Service was terrible and the food was wrong. Arrived at restaurant and they sat us in the back and one of the waiters was visibly discusted that we were seated in his section. The other waiter came up to take our order and was not helpful. We only asked that there not be onion on the wraps. The order came out and they both had onions on them. We told the waiter and he took them back. You would think they would re-make the wraps. Oh NO- he came back 2 minutes later and the kitchen had literally just picked the onions out of the wrap. And there were still onions left on it. I mean if I knew that is all they were going to do- I would have done that myself. Also, the wrap had about 2 pieces of meat on it. I have been going to Andy's off and on since 2001. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere and have liked watching the place evolve. Andy and his brother are very nice and once you get to know them it is like you are part of the family. I have been to the Med and the food is as authentic as it gets. Try the Friday night lamb roast.....a whole skewered lamb cooked on the patio. If you ever have something you don't like just speak up and they will make it right or make you something else. I have never had an issue..... even when I ordered the wrong thing and didn't like it. As for the name.....which apparently some people have an issue with I can think of dozens of "Americanized" names for Mediterranean restaurants (and other types) across the country.......why is that an issue? read more

We visited Andy's for the first time in several years, as we were already downtown for a show. The prices are a little higher than I recalled, but we had a discount from Restaurant.com, so it was fair. The chicken kabobs were fantastic. I ordered an extra skewer of grilled veggies and ended up taking 1/2 of my food home for yummy left overs. I do with that there was a chicken and veggie combo, but they were happy to accommodate special requests. They also had several beers on tap, which was an unexpected treat for us. I've been to this place a few times as a friend of a friend of the owners son. I've never been impressed with the atmosphere. I always encounter the owner and son arguing. A few weeks back I saw the owner get angry with his son and dig through the boys date's plate with his fingers. The service for a party of 7 on a Friday night was exceptional. We were attended to well in addition to our server having several other tables around us of big parties. The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable and I cannot say enough positive comments about my experience. The server (1 of 2) took the time to explain the menu choices to my elderly mom and she's a tough one! To have an elderly woman pleased with her experience is a bonus!! andy's is where i want to go when i have some "disposable income." it's such a treat. the servers are nice, the bellydancers are fun and the food is WONDERFUL. it's flavorful and the portions are huge. this food just makes my day. i can tell some families with kids have a hard time eating here. luckily, they have at least 3 rooms if somebody's kid starts having a meltdown. they can accommodate large groups especially when they are given a little warning. overall, the food speaks for itself. read more

I agree with the previous review. I visited Cincinnati a few months ago and being the avid Mediterranean Food and Hookah lover that I am, I found Andys via the internet and decided to try it out. First, let me tell that I am a big fan of Mediterranean food and hookah. I live in Atlanta and we have some awesome places there! Andy definitely needs competition. The food was just ok. I ordered something off of the Lunch menu and was disappointed to find that my chicken shish kebob was served over what appeared to be rice a roni (however rice a roni tastes better). The menu prices were outrageous for Mediterranean food. Which is why they definitely need the competition. I did order hookah as well which was pretty good and the price was definitely good compared to what I am used to paying in Atl. Pricing averages $20.00 per hookah and additional coals are extra. Overall I believe that if Andy had competition he would def have to come off of those high prices. read more

I went to Andy's Mediterranean with my family for my daughter's 18th birthday. This was a perfect night out for us. The food was very delicious. I could have the Hummus everyday. This is a review for the food truck. Food truck was at krohn's today. Ordered two gyro platters at $9 a piece. Guy handed me the food and I went home. Got two plastic containers with the stuff that goes in a gyro and four pieces of sliced up gyro bread, at least I think it was the gyro bread but I have never had it sliced up. How am I supposed to make a gyro with sliced up gyro bread? Did not get the pita bread, hummus or veggies that it listed on the white board on the outside of the truck as being part of the platter. So overall very disappointed. If I had gotten everything I paid for it might have been worth $18, but what I got was not $18 worth of food. Young guy working was more interested in telling me about the belly dancers and the hookah's at the restaurant than getting my order right. read more

I had made a reservation for our party of 6. When we arrived, they didn't have our table ready even though they were basically empty. I think the gentleman that waited on us was the owner, not sure, but he acted like we were a pain in the a$$ whenever we asked for more napkins or water. The food was okay, but I've had better. Once the meal was dropped off we didn't hear from our waiter again until we waived him down for the bill. There was another waiter that was wondering around, but he was very good at making sure to never make direct eye contact so that he wouldn't have to help us in any way. If you don't want to make money, then why be open?? I'm very dissapointed in the service. I would have gone back again if the service was better, but I see no point, they obviously don't want my business. read more

I'd give this place zero stars if I could. The owner is absolutely horrible. We partnered with the owner, Andy, and his food truck for a charity event to raise funds for a local cancer charity. At the event, we received feedback that he was absolutely horrible and rude to all customers (many of whom are cancer patients or former cancer patients). He then left early and drove off right in the middle of a quiet "tribute" ceremony. And worst of all - he then reneged on his promise to donate to the charity. Prior to the event, he signed a contract that said he would donate a certain amount of his profits that day to the charity we were raising funds for, and he didn't and instead kept all of the money for himself. People were specifically purchasing his product because they were told a percentage would go back to the charity, but then he wouldn't even respond to repeated calls or emails until we asked the charity to have an attorney track him down. And he STILL never donated. Absolutely awful. Don't support this business. Multiple other food trucks were at the event and were absolutely wonderful and donated more than they even originally committed to because they said the event and cause were so great. This guy is just inexcusably reprehensible. read more

I am from a Lebanese family and the food does not even come close to the way it should taste. They over power the grape leaves and tabouleh with lemon juice and olive oil. The Kibbeh was way over cooked to the point it was black. If anyone at Andy's reads this review. Please make a trip to Raleigh, NC and eat at Sittee's. The atmosphere is incredible and so is the food. The chefs were taken to Lebanon and learned first hand from the cooks. The bread should not be so heavy on the inside-it should be smooth. Please send one of you people there and try their Kibbeh, Hummus, tabouleh, pita, and any of the foods on the menu as they are all exceptional. Just like home.. read more

We made reservations for a Sunday night but they were absolutely not necessary. We were the only people in the restaurant for most of our meal. Based on previous Yelp reviews, we ordered the hummus as an appetizer and it was very good, creamy with nice flavor. It paired nicely with the fresh pita bread served with it. My husband ordered the Gyro wrap and I had the kibbeh. Both entrées came out before we finished our salads. I though the kibbeh was just OK, a little dry and lukewarm, but the cup of sauce with it was delicious. Portions were extremely generous, so we asked for boxes to take the hummus and our leftovers home. The server was very friendly and prompt and we liked the ambience. But we would not go out of our way to go there again, since there are plenty of places closer to us that serve similar food for less money. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! I found glass in my food here- literally a piece of glass. After seeing the piece of glass, the manager accused me of lying about how it got in my food! If I could give this negative stars, I would. Do not waste your money or time at this horribly managed, unsanitary restaurant. As if the incompetent staff is not enough, the food was also unappetizing. I'd really like to give this place a half-star. I made reservations for my party of five, seeing Saturday night can be busy. The hostess was nice but when I mentioned our reservation, she ignored it and walked us right to a table. The hostess brought our waters but it took another 10-15 minutes before the server came over. By that time we were ready to order our food. We got the large sampler, $24, which was not worth the price. I ordered the greek salad and what came out was a larger side salad that cost $13. I decided to mention the size/cost to the server (who said he had 2.5 years experience there) and his response was, "I don't know what you want me to do about it." The chicken was dry and the vegetable saute was $21 of gelatinous goo. I had to use the restroom at one point, but the owner was blocking the door way, made no attempt to move, and didnt say excuse me. Feels like the owner has recently lost interest in this restaurant and is treating it like a cash cow. Overpriced food wouldn't be a problem if you were to get food and service worth your money. Food is mediocre, not even a hit and miss, it's all miss. I mean considering mixed grill is their one of the most expensive dishes and features most of their kebabs, it is a pretty good way to sample the food. lamb kebabs were tough and chewy, dried out and lacked the great flavor that you experience in other Mediterranean restaurants. Chicken kebab is actually disgusting and if you complain about it their response is that, "that how their marinade tastes". Servers are disinterested in earning their tip, probably because most people hate the food and service there. And on two occasions two different waiters were quite condescending to female guests specifically. The Taste of Cincinnati and other professional reviews is a fast fading glory for Andy's and I can see this place going out of business in a couple of short years if the owner does not wake up and smell the crappy food. Andy, sir, go visit other Mediterranean restaurants and learn how it is done. For now I am done with giving this place a try after try and you should do so to. If you crave good Mediterranean food, I highly recommend Cafe Mediterranean or even Turquoise (Istanbul Cafe) in the downtown. read more

Overpriced. Overpriced. Overpriced. That's all I can say. The awful taste of the food does not justify the prices charged for the mushy reheated 'food' that gets pushed out of that kitchen. The menu's offerings are boring. All but one of the appetizers felt like they were heated and thawed in a microwave. They were unedible mush and sent back to the kitchen. The appetizers were seriously some of the most grotesque things I've ever been served. Anything that got deep fried, was over fried and cold mush in the center. Not to mention that they were oozing fryer oil. We ordered beef and chicken kabobs for our entrees. The flavor was good but they only came with a side of dry rice for $24. My date loved the flavor of his $30 lamb shank but not the price. It also was only served with minute rice. I've eaten here on many occasions but this is certainly my last visit. The belly dancers were an embarrassment. They usually are. There are so many other mediterranean spots to eat in the city that are fairly priced and actually have great food.
