I came back to try the cookies, and they've got to be my favorite to order here so far! They're not dry. The chocolate has the perfect amount of sweetness. The crunchy chocolate cookie with peanuts has such a unique cookie flavor! The price is reasonable as well. The service was great. Someone called me while I was in the middle of ordering, and the staff was really patient. This is such a nice, cozy local bakery.

I bike from Flatbush to Queens every so often, and every time I zoom down Queens Boulevard, I pass by this shop and tell myself I'll drop by and check it out...on the eve of Thanksgiving, I came on a whim after being intrigued by the tasty treats in the window. When I saw the red center and the powder sugared circles, I knew I had to get it -- Lintzer tarts, my favourite. This place is literally a hole-in the wall; the shop front is slightly bigger than a closet, but the offerings are larger than life. I resisted the urge to get anything more, so I just settled for one large Lintzer, only setting me back 4$. I think hands down this is the best Lintzer tart I've had in the city. The quality, flavour, and service all make this my new favourite.

Time for some sweets......Andre's has a decadent treat for you. The love affair begins as you stand in front of the store and glance in the display window at the freshly baked goods. When you open the door your met with the scent of butter and the sweet scent of cakes and pies. My all time favorite is the blueberry turnover, followed by the apple turnover. Best words to describe these two is fresh, tasty and an ultra flaky crust that melts every taste bud in your mouth. Don't go late or you will have a harder time getting the turnovers they are just that popular. The turnovers are $3.00 each and roughly the size of your hand. The Linzer torte which is a traditional Austrian pastry is comprised of two shortbread cookies (one with a hole so you see the jelly peaking thru) with fruit preserves wedged between the cookies and a dusty of confectionary sugar. The Rugelach, which comes in chocolate or raspberry.....(raspberry is our favorite) can be ordered by the pound. A pastry with swirl of luscious raspberry filling baked to perfection and ready to be devoured (it may have crushed nuts in it so check with the person at the counter before ordering). Andres has so many options to choose from, streusels, tiramisu, a variety of cookies, cakes and Sacher torte cakes (yes you can buy the entire cake or just get a slice). The Sacher torte is a chocolate addicts dream, made with a dense chocolate cake and covers with a chocolate glaze. You go in to the bakery and after placing your order you most certainly will need that elastic waist band on your pants lol. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is also a location in nyc at 1049 1st Avenue bet 57th & 58th St.

My husband missed their famous strudel and croissant. Since we were around the area, we passed by and rushed to catch their closing time. As expected, their croissants has overwhelming chocolates and the strudels with overflowing apples. Always tastes the same just like as my husband remembered. I enjoyed it too. Recommend to try it for those never been to this bakery. I assure you , tastes better with a cup of coffee.

I ordered strudels online via Grubhub and was very excited but, unfortunately, what I received was horrible. Strudels were clearly dry and burnt. It looked like it was not homemade but frozen fillo dough with filling. Poppy seed one was the worst. Apple strudel was not as dry however it was tasteless. I'm sorry, I really hoped it would be a good place :(

Rugelachs are so delicious the chocolate an the raspberry nut are my favorite yummy and delicious. Also I got the vanilla/chocolate cake with raspberry for my aunt an she loved it. Very good customer service, the place is beautiful inside, I remember going here years ago it was nice to go back today.

Their rugelach are famous. I learned about the bakery years ago when a colleague mailed a pound of Andre's rugelach. They are 5*. Fast forward and I know live nearby and will pick up a slice of cake if I'm need of a high quality sugar experience. They're worth the calories:-) Their dobosh torte and seven layer cake are a chocoholic's dream come true. They now have a couple of tables outside. Need a cake for your next event? Try them. They've been around since 1976 with good reason. And they now accept credit and debit cards.

They do get tough to make but while I was waiting to be seated, I saw a few people put their name down and the wait time was hours (for lunch) The location is small a quaint, hence the small amount of reservation. I believe it seats about 23 if memory serves me correctly. We came by after a run and were VERY glad there's AC inside. We ordered the breakfast plate, tuna melt and potato pancake. Food came pretty quickly. Our seats had a great view of the staff working in the kitchen. The potato pancake was very crunch and tasteful, a bit on the salty side but paired well with the breakfast plate. Tuna melt was the main event, and it was as creamy as I imagined. I went to this restaurant with a group a good while back, as can be seen from Andie's old review…read more This is one of two Czech restaurants in the city, along with Bohemian Spirit, located in the Bohemian National Hall, and the food here reminded me much more closely of what I had in the Czech Republic, or rather, now, Czechia. The inside looks and feels like a tavern, and there was the typical no-nonsense staff you find in Central and Southern European restaurants. They have a very reasonably priced beer menu, especially on tap, and I got a BrouCzech Dark for $7 for half a liter, with a 1/3 liter option for $5, with the other tap options being the pilsners Czechvar and the more standard Urquel. They gave us some free bread to start, before our very heavy shared meal. The first thing to arrive was the Boiled Perogies, consisting of 12 pieces for $25, topped with bacon and sour cream. I usually slightly prefer the fried version, but these were very tasty. It wasn't super doughy compared to most spots, and it had a nice filling. As per usual, the dumplings, which were a bit rich, were balanced by the sour cream. In short, I preferred these over the boiled pierogi from Karczma, among other spots. While we were eating, another smaller plate arrived, the Broiled Klobasa for $13, served with horseradish sauce. I am very particular about sausage quality, as my old hometown has a butcher shop that makes 25/30 homemade products, including many sausages, and this was very tasty. The klobasa had a good smoky flavor and had a good snap. The horseradish, mustard, and pickles on the side helped with the richness. I would recommend this also. For most people, their favorite dish of the evening was the Halusky for $27, or potatoes spaetzle with sheep cheese, topped with bacon. As per the other dishes, the portion size was very generous. The spaetzle had a good texture, and the dish was quite rich, creamy, and salty from the cheese and bacon. This version was comparable, if not better than, the excellent versions at the various Eastern European spots in Manhattan, and I would recommend this as well. Our least favorite dish by a lot was the Pork Schnitzel for $28, made with a potato pancake batter and topped with cheese. This came with a salad and a side item of our choice. The salad was very plain but fresh, with some potatoes and pickled vegetables on the side. The schnitzel lacked a bit of flavor and salt compared to the other dishes. This was the only miss of the evening, but it was still decent as the chicken had a nice breading. Next time, I would probably try their Svíčková, or in other words, beef and cream sauce, to compare it to Spirit and other dishes, such as the roast duck, if it's hopefully available as one of the specials. This was an above-average spot serving a less common cuisine, and I would recommend it.
