I must say my food was really tasty. I usually get my fish platters from Off the Hook Seafood and A'Net's just gave them a run for their money. The fish was really good, the batter was well seasoned and not too bready. The fish was nice and flaky. The onion rings were a little soggy but I think it's because they put them under the fish in the container - but the flavor was on point. The green beans were cool, nothing spectacular but considering how many other places don't season their green beans, these were ok. I believe they flavor them with pork. We went here for the crabs and they were delicious!!! I like how this is a seafood market and little restaurant. You can either get fresh raw seafood to go or have them cook it and bring it to you, or order takeout and they cook it fresh for you. The staff was nice. I got a Living Social (or Groupon) deal here, so the price was right to try some Seafood! Then I looked at the Yelp Reviews, wow, not good! But all well over a year old, maybe I can freshen up their rating with a new, positive, Review. Well I'm really 50/50 on this place. I mean, we aren't on the beach, we're in Knightdale, so I give them a big plus for bringing in some fresh seafood and coastal atmosphere to the area. And from what I could tell, most of it IS fresh! Beautiful Oysters and Clams, whole Shrimp, blue crab, gosh I wish I could remember it all. However some items were packaged and could very well have been previously frozen, which is okay for me, at least it is an option, but others may be very strict with straight off the boat-ness of their seafood. The place was pretty packed with locals, apparently it IS a favorite in the area, I can vouch for all the happy folks coming in and leaving with big bags of either hot, made to order seafood (bang-bang-shrimp for one), or huge net bags of craggly looking Oysters. (sold in a "peck" or something? not sure.) The place is clean and the Service was friendly, they processed folks through the line constantly while we were there. We were lucky to get a booth because there are only about 7 booths so if they are full you are outta luck! On to the Food... eh. From what we had, and what we saw others having, they overcook everything there! They need to take the food out of the fryer about 2 minutes earlier, and even my Almond Crusted Mahi should have come off the grill a minute or two sooner. Sigh. Its like... they have all the makings of a great place, but they need to actually COOK better!! The sides (I had cole slaw and a crab salad) are in tiny 4 oz. styrofoam cups, it would have been nicer to have a nicer sized scoop of each. Speaking of food, the Tarter Sauce comes in little plastic tubs with peel off lids! Yes, pre-packaged. Come on, if they made their own Tarter Sauce (and probably same goes for Cocktail Sauce) it would bring up ANYONE's opinion of this place (and save them money!). The tubs say a lot, unfortunately. We brought 2 big fat Crab Cakes home to go and I cooked them the next day and served them for 2 of us on a big green salad with some french bread. They were loaded with crab and had very little fillers, so we were all very happy with this purchase from A'Nets. With a little guidance from a real Seafood Chef who could update the menu and teach them a more gentle and lighter method of cooking, I think they could get some 5 star reviews here. I would try them again as is, but I'd be very happy to go back if they could improve on their cooking techniques and show some pride in making their own home made seafood sauces. read more

A MUST STOP! So happy that we found this gem of a restaurant. If you love seafood and are hungry, this hole-in-the-wall place is your place. From the outside it looks like a store that sells seafood, but when you enter you see the booths for seating. The fresh seafood is showcased as you walk in and you will be blown away by variety of selection. You can order off menu or get your pick of fish or crab from the ice case. They also have crawfish and alligator too. The selection was truely impressive. I had the breaded stingray, which is great (if you like a strong seafood taste). Very disappointed. After reading great reviews we drove 30 min to try it. Ordered clam strips, popcorn shrimp, green beans, cole slaw, 2 cheddar biscuits, and homemade chips. This was all from two combination plates. They left out one of our biscuits so we had to split the only one we got. That was fine, but the food was so so salty!! The clams were breaded way too much and drenched in grease. The homemade chips were placed under the shrimp which meant they got soggy. The shrimp was average....better than the clams since there wasnt as much breading but they were very soggy. I threw the clams in the trash after eating a small handful. The clams, shrimp, and chips tasted like the oil used to fry it was old....just really bad. The green beans and cole slaw were good. The service was good and portions were great for the price. I won't return here but give it a shot...everyone has different tastes when it comes to food. I love fried seafood....I just really disliked the breading used here. We just moved to the area and decided to give this place a try. I had a craving for fried fish and I got the cat fish and clam strips with corn bread and green beans and fried okra. Wow! Everything was excellent. I'm from Cape Cod and I was surprised how fresh and well seasoned the food was. I was most skeptical about the clam strips but they were amazing! We also had the flounder and broccoli and both were delicious. The place was very clean and the staff were some of the nicest people we've come across so far. They were doing a lot of take out business and were very busy but their attention to detail didn't suffer at all. They were attentive and caring. We will be back for sure! read more

I went to this establishment on the recommendation of my parents and do not wish to go again. The first time my parents went and had a good experience. The second time was okay for them. Then the third time supposedly the owner was there and helped my mom with her order. It was not pleasant. The encounter was uncomfortable, and she was charged twice for a large order. Then my brother and I went and after a long wait, we went home with an overpriced supposedly two pounds of crab legs. We were not informed of the shortage yet charged the full price and given no official receipt. Then the staff tried to charge us for sauces that we did not know we needed to order with our order. Well Crap! With over 60 reviews what is one more 5 Star to increase the ever increasing crowd at this place! We have been to A'Nets quite a few times and each time it hits home. I will state IMO that A'Nets is one of the best seafood holes around, being around that is not close to the coast. For starters, there are ZERO reservations an about 12 tables give or take in the place, it will fill up! Scratch that it is always filled. Take out is huge here and non stop. On one visit my wife and I ordered as take out and went to the car and had a scenic dashboard console dinner!!! If you want take out, call then go. As they say they don't have any food heaters at this place. My staple here is the grilled Cat Fish. Just love those old ugly bottom dwellers. Oh!, throw in a cup of the Velveeta Style Mac and Cheese and Red Taters and you cannot go wrong. When in Knightdale make it A'Nets! Keep an eye out as it's hidden off 64. Such a pleasant surprise! It was a little confusing walking in, but completely worth the effort. The seafood was so fresh and perfectly cooked. The calamari ranked with the best I have ever eaten! Portions were large and generous. Service was kind and adequate. I was worried about the wait, since it was packed but we got a table with no problem and our food came out quickly. Great service served in about 30 minutes,food was very good sanitation rating was 97.0% clean although they had lobster sitting where all the fish are displayed to be sold/cooked,I don't recommend eating the lobster deadly bacteria grow really quickly on lobster and for it to be sitting out like that just makes me think of having food poisoning. The young lady in the blue shirt with braids (not saying her name here) had the nerve to roll her eyes several times because she didn't like the fact that I knew what I was ordering and she didn't want to accept the fact the kitchen or her made a mistake when making my meal. Great seafood place with MANY FRESH options as well as a variety of house made dipping sauces. The fried jumbo and bite sized shrimp platters are a great choice! On Fridays and Saturdays they have Shrimp and grits that are my favorite dish here. Fresh in house stuffed crabs and huge stuffed mushrooms that are also both super delicious. I have been looking for a good seafood spot for a while. The usual spots I go to are way out of the way for me, and are usually overpriced for the quality and quanity. A-Net's Katch however was a refreshing relief for my wallet, and my appetite. I saw a review on Yelp so I figured I'd give it a try today. The fish was seasoned/breaded very well. The fish was fresh but not so fresh as to have an overpowering fishy taste, which is good. The shrimp and ocra were also very good. I also thought it was cool how they sell fresh fish/crabs/shrimp and the seasoning/breading right in the restaurant, so you can fry/bake the fish at home if you so desire to do so. The absolute ONLY thing keeping me from giving this a 5 star is that both my fried flounder AND my fried whiting had more than a couple of pin-bones. Pin-bones are my pet-peeve especially when eating fish that is supposed to have been filleted. I know this is almost unavoidable so don't listen to my bias. I just had a bad experience swallowing a Pin bone as a kid and it scarred me for life. But that said, I will still without a doubt keep going here. I am glad I found this place. The fish tastes amazing and it is good on my wallet without having to go way out of my way to get it! You definitely need to visit this place read more

The service or should I say lack of service that I recently experienced was abysmal at the very least. It took an additional 30 minutes after the quoted 30 minutes for me to pick up my online order. So in total, an hour for a fish sandwich, a fish plate, and a child's order (which they didn't complete...) On top of this, the customer facing staff with the exception of one, was extremely rude and ignored my request to be refunded since my order wasn't ready and I had already paid online. A manager was never sought, and the overall attitude was like it sucked to be me and oh well. Even in the times of Covid and places being understaffed, there is no excuse for rudeness. Customer service is what keeps a business afloat in both good and bad times. And since I apparently didn't matter to them as a customer then, I shall never be one again. Bottom line, if you want just the basic decorum as a paying customer, do not go here. It is hard to have an honest opinion about the quality and taste of the food, if you're insulted and treated badly before you ever get your food.
