daily fish specials always on target. They could use a little music to drown out the neighbor conversations but a perfect, cozy date stop. 100% love and the neighborhood is great for walking and exploring. See the "K.ONEAL" store a block away and the galleries in this neighborhood are the best in Santa Fe so make a day of it and end up here for dinner! read more

Just got back to our hotel after a fabulous meal at Andiamo. The ambiance was delightful, and the service afforded us by Austin was absolutely top quality. The star, though, as it should be at any restaurant, was the food. The antipasti plate appetizer was delicious. The salamis played off the olives, which complemented the watercress salad and lemon vinaigrette, which in turn added to the allure of the house made mozzarella and the oven dried tomatoes. We had the half order and it was plenty for two. I had the held order of the penne with lamb. This was a great dish, and I would have liked it even more if the sauce had seen a teaspoon of crushed red pepper added prior to finishing the dish. In fact, since the dish is already offered with lamb or chicken, it could also be offered "regular" or spicy (with the red pepper flakes) and even with or without some heavy cream added. My wife's veal scaloppine was perfect, according to her - fork tender with a perfect, light lemon sauce and superb mashed potatoes. Her cappuccino for desert was excellent, and my lemon granita was powerful and perfect as an end to a great meal. Truly one of the best dining experiences we've had anywhere. read more

This is one of my favorite Italian places in Santa Fe. Since it's not located in the heart of the plaza, Andiamo tends to have mostly locals frequent the place. I've eaten here upwards of 7 times and have never been disappointed. From standards such as Linguini with Frutti di Mare to their daily specials, every meal has ranked from very good to excellent. My Argentine cousin ordered the Spinach Ravioli the other night and the other two of us were quite jealous. As good as our dishes were, the ravioli was outstanding. Some nice glasses/bottles of wine were available at prices that weren't the usual outrageous Santa Fe prices. If you don't order wine or an app and share a dessert, you can easily leave satisfied at a reasonable price per person (around $30). Indulge yourself and, of course, it will get pricey, but not at the crazy levels of the more well known restaurants by the plaza or up Canyon Rd. Comment about the service ... it is a bit hit or miss. This usually depends on how busy the place is. Not busy, very good service. Busy, like the other night, good and friendly. Super busy, they tend to get in the weeds and a bit flustered. Eat early on weekends or try mid-week. read more

What a cute place for a nice dinner at reasonable prices. The calamari is the best in town. Ordered the chicken marsala, and that was very good. Could have used more mushrooms and a slightly thicker sauce, but was still very good. Others at the table ordered various types of pastas and everyone was very satisfied. There were four adults and a toddler. The menu was quite limited but what we did order we enjoyed, with the exception of the calamari cesar salad - very heavy anchovy taste. The space was fine. The service was fine. The food was absolutely inedible. The tomatoes in my Caprese salad were about two weeks away from being ripe. They were white, not red, not even pink yet, and so hard that I couldn't even cut them with a knife. Other than that, the Caprese salad was swimming in oil and what looked like an entire bottle of capers, which I have to say made the entire presentation pretty revolting. My entree, chicken parmesan, was basically a dried, breaded piece of chicken with some mozzarella melted on top -- no tomato sauce at all -- and so overwhelming salty (I mean SALTY) that I couldn't eat it. My pasta, which was penne, had a tomato sauce on it which had a taste and consistency strangely similar to Heinz ketchup. I've had wonderful Italian food. I've had terrible Italian food. But I wouldn't consider this to be Italian food at all. Actually, I wouldn't even consider this to be food. Oh, and to top it off, Andiamo just raised their prices! Enjoy! read more

My boyfriend and I went here for a late dinner recently. We were very, very pleased with the service. We constantly (yet not enough to bother us) had wait staff asking us if we needed something, if everything was okay, etc. At first we weren't even sure who our waiter/waitress was, since so many staff members seemed to be helping out! I found this to be a breath of fresh air from a few of the other places we went to in Santa Fe, where they didn't much care whether you were alive or not. Anyway, we were dining on a budget, so we shared an appetizer and an entree, and it was enough to get both of us full. The penne with smoked chicken was delicious! Lovely Dinner. Beautiful paced. Delicious food. Nice little house, very tight seating - gave me a European feel. Pasta made In House. Had aglio olio with seared scallops done to perfection. Very good. Bread apparently from whole foods that night but you can't be great at everything. The pizza toppings were excellent, the dough not so much. Not sure if it was the oven or the dough. All of the greens were exceptionally fresh and lightly dressed. Good wine list. I would go back and give it a good recommendation. We had 2 large glasses of wine, small antipasto plate, white pizza, spaghetti with scallops, frisée salad for $84 plus tip. This was our second visit. First time we came here was two or three years ago on a recommendation from a friend. That visit went very well. Not so this time. Arrived for our reservation a few minutes late but the table wasn't ready. They scrambled and pulled two tables together. Not a big deal but the the tables were available... Ordering, they have a regular and a vegetarian menu. The latter we had to ask for. I'm not a vegetarian but there are items I was interested in that are not on the main menu. After ordering, got a different pasta. The waiter made it very clear that I ordered the wrong thing and it was my fault (not my recollection) but she would do a quick swap (so gracious!). 10 minutes later my food came out when others were done with theirs. The food. Arrabbiata. Pasta was cooked okay, not al-dente but okay. The sauce was lots of oil (drenched) and hardly any spice. The best ones I'd had were light on oil and rich on flavor, with fresh looking (red) tomatoes. This one was very oily , overcooked tomatoes and little flavor and hardly any spice. The waitress wasn't very happy to be there, or wasn't happy that we were there, something like that. Her "how is your food" was so nominal it wasn't worth it. Didn't check much on us otherwise. To be fair my companions enjoyed their food better. So maybe it's just ordering from the vegetarian menu. Give it a try, maybe you'll get better luck. We are not coming back. read more

Really good food. Waiter was funny and entertaining. Lasagna was not traditional with a lot of red sauce lighter very wonderful texture. Duck leg was crisp refined taste not overwhelming. Didn't like the polenta that was served with it but spinach was great. The only negative is the rugs. They were dirty and a turn off. We arrived in the light so they were more noticable. Please clean them more frequently or better yet remove them all together-I don't really like rugs in restaurants. read more

My family and I had dinner here on New Year's Eve before going to the plaza. The food was so delicious and the atmosphere was comfortable and enjoyable! I had the (prefixed menu) beef carpaccio, a steak, and the chocolate pot de creme. I can't think of one bad thing to say about them! My family members enjoyed their food as well. I do wish they had a full bar as I don't drink beer or wine (but will survive ;)). The service was good being that they were so busy. They also fed the staff and I thought that it was nice of them to take care of their people! I don't live in Santa Fe but visit family throughout the year. I will be coming back to Andiamo! We've been coming here for over 20 years, and it's the one that we're most likely to visit for birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions. Service is outstanding. Food is always great. We always order the Grilled Polenta with Gorgonzola sauce for one of our apps, and the Calamari is yum, too (though could have been a wee bit crispier on our last visit.) For mains, the lamb sausage penne pasta, spaghetti Bolognese, lasagna (Tuesday special), crispy duck legs, the Chicken Parmesan... it's all very good. I think their Tiramisu is the best in town, and I also like the Creme Brule. The current decor is lovely (they've gone through various incarnations- the early days had a kinda heavy Tuscan feel, and they worked hard to overcome draftiness in this converted old adobe building. The best thing about this place was the Roasted Beet Salad. The worst was the crowding and noise level. It's an old house converted into a restaurant, and each room is packed with as many tables feasible. The patrons were not loud, simply too close in proximity. The waitress comped our dessert because they had to ask us to move to another part of the restaurant due to seating difficulties. Would I try it again? Maybe. read more
