Peppers is so awesome. It was not packed at all. The food was awesome. I had a Diet Coke and chicken taquitos with rice and beans. My parents had the crispy tacos with a margarita. My mom had a chili relleno. The staff did a great job.. my taquitos with the rice and beans was delicious and flavorful. The chips and salsa was great too. While meeting a friend at the Bloomington Courtyard to pick up an item I had ordered. We decided to go to lunch, he wanted to try Peppers Cantina I was a little reluctant because the last time I had eaten there, it was not a good experience. But he was in a hurry so we tried it. The experience was once again not good. I ordered a veggie burrito with beans inside the burrito with no rice. I repeated the no rice twice. What I got was a burrito filled with rice a very small amount of onions and peppers. No beans. The young man that served us apologized, and said he was hard of hearing and there machine was broken so the order had to be hand written. He mumbled something about the cook. This place is a joke you go in and it kind of smells like stale grease and everything feels like it has a coating of grease on it There was nobody in the restaurant and it was noon and I ordered the cheese enchilada with rice and beans. About 10 minutes later a girl comes and presents me with the enchilada on a cold plate in the enchilada look like it was squished down and dry. I used my fork to cut it, and it was hard to cut. The rice and beans weren't bad, but I think some young girl in the kitchen cooked this. I'm thinking it was my waitress that cooked it. You pay a service tip but they don't include anything, no napkins, no anything..... how do you have Mexican, including chips and NO salsa! Let alone no tortilla's with your fajitas. More empty tables than filled, wasn't due to them being busy. Queso was a tub of white cheese, nothing else. The service here was very comforting! It was our first time in utah. I was expecting a lot of unfriendly stares walking into a place w all white peeps. The complimentary chips were definitely not baked in house, they were definitely store bought!! This place is very bright and open! The service is quick and friendly. I had the AWESOME Beso shredded chicken chimichanga!! This is the "small" version with one tortilla, you can have it made two though. I had the best diet coke that I have had in a restaurant in a long time! Second, the service was slow third the food was not great at all. My child would not even eat the chicken nuggets or french fries. My husband ordered crispy tacos, and a burrito from the combo menu their green sauce is literally just and cilantro. It's more of a chutney if anything. One day my wife wasn't feeling too hungry, so she just had a single grilled chicken taco. No rice, no beans, just a single grilled chicken taco a la carte. $9. I had two grilled chicken tacos, rice and beans for $14. When I saw the $9 charge for a single taco, I thought it must have been a mistake. Nope, that's what the server told me they charge for a single grilled chicken taco. Maybe it was a mistake or maybe that's what they actually charge. It's not included on the menu. One the trip home from a vacation we stopped in at Pepper's Catina. My wife's name is Pepper so how could we resist? The restaurant has an American football motif and plays countryusic which seems weird for a Mexican restaurant, but hey why not. -=The Good=- -The inside looked new and clean. Plenty of tables and open space. -Even though our waitress was still learning the menu she was nice and helpful. -The Chili Relleno, although not the best I have had was an actual stuffed chilie! -=The Bad=- -We sat at the front waiting for someone to help us. Multiple employees walked by and nobody said anything to us. Just avoided eye contact and walked by. Finally moments before we were ready to leave someone helped us. -The plates were scratched plastic. Weird for a Mexican restaurant where the plates usually come to the table hot. -The cheese in my enchiladas was not even melted. -They were out of Diet Coke. -Market price for Guacamole?? Really. I'm pretty sure they will make enough on the guac even when advocados are at their peak price. -=The Ugly=- -We asked for cheese on the Chimichanga. We were charged $1.50 for a little dusting of cheese. Literally a tablespoon of cheese. Conclusion They have all the pieces in place for a good restaurant, but have come short when it comes to execution.
