There was a car blocking the driveway with a dead battery and he went out of his way to get the car started so we could move it. Called Andy's towing and answered quick. I asked him how much he would charge to tow my Honda civic from emeryville to San Leandro. He said $120. I had called 2 other companies and both said $200. Andy told me he would arrive in 20-30 minutes and he did. The date was 02/04/2024 it was a super rainy day. He got there and loaded my car quick and Easy. I got a really bad flat on my passenger side and had to pull over on the freeway in Oakland going towards SF. Found Andy's service online and gave him a call and he picked up immediately. He told me 40 minutes he'd get to me but took about 55 minutes because the gps couldn't detect that I was on the freeway and not on the street but I wasn't in any rush today. Took me to a tire shop he knew in Berkeley and kept telling me funny stories the whole way there. Really funny guy, and his tow price was cheaper than the other companies. My car wouldn't start and I needed help. Andy does NOT know what he's doing, and couldn't even figure out my parking brake. But worse than that was that he spent the entire ride over ranting about completely inappropriate things, like how "women in abusive relationships deserve to die". I just met Andy tonight after what could have become a catastrophe if he hadn't been there. Long story short I had my car up on stands while working on a brake. Surface wasn't flat (yes I'm an idiot) and it began to shift as I raised it to put the wheel back on. At one point it fell off my jack and even pitched towards me. After stabilizing it I needed someone who could help me come up with a way to jack the car back up so I could get the wheel on. Two other tow companies wouldn't even bother to come out and take a look, but Andy was here in 30 minutes and within 5 more I had my wheel back on. He knew exactly how and where to jack so the car wouldn't continue to pitch, and saved me easily thousands if it rolled, and maybe even a serious injury. A unique call for him I'm sure, but I instantly felt better once he got here. I'll be going to Andy only from here out and suggest you do too. read more

He's quote was reasonable and fair. He's suggestion for the auto mechanic (JT Automotive) was excellent and fair. Only improvement I suggest is to reduce being overly chatty. He asked personal questions that were unrelated to the business of towing my truck. As a young female, I prefer not to share personal info about my martial status, whether I am single or have children to a stranger who I am hiring for a business service.
