We come here every year for dinner on my mom's birthday and it's always fantastic. This year was no exception and was a great ending to her 70th birthday. The Alfredo is my go-to, but tonight I was also in the mood for a breaded chicken cutlet...figured it couldn't hurt to ask what the chances were that I could get both...NO PROBLEM whatsoever! I hate leaving bad reviews but Unfortunately this restaurant severely fails at the 2 most important staples for owning an Italian restaurant: the marinara and the pasta. My wife and I met a friend for dinner on a very busy Friday night. We had reservations for 7:30 p.m., but we did not get seated until about 8:00 p.m. There was no choice but to use their valet service for a $5 charge. It was added on to your total bill. We began our meal with the Caesar salad, the Mediterranean salad, and the house salad. The house salad was very basic but others mentioned how good their salads were. Portions were generous. We also had an order of the garlic bread which was gigantic and smothered with mozzarella. I heard it was good and our friend took it home at the end of the meal. Our entrées included the spaghetti with sweet sausage, spaghetti puttanesca, and the shrimp scampi over linguine. The spaghetti with sausage was good enough. It came out with 2 very long sausage links. The sauce was good. My wife thought her spaghetti puttanesca was bland and the one I make at home was much better. However, it was not mentioned this was a spicy dish on the menu so we can't fault them. Other Italian restaurants make it with a little heat. The shrimp scampi was good and all the portions were decent. No room for dessert. The service was very good and friendly. The prices were competitive for the area. No issues parking or retrieving our car by the valet. The restaurant was located a couple of miles outside of downtown Ogunquit and away from all the drama. read more

The manager owner is so incredibly rude. Accused of speaking poorly of our wait staff and with apologies he was unforgiving. The valet attendants informed us the manager calls the police on guests frequently. The reputation of rudeness is widespread around town as we were informed from other restaurant managers during the week. Good luck if you go! There's a pattern of his behavior and his response speaks for itself! Every poor review speaks about the abusive behavior of the owner. Take the time and scroll down and read those. Overall, I was somewhat disappointed in Angelina's, but I'm still giving it 4 stars. I was disappointed mainly because everyone said such amazing things about the food, that I think my expectations were too high? Or maybe I just ordered badly. We had a 6pm reservation for outside, but I called to say we were running late and pushed it to 6:30. We showed up @6:15-6:20 and were told we'd be seated wherever they put us. As we waited, a bunch of other 6:30 reservations were seated before us. When I checked in, it was clear they'd forgotten about us, but we were then seated almost immediately and at an inside table (our first time inside in over a year - something I wasn't entirely comfortable with). I could tell the hostess and host were SUPER busy, so I didn't want to be disruptive and went with it. I did appreciate the big barriers they had up between tables, which made me feel a bit more comfortable. The bread & oil was very tasty, but the rolls are teeny (which actually isn't a bad thing, because otherwise I would have eaten too much)! I got the Vodka sauce, which was fine, but didn't really taste like vodka sauce.... My husband got the chicken Parm - he liked it but it wasn't his favorite. It's definitely fried and then prob finished in the broiler. Overall, the food was fine, but wasn't as amazing as we'd heard. The service was, unfortunately, ridiculously slow. First time trying Angelina's after about 10 years of coming to OGT. Food was very good and it's really nice that they make their own pasta. There was a lot to choose from (maybe too many options actually). Service was a little chaotic. I felt like our table, in the patio, was in the way of the servers and they were rushing around us with food and drinks. It was clear they were trying to fit as many bodies in there as possible, but it was way too crowded for such a small space. The veal and chicken parmigiana are delicious (I love their red sauce), and the portions are large. Extensive menu and always a lot of specials. It's always busy in the summer - especially Fri-Sun. If you are looking for an authentic upscale Italian dinner with class and top tier service, this is the place for you. "Reservations" are a SCAM here...the owner/manager takes multiple reservations for the same time and day and then does "first-come, first-served" when you get there. He's way over his head when it comes to being at the front. To top it off, the food has gone downhill since our last visit so this place is off our list. If I could give zero stars I would Worst service I've ever had! Was with a party of 3 others Finally after 2 people coming over to great us our waitress showed up. This is my last visit, the reservation was twenty minutes late, it is only valet parking with automatic charge and a sharing charge even though we ordered many dishes. Last night was the first time we visited Angelina's with our friends. What a pleasant surprise! We were seated at a large table in a booth-like side table with a private ambiance. We had heard that the portions were large and witnessed many guests carrying leftover containers. We decided to split our order, and asked our server knowing their is a cost but it is minimal. We ordered our meal off the fresh menu which had a number of excellent options. We enjoyed the fresh greens salad and it had adequate amounts in both dishes. We then ordered the Seafood Melange, with generous amounts of Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops. The homemade pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce was thick and creamy with a touch of tomato. Very delicious and filling. Our friends split the Chicken Parmigiana which looked so good. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine and we each tried a different kind. We were very pleased. Dessert, a delicious cannoli came and we split it 4 ways (we were all just too full to eat a whole dessert).... Delish and just what you'd expect! At least four people attended to out table bringing water, bread, clearing the dishes and our server was attentive even with her multiple tables on a very busy evening. There were at least 3 signs in the parking lot that advised about the minimal fee for valet parking and judging by the crowd inside, we were happy to have the service. With two attendants, they were very busy. We also tipped them because parking can be a headache in Ogunquit at times and by comparison with other this was reasonable. Hidden Gem in Maine. Our first time our server was Sandra. She was cheerful, made great recommendations and as all the pasta dishes are from scratch we could make a substitution. I had the Veal Francese with homemade fettuccine. The veal was pounded thin, so tender I could cut it with my fork. The lemon wine sauce clung beautifully to the pasta and I could taste the brightness of the lemon. My husband had the Pasta Primavera. He was delighted that it was not drowning in oil. Instead the vegetables sautéed with garlic came in a light sauce made with vegetable broth. We took gelato to go to finish our night. First of all, when we walked in, we were essentially yelled at by the manager for waiting "in the way" (we had a reservation that we were on time for, and were waiting in the seating area provided so I'm not quite sure how we were in the way or better yet, why we were being yelled at). Ordered a bottle of wine, chicken parm, and my husband got some sort of seafood pasta special. Food was okay, not horrible but not amazing. Ordered a ginger ale to have with my meal, it was brought over 25 minutes later as I was finishing. Then, the best part. The waiters dropped an entire stack of cups and splashed my husbands entire back. He was soaked. Not a sorry, not even an acknowledgment. We will not be back. Easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had in quite some time. I went there on a Friday night and the place was extremely crowded and noisy. The decor is rather drab and rundown. In desperate need of a remodel. I had a 7:00 pm reservation and as I waited for my table to be ready I heard the manager say to a group of people at the podium, party of four, no reservation.....right this way. So how does a party with no reservation get seated before a party who DOES have a reservation which at this point was twenty minutes past? When I was seated the noise level was so loud , I began getting a headache. I couldn't hear the waiter and he clearly couldn't hear me because instead of giving me the seafood soup I had ordered I got a bowl of clam chowder (which I'm sure was straight out of a can! Two spoonfuls and I was done. My entree was their signature seafood pasta in a cream "sauce". The sauce had the consistency of a soup broth rather than a sauce and the dish overall lacked flavor. Again, two bites and I asked for the check. By this point, my headache was in full swing and I just wanted to leave. I paid the bill (nothing was taken off it despite the fact that I essentially didn't eat anything. The bill came to 78 dollars and change. I left 80 bucks and left. You are forced to leave your car with valet and there fore have to pay for it. Absolutely NOT recommended in any way shape or form! Decided to try this place have not been here before and have driven by many times. Restaurant was moderately busy considering it was a weeknight and there wasn't many tourists in this area. Last night it was packed (understatement) due to Christmas by the Sea. We have Had fabulous experiences here in the summer when vacationing but last night everyone from the valet to our water and the bus boys stood out! We had a reservation for four adults, 3 children and an infant and amongst all the chaos our cars were taken, we were sat immediately and our waiter was right on top of his game. Did not miss one detail and was very warm and gracious with our busy party. The food was perfection like every other visit. We all had very different dishes and raved about them all. Last night, my wife and I took my grandson and his girlfriend to dinner at Angelina's. We were met warmly at the door by the staff and by David, the owner. Being met at the door with smiles, as if we were old friends, immediately set the mood for a memorable and happy evening. We were shown to our table and immediately received the attention of the staff. We had drinks, an appetizer, a bottle of wine, entrées and coffee and dessert. The service was prompt, and the staff very attentive. Especially good was the Chicken Marcella and the Pasta Primavera. During the evening, I noticed that David, the owner, walked through the dining area regularly. He is a hands on guy who makes sure that everything is running smoothly and that everyone had everything that they needed. He is very supportive of his staff. Speaking of the staff, they were professional and friendly. They made us feel at home. The portions are large, and we each took food home with us. David is very accommodating and does his very best to ensure that everything at the restaurant is perfect. If you enjoy Italian food in a warm atmosphere and in a friendly environment, you cannot do better than Angelina's. My experiences there have always been outstanding. It's always best to make reservations, because they are busy. In this area, they are one of the best restaurants that you can find. Just like most people, we normally stick to our one Italian restaurant. They were closed, and I am very thankful for that. From the time we sat down the service was amazing! We were greeted immediately, and drinks came with in minutes. All the food came very quickly, and we never felt rushed. I had the cutlets two ways, which was veal and chicken in Marsala with homemade pasta, my wife had a scallops dish. Both were delicious. Our server was right there as I took my last sip from my drink and a follow up came quickly. So the bartenders are moving at lighting speed, but in doing so, they don't make drinks consistently the same so when you order two of the same drink, you could find that it's not the same in taste or quality. The food was good but I can't recommend this place when I ordered the blueberry rhubarb dessert. Unfortunately, it was way too sweet and didn't have any tartness from the rhubarb. It was sickly sweet and served with ice cream. I ate two bites. The ice cream had a thick coating of freezer ice on top of it, so I got a mouthful of that disgusting tasting ice. I told the server that I didn't like it and he went to take it off the bill and told the manager. The manager came over and asked what was wrong. I made the mistake of telling him the truth. I thought that he'd want to know that there is something wrong with the ice cream so no one else gets served that disgusting mess. Nope. He defended it saying that they serve it all the time and no one ever didn't like it. I found it amusing that he thought it was a good idea to yell in the dining room about a customer that was unhappy with the food. If he cared at all about his customers he would find that the ice cream was left open in the freezer and something dripped into the top of it. It was gross. I couldn't ever return to a place where the manager is incapable of dealing with problems from customers. Added note: the manager doesn't do too much but insult his customers as he responded within minutes. Let me add some more details. I ate two bites. That was it. It was sickeningly sweet. And I do want to point out that rather than handle this as anyone who has worked in this industry would know, you apologize and move on. I didn't ask for this to be removed from the bill. He wanted to know and so I took the time to tell him the truth. Nice try trying to bully me as you have on your other responses but it doesn't work with me. We had the salmon risotto and my husband had the lobster fra diablo which were exceptional. We have always had great service from all of the wait staff. They are so attentive and work very hard. There is no photo for this meal, but frankly, it did not deserve one. The food wasn't awful, but it certainly was not memorable either. What WAS memorable was the dreadful service. We had a reservation for 7:00 P.M., but were not seated until about 7:30. Why make a reservation at all if it's meaningless? But waiting interminably long to be seated was the least of the indignities. After we placed our dinner order, it took seemingly forever for the food to come out. The waiter never updated us on what was going on. When we finally caught his attention to inquire about the status of our order, it's like he took personal offense at the temerity of asking. He tried to explain how different stations were preparing the meal which accounted for the delay. Not once in that explanation did he utter very simple words: "I'm sorry."
