Bought this honey because my bf saw it on the news. My daughter suffers with awful pollen allergies and this year it is EXTREMELY bad. Apparently eating the honey of local bees will ease your symptoms. A tablespoon of this Andrew's Honey a day is reported to assuage pollen allergy symptoms. Ever the skeptic we made the trek to Union Sq to purchase a bottle. A few days pass. Thursday of that same week I ask my daughter how her allergies were and she says she is MUCH better. She hasn't had the itchy swollen eyes all week. She also LOVES the taste of this honey. (Its wildflower honey, which I prefer). She has been eating quite a lot of it so the bottle is nearly empty. The following Saturday I purchase another bottle. There are a few other vendors who sell honey, so look specifically for Andrew's Honey. Tell them in what area of New York / New York City you live in and they will direct you to the honey of bees from your local area. I just purchased their Snowberry honey at the Union Square Greenmarket and boy am I regretting not checking the price! I'm familiar with the elevated costs of honey these days and most good, raw honeys go for about $12 to about $20 at the highest for a 12- to 16-ounce jar. I assumed that's what I'd be paying for honey at this stand. Well, I just saw the receipt that was e-mailed to me and I nearly off my chair when I saw that the 12-ounce jar I bought was $30 DOLLARS! It's very good honey but I'm sorry, no honey, no matter the quality, is worth that much. This is what they used to call highway robbery. I will never peruse this stand again, there are many sources of excellent raw honey that don't charge nearly this obscenely exorbitant amount. read more

This little stand has the best honey I think I've ever tried. I love the buckwheat in particular but the alfalfa is amazing. There is something for every taste. I've been buying honey from Andrews Honey for years and I'm never disappointed! So much of the honey on the market these days isn't honey at all and once you have the real thing you'll never go back. Andrew is the 4th generation beekeeper and is a wealth of knowledge about honey, bees and bee welfare. I'm shocked to read about bad customer service at the market though. It wife and I have known Andrew and simply loved his honey for more than 10 years. We met him first in the Greenwich Farmers Market and after he left there I found out that he had set up shop at the Union Square Market. Working close by means we now have easy access to this wonderful, unpasteurized raw honey with all its benefits. All of my interactions, and that of my wife, have been great. Andrew is someone who takes pride in his product, takes time to enumerate it's healthy qualities and answers questions patiently. I've never had, nor seen anything negative about his interactions with people. A review I read just now, which prompted me to write this review accused Andrew of ignoring him because he was African American...I can state unequivocally that is not a part of his character. He has traveled the world with his Bees For Borders organization to help many different kinds of people...literally of all races, religions and all colors. I respect him, his product and, after countless hours of conversations I can say with certainty that that review is not accurate. Andrew is the rudest man every. Total business man !! I nicely approached him to ask about his take on taking Propolis for the immune system. I am an Master Herbalist and wanted to get his knowledge base of Propolis, since there are conflicting reviews in the Herbal/Holistic world. I told Andrew I started taking a Propolis tincture that I bought recently. Andrew berated me in front of other customers because "if I didn't buy the Propolis from him and told me to get lost" !! He was probably angry that I was asking about his 'no-knowledge' of the medicinal uses of Propolis and took it out on me. Very rude and should not represented the APITHERAPY community. I emailed them to see if the Whipped Honey was available at the Union Square Market and no one ever responded. I went there. I found nothing extra ordinary about their honey and actually found the labeling a bit frustrating. I also found the sales person rather pushy, border line rude. I did buy the Whipped Honey. It was $ 12.00. When I got home, I looked at their website where the Whipped Honey is posted as $ 10.00. That really pissed me off. I would have bought the honey comb, but this guy had already turned me off so I hesitated asking some questions and opted to just walk away. My beekeeping Chronicles. The $250 hustle. Beekeeping 101 Intensive - New York City Beekeepers Association On February 6, 2019. I purchased tickets for the beekeeping intensive. On February 9 2019, (one session late) I very enthusiastically attended my first session. I was excited about having a positive experience. I understood that I was joining the class a session late. It took me extra time to come up with the $250 class fee. Upon arrival I met Andrew who stated he was aware that I had registered late And asssured me that I receive email updates about the class. The following week I continuously emailed Andrew to determine if I should expect to receive emails as I had not received any. I emailed several times and Andrew failed to respond. He eventually responded only directing me to the website. Again I requested information regarding whether not I should rely solely on the website or expect emails. Andrew again failed to respond. After having no other choice, I sent Andrew an email requesting a refund. Andrew responded almost instantly. I found his response very brash and dismissive. As he informed me that I would not receive a refund. I only attended one session of the class and I experienced the facilitator Andrew to be condescending and demeaning toward participants. I enrolled in this class in hopes of having an outlet to relieve stress. This whole experience has been extremely disappointing. I simply wish to have a refund and have no more contact with Andrew. I highly recommend against anyone taking this class. read more
