I saw the huge vertical rotisserie from the road. Al Pastor time!

Angel's Tijuana Tacos are expanding everywhere! 13 locations throughout Los Angeles to San Bernardino to Riverside county. Most locations are closed on Mondays. Their usual hours are: Tue-Sun: 4:30pm - Midnight. Love the handmade corn tortillas made to order. Even better are the charcoal grilled meats. The Carne Asada is good. The Al Pastor on the vertical rotisserie is delicious! It's a "messy plate" as they generously pile on the meats and salsas- get extra napkins! This location here is on Foothill Blvd in the Tujunga - La Cresenta area; in front of PetSmart. No crazy lines here like the EagleRock/Glassell Park stand, but it does get freezing cold up here in the highlands... bring a jacket/sweater and CASH!

Large piece of sharp plastic in my food.

I ordered al pastor tacos and a carne asada burrito and there was literally a sharp large piece of plastic in my tacos, and I ended up chewing on it and hurting my mouth. If I swallowed it without knowing, I would be in the hospital for this hazardous piece of plastic potentially ripping through my stomach. This is absolutely unacceptable. I need a full refund for this meal. I have messaged the instagram of this establishment and awaiting resolution.

Love this place. I usually go to the one in Glassell Park, but am happy they have a location on Foothill. Portions are still generous. I finally got to try their potato and it was humongous! It's definitely enough for 2-3 people, depending on how hungry you are or if you bought other things. Give this place a try.. they're food is good and workers a friendly!

The whole spot with fresh tortillas getting grilled up.

Current favorite chain of pop up taco spots. I think in particular it's what they do with the queso tacos or the keto taco that make this place tops for my LA street tacos cravings, or any tacos for that matter. They queso tacos grill the cheese and the keto taco is made with a grilled cheese shell, so while low carb and counting for keto, does pack the calories, but is so good in its own right even on non-diets. This place gets all the street taco stuff right: Fresh pressed tortillas. Multiple salsas. A bunch of fixings including grilled jalapeño, cucumbers, cilantro, etc. on the side table. Spit grilled Al-pastor with pineapple on top they'll cut bits off of for your tacos. Just delicious out and out. There is a reason this it has caught on with so many locations in greater LA. I've been to four different locations and all of them hold up. I will say, there are a handful of places among the thousands of taco spots in LA that may lay claim to being superior to Angel's when it comes to specific types of taco meats, and they don't offer the wider variety at some spots that offer Cabeza, goat, etc., but when it comes to their all around score and the way they nail their pastor queso tacos, it gets top marks. Most of their various meats (and menu items) would easily finish top 10 out of 100+ taco places I've eaten at in LA, so while there's a place off the 10 that I'd say edges them out for carne asada, when you consider everything Angel's has to offer, quality of tortillas and the queso avocado tacos in particular, they've got the top spot.

If you're in the La Canada, La Crescenta to Tujunga area you have to try the Best Street Tacos !!! This place is amazing. They are really clean and organized. The food is always fresh ! 10 Taco 1 Carne asada Burito Mexican Coke $38 Bucks

Mulita is huge but not very good. The tortillas aren't even very good. Definitely not Tujuana tacos that I've had many times.
    Shannon S.

Way, WAY TOO SALTY. Every meat was way too salty and they don't take the fat off of it and some of it was really dry. They don't have rojo sauce either, which is strange. I used to eat tacos in Tujuana all the time as a kid. This isn't it. The portions are huge!! They are very nice. The food was disappointing.

saw angel's tj tacos driving by, up the street from my cousin's house nearby! finally got to try it after coming by with my parents 1 star off for shorting me a taco, not sure which one it was lol and also not having seats, even though it was along the street! the ambiance is a drive by street vendor! service was decent, thankfully my mom knew how to speak spanish!

Short and quick review here: Angels Tijuana opened a newer location here in la crescenta. I am biased because I love angels. But their Al pastor tacos are always top notch and this location is no exception. Always go for anything Al pastor related here! It always hits!

The menu is quite simple, but beware that no prices are listed on the main menu, but they are on the paper menus. They accept Apple Pay/credit cards. I ordered the asada burrito and the pollo caramelo and added the grilled poblano (as recommended on Yelp!). The tortillas were the true stars -- soft, nice chew, with a buttery mouth feel (probably lard). The fillings were just ok. The inside reminded me of a Taco Bell 7 layer burrito -- a lot going on but all the flavors kinda blend together. I (incorrectly) thought the beans were refried, but they are not. Whatever is going on inside, I didn't find much structure. The burrito was the best. The caramelo was a lazily folded burrito. I read that it was like a quesadilla, but I couldn't disagree more. I would skip this next time. I spent $25 and it was a lot of food, but I wasn't impressed, especially given the hype and the fact that LA should really be the pinnacle of Mexican food. Not sure if I'll make a second trip here.

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

It was my first visit so I had to get a mix of their tacos and burritos with the various meats they serve. It was a nice fact to know their tortillas have some lard also so it adds a nice flavor as well. + Burrito 2.0 (asada) + Chivichanga (chicken and beef) + Tacos (chorizo, tripe, cabeza, asada) I enjoyed the burrito with asada and thought it was good portion size for the cost. The guac, cheese, and beans pair well with the meat and has a nice grill on the tortilla. The tacos were a solid size as well but I was surprised to find the tripe as my favorite because they fry it and it adds a nice crunch/texture change. The cabeza was a close second with the stewed flavors. The chivichangas were also tasty but not the traditional chimichanga I was anticipating. It's definitely on the softer side as everything mixes together and there's not much of a texture change. Worth trying if you are curious though. I ordered to go so I didn't see if they have a salsa bar but I did have to pay $.10 per to go container which would be nice if they were free. However, I liked mixing their red and green salsa with each bite. I am curious to try their avocado salsa next time. Overall, I thought the portion sizes were good for the prices and I felt full afterwards.
