OMG.... This place is outstanding!!!! We've been in TX 2 years now, and why I haven't been here sooner... I cannot answer to. VERY clean, VERY attentive service and EXCELLENT food. We ordered fajitas, and a lunch special (awesome to have this offered on weekends) which was a chicken taco and cheese enchilada. Charro beans are fabulous; and the flour tortillas sent me into the fetal position - SO GOOD!!! And can I say again - the service is phenomenal! read more

This is probably the best Mexican restaurant in Conroe. The chef actually visits with patrons and cooks with love. The food is delicious. Everything I've ever had has been flawless. We were on the look out for something different, a Mexican food place we'd never tried nor heard of. We landed in Conroe at a small Mexican joint named Angie's. Right of the bat their chips, green sauce, and salsa are fresh and homemade. Be sure to check our their affordable prices on the lunch menu. Good prices and good amount of food.  Can't wait to try the dinner menu.  Tried the mixed fajita plate. Good flavor, but the true prize was the tortillas. So homemade they weren't even in perfect circles. Soooo good!  Carne Guisada. Tender beef tips mixed with potatoes, zucchini, squash, onion, mushrooms and covered in a delicious brown gravy with rice and beans. The meat was tender and the vegetables were a nice touch to a traditional carne guisada dish. Also got a side order of a cheese puff. Worth it! The puff was fluffy and crunchy at the same time. Queso had a good flavor too. I had to pinch myself to make sure my grandma wasn't in the kitchen rolling the tortillas - they were so dang good!  Kids cheeseburger and fries. We had the worst service at a previous restaurant and decided to try out this Mexican restaurant. Though coming from Houston, we wanted to give this small local mexican restaurant a try. The server was so welcoming and sweet that my boyfriend and i felt like we were at home. The menu is sooo extensive that my friend and I were so impressed! One of the best Mexican restaurant we've tried! I've never had a Mexican restaurant specialize in so much different entrees especially having homemade tortillas (both corn and flour). Service (5/5) - Server was soo sweet! She was very polite and joyous despite it being close to closing. She opened the door for the guests when they were leaving! Also, she gave us a spicy green sauce for us to try and it was soo good! I would come back just to be served by her. Later, the chef greeted all the tables about the food. Free chips & salsa w/ green sauce (5/5) - Best red salsa I've ever had! It was very flavorful than what I was used to. The green sauce was sooo creamy and tasty too. I had to save some for my main meal. Side cheese enchilada: (5/5) Average cheese enchilada! Still delicious but nothing too different. I would order again. Gorditas (5/5) I forgot the name of the style of Gorditas I got but it was really good and filling! I used all the salsas and green sauce to stuff my Gordita! Gorditas are usually a specialty dish that you don't find in most Mexican restaurants! I only ate one (3 total) because I was so full stuffing my face with chips and salsa. Fajitas Durango (5/5) * came with both homemade corn and flour tortillas! My friend got this and said the tortillas were really good with the entree. The beef was really juicy! They cooked it with a variety of veggies (tomatoes, jalapeños, onions, cilantro) so the sauce was really flavorful. *conclusion - I don't think you can go wrong with this place especially with late restaurant hours! - would definitely come back for the service and homemade tortillas ! read more

A very tiny hole in the wall restaraunt but glad we went. The only drawback was the margaritas are wine based. But let me tell you about their guacamole. It was AMAZING and Huge! Then they serve it with fresh cut jalepenoes, cilantro, tomato, and sweet onions, so you can add heat or sweetness. Perfect!. Then we had the beef fajita nachos and the meat and balance was great. We also tried the shrimp cocktail which was good but the tomato base was sweeter than I like- I like a little spicier. But that's just me. Staff and restaraunt was cute and super clean. Called this morning to get a catering order of mixed fajitas for an office of 15, and Esmeralda was wonderful to work with. The food was delicious, it was delivered on time and fresh, and it was very reasonably priced. I'm not from the area, so the Yelp reviews were extremely helpful. We use to eat here... haven't in a while but I won't be back!!! The food has gone down hill. Beans we're runny.. fire man tacos use to be full. We ordered Delivery from GrubHub. We had an awesome delivery driver named Memorie. She got our food to was still hot so it was really really good. We asked for Angie's to keep the jalapeño peppers off of the nachos and they forgot to do that but that's OK. We were able to scrape them off. Also on the Baja tacos I think the shrimp were grilled instead of fried. They tasted so good though that it's OK. This was our first time trying Angie's but it won't be our last. Pretty dang good Mexican cooking. Angie's is a cozy place with your typical Mexican motif. We went for a late lunch/early dinner and were warmly greeted when we entered. A young woman told us welcome and please seat wherever you would like. She, of course, immediately brought us chips & tasty red & green salsas; good flavor, not to hot. We followed that up with an appetizer of white queso. We definitely liked the way it was served with fried flour tortilla chips and jalapeño slices. It was scrumptious, although it was sorta room temperature & should have been heated a little more. I ordered the Gordita plate. Liked it as well, the gorditas were a generous size (I brought home 2 of the 3 that were served) and presented with avocado slices, tomato's, lettuce & cheese. Very flavorful Borracho beans and well made rice complemented the meal. My husband ordered the chicken & beef mixed fajitas; which he said were seasoned well, good portion and tender. The corn tortillas served with his fajitas looked made there; not store bought/factory made. Our server, also the greeter, was very friendly and attentive (without being too attentive). Wow... where to start. First visit was amazing. Fajitas and California burrito were on point. Tonight, Friday the 17th of May they had the worst cook and waitress working I may ever have had. Disrespectful and man was the Carne Guisada horrible. All beef in that and burritos were just fat. Then they tried to say that's just how the steak is. Nice try cook, no it's not. We've been going to Angie's for 4 years now and twice in past month. Always good, service is spot on and I've never had anything there I wouldn't order again. So glad family circumstances have allowed them to remain open in the evenings again. Great people, great food. Carne asada seasoned perfectly and never over grilled. Fajitas stellar and homemade tortillas win every time. We've introduced many people to Angie's and they are still friends plus now grateful. Give them a try! read more
