This guy sent someone who spoke no English and could not explain what the issue was. The owner them got on the phone and told me my dryer (less than 3 years old) needed a new dryer valve. He said it would cost $360 to fix but that he'd sell me a used dryer (same one) for $350. He only takes cash. I paid him his $50 service call fee and asked for a picture of the part. The picture included a price of $520. None of it made sense and I had a bad feeling. I had a different company come out. When they opened the dryer a wire had been cut. Clean cut. No one has touched the dryer since it was installed until these people came out. All this guy wanted to do was sell me a used dryer when my almost new dryer can be repaired for $75. BUYER BEWARE Do not buy any used appliances from Angie's in town. I bought a washer dryer 3 months ago. Once delivered it was discovered there was an issue with the dryer. They sent people out 6 separate times and finally told me the entire unit needed to be replaced. Once they brought new ones they broke my brand new screen door and did not repair it properly. There were then multiple issues with the new unit. 3 months later I started having more issues and they sent someone out and told me it would be several hundred dollars and there was a major transmission issue that would be more. I told them no this was still under warranty. They fixed one issue but left the other alone. Once they left I realized they broke the door on the washer which was working properly before. They told me they'd come out yesterday to fix it and no one came, no one called, and I wasted an entire afternoon. My mom is in mental decline and made the terrible decision to buy a washing machine with a giant yellow stain on it from them. As expected it's a POS and stopped working after 4-5 tiny tester loads. Now they replaced it with another pile of junk and after the first load it's already leaking water out of the top somehow. Pretty shameful to take advantage of an elderly lady with products that don't actually function. Service was terrible too. Avoid this place like the bubonic plague. read more

Ok, I'll wait, it's now after 7 & I can't get a hold of anyone, office number rings and then asks you for a code? I've over up, I had my food out of the old fridge at this point and it's time to pack it back up. I get a call and voicemail at 7:51 that I missed. I see it 8 minutes later and he says he's out front. So I've just purchased in the last month my fourth refurbished appliance from Angie's appliances. The refrigerator. I purchased my first refurbished refrigerator from them about 5 1/2 years ago for $425. It was a beautiful stainless steel Frigidaire double door, with freezer drawer refrigerator. It made my kitchen complete. After 5 1/2 years it had a problem that was going to cost me $300. At that point I decided to buy another refrigerator from Angie's. By the way I've also purchased a beautiful stainless steel washer dryer front loading set at $450.04 years ago that run great. So I purchased a refurbished Kenmore elite. It is even more beautiful than my last refrigerator and it makes my kitchen look amazing. They honor their warranty, they come out and service it and make sure that it's up and running when they leave... Including making sure the ice maker and water dispenser work. Worst customer service!!!! My husband wanted to try them out becuase it's a small business and their prices were good so he ended up buying a stove. Boy was it ever difficult dealing with them to get it delivered!!!!!! They said they would have the stove to us by Monday so we made sure someone would be home for them to drop off the stove. We had my brother in law stay and unfortunately he skipped work/pay to be there and the company NO SHOWED!!! They never came!!!!! And they didn't even let us know!... So my husband called them to hear what happened and ended up rearranging for a new day a couple days after. That day came and guess what..... NO SHOW AGAIN! We couldn't believe it. This time they did call us they couldn't make it anymore but calling during the drop off time does not count! Horrible service! ... We rescheduled for a 3rd time m a little frustrated at this point but hoping for our stove.. The company told us they would drop off at 12pm and guess what we waited and waited till we couldn't wait no more because of prior commitments and they call us at 6pm saying they've arrived... 6 hours late!!!?!?? ..... Horrible just horrible. My husband called to complain to the manager and they did nothing! The mover even called my husband back asking why he complained and said that he came but we weren't there. DO NOT SHOP AT ANGIE'S APPLIANCES IN LB: I have been fighting with the owner George regarding a 2017 Whirlpool fridge my husband and I bought in October 2021. The fridge worked great at first but soon began freezing up in the freezer. The refrigerator portion has been freezing and ruining our food. The owner send a kid out with no experience. He tried to tell us it was the thermostat and quoted us $140 ($60 was to pay his gas!!) plus a $30 service call fee. When we said we didn't have that he ask how much we had. I sent him packing and called the owner. He proceeded to tell me $80 to replace the thermostat. We paid to have it replace and the fridge is still freezing up! There has been no offer to return our money for the part it didn't need or to pay the cost of all the lost food. The service tech is a no show today to trouble shoot. The owner is full of shit! He has no intention of fixing or replacing this shitty merchandise. Looks like we will have to file a small claims case so we can get our money back. read more

I have purchased 2 refrigerators and one washer here. All three have broken. I suspected Angie's of purposely tampering with the appliances so that they would break, considering the horrible track record I've experience so far with their used appliances. Well, tonight I had a reputable repair man out (not from Angie's) and he identified where they had cut the grounding wires on my washing machine. By cutting the grounding wires, the motor eventually shorted out and now my washer needs a new motor and new computer board! I KNEW IT! Angie's does this on purpose so that the appliances they sell have a shorter lifespan, and people keep coming back to get another used, cheap appliance that will only last about a year if they're lucky. My parents previously used this place to repair our fridge, and they did it well because everything has been fixed. If only they had looked up the reviews on yelp BEFORE they had them come fix our washing machine... We then had a problem with our Duet Sport front loading washing machine sometimes leaking out water. They came and "fixed" it. Not sure how much it was but it was more than $100 to "fix" that. And guess what? Its STILL not fixed. We put in a load the next day and it was still leaking out water. I called right away and they sent someone out to my house, when they came we tried to put a load in for them but the machine didn't leak. My dad showed them pictures because they kept trying to take apart the portion right underneath the leak to reveal the inside of the washer despite us telling them that it was the DOOR that was the problem. Because the machine didn't leak, they said it was probably because we OVERLOADED our machine. So I said ok, that might be true, sometimes we do overload our machine. Today I put in a twin sized comforter along with two pillow cases, the load wasn't even half full and water is still leaking out. I wouldn't recommend this place if you need your washer/dryer fixed. read more

I went to buy a gas range. I got there before they closed. I selected the one I wanted but needed to check on the measurements in my kitchen to see if I can fit a 30" range where my current 24" is. The girl who works there assured me that they will hold it for me, but not for more than 24 hours. Which was plenty of time. I measured the space that evening and took time off work the next morning to go back and find out that they had sold it! (even when it had a hold sign on it). They came thru for me! I manage property and was excited seeing the options at Angie's Appliances. Their appliances seem cleaner than other used appliance stores. They also have many modern options. My first one was a washing machine and the next was a stove. Both look great and work great. I was so pleased! The last was a refrigerator. This refrigerator looked great but it was a lemon. It didn't freeze properly and started internal leaking. Okay, I thought. Now I am going to test Angie's 3 months warranty. So I told them and a technician came out. He thought he knew the problem but it turned out he didn't. I wondered what they were going to do. During this time it was stressful because of the lack of communication on their part. They would say they would be there at x time but then be an hour late without calling. That was stressful for all involved and something they can work on. IT was a few days already. I am VERY HAPPY to say they CAME THRU and brought a nice looking replacement. So far that replacement is working fine. I am very grateful they came thru and I hope to go use Angies again soon. I happened upon Angie's and found a family run mom-n-pop business--I was treated like a friend and bought a range for a reasonable price which included free delivery--My range was delivered on time the same day--I realized one of the knobs had a crack in it a couple of days later--I thought maybe since they had my bucks it might be a lost cause to get it replaced--It took the owner some time to find one that fit--He did come thru though I found them to be honest and fair with me I would recommend Angie's to anyone looking for a reasonably priced clean used appliance read more

Annies/Peggys Applicances is a fraud (we believe they are in the process of changing their name to escape all their terrible reviews. This is a horrible business, I agree with everyone that the repair men are fake. It's clear they know how to replace maybe one or two basic things but don't know how to assess any problems. They try and lag everything and are terrible with their communication and customer service. I wanted to give a small business my patronage, but this was terrible. Thursday, October 5th the refrigerator was bought. Friday, October 20th it stopped cooling and all our groceries were ruined, costing us over 200 dollars. Saturday, October 21st I spoke to a young woman and she told me it couldn't be repaired until Monday, I scheduled for someone to come by Monday October the 23rd at 11am. Monday, October 23rd No one showed up at 11am, no one came until after 1:30pm. I explained to the repair man that the fridge and the freezer had both stopped working, he looked at the refrigerator for 5min and told me he'd be back the next day Tuesday October 24th at 12pm to replace the part. Tuesday, October 24th I called at 10:30am to confirm someone would be coming, my boyfriend had stayed home from work to be there for the repair man. I was told that now, no one would be coming because the part wasn't available. It would have been appropriate for someone to have double checked the part was available in the first place before telling us a time and setting aside a day of our work to be available to you. We were told someone would be coming the next day Wednesday, October 25th at 12pm to fix it. Wednesday, October 25th, no one arrives at 12pm. I call at 12:45pm to see where they are, and I was told that someone had arrived, but no one let them in so they left. 1. No one had called my phone from Annie's Appliances to let me know he was there at 12, I have been receiving calls just fine this entire time so it makes no sense why I didn't get his calls. 2. In our building if you go to the door someone will let you in if you are a repair service. Which means whomever was supposed to arrive didn't walk up to the door or never actually arrived. 3. I am then told that someone will be coming at 4:30, I wait outside for them to make sure they get in. I wait outside, and they arrive late at 5pm. 4. When he arrives, he is waiting in his truck for me to come out and get him which validates he hadn't even come to the door the first time to be let in. 5. He tells me that the first repair man had made a mistake and thought only the refrigerator was broken, not the freezer as well. If the first repair man had taken the time to thoroughly check the machine, he would have been able to make the correct assessment in the first place. Now, the current repair man tells me that he can't find out what's wrong with it until it breaks again and to keep using it until it breaks. 6. This is an outrageous request because we cannot afford losing anymore groceries because the current repair man doesn't want to take the time to properly assess the fridge. 7. I am later told that he had to go to class and that was why he was in a hurry. Leaving a customer confused, inconvenienced for over a week and poorly communicated with is unfair and unprofessional. 8. When I went in to talk to them I began to explain the situation and halfway through the woman picked up her phone and started talking on it and walking away. SO RUDE 9. I asked for a refund and they showed up an hour late, once again waiting in their car and never called me. Finally they removed their faulty product which was clearly not in any condition to be sold. When I asked for a refund the woman on the phone, who I originally thought was a nice woman, replied "Ok, whatever" and hung up. She called back a few minutes later to say they'd pick it up at 4, they showed up at 5. read more

First was a cheap fridge when we moved into our new place. Worked great & lasted for years. Our dryer died, got a great used one here & got it delivered the same day. Still works great, 2 years later. Finally renovated our small kitchen, & they had a stainless steel French door fridge with an ice maker & water in the door that fit our funky size we needed, so we got that to replace the still working but beat up fridge from years ago. Old washing machine started leaking, got a new used one delivered today from them too. Great service & prices & we couldn't be happier. If you want new stuff, great!! Go out & buy new stuff. Their 3month warranty is worth nothing because they deny there is a problem & when you get confirmation from a decent repair person it's past the 90 days. They sold me a "reconditioned" vintage o'Keefe & Merrat stove whose oven turned out to be useless because the button that needed to be pushed to relight the pilot was completely non-operational. We called within the warranty time but they denied there was a problem with the stove. Replacement cost? $250 for the part alone! --silly me-- I tried again a couple of years later for a different rental unit's stove They sold me a "new" Electrolux that looked great but the tenants complained about a smell & bursts of fire when the oven got used. "It's nothing to worry about - it will stop soon - it's because it's new" Well...2 months later the warranty was gone but we still had a problem. Finally, when the Electrolux repairman came out he said Angies had attached a non-venting top onto a base that needed a top vent. It was not repairable. The Frankenstein-ed stove is several hundred dollars worth of trash. Other used appliance places all over town just shook their heads, wondering HOW it is they stay in business. From recent experience, I would strongly advise to stay away from this place when looking for used appliances. Service is terrible, and YOU WILL NEED THEM TO COME AND MAKE SEVERAL REPAIRS. Our washer and dryer has been serviced by them over 10 times now, under the 90 day warranty. We have also swapped a pair, because the prior pair could not be fixed. Came here to have my fridge repaired a month ago. Fridge worked for a couple of days then broke down a couple days after it had been repaired. Their technician had taken out gas stating that it had been the cause of the fridge malfunctioning I was given a 60 day warranty should there be any problems that arise. Fast forward today, the fridge started malfunctioning once again with the same problem displaying the same symptoms as before, visited them in person, the owner rejected the idea that my fridge was malfunctioning because of the same reason as before and would not honor the "warranty" got into an argument with the owner asked for a refund, in turn he begrudgingly decided to send another "technician", as I was stepping out I noticed that they had badly damaged appliances and were in the process of making them "new" by spray-painting them and putting them up for sale. I had been looking at buying a new dryer but they were running $600 for a no-frills version and I got one with all the needed drying cycles at less than a third of the cost of new!
