Parking is street parking around the corner. There is always spots open. They have both indoor and outdoor eating. They have tables set out in front in their entry way. We've eaten out there before. It's' nice and secluded. Usually we eat in the first table by the door. We usually arrive 11:30 on a weekday and it's usually empty. This past time we went it was busy, there were 4 tables eating when we arrived at Noon. Our go to is Inner Peace. It's a cold noodle salad that comes with a fired egg roll. It's really light and tastes fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant. In the past, Joe K and I often dined at their location in Rancho Cordova, which was not entirely devoted to plant based cuisine. Unfortunately, that one eventually closed. But on a positive note, I was invited to attend a UYE, arranged by one of my Yelp friends: Bridget W. She is a true vegetarian, so I was excited to finally go to an event that included an intimate party of other Yelp friends which I hadn't seen in over a year since Joe K passed away. When it comes to vegetarian and vegan foods, I'm all for it! When it is served Vietnamese style, well, that's even better! The interior dining room is a bit small and cozy, so large parties may not work well here. Our server, Jannessa did a nice job taking care of our party of six. The menu has a nice selection of delicious options, making choosing somewhat hard. I finally narrowed my desire for "Inner Peace": Rice noodles, crispy lotus roll, lettuce, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots, mixed seasonal herbs, toasted crushed peanuts w/ house vinaigrette. To accompany my meal, I chose one of their "Elixirs of Life" beverages: the "Shaolin Monk": a combination of strawberry, banana, pineapple, spirulina and matcha. Everyone ordered different dishes and seem to really enjoy the food. My dinner was very satisfying and actually brought me some inner peace. I think it was not just the food, but the company that gave me some comfort for being out of touch from Yelp events for awhile and socializing without Joe K. Thanks again to Bridget W. for inviting me and reuniting us together to include Jenny P., David O., Alex T., and Nancy M. I look forward to another UYE again!

Andy Nguyen's is another amazing Sac establishment. The restaurant itself is cozy, well decorated and accommodating to parties of various sizes. The staff is also incredibly knowledgeable of the menu and kind. The egg rolls were delicious and we also tried the Buddha rolls which were fresh and incredibly well seasoned. We also ordered the tempura fries to share which were delicious! The tempura batter was the perfect amount of salty and they came out hot and crispy. We went through them so fast! For my main I ordered the Self Nurturing Chow Fun. The portion sizes here are very generous. The rice noodles were chewy and delicious, but I wasn't a big fan of the satay sauce. I also felt as though the tofu and veggies could've been cooked a little more. Overall, the experience was wonderful and I would love to go again and explore more of their menu until I find something I LOVE.

Andy Nguyen's continues to improve and impress, so I'm updating this review to give this local veggie-forward restaurant the extra credit it deserves. I recently came in with a friend to try their Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge menu. I look forward to what Andy Nguyen's comes up with every year, and this one was even better than the last. All three items sounded amazing, so we just ordered one of everything to share. Wow, it was all really good. The lemongrass beef spring rolls were particularly terrific and I hope find a home on the permanent menu. And Lion's Mane mushrooms? Yeah, more chefs definitely need to get familiar with these because they're phenomenal. Since my last review the front facade of the restaurant now has a small, enclosed patio that allows for dining al fresco in a very zen way. It's also a dog-friendly space. Locals have known about this spot for decades. It's also likely that this restaurant has been around longer than most of the people that'll read this review. So if you're not from Sacramento, put this one on your list the next time you pass through town because you are going to love it. And if you're local and still haven't been to Andy Nguyen's... what are you waiting for?!?

Vietnamese cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines. I've had a lot excellent dishes and restaurants. I had doubts about a vegetarian restaurant with quality Vietnamese cuisine. It only took one visit to Andy Nguyen's Vegetarian to make me a believer. On my first visit, we started with the Treasure Rolls which really wowed me. The rolls were refreshing and you can really taste the natural ingredients. We then had the Awakening Mind Chow Fun and Sea Salt Smoked Oyster Mushrooms. I love chow fun and this was one of the best I've ever had. It was full flavored and you can really taste the rich umami flavors. The oyster mushroom was topped with vegetables and were a perfect match for the star ingredient. Our second visit was for the 2023 Sacramento Vegan Chef Challenge. The menu looked so impressive, we ordered one of each dish. We started with the Lemongrass Beef Spring Rolls. I thought the Treasure Rolls were impressive, I was blown away with this dish. If this was all I had for our meal, I would've been satisfied. But the goodies kept coming. We had the Bacon Egg Fried Rice next. I'm not a vegan and huge fan of bacon. I've had some really bad bacon substitutes, but this wasn't one of them. The texture wasn't exactly like real bacon, but they had the flavor down. Lastly, we had the Lion's Mane Tofu Yellow Coconut Curry. While this dish was flavorful, it wasn't as impressive as the previous dishes. All in all, our meal was very fulfilling. From the outside, you would never know there was a modern oasis inside. Parking can be a challenge because it's street parking. For the most part, our dining experience was great. My only qualm is service. It was pretty minimal. They were good about seating us and taking our order promptly. Our food was delivered in a timely manner and that was the last time we saw our server. We had to ask for refills, water and our check. But that was a minor weak spot.

I haven't been into Andy Nguyen's since it used to be just a regular Vietnamese restaurant! This was my return with my family. My sis-in-law is vegetarian so she loves hitting up this place whenever she is in town. (She's from the Bay) They remodeled the place to look nice and modern. We had a pretty big party, (I think there were almost 20 of us) so we got the back wall to us. The waitstaff were very sweet. This place definitely has a bit of a hipster vibe... But being vegetarian, I kind of expected it, lol. My brother insisted that we try one of their many juices, so I got the Yoda - On account I was wearing a Star Wars themed shirt. I went full theme, baby! I would say even though the drink is green, it is quite heavy on the banana flavor. It's good, but I was expecting to taste more than banana. The smoked mushroom app was very good! My hubs let me try some of his Awakening Mind chow fun - This was more like a Vietnamese bun cold noodle dish. Not exactly what he was thinking but I thought it was good still. My Self Nurturing chow fun was more his speed. Definitely more like a regular chow fun, but a tad salty for my liking. It was still good though. Cool spot for sure. Will be back to try other things!

I've been coming to this restaurant for about 7 years now and the food never disappoint! I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I truly enjoy what they serve, especially their fire grill dishes (Awakening of Faith is my all time favorite). Every time I crave vegetables or anything clean for my body, this is the first place in my mind. The service is solid and the food is always outstanding. I've tried almost everything on the menu and they're either good or exceed my expectations -- never bad! The place could use a little renovation (the ceiling looked like it had water damage which can be a hazard in the future), a little bit cleaner (the floor is almost always sticky and full of crumbs when we dine in) but those small details disappear when food is served.

If you love vegetarian, Vegan eats, come check out @andynguyenrestaurant84! I was impressed with their vegan Vietnamese bun bo hue, which is a lemon grass soup with using soy beef, and shitake mushrooms. The flavors and presentations were great. Ambiance is very zen and relaxing inside. Casual setting so you can relax. Limited seating inside. Good parking spots on the street. Easy to find and not missed. Service was great. I would come and try out other items as well. . Supreme Noodles- "Hue Province Spicy Noodle Soup" soy beef, tofu, shiitake mushroom, seasonal mixed vegetables in a spicy pineapple lemongrass broth topped w/ sprouts, onions, basil, jalapeños & lime. ALLERGENS: Vegan. Wheat-free Option Available - this one is one of my favorites. It has a great broth with good flavor of lemongrass. It's perfect for cold weather and rainy days. . Nirvana Lemon Salad-Grilled soy beef w/ carrots, cabbage, onions, mixed herb slaw, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds w/ house vinaigrette. ALLERGENS: Vegan. Wheat-free Option Available - it's like a salad for small bites to pick on throughout the meal. Also great to share and eat alone as a light snack. . Treasure Roll- Lettuce, rice noodles, soy shrimp, soy ham, mixed herbs, pickled carrots, crushed peanuts & crispy strip w/ rice paper, and peanut sauce. ALLERGENS: Vegan/ Contains Wheat & Whey - it's like eating spring roll with meats, but has soy shrimp and soy ham, it's a light and refreshing appetizer to start off with sharing or eat alone and not share. . Inner Peace- Rice noodles, crispy lotus roll, lettuce, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots, mixed seasonal herbs, toasted crushed peanuts w/ house vinaigrette. ALLERGENS: Vegan. Contains Wheat - it's like eating a generous portion of crispy spring rolls with the noodle bowl. It's quite light and crisp and refreshing with the Vegan fish sauce. . Urban Monk Bowl- Rice noodle, garlic, onions, sautéed beef, lettuce, cucumbers, sprouts, carrots, mixed seasonal herbs, toasted crushed peanuts w/ house vinaigrette sauce. ALLERGENS: Vegan. Contains Wheat - the soy beef is char grill3d perfectly. The balance of the noodles and soy meat with some vegan fish sauce was great.

We came up from the South Bay to see what Sacramento has to offer since I hadn't been up here in a decade+ My wife is vegetarian and she found this place which is pretty darn close to vegan. From what I can tell from the menu they will add an egg if you ask for it, but that's it. We had the Buddha rolls, and Maha mushrooms, along with their version of Pad Thai. The Buddha rolls, and their dipping sauce was pretty good. These are the fresh kind, not the deep-fried kind. The Maha mushrooms look to be trumpet mushrooms in a tempura style. Nicely salted and good crunch. Pad Thai was also flavorsome. My wife had a hot tea from their good selection, and I tried their Earthling. The earthling is a Mocktail, consisting of apple, beet, carrot, and ginger juices. It has a nice red color and arrives with a dried orange round as garnish. We won't wait 10+ years to come back to Sacramento and this place is one of the reasons why!

Great spot!! Highly recommend. We came when they first open bc we've heard it gets full quickly. I enjoyed the restaurant atmosphere and the food so much. It's a small place but has a nice setup inside and also seating outside under a covered porch. Everything is vegan and yummy. I ordered the Buddha Belly noodle soup and we split an order of Buddha spring rolls. The noodle soup was plentiful and perfect for the cold, rainy day in Sacramento. I really enjoyed the spicy lemongrass kick. The spring rolls were traditional with the rice paper so a little bit chewy which came with a great dipping sauce. Literally just an amazing meal and great time being in the restaurant. Service was superb from beginning to end. Will come every time I visit Sacramento.

So yummy! Can't believe it has taken me this long to try this place! Atmosphere: So cute! Love the warm wood and greenery? Service: Solid! Food: the spring rolls were refreshing and the froed maitake mushrooms were so good with the dipping sauce! I liked the pho better than the curry soup but both were good :)

If you would have told me five years ago that my future self would be purchasing premium skincare products and healthy juices, I probably would have laughed in your face. However, at the age of 37, I have come to realize that money spent on selfcare & healthy foods is a health investment. Therefore, after receiving a fresh haircut by hair professional Antoine Dunn, per his recommendation, I proceeded next door to Andy Nguyen's Vegetarian. Upon entering the restaurant, I was warmly greeted by numerous employees behind the counter (one of the employees kindly commented on how crisp he thought my haircut was). I proceeded to order the "Kind" juice from the "Elixirs of Life" portion of the drink menu. I patiently waited for ten minutes until an employee walked over to me and handed me the juice. What I did not realize is how much love was going into the drink as I sat there for ten minutes. The juice was not only large, but I could taste every single ingredient listed on the menu (Mixed berries, banana, wild berry protein coconut). I am very grateful that Antione referred me here, and will treat myself to a juice following my future hair appointments (every two weeks). Thank you Andy Nguyen's Vegetarian!

Can we order allium-free (no onion, no garlic, no scallion, no shallot, no leeks)?

Pretty sure you can as I seem to recall someone asking for that, but best to call the restaurant for such matters.

Does this place serve fresh salmon?

No. Only pho meat. It's a vegetarian restaurant.

    What keto options are there?

Does this place also have gluten free options?

    Yes they do.

The husband wanted a Monday Date night and who am I to say No. What we had: *Planta with Chicken Coconut Dip. This planta is a crossover of naan with Mochi like middle with the prefect crisp served with an amazing Chicken sauce. Yah...will be having this again. Hubby had most of it because I was saving my appetite for what's to come. *TeaLead Salad - Yes its a MUST. The fried seasoned garlic is the secret to why this salad hits the palate in the most perfect way. The dressing is oil based which wasn't over powering or even greasy. The peanut was tastefully done. Yes - I ate most of it. Fresh ingredients in every bite. *Chili Basil Beef - at first glance, it looked like Mongolian Beef but far from the taste. The cumin, ginger and chili flakes gave this dish the wow factor. Mind you, I dislike ginger pieces and didn't come across one piece so they must have used ginger powder which I appreciate. We all know the benefits of ginger and I feel like I got a dose of it without biting into one. *PadThai - we were warned that the Burmese way come with a hint of sweetness and this was definitely true but notoverpowering. Husband enjoyed it, me not so much. The dishes came with extra large prawns. You can tell the prawns we're seasoned first hand before getting tossed into the mix. DRINKS: Husband had the coconut monsoon (rum with coconut flakes and I had Bite Dog HAZY IPA - yum. Prime location - corner of 16th street and J, street parking. Restaurant was clean and with a bar and open kitchen concept. What I would have liked: I wish the aesthetic of the restaurant showcased the culture. Wish the dishes were served in a more traditional serving plates. My eyes eat first so I would have appreciated the extra touch but the TASTE definitely made up for it. Will definitely be back! The location was a bit odd, as there were barely any other businesses nearby. There is street parking that you can pay for. It's a fairly small restaurant. We were were seated pretty quickly. It came with a fermented curry gravy, and it delicious! I would totally order this again. -Green Thai tea: Quite fragrant and not too full on half and half like some other places have it. You order, they give you a number, and then they bring your food to the table. The menu was large, with appetizers, burgers, gyro,, salads, and desserts. I decided to start with the dip trio. I asked Gemma if it was a large serving, , and she said "not really" . *SPOILER ALERT* it was.... The Baba ganoush had a wonderful. Roasted flavor and you could definitely taste the eggplant, that tzaziki had a wonderful "Tang" to it, which kept it from being too rich, and the hummus was creamy, and delicious. Nothing overwhelmed each other. There was a bit of red pepper on top of the hummus that gave it a tiny kick. There was a generous amount of pita to go with it. I loved the olives. They had a nice briny flavor to them. I normally don't care for green olives, but these were amazing. For my main course, I ordered the chicken pita bowl. Chicken Gyro meat, arugula, lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, tzatziki, and I had a choice of regular or spicy aïoli. Again, I asked her how spicy the spicy aioli was, and she said it was a bit spicy. I decided to try the spicy aïoli, and she offered to put it on the side. That was also very nice I had a choice of Greek fries or rice, and I chose to have half-and-half. The fries were more like small wedges, and they were tender and well seasoned. The rice was just your average white rice, but it did have a very good texture The chicken was tender and flavorful, and again, everything played very well with each other. The spicy aïoli was about halfway up the scale of what I like for spicy, but it had an amazing flavor. I mixed everything together, including the spicy aïoli, and it made for the perfect bite. It came with a few more pieces of that tender pita bread. I ended up with about half of my dip trio, and half of my main course. Enough to take Home for another full meal. The price is on the higher end, but for the amount of the amazing food you get, it was definitely worth it. I will be back. Thank you.
