Carolina Fish Fry Company was just okay. It didn't really wow me. I ordered the seafood platter and swapped the popcorn shrimp for jumbo shrimp, which cost a little extra, and I also got a sweet tea. The drinks only come in one standard size cup, no choice of small, medium, or large, which I thought was a little strange. The food itself was just okay, but for the price I don't really feel like it was worth it.

I was here a week ago I do Not recommend the stuffed carbs- the mix would probably have been fine but all 5 of mine were in brittle shells! The shell pieces were through out them. This week I went again and tried the scallops- the were so over cooked it was like rubber- the okra and hush puppies were delicious. The fried shrimp was good. Service is quick and efficient.

Great little place to go and grab some seafood! My mom suggested this place to me and I'm happy she did. The seafood is always cooked perfectly, the batter light and crispy. Absolutely love it. The French fries are always cooked beautifully. Hush puppies are great! Cole slaw not too sweet. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is their drive thru. Depending on the day, it moves extremely slow. You will be sitting there for quite some time.

OMG! This is a must stop. Their food is just so fresh and tasty that I almost forgot to take pictures of my food. You just can't get seafood like this unless you're at the beach. The place was crowded, but it took less than 10 mins to get our food once we ordered. They have grilled options along with a burger, so I'm going to have to try these items next time. We did take an order to go because it was just that good! The service was friendly and I appreciated how they bought our food to the table.

Carolina Seafood Platter

This was for a dine-in for an early lunch. I did the Carolina Seafood Platter and most parts were very good: Flounder, popcorn shrimp, oysters, puppies &coleslaw. What didn't impress were the fried scallops(?) and the french fries. The crab cakes are served in-shell and were so-so. They are a shredded-crab affair, and not lump meat crab cakes. Overall, the food was fried with care and served hot. I would have given this place a four or five-star rating if it weren't for the fact they don't brew iced tea (and other staff problems listed below). The tea is premade like uncarbonated Hi-C although it's made to look like it's brewed in house. One taste and you'll know. For a restaurant that hand-breads most (if not all) their food, to not spend the few minutes to brew iced tea seems out of place. The other reasons I couldn't rate it higher were due to the staff. The guy who ran the food out to the guests could not keep his pants pulled up. Seeing his well-worn plaid underpants was not good. If I had seen that as I came in, it would have been a "Nope!" and I would have walked back out. I don't care how proud you were in prison, or how hard it is to meet like-minded people in the Covid-19 era, you need to not expose yourself like that at work. The other staff enigma was how one young man in full Carolina Fish Fry uniform was standing outside under a tree dancing by himself. You've got cars in line for the (slow moving) drive-through and this guy could care less because, by doG, he is going to dance, dance, dance with his earphones in. Baffling. It was not far past 11am when I got there so things were still quite clean (excepting the shorts of the aforementioned food runner). Tables and floors looked great and the restroom was good, too. The part of the kitchen you could see from the register looked well cared for. I liked all the fishing/dock/wharf decorations, as it added a nice touch. I would have liked to see a cajun seasoning, but that's my own preference. Parking looked just fine, and parking lot was cleaner than most. With the scarcity of affordable seafood joints in the area, this place serves a mean combination platter. Things seem fried to order, so the little bit of a wait is tolerable. Hopefully there'll be some staff turnover and the restaurant and its food can shine without people shaking their "agendas" at work.

The fish was tasty but the sides were underwhelming. I would go again and just order fish/shrimp.

Fast and really good. Not a ton of ambiance but we go for good tasting foods and that's what you get.

It was just okay. I was desperate for seafood. I should have headed to A'net's Catch in Knightdale.

This is the McDonalds version of seafood. It's inexpensive but you get what you pay for.

Food kinda like what I could produce in my kitchen, and I'm not much of a cook. Needs more fresh ingredients.

It does tend to get busy, so you may have a little wait for your food, but it's definitely worth it. The shrimp Rasta pasta was creamy, flavorful, and had the perfect amount of spice, plus they give a generous portion of shrimp. The fried fish was cooked well and tasted great, and the steamed vegetables with the garlic butter seasoning were also really good. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

We sat outside this day, as the weather was mild and there wasn't any available seats inside. We ordered a fried combo and a grilled combo. TrySeafood does a lot of things right. Portion size was fairly generous. We especially love the fact they serve cleaned jumbo shrimp. Food was cooked well, shrimp was tender as was scallops. The broccoli was not tender crisp nor mushy. The potatoes and corn were delicious. While service was friendly, it was a bit slow. Also, I'm not an Old Bay fan. The grilled shrimp were seasoned with Old Bay. While the fish was crispy, I prefer a cornmeal dredge to a flour dredge. Finally, (and this could have been a me thing) the tip percentage on the screen doesn't align with the math. I intended to tip 15% - which is standard especially considering slow service. That should have been approx $8 and when I got home I realized it was approximately $16. You're not given a printed receipt and if you're in a rush and going through the process quickly it's easy to miss. Again I may have missed something, but I'm pretty sure I selected the %15 option. Additionally, I've seen other restaurants that have intentionally include this practice. Would I go again, sure. I'd request a different seasoning blend or a light seasoning and check that math! We were only in Raleigh for a short family trip and wanted one memorable dinner. After reading the…read morereviews, we decided on The Crunkleton--and it exceeded our expectations. We arrived on a busy Sunday evening without a reservation and were told the wait would be about 40 minutes. Instead of simply putting us on a list, Alfredia, the host, immediately made us feel welcome. She even offered me a cup of ice water after noticing we'd walked over in the summer heat. A few minutes later, she found a way to get our family seated much sooner than expected. That small act of kindness set the tone for the entire evening. Our server, Toni, was exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic, he guided us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations. Every suggestion was spot-on, and it was obvious he knew the menu well. The food was outstanding. The Duck Flautas were a great start. The She-Crab Soup was rich and flavorful. The Wagyu Burger with caramelized onions, truffle aioli on brioche was excellent--my son says it's the best burger he's ever had. The Mediterranean Chicken Piccata was beautifully prepared with confit fingerling potatoes, charred asparagus, goat cheese, sun-dried tomato tapenade, and piccata sauce. We were so busy enjoying dinner that we completely forgot to take photos until dessert--which probably says everything. The Beignets with cold brew icing were excellent, and the warm Brownie with salted caramel ice cream was the perfect ending to the meal. What also impressed us was that Chef Jonathan stopped by our table to check on our meal, and Ravin, the General Manager, took time to welcome us personally and make sure everything about our visit was going well. We never felt rushed. Great food may bring people through the door. Great hospitality is what brings them back. The Crunkleton gave our family one of those dinners we'll remember long after the trip is over. The atmosphere is stylish without feeling pretentious, the service is genuinely warm, and it's clear that everyone there takes pride in what they do. If you're visiting Raleigh--or if you're fortunate enough to live there--I would absolutely recommend giving The Crunkleton a try. We left talking not only about how much we enjoyed the meal, but also about the people who made the evening special. Thank you to Alfredia, Toni, Chef Jonathan, Ravin, and everyone behind the scenes for making a simple family dinner into such a memorable experience. We absolutely will be back.

I'd heard so many positive things about the Chapel Hill location after moving to the area, but never made it over there. When they opened a location much closer to home, I was thrilled to finally give it a try without having to trek across town. The food has been consistently good, the cocktails are well-made, and the service is generally solid. That said, the experience can be a little hit-or-miss at times. I've visited several times now, and there have been occasions where the pacing felt off. Shareable dishes sometimes arrive at awkward intervals, creating a game of table Tetris, and I've seen situations where most of a party receives their meals while one person is left waiting. I suspect it's largely dependent on how busy they are and perhaps still some lingering growing pains. Pro tip: I've had some of my best experiences sitting at the bar. Service tends to feel more attentive, and it's a great spot to enjoy both the food and cocktails.

It is a small order counter and looks like cafeteria seating inside. We ordered 4 plates and clam chowder. We all shared and tried everything. Got catfish, cod, bass, shrimp, and flounder. All the fish was great but the cod and catfish are by far a family favorite. Shrimp was amazing. The clam chowder was perfectly seasoned. I am the only fan of hush puppies and I enjoyed them. If you like hush puppies they are made well crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The coleslaw was the only damper on the meal. It tasted like wet cabbage no seasoning. If you've seen any of my other reviews you know I'm a fan of good coleslaw. So this was disappointing to say the least. And like all places I've visited we had the good southern hospitality.
