What a great place to enjoy breakfast or lunch right next to the river! We got to try their famous French toast and omelette. Not only was the food amazing but the prices are very reasonable. Our total tab was only $20 for two people and we got two entrées coffee & soda. Our server was very friendly and very patient with us while we asked her questions about the establishment and food. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant for breakfast. My wife and I tried this place out after one too many boring and bland Batavia Diner experiences. What a welcome change this place was. While our service has been hit or miss, the food consistently is excellent. I typically get anything with a mexican flair for breakfast. This is customary for me when I know what nationality the owners are of an establishment. If the chef is of Mexican heritage, why not go with something that he/she knows very well and probably tastes great. The pricing structure is very good as well in my opinion. While its not the Batavia Diner in pricing, it definitely isn't Honey Jam either. I really hope people start paying attention to this place as it is very good and needs more people to try this out and spread the word. Its not out of the way or hard to find, but I think it does tend to get forgotten compared to the Randal Road traffic. My wife and I will continue to be regulars here as you can't find a better tasting breakfast in Batavia's downtown and east side. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Batavia for breakfast. It's family owned and the wife is the cutest thing ever. Her kids help her wait and are always pleasant. I take every outsider here when we are looking for a breakfast/brunch option. In warmer weather their porch is perfect. It overlooks the Fox River and the bike path. They have great Spanish/Mexican influenced breakfast staples. My absolute favorite are the Enchilada Breakfast Crepes. Their Mexican omelets and eggs benedict are delicious too. Portion sizes are hefty for the small price tag. Their hash-browns are a must as well. They always come out super crispy which is how I like them. One of the most extensive and affordable breakfast menus in the area - and, to my husband's absolute, utter delight - a Belgian waffle combo! First of all they had the displeasure to be served by the "owner" unfortunately I forgot the name that they told me. So I shall refer to her as "owner" my mom came here one with a friend and enjoyed it so she wanted to bring my dad for his birthday, a decision she will soon regret. Everywhere they go for breakfast they usually split a meal between the 2 of them. Some places charge $1 for just the extra plate some don't. This one happens to be the one that does. Once their food arrives they asked for salsa "chile" because they like their food to be spicy. This place charges another $1 for the salsa because it has jalapenos in it and the meal they ordered has jalapenos too. Who does that? They got the salsa anyway. I wouldn't have. Anyway they are eating their food and asked for more coffee. This "owner" tells them that they don't normally give this much coffee to people that split. Let nee be clear they did not split the cost of one coffee. They each paid for a coffee and there are free refills on coffee. At this time she also asked my parents where they were from. My parents tell her my family is from Mexico. This lady has the audacity to say "that's weird normally the Mexicans that come here love to eat they order allot and eat allot they love our food." My parents were stunned. Just because they are Mexicans doesn't mean they have to be profiled and told they aren't like the other Mexicans that go and eat there. Let me reiterate this is the OWNER. What kind of owner says that. Never ever ever ever ever ever will I darken the door of this establishment. I guess they only value the customers that intend on spending and eating allot. My husband and I have breakfasted here four times over the past several years. We have never had a bad experience, either with the food or the service. Every time I go here, I wonder when or if this restaurant is going to get "discovered." We've never seen it crowded, especially when compared to other breakfast places in the area. On a recent visit, we were the only patrons in the restaurant. We are, admittedly, early morning people, but it was a Saturday morning and the restaurant was entirely empty. We has a table by a window that overlooked the river, so my boys were able to watch the duck floating around while we waited for our food. The food was delicious and affordable. Excellent food and service. This is a family owned business and they went out of their way to make sure everything was wonderful. We ordered breakfast and it was delicious (skillet breakfast). My grandson dropped his toy down one of the benches and our waitress would not give up until she had found his toy. I was very impressed with the customer service and the food. We will go back.
