    Chicken Paradiso Sandwich

I ordered Uber eats for dinner. I had the Chicken Paradiso sandwich and side Caesar. The sandwich was very flavorful but was on a huge bread roll. I had the other half for left overs. It would have been really good on their lavash roll. The Caesar salad was good, very traditional.

Very low-key pizza spot off to the side. Almost missed it! I walk in and am teleported to a different time; a much older vibe in there. Overall, I was very unsure of what type of quality I'd receive from the food there. To my surprise, my pepperoni pizza was HUGE and CHEESYYY!!!! My calzone was also off the charts cheesy and delicious. Very instagram-worthy (check out my photos to see what I mean). But do you want to know what's even more of a surprise? Their bacon cheese waffle fries. It was my favorite thing there!! Why? They bake it so it's extra crispy. I couldn't help myself eating waffle fry after waffle fry. After my meal, the owner greets me and tells me Angelico has been open for years and is a classic to the DMV area. A classic establishment with super cheesy pizza and the best bacon cheese waffle fries. BRAVO ANGELICO!

Their steak and cheese hit the spot. Way tastier than I thought it was going to be. Cheesy, meaty, and juicy, it made my hunger dissipate in a second. Their pizza was average, nothing special and the chocolate cake was ehh, but def get the sandwich.

I loved the variety of food they have here at Angelico's! One of my favorites was the calzone. It was super huge and cheesy :) I also had their eggplant sandwich and portobello sandwich, Spinach and feta triangles that were super crispy, and pizza (half prosciutto and half vegetarian). I love how they have the half half option for their pizza! View my page for more! https://www.instagram.com/p/CIjuu34FSsJ/?igshid=8blgfnbfqu62

Angelico has such a wide selection! I went in expecting only pizza. It's carbs galore. Check out the pics for all the food!

Angelico has the BEST pizza in DC! It's family-owned, Italian style pizza and the sandwiches are the bomb. The delivery is quick and easy (usually ~45 min) but we usually go to eat there, they have cute outdoor seating perfect for a summer day :) the beer selection is a plus! The staff is friendly and give great recommendations (try the chicken paradiso sandwich!). We've always had a good experience with Angelico, it's a great choice for tasty local food :)

Notice how the portion is so small it doesn't even cover the bottom of the container. It is usually filled to the top.

I go to Angelico, not for pizza, but for pasta. Pasta every time. My office moved near this location in 2009, so I've been going there over 13 years. I get either the pesto pasta or the baked futility each time. Today I got the pesto pasta and carried it across the street to my office. I opened the container and found a half portion of pasta. (The pasta did not even cover the bottom of the container!) I immediately called and asked when did they reduce the amount of pasta. The woman who answered could not answer any questions (you would think staff would be knowledgeable). I evidentiary spoke to the "chef" (not that Angelico is a restaurant who hires a chef, more like a line cook). He claimed that they have never reduced the amount of pasta. I told him I received a half portion. He said I could bring it back for a remake (I didn't need a remake because I know the flavor is great). He finally agreed to accommodate me on a future visit. Be aware of you have a take out order to ensure you are getting a full order! Oh ... and by the way ... the garlic bread (slice of garlic pizza) was old and hard instead of the way a piece of pizza should be!

I luv Angelico's Tenley circa 2005. I went there for lunch today with two coworkers and ordered my usual, a small basic b Greek salad. The greens are nothing to write home about, but the dressing is an A+ vinaigrette and the portion size is good (for a small). Also, I opted for fountain diet coke today (BONUS!). The fountain soda is well carbonated, so I appreciate that. I am leaving a review because the owner (I presume) threw in a free slice of garlic bread. This small gesture made both my hour and my entire day. Thank you owner. One thing to note is that the garlic bread is less like bread and more like pizza. Please see photo.

My favorite thing to order here on hot summer days is the caesar salad and a couple of cheese slices. Cheese slices look like pizza, but they lack the sauce. They are a real bargain at just $0.75 each! The beer is cold and they have so many choices! The staff is super friendly here. Also, they provide paper straws to be eco friendly. I recommend this spot to all my friends!

They had a special prix-fixed menu for Valentine's Day priced at $98 per person. I thought this was a great deal considering how much food they serve you. My wife also got the wine pairing for $45- you get four glasses of wine, so it's a good deal. Natalia was our waitress and she was great. She was very friendly and service as usual was spot on. I opted for a la carte and got our usual Grilled Spiced Wild Calamari - still delicious and the Pappardelle. This is one of my favorite dishes here. Most of the pasta dishes here are really good, so you can't go wrong with any of those selections. For the special Valentine's Day menu, the Beef Tartare & Smoked Bone Marrow and the Roasted Lobster Fra Diavolo was definitely the highlight of the evening. The beef tartare was sitting on top of the bone marrow, and they served a really large piece of bone marrow! The Roasted Lobster Fra Diavolo needs to be on the regular menu- it was that good. The lobster tasted like it was cooked sous-vide because it was so light and tender. This dish also came with Key West Shrimp. The Squid Ink Tagliatelle pasta was al dente - just perfect. However, I've noticed during each visit that the staff changes frequently, and we often see new faces. The servers and hosts are usually friendly, but it seems they either forget to check on us or are too busy to do so regularly. This has been a consistent issue during our visits. Although the restaurant is not overly busy, it is quite large and has multiple separate seating areas. It's possible that our server was preoccupied with other tables that we couldn't see. My daughter often feels frustrated during our visits since we don't allow her to use electronic devices like many other parents do. Despite this, she still enjoys the restaurant, the food, and the friendly staff. It's unfortunate that they don't serve warm bread and olive oil like many other Italian restaurants do. We love the seafood and all the pasta dishes, having tried them all. My favorite is Fabio's ravioli, while the grilled octopus, grilled calamari, and Branzino are also top choices. Overall, the food is good, but it is a bit pricey, and the service needs to improve. I don't mind paying higher prices, but I expect good service in return.

After an hour and a half wait, our order arrived hot and well-packed. Let me say - SO MUCH FOOD. About 3/4 of the food wasn't eaten because there was so much! We could have easily split one entree and feel bad so much went to waste (our hotel does not have mini-fridges in their rooms). For entrees, we ordered the bolognese and chicken Marsala. The Marsala was a hard no - there was almost zero sauce and flavor; we basically received two chicken breasts with a few mushrooms on top of unsauced spaghetti. The bolognese, however, was delicious! Very rich, served with fettuccini. Would have enjoyed more with Parmesan cheese on top. We received salads with each entree, and the dressings tested homemade and were delicious! A side of broccoli may have been the best broccoli I've ever had from a restaurant. Also included was grilled bread, but we passed on the bread due to the abundance of the rest of the food. Our order arrived without utinsils or napkins, which was disappointing (and challenging). We were able to beg utensils from our hotel, but I would reconsider ordering from them again due to that. Overall, a hit and miss order that came in at a higher than average (for us) price.
