This review is NOT about the store, but rather it is about corporate customer service. First off I love the ice cream, but I probably will not go as often. I am a member of their rewards program which at the moment appears to be in shambles. I have tried repeatedly to port to the new program, but have been unsuccessful. I tried reaching out 4 times via email to support, but other than acknowledging the email I have received NOTHING back. I managed to get a phone number for customer service (which is not in the website), and have tried contacting them that way. Unfortunately, that number brings up the most useless keypad system I have ever encountered. There is no menu to select from, it just says that anything you push is invalid and keeps telling you to select from the non-existent menu. Poor cleanliness. The floor was a complete mess, the grout and baseboards look like they haven't been cleaned in years. Poor service. No greeting, no M&M's that my daughter was so excited about and they didn't even mix in the toppings just sprinkled on top. Deceit. On the counter they only display the regular and large size cups when the small is listed on the menu and should be displayed as well. Well this place is a bit of a mess. Ice cream is decent enough but the staff needs more training. We had a mix up with the order and the person putting together our order put the wrong flavor on top of the first scoop. When we asked her to correct she removed the top scoop leaving smears of the other flavor on top and was going to use the same ice cream till we requested she start over. Isn't this basic, service 101? Then we asked for mango for the second ice cream and were told it's running out. We said it's ok give us what you have and it amounted to half a scoop. They still charged us full price. At least take a dollar off or sell it as a kid's portion. The ice cream was ok, fairly standard. Not a great experience. read more

20 years ago, I remember eating Marble Slab and it amazing..... I just went to this location and the guy working said he closed the toppings already, which was 30 min before closing. That's the whole reason for the Slab is to mix the toppings. I can buy plain ice cream anywhere. I asked if a small comes with 1 scoop, he said yes. I told him which flavor and he scooped 2 small half scoops and preceded to charge me nearly $9 for 2 scoops. I said, we just spoke about 1 scoop. I said, if this is 2 scoops you need to add more ice cream. He did add more. The cone was stale and old. Not worth the price at all. I paid and walked out and sat on bench outside the store. As I was eating it, several other people were there also getting ice cream and half of those people walked out due to no toppings. At 9:30 he turned open sign off and started turning away people that were trying to go in. Then after 5-6 people left, he selectively letting other people come in to buy after already being closed. The guy working the counter is Indian and the people he told the additional topping were closed AND the people that were turned away were all White people. The others that were allowed to come in to buy after store was closed were also Indian (and no it was not his family members). I watched the whole thing happen. The place it dirty, the guy at the counter seemed very unhappy to be there. He acted as if I asked him to help dig a ditch when I ask to sample only 1 flavor. I would not recommend going here. Although the ice cream seemed to taste fine at the right temperature, the cleanliness of this establishment is an entirely different situation. Despite the lack of customers (none directly prior to our arrival), not one table was clean. Chairs were disheveled and unorganized, and the restrooms were disgusting. Walking in, my only thought was that the entire shop smelled saccharine (a little too sugary). The ice cream was pretty average, but watching the mixing process was fun. We were the only customers there, so we got to try everything we wanted and take our time to order. A lot of the flavors were really sweet to me. My sister and I ended up sharing a small cup of sweet cream with strawberries and blueberries. This was my first time having ice cream mixed with the toppings like this, despite the fact that this was probably five ice cream trends ago. It was a hot day, and the cool ice cream was welcome. Unfortunately, despite our attempt to cut through the excessive sugariness with fruit, it was still too heavy and filling and sticky, and I was searching for water after I was done. If you go, I'd recommend sharing with lots of friends so you don't end up eating too much and clogging all your qi. (I kid. Kind of.) read more

As we entered we were told they were closed although there were other people in the store. When stated that their hours listed are open until 10:30 he said yeah well we're still closed. There was a strange odor upon entering, the outdoor sign is off which made us believe the store was no longer open, and there are no signs displaying what flavors are available. I was excited to try this place since it had been years since the Marble Slab in my hometown closed. I walked in with my mother and was underwhelmed by the look of the place. We waited about 10-15min for the young girl to finish up with the customers in front of us. When it was finally our turn, I noticed a lot of the flavors were empty. I ordered a mix of white chocolate and coffee with a Heath and Butterfinger mix in. It was pretty good. My mother ordered a mix of banana and chocolate ice cream with almonds mixed in. The girl ended up mixing in a banana with chocolate chips into the banana ice cream which isn't what we asked for. She then had to redo it and stated that the chocolate ice cream was just made and it was soft. Upon paying for our ice creams, I noticed a ROACH crawling around by the toppings! I was mortified but had already paid. I just wanted out of there. Luckily my ice cream was okay but my mom said hers was nasty. I'm so disappointed!! This place is honestly disgusting. The bathrooms are terrible with bugs. Everything is dusty. They had boxes and boxes of cones that they are obviously reusing and will go stale. I had marshmallows in my ice cream that were stale and inedible. After tasting that I just tossed the ice cream because if they can't even keep that fresh who knows what else is going on here. Clerks no longer have to work to get ice cream out of the buckets ....the ice cream is barely frozen now! They've obviously upped the freezer temp to make the ice cream more "workable". Place did not smell clean to begin with. The ice cream was pretty much melted when it was dipped and was more like soft mush after the mixin' was added in. Ice cream/mush/whatever it was didn't even taste good and was probably old or had been sitting close to some other type of food. Threw most of it in the trash! Waste of money! It's been years since I visited and it will be years - if ever - before I return. The ice cream was foamy & barely frozen which made for a shake-like consistency once mixed with toppings - so, that was a fail. The horrendously over-the-top day-glow artificial colorings of the ice cream was a major turn-off, too (no reason for mint to be army green and marshmallow to be traffic-cone yellow). But THE WORST was after ordering and getting my sugary dairy mush was seeing the filth behind the counter upon sitting down. The waffle cone station was a nightmare and there were ROACHES crawling in plain view on the floor. The Indian Manager woman didn't even appear bothered when I pointed them out and was more concerned about grilling the young counter boy about the cash register receipts than cleaning up the waffle cone station or getting rid of the roaches. My family came here after visiting the pizza place across the lot. That was a better experience than this one was. First off, the ice cream was all very soft. While I can understand having the ice cream soft so as to allow for the mix-ins, after the mix-ins were there it was even softer. I also noticed that there was just one guy working at dinner time and we had a line going out the door before he got done. I didn't notice some of the cleanliness issues mentioned in previous reviews, but they did have all the tables in the lobby dirty and there were multiple chairs gathered around each table. I think that I may come back, but I am not sure, especially after reading some of these other reviews. read more

The shop smelled bad; sad looking place with a filthy bat decoration clinging on to one of the lights; a dust laden stuffed toy hanging from the ceiling; filthy walls; chairs need to be scrubbed. Usually one feels cold in ice cream parlors while this one had me sweating. The ice creams looked melted. When the lady got done with the mix-ins, and tried to turn it in to a round scoop, the ice cream started dripping out of the cone. When I pointed out that the room temperature was high, she said the melting was due to the fruit mix in. She then did another one and ended up doing a repeat performance . I haven't been to Marble Slab in forever but the daughter was in need of a reward and the location was on our way so in we went! The ice cream is as good as I remember and for some reason mixing toppings in make them taste even better! We shared a kids cup - it's about a half a scoop of ice cream and it was just the right amount! We can't wait to go back. This is one of the better Marble Slab locations in the Plano/Frisco/McKinney area. I like their variety of flavors and like the fact that White Chocolate is one that they usually have.
