Stumbled on Field-n-Flame looking for dinner on a work trip. First off, this restaurant is beautiful. The interior design is lux with a mix of modern. They have a great looking bar, and Jake made a fantastic expresso martini with Turkish coffee. Smooth and clean flavors. Loved it. I got their House-made Papperdelle and boy was it delicious. Nice thick noodles with shredded short-ribs mixed in. I was still a little hungry and ordered the side of fries with yogurt and chili oil, something different but something yummy! The owner is a background of Greek and Turkish. He was so kind to let me try their in house made Turkish coffee which I never tried before. So hospitable of him, thank you cause I enjoyed it. Plenty of indoor seating and customer service here is top tier. I really enjoyed my dinner very much so. Would definitely come back and recommend coming here. Thank you Firuz (owner)

First time visiting. Stopped in on a Thursday after seeing a play at Broadway Sacramento. We tried a wide variety of small plates to share. The fare is Mediterranean inspired in a classy mid-town vibe. THE PROS: Wonderful ambiance. Our server, Ferzan, was top notch, both with her service and suggestions. Upscale casual with lots of high end touches. Live jazz and some classic style harp music the evening we were there. We each had a cocktail, split about small plates, and did a dessert. There was not a bad dish in the bunch, but my wife and I agreed the stand-out was the Filet Mignon skewers. Delicious. Cooked perfectly with a wonderful parsley/onion garnish that made an amazing flavor combination. THE CONS: Only a few very minor things come to mind: The shrimp dish, while quite tasty, was a bit salty. A couple FYIs: The lighting, while it made for nice atmosphere, is a bit on the dim side for menu reading. Also, their fresh baked bread is wonderful, but it would be a real plus if it was complementary, because it really goes great with their food and dips. More is better. And to me this one's a head scratcher... in the dining room with moody lighting and classy music they had a big screen tv with ESPN on the whole time. To be fair, the sound was off, but if you were there to watch sports, they have a nice bar with two other screens in there. It was totally out of place in the main dining room. BOTTOM LINE: Yes. Absolutely Yes. It is great for date-night, or any other night when you want a comfortable high end dining experience. PRICE: Items range from about $20-$50 each. Our total was about $150

We went for a friend's birthday on January 3rd 2026 around 7:00 p.m.. The restaurant was not too busy as that day there was a bit of rain in the Sacramento area. Coming into the restaurant it was very intimate the lights were low but the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. We were greeted by the host and then quickly greeted again by the server that was going to help us during our meal. We had a nice big comfy table near the entrance that could see outside through the big window. Since it was our first time there the server gave us her favorite suggestions and all the pictures that I posted with this or will be purchased based on that recommendation. We were exceedingly happy because since we were celebrating a birthday we brought our own cake and they were very gracious enough to take the cake we brought and put it in the back so it could stay cold until we needed it. In addition they even went as far as cutting the cake for us so we could have it served to the birthday boy. The food items we did were the fries with sauce, beef skewers, meatballs, grilled octopus, Mac and cheese, and the zucchini croquettes. Hands down everyone loved the mac and cheese followed by the beast skewers. Both of those had amazing flavor especially the mac and cheese it was not overly decadent but very comforting. The skewers we're perfectly cooked and had a nice char on the outside of them. The one thing that we would call out is both the croquettes and the grilled octopus the octopus could have been a little bit more charred on the grill so it had a nice little crunch to it. Similar to the Croquettes they were soft on the inside which is nice but felt a little too soft on the outside not soggy but again it just needed that crunch to give the nice bite to it. We did order a few drinks going to be honest I cannot remember what they were because I only took one picture of them my bad. But overall no one had any complaints. We actually ended up ordering a second round of drinks and people copied each other to try other things. Overall the experience was very nice, food was good definitely want to try out other dishes there, and the service was unbelievably gracious and amazing.

Half Rack of Lamb Fire-Grilled with Chimichurri - lamb had a lot of fat

3.5 stars I waited after soft opening to come. The ambiance is great. However, food is okay. The half rack of lamb has a lot of fat, otherwise flavoring was good. Magpies lamb is still my fave. My friend got a Caesar salad and added chicken. Her chicken was dry and didn't finish it. Drink Turkish martini was solid, I know I like my drinks sweeter - so I told the bartender that. Tip if you want to sit in the dining area - you must have reservation. Even though... there were a lot of seatings. So we went to the bar.

Grayish weird "fillet minion" Gordon Ramsay wouldn't approve of this. Neither would any Mediterranean person.

The food is literally gray. If you know what Mediterranian food is, you'll understand that this is bottom of the barrel. A guy sitting in the back kissing his girl at the lame bar in the back. People look like they're dating off of tinder. Food portions are laughable. 1 star. Don't say I didn't warn you. You're welcome.

Just had such an amazing experience at this restaurant! Everything from the service, the ambiance and especially the food. The staff were so friendly. We had the soup of the day (a delicious vegetable soup), the steak, Pardell's (absolutely delicious). It is also beautifully decorated.

I showed up here for the first time on Saturday afternoon and I was greeted by the lovely bartender, Cheryl, who was a 5 star worker there! She offered me the happy hour, regular, and drinks menu all at once. She was very attentive! Even made great conversation with me! The ambiance was cute because it was around 330pm when I went in there and it was happy hour. Here are my reviews of the food now: Pork sliders: DELICIOUS! It was a tiny bit over salted but I still loved it! The portions were well for a happy hour menu item! 5/5 The mini carnitas Mac and cheese: YUCK! My goodness it was not all that good, I took a few bites to give this dish a chance but it was a total let down! Bland, no flavor at all. Do not order This dish! -100/5

This place has a very nice, chill ambience. The restaurant has low lighting and good setting for date night or catching up with friends. We ordered the filet mignon skewers and shrimp. Definitely recommend the filet skewers. For our main meal we ordered sea bass and rack of lamb. They were both delicious options. For dessert we got the pistachio tiramisu. Not too sweet, no coffee taste, but soft cake. The service was fast and friendly

One of our favorite places to pop in for a cocktail whenever we're in Sacramento, this time we got the pleasant surprise of an extended late night happy hour.

First time here after finding it on Open Table. Booked a reservation on a midweek night for a friend's bday dinner. Parking was easy. It's located right next to the Mix and tons of street parking since it was a Tuesday. 5/5 Service from Grace as well as a man who I believe was the owner. Cordial, cheerful, checked on us often. There was a large group there for a birthday party, but other than that not very crowded. Grace was fabulous. 5/5 decor and ambiance. It's a wide open space but surprisingly it's not loud. Well decorated and well spaced. 4/5 spicy margarita. I opted away from the jalapeño margarita on the menu as that had Mezcal. It's nice that they have a full bar here. 3/5 complimentary bread and dip. To be fair, I was waiting for my friend and did not eat this fresh, but the ad dip did not have much flavor for us personally. 4.5/5 small bites - crispy carnitas mac & cheese. This was delicious. The cheese on top was crispy and flavorful, (not the carnitas), but we annihilated it and it was a good portion size. 4/5 Caesar salad 3.5/5 New York steak, med rare. Cooked properly with a blue cheese on top. It was good but not great, a bit chewy. Broccolini & the sauce was good. Didn't love the potatoes and wish there was mashed! 4/5 friend had the pan seared steelhead, delish. Crispy top and seasoned well. She swapped the beans out for french fries so it didn't photograph as beautifully, but it tasted fantastic. 5/5 Keylime tart! Super sweet and had a meringue topping, but oh so good!!! Definitely pay it a visit! Easy to book reservations on Open Table. There's also an outdoor patio & great location.

Came here for a family dinner. The inside is very classy and nice. Dim lighting and some nice artwork. We had a reservation and got sat right away. We ordered a couple glasses of wine, a raspberry lemon drop, hibiscus tea and white linen cocktail. The drinks were really good. We got our entrees - pork chop, steelhead, New York steak, burrata salad, and filet mignon skewers and shishito peppers. The food had good flavor, my only complaint was that it came out cold. The fish was cold, the pork chop was rly crispy and warm but not hot/freshly out of the oven etc. We did go there for a family bday dinner. They provided a pistachio tiramisu for the free bday dessert, which was super tasty. Our server and the host were very nice and helpful when ordering.

Chocolate Duet Cake - Dine Downtown

Ambiance: 5/5 dimly lit but very nice and romantic place to take a date and dress up. They had some pleasing music as well. Went during Dine Downtown and it was very busy and kind of our, but still a very nice place with interesting decor Front door Host: 4/5 we made reservations and informed the host in the front. She wasn't rude but not Beth warm or personable and looked a bit confused or frazzled..maybe a new hire? Anyway she offered us wine for our wait and I had asked what kind to start a small convo. She just said red or white. My spouse and I opted to try both. She left for a second and Another host came by to offer us drink but we declined since we already had a sip and didn't want to get too tipsy. He was much more cheery, lively and knowledgeable about the wine and offered the next couple 4 different flavors. We came about 15 mins early, our range was ready in about 10mins Server: 4/5 We had to ask for the dine downtown menu because it wasn't on the table. Thought it was odd because other participating restaurants really promote it. She was friendly, fast and efficient and checked on us a good amount but it was super busy so she darted away quickly. When ready to pay, they pull out an tablet and you pay and tip right away, which is a bit awkward but it's efficient so they aren't going back and forth. Menu: the menu online was smaller than the Dine Downtown menu in person. I'm glad I asked because the in-person menu had way more options to choose from. I feel bad for those who missed out on the 'secret' in person dine downtown menu because some of the stuff we ordered were excellent. Free bread and hummus: 5/5 Most places serve hard top bread but finally, this place gives you soft bread. Easy on the gums and taste light and fluffy Grandmas Fritters: 5/5 light crispy and so good with the dipping sauce. A little squeeze of lemon made it better. Be careful because my was piping hot and I burned my gums. I work break it apart with a fork as try little pieces before biting straight into the ball. Worth it lol Three shores ravioli: 5/5 pasta cooked very well and there were meat chunks in every bite. Sauce was just right. serving size was good New York Steak: 4.5/5 this was not on the dd menu online but appeared on the in-person menu. I decided to try it. steak cooked perfectly. Mash with gravy and broccoli is were seasoned well. Presentation was decent but flavor was really good. since it was Dine Downtown, it looked like they cooked a full steak and then sliced it in half and gave it to another. Chocolate duet cake: 4/5, was not in the original DD online menu. loved the presentation and the cake was moist l, almost jelly like and very good. . Pistachio baklava: 5/5, was not in the original DD online menu. This was amazing and one prob one of the best desserts I've had in a while. The baklava was flaky and crispy, the ice compliments flavor and pistachio crumbles adds texture. The portion was great and shareable since it had three pieces. It wasn't overly sweet but soo delish. I would order this again in a heart beat. Only street Parking which is a bummer and it can be difficult to find and you normally have to pay. We parked across near the park and paid for two hours and it was more than enough. Had to walk 7 mins through the rose garden. I would come 15-20 min early before reservations to look further parking and have enough time to walk. Good thing I had Pashion convertible heels to go flat during my walk. Overall, I had a great experience and really enjoyed the food and ambiance. Dressing up is optional but you won't feel out of place if you decide to. I definitely recommend this place and will be back.

Complimentary bread...if you order more bread you get charged $4

Because I was driving, I got a half pour of their local red using carbonic fermentation. Chatting with the server, I realized that this was just what I needed: a calming respite from walking around while savoring a delicious glass of red. They have a wine membership with two options at $60 for two bottles or $150 for three bottles a month. Lovely concept and space, will be back for sure!

We went on a Wednesday night around 8 PM, it was really chill and there were a few people here and there. They also have an upstairs seating area, which is nice and cozy as well! Service was nice and attentive, when we walked in, we were given a menu about what drinks were being served and we were given a quick overview on the days throughout the week and what events are being held in what music is being played, which is really cool! We were also told they do have a record day where you can come in and bring your own vinyl and they will play it along with other records that customers bring which is so fun! Overall, the place is super small and cozy, great aesthetic and it is in downtown so there isn't a dedicated parking lot.

This hidden gem offers an experience that's unlike anything else in the city. The setup is simple but charming: you literally walk up to a window and order your wine. I believe it's one ring for white, two for red, and three or four for sparkling--don't quote me on that, but it adds a playful, old-world vibe that makes the whole experience memorable. The Wine Window is affordable, laid-back, and surprisingly quaint. It's the kind of place where the ambiance, the people, and the energy make it feel more like an experience within an experience--not just a drink stop. I had the chance to chat with John, the owner, who shared a bit of the backstory. He previously owned a full wine room nearby, but when the pandemic hit, he had to pivot. Instead of calling it quits, he leaned into a smaller, more intimate concept inspired by wine windows in Europe. Honestly, I think the scale makes it even better. The outdoor patio is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine while people-watching on L Street, and yes, there's even a restroom available (a rare but very appreciated amenity for this type of setup). If you find yourself downtown, do yourself a favor--swing by The Wine Window, have a chat with John, and enjoy a unique Sacramento experience.

We really appreciated the fact they sat us together. I ordered a few oysters and oh my goodness were they delicious! Absolutely divine. I loved the brine around the oyster such a delicious treat. My mother-in-law went to find a staff person and they pointed us to a table with a reserved sign. It took awhile before our table was acknowledged, but we did eventually receive menus and have our drink orders taken. This certainly isn't a place to eat when you're in a hurry. Again, there was a lag between our drinks being ordered and coming out to the table. The cocktails themselves were very enjoyable and well crafted. The drinks and some appetizers held us over until dinner came out. Overall, the food turned out to be worth the wait! That was a pleasant surprise after the service started out so roughly. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and that was enough to bring this dinner up from a 3 to a 4 star experience! I really hope they're able to hire in more staff because they serve some great food and beverages.

We got the three course option: antipasti, an entree and dessert. I picked the porchetta tonnato ( pork belly salad) for the antipasti, scallop for entree and ciambella for dessert. They also brought out palate cleansers and complimentary prosecco for our anniversary which was so appreciated. The scallop was the most tender scallop I've ever tasted, it just melts in your mouth and perfectly seared. The ciambella has limocrllo macaropone, so soft and not overly sweet on a layer of olive oil cake. Reservations are a must. I booked a week before hand and there were limited availability. I would definitely come back for a special occasion! The parking lot is TINY but there are plenty of street parking.
