I carried out a couple of weeks ago and wrote this while it was fresh on my mind and have been waiting for this location to be on Yelp. Honestly, I'm a little conflicted. I really wanted to love my lobster roll and give this place 5 stars, but I'm just not quite there. First off, the service was great. Matt was super friendly and helpful, answered my questions about the menu, and put together my lobster roll and quesadillas. Definitely 5-star service from him. The setup is pretty basic. There is some seating, but it's a pretty sparse dining room and not somewhere I'd really want to hang out and eat. You order at kiosks on the wall unless you order ahead, so it feels more like a grab-and-go kind of place. Food-wise, it was a bit mixed. I got the lobster roll and added extra lobster--it was pricey, but you do get a generous portion. I'd say the taste was about a 4 out of 5. I'd still get it again. The quesadillas (both chicken and cheese) were good too--nothing amazing, but definitely solid. Overall, kind of a mixed experience. Last week, when Salad and Go announced they were closing, my wife and I, like a lot of other people, wanted to know what alternative we had. It became clear very quickly that Angie's, owned by the former owners of Salad and Go, might be a good alternative. Lots of people on social media swore by the place, so we figured we would check it out on Friday night since we could no longer go to Salad and Go for our regular Friday night dinner. Friday evening, we went to the Power and Ray location. Angie's has the menu on the wall, with ordering done on computer screens. I am on a keto diet, so the options were a little disconcerting. The only two salad toppings I could have were the pepperoncinis and cheese, so that's what I got, along with balsamic vinegar dressing. I did like the grilled broccoli and drink add-on. We sat down, and the first thing I noticed in this very industrial-looking storefront was that the tables were kind of pushed every which way. As I walked back and forth to grab our food or pour my drink, I was slipping all over the place. The polished cement floor seemed to have grease on it everywhere. My wife had a teriyaki Asian salad. The teriyaki dressing was very spicy, way too spicy for her, so she decided she would try the protein bowl next time. We decided to give Angie's another try. When ordering the hamburger, there was nowhere for us to say no tomato. Since I'm allergic to tomato, that's a pretty big deal. There was a place to ask for a lettuce wrap, which I did. My wife got a protein bowl, which comes with three sides. When I got to the restaurant to pick up the food, it was ready. I carefully and gingerly walked through the establishment so I would not slip again. As I was standing there, I watched a woman walk up to get a drink and go flying. She caught herself at the last moment on the side of the counter because she was also slipping around the store. When my food came out, I immediately looked through it, and there were tomatoes on my burger. I told the employee that I was allergic and that I really needed them to fix it, so he agreed to remake it. I waited about 10 minutes for them to remake my burger while other orders came and went. At one point, another employee came over, and I told her I was waiting for a replacement burger because I have a tomato allergy. She said they were remaking it and that it would be ready in a few minutes. Once I got my burger, I took our order and went home. When I got home, my wife opened up her protein box, which was supposed to have three items in it: spinach, avocado and broccoli and chicken. There was no broccoli, so she was a little frustrated. She went to eat her French fries since she had gotten fries and a drink along with it, but the fries were cold inside and seemed like they had been cooked quite a while earlier. They tasted old enough that she ended up throwing them away. While the drinks were good, the burger was red, not even pink. As somebody who likes well-done meat, that was definitely an issue. I scraped off the pickles and lettuce and recooked my burger before I ate it. I really wanted to like Angie's, but I just was so not impressed. The food was not good. Sure, the prices are good, but I don't even understand what sort of audience they're catering to because they have all different sorts of things on the menu. It was very confusing. We were hoping to find a few things we could really like and get week to week when we come here on a Friday night, but after being very unimpressed two times in a row, we won't be back. I kept the review sounding like you wrote it rather than making it overly polished or "professional review" sounding. read more

I really want to like this place, but unfortunately, my experience left me disappointed... and this wasn't the first time. For starters, the dining area feels unfinished and doesn't create a very inviting atmosphere... it feels chaotic, and I'm pretty sure the flies outnumbered the customers. As for the food, the breading on the shrimp was extremely hard and overly salty. I also tried the $17 lobster roll option... that was a huge letdown. The meat tasted far too fishy to resemble fresh lobster, and it was dry, as if it had been sitting for quite some time. Even the fries, which are usually hard to get wrong, were soggy and limp. After Salad & Go closed, Angie's was begging for our business. Even though it's not convenient... It's almost 20 minutes from our home, we decided to try it. The first time we tried to-go, the three of us in the family were fairly impressed. The food tasted good, but even though we had spent $.69 extra for a dressing it was not included in the bag. It was disappointing because the falafel needed extra dressing. But ok, mistakes happen. The three of us decided to try it again tonight. When we picked up the order, we made sure to make sure the extra dressing was in there. It was not again! When my husband asked one of the workers for the dressing, the worker gave him the dressing with a lecture and basically said "just so you know I'm giving this to you even though you didn't order it" but you can look at the receipt we did pay for it! No lecture necessary... When we got home with the order, it was incredibly disappointing because the warm rice bowl that we ordered customized with falafel came with no falafel! That's basically a salad with rice and that was not satisfying! As stated earlier, this location is not convenient for corrections. It's so disappointing that they can't get the orders right. I don't know if we should try a new location or what... But it doesn't help to get lectured about getting your order right when they're the ones who weren't getting it. Came here for breakfast one time and got a breakfast burrito for under 6 dollars food was fresh and I haven't seen the price for a breakfast burrito anywhere else. Also came here a different time and got the lobster roll it was great. Went through the drive through both times and service was great. read more

OK, I think people are getting a bit critical of this place.... is it fancy? No. Is it exactly like salad and go? No. However, they do offer some healthy options which I appreciate especially after salad don't go closed. It's not that deep people.... it's a place that actually has decently healthy meals at a decent price, which is hard to find on the go. I thoroughly enjoyed my salad and they have some great meal specials. Honestly, I think it's a pretty good option.... and for those complaining about a lobster roll we're not in Maine, we're in Arizona. I wouldn't have high hopes. read more

This place themselves is advertising as the new Salad and go and let me tell you it's not at all. First off they say it's cheaper, this pineapple refresher is $3 and it's just packets they give you to mix in with sparkling water and they don't tell you that so I was very confused until a worker told me how to make it. It taste horrible like pineapple infused water dosent taste like any caffeine and there is no straws to mix it with. My hands were all sticky after, bathroom was out of service, extremely busy and over whelming, self ordering kiosk, so can't ask any questions about their Menu and salad was a small salad. to top it all off the container they give you for your salad is made of cardboard. The plastic top does not fit on and my salad open all in the bag seriously nothing like salad and go and not good food. super disappointed read more

Angie's is a great addition to Gilbert Gateway. I am familiar with their drive thru concepts, but this location offers sit down and take out only. Everything is self-serve- there is no cashier, you must mobile order or use one or the in-store kiosks (cash, card or Apple/Samsung pay only). Service is quick and choices are vast- think warm protein bowls, hearty salads, lobster rolls and chicken- there's something for everyone. Most offerings are under $10 making this a great option for kids and groups. read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Angie's this past week. It is very affordable and clean. I like the ordering system where you come in and place the order through the touchscreen and receive it when it is done. I like the mission that Angie's tries to follow which is to make luxurious foods affordable. Loved the lobster roll ordered mine hot and husband ordered his cold. Both were delicious and priced accordingly. I will be coming back to Angie's for sure! read more

I ordered a salad and specifically took off the blue cheese because I cannot eat it and when I got my salad, there was blue cheese on it. I was super excited to try this place after seeing it used "Maine Lobster" as we have been to Maine and LOVED their lobster rolls and the sweetness of the lobster & the roll itself and seeing a combo price of $15 wasnt too bad as the pictures looked amazing! We went to this location as it offered seating whereas a closer location did not. Walked in to see a wide open restaurant and computer screens on the wall and figured out it was self ordering. That took a little to figure out but I did it. Grabbed a seat and waited for our number (123) to be called. A little surprised to see they had our order in a brown paper bag, but okay. Took them back to our table and upon taking them out of the bag, immediately noticed a fishy smell and I became concerned. The butter and Angie's seasonings were in little packets so we opened those and put some on top of the sandwich. The fries were okay and the amount of lobster was decent but definitely took a few bites with more bun than lobster and this is definitely NOT lobster from Maine, or it just wasnt fresh, but the smell, the taste, the flavor was nothing like what is served in Maine. Needless to say I didnt finish the meal (normal did my hubby as he is not a fan if it smells fishy) and we left there very disappointed with no plans of returning. Today we got breakfast from Angie's and we were very disappointed. We ordered our food at 9:30am and we were told it should be ready by 9:48am. We get there at 9:53am and they tell us it is not ready at all. Either because they got our name mixed up or were just not ready on time. More than that, my breakfast burrito was way too salty as well which is what ruined my experience too. The filling was fine but it's clear there was so much sodium to the point where it was almost spicy and it was ruining my throat. In the end, we're very disappointed in the breakfast here and won't order breakfast here again for a while. They just lost our rating and some of our service. read more

Flies and other flying insects flying around- I had to use the restrooms prior to ordering and bathrooms were so dirty and all the flying things were congregating around the bathroom hallway! Honestly, a fantastic concept for a luxury food restaurant in this economy. It's SOO affordable and customizable. My fiancé and I can both eat here for just $10. The concept of cleaning up after yourself (which everyone always should) is also a wonderful idea to keep costs low. Best bang for your buck food spot I've found locally. They give you so much protein (not enough carbs or veggies) but that's not a complaint for the price. Not sure how they make a profit. Two suggestions to improve experience. Allow the xl bowls to be steak or make it clear that's not a choice because the touch screen ordering causes confusion. Number 2 HAVE A DANG OPTION TO TIP THE STAFF. These guys/gals are busting their butt and don't even have a tip jar or option on screen to tip. (Also their drink choices could improve a lot (get that tractor soda). I have done every night this week and got lunch for the next day. Keep up the good work. Fast service too. Ordered a few items, prices are super reasonable but the execution and presentation on some of the items missed the mark for me. For one, the chicken tenders were decent for the price but the oil was old and they over crisped/burnt the coating. The Crunchwrap was also decent and for the price no complaints there. Mashed potato's were a huge disappointment, they had a slimy mushy texture and were in a container about 5x bigger than the portion so the gravy just went everywhere. Also order a chicken quesadilla and found a piece of hair embedded inside which was very gross turn off. As I mentioned the food isn't bad, and prices are very reasonable, a nice change from fast food, but being first time ever, I think we may not come back due to the hair. read more

I don't want to post a negative review but this is like the 5th time something has been wrong and it's pretty bad. I got a big cali burrito and it has no eggs... how do you forget the three eggs? Very impressed on our first time trying Angie's Prime Grill. The food was great, affordable, and had a lot of customizability which is very nice. We ordered pickup through the website and the food was ready in about 12 minutes (the estimate was that it would take 14 minutes). The chicken tenders and the fried fish were both excellent. The rice bowl and salad were both also delicious and for the price you get a good portion. Will definitely try again soon, I highly recommend! read more
