I came back to try the cookies, and they've got to be my favorite to order here so far! They're not dry. The chocolate has the perfect amount of sweetness. The crunchy chocolate cookie with peanuts has such a unique cookie flavor! The price is reasonable as well. The service was great. Someone called me while I was in the middle of ordering, and the staff was really patient. This is such a nice, cozy local bakery.

I bike from Flatbush to Queens every so often, and every time I zoom down Queens Boulevard, I pass by this shop and tell myself I'll drop by and check it out...on the eve of Thanksgiving, I came on a whim after being intrigued by the tasty treats in the window. When I saw the red center and the powder sugared circles, I knew I had to get it -- Lintzer tarts, my favourite. This place is literally a hole-in the wall; the shop front is slightly bigger than a closet, but the offerings are larger than life. I resisted the urge to get anything more, so I just settled for one large Lintzer, only setting me back 4$. I think hands down this is the best Lintzer tart I've had in the city. The quality, flavour, and service all make this my new favourite.

Time for some sweets......Andre's has a decadent treat for you. The love affair begins as you stand in front of the store and glance in the display window at the freshly baked goods. When you open the door your met with the scent of butter and the sweet scent of cakes and pies. My all time favorite is the blueberry turnover, followed by the apple turnover. Best words to describe these two is fresh, tasty and an ultra flaky crust that melts every taste bud in your mouth. Don't go late or you will have a harder time getting the turnovers they are just that popular. The turnovers are $3.00 each and roughly the size of your hand. The Linzer torte which is a traditional Austrian pastry is comprised of two shortbread cookies (one with a hole so you see the jelly peaking thru) with fruit preserves wedged between the cookies and a dusty of confectionary sugar. The Rugelach, which comes in chocolate or raspberry.....(raspberry is our favorite) can be ordered by the pound. A pastry with swirl of luscious raspberry filling baked to perfection and ready to be devoured (it may have crushed nuts in it so check with the person at the counter before ordering). Andres has so many options to choose from, streusels, tiramisu, a variety of cookies, cakes and Sacher torte cakes (yes you can buy the entire cake or just get a slice). The Sacher torte is a chocolate addicts dream, made with a dense chocolate cake and covers with a chocolate glaze. You go in to the bakery and after placing your order you most certainly will need that elastic waist band on your pants lol. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There is also a location in nyc at 1049 1st Avenue bet 57th & 58th St.

My husband missed their famous strudel and croissant. Since we were around the area, we passed by and rushed to catch their closing time. As expected, their croissants has overwhelming chocolates and the strudels with overflowing apples. Always tastes the same just like as my husband remembered. I enjoyed it too. Recommend to try it for those never been to this bakery. I assure you , tastes better with a cup of coffee.

I ordered strudels online via Grubhub and was very excited but, unfortunately, what I received was horrible. Strudels were clearly dry and burnt. It looked like it was not homemade but frozen fillo dough with filling. Poppy seed one was the worst. Apple strudel was not as dry however it was tasteless. I'm sorry, I really hoped it would be a good place :(

Rugelachs are so delicious the chocolate an the raspberry nut are my favorite yummy and delicious. Also I got the vanilla/chocolate cake with raspberry for my aunt an she loved it. Very good customer service, the place is beautiful inside, I remember going here years ago it was nice to go back today.

Their rugelach are famous. I learned about the bakery years ago when a colleague mailed a pound of Andre's rugelach. They are 5*. Fast forward and I know live nearby and will pick up a slice of cake if I'm need of a high quality sugar experience. They're worth the calories:-) Their dobosh torte and seven layer cake are a chocoholic's dream come true. They now have a couple of tables outside. Need a cake for your next event? Try them. They've been around since 1976 with good reason. And they now accept credit and debit cards.

There's usually a line of some length during peak hours and especially around the holidays. You can tell by the sheer volume of baked goods and cakes available in their window displays that they sell a lot daily. This location is on the main drag of the little downtown section of Forest Hills, the baked goods in the front window display connect to a tall and long glass counter along the left side of the store that extends almost to the back. At the back middle and along the right side of the wall there's seating for about two dozen people at small cafe tables. They carry an assortment of traditional cakes (full and sliced), pies, cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream and coffee/tea drinks. A wide variety of flavors in each, so you're bound to find something sweet to satisfy most here. They are a classic bakery so from what I can tell, they don't carry items that are gluten, dairy or nut free. I've purchased their apple pie, fruit tart, berry napoleon, red velvet and chocolate fudge cakes from this or other locations in the past and they're all solid choices for desserts to share with a larger group, though I find a lot of their cake options to be on the richer side. My most recent encounter with their cakes came in the form of a slice of their seven layer cake $9.95 which is thin layers of yellow cake alternating with chocolate cream mmm pretty tasty, and their caramel cake $9.95 which had a layer of chocolate cake in the middle, sandwiched by caramel cream and white cake on either side. The latter had a pronounced caramel flavor that was enjoyable though a bit too much cream for me. My preference would be for their chocolate cakes over other cake flavors here. Their apple pie is one of my favorite apple pies anywhere tho!

It took us a while to decide on what to buy partly because we were buying also for our friends.
