Good service, clean environment, safe and sanitary. Great facility. The burger was tasty, but they forgot my sauerkraut and the fries were kind of soft and didn't have much flavor. I would go again, but I'm hesitant to try their sides and add toppings that I may not receive on my food. Was moving my daughter to ASU and since I grew up in Buffalo, NY and used to live in Phoenix in the 1980s, I was thrilled to see another Ted's opening again in the area, Chandler/Gilbert, AZ --not sure the official location city -- We went there and actually met the owner -- Evan Ortolani. The great grandson of the founder and grandson of Spiro who brought it to Arizona in the 1980s whom I personally met at his Arizona flagship location in Tempe!! So for me it was amazing and Evan is another great person in this outstanding generational family business that is forever a part of my life growing up! The food is classic Ted's using the Sahlen's hot dogs and I am so happy to see the Ted's restaurant chain grow -- and yes, they have other great food and Loganberry you'll find nowhere else. My wife who grew up and lived in California all her life HATED hot dogs -- that is until she went to Buffalo and had a Sahlen's charcoal broiled at Ted's Hot Dogs -- its now the only hot dog she'll eat. A pleasure meeting you Evan! So, go there knowing you're in a 100-year generational restaurant and enjoy the BEST hot dog you'll EVER have! I guarantee it! HIGH FIVE to this entire crew!!! I have a tendency to bring a crowd when I visit or post a review, so hopefully this one does it again! I stopped in for a late lunch/early din-din and immediately noticed how clean and organized everything was. Kudos to this hardworking team! The gentleman who welcomed me in literally screamed his welcome , and honestly, I loved it! He was on top of everything, and the entire staff was fast, friendly, and attentive. For under $10, I got a hot dog with grilled onions, tomatoes, pickles, and ketchup, plus a pink lemonade. I loved being able to watch the food being prepared, and everyone wore gloves. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. We came in and ordered, and just beat the dinner rush!! Ordered a Ted's combo All Beef Hotdog with a chocolate shake. And an All Beef Chili Dog. The dining room has sage green booths and wall counter with stools. It is super clean!! Fries were super crispy and hot! The chocolate shake was thick and good rich chocolate flavor. My only gripe is the extra charge for sauce, like bbq or ranch. An order should at least come with one sauce. And charge for any extra. But happy to have a Ted's location closer to home now!! read more

I've been to the Ted's in Tempe a number of times, but this was my first visit to the Ted's in Chandler. I has pleased to see quite a few upgrades: the building is more modern with a more spacious interior, you no longer have to wait in a long line for your food...here you order at the counter and call your number when it's ready, the menu is large and easy to read, and other improved conveniences. There were more employees working here and they were friendly but clearly rushing around to fulfill both the dining in orders and the drive-thru orders. The food was just as I remembered- the charcoal grilled Sahlen's hot dogs with the casing that gives a muted snap as you bite into the dog, and the shoestring French fries and onion 'rings' they serve. I'm not a big fan of their onion rings as they are more like a pile of onions and batter and don't hold any shape. My wife got their grilled chicken sandwich and while she liked the flavor, the chicken breast was tiny for the high price. For beverages, the have a Pepsi soda fountain and several small dispensers for tea (that were empty when we were there). While the dining room is spacious, there's not a ton of tables to accommodate busier times...and there's no way I was sitting outside in the 110F heat...even if a few tables were in the shade. Overall, I like this new Ted's location and will likely be back for an occasional hot dog fix. read more

As someone who grew up in Chicago, I don't take hot dogs lightly, so I was excited to finally give Ted's Hot Dogs a try. First, the positives: the restaurant was spotless, modern, and had a great atmosphere. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent service. Everything looked well-maintained, and the food came out quickly. I ordered two charbroiled hot dogs with fries. The fries were solid--hot, well-seasoned, and a good complement to the meal. My biggest disappointment was the hot dogs themselves. Since Ted's is known for charbroiling, I was expecting a hot dog with a snappier, crispier casing from the grill. Instead, the casing was a little chewy, which took away from the overall experience for me. The toppings were good, but the texture of the dog just didn't deliver the bite I was hoping for. Maybe my Chicago roots have me spoiled--we set the bar pretty high when it comes to hot dogs! LBVS It certainly wasn't a bad meal, just not what I expected based on the reputation. The restaurant is very nice inside. Lots of windows and very comfortable. They have a large area outside that would be great in cooler weather. Service is fine. My husband and I got the all beef hot dogs, one fry container and a drink. The hot dog had a nice char to it and when I bit into it the snap was great. They do have burgers, onion rings and shakes. If you have an urge for a hot dog or brat give this place a try. read more

We've been Ted's fans for years and years from our visits to the Tempe location and we've been waiting for the new Chandler location to open. The food was just as good as we remember from our Tempe visits. Perfectly chargrilled hot dogs, tasty fries and onion rings and, of course, the Loganberry drink.  The service was so friendly (but a bit overwhelmed). Keep in mind longer wait-times should probably be expected at the new store. Plan accordingly. Our wait was on the longer side but reasonable with how busy it was. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with misters (but we tend to take our Ted's to go and eat it at home). It's all nostalgic foods that you know and love and so happy to have another location in the Valley now. read more

Been wanting to try Ted's hotdog for years I've heard so many things about it. Now that there is one right by my house and it was national hot dog day. I figured this was the perfect chance to finally give it a try. While I did enjoy it, I'm not too sure how often I would actually go back. It's not that I didn't like the place. This is a try it once and never again place. Way over priced and ultimately just fell flat. Polish dog had way too thick of a casing. Couldn't even finish it. Fry's were soggy. What a bust They only serve Pepsi products. Their kids meals are advertised as $7 but then they charge you $8.25 for them. And sides. Who in the world charges $1.39 for each ranch!!!! This place was highway robbery. Service was fine. They came around to our table at one point and asked us how everything was. Also for being 106* outside there were not enough tables inside to seat everyone. Standing room only indoors and groups waiting for tables because it was way too hot outside. Also looking over our receipt I think we should have been offered combos. Ordered quite a few items here. I liked the burger though it could've used more sauce. Both hot dogs were good. I think I prefer the sausage dog over the other one though. The fries were probably the worst part. Although the chilli cheese was decent tasting, there wasn't much on the fries. I think ordering regular fries and having aioli on the side would've probably been a better idea. Had to sit outside because this place is pretty bustling and there were no seats. This is just good, solid food made with care. The all-beef hot dogs hit the spot, and the burgers are great. We tried the loganberry milkshake--definitely a unique offering--and we loved it! Ted's has been a family favorite for many years. We would always go to the Tempe location, so when we heard they were opening one in Chandler, we knew that we had to go. I appreciate the interior design; it still has hints of retro but with a modern and comfortable feel. We ordered a variety of items for our family of 5, and the order came out quickly despite the line of people. I thought the fries and onion rings were tasty, but I'm sad to say that my footlong dog was a bit too charred and had dried out in the grilling process; it made for a tough bite. The one at the register was only interested in taking your order and could care less about anything else. Brand new place, just getting grounded, so I am being open minded in my rating. Have been going to the Tempe location for years. Favorites have been the white hot dogs, rings & loganberry drink. Pros... dogs are charcoal grilled. Loganberry drink is still good. Employees seem friendly. Cons... this menu does not include all items. Ordered at 3:35pm, received food at 4:05 We both had foot longs, and they were generous size! Unfortunately, not much flavor. Got the split order of half fries half rings. Fries below average, and barely warm. Rings also barely warm & more crumble than onion. Bland! Sat there for a half hour watching the bun prep guy wipe his face & nose with the back of his gloved hand! Carefully read all the reviews, and I wish I had the apparently superb 5 star experience as most of those reviewers!!!! Doubtful that we will return here. Glad to see Ted's get their new restaurant opened and running. Beautiful restaurant and certainly no expense spared on the setup and design. Got through the line fairly quickly. Amazed they had mostly one talented guy grilling up the dogs and burgers and our order was ready in less than 15 minutes. I had expected longer as they were very busy.. We had a foot long with chili and onions with a split of fries and onions rings. Perfectly done and as tasty as I'd remembered. Looking forward to the upcoming steak sandwich and trying out some sausage. Pretty happy the Ted's is right between my house and my girlfriend's. read more

The four of us went today. We order a variety of dishes. Hot dog, burger, fries and onion rings. None were excellent. It seems if you are going to open a hot dog centered restaurant you would at least nail that. Burger bun was refrigerator cold and they forgot the cheese. The hotdog was not favorable and the bun old in that in was hard and cracked at the slightest pressure The fries and rings were good. Food was average, the dogs are better than a ballpark dog but not better than what we can make at home. Just didn't taste the appeal. The onion rings were like eating fried batter with very little onion. It was a busy afternoon that didn't impact the review. It's understandable they need to work out the kinks of people standing around waiting to pick up the orders and the drink area. Never been to any location and this will be our last time visiting. The new Teds is located on the Chandler/Gilbert border in a brand new facility with open beams on the ceiling and some pretty fantastic retro decor. We tried a variety of things from the menu. Everything came out looking like food porn. The Double burger with Ted's aioli burger sauce was cooked to perfection. The hot Italian sausage was especially good with grilled onions. The polish and all beef dogs were hot and fresh and had the iconic casing snap (yes!) but my favorite was the split onion rings and fries. We couldn't leave without getting a chocolate shake. My husband and I have been wanting to try Ted's and I'm so glad we finally did! I tried a chili cheese dog and the corn dog and he tried the all beef dog and a corn dog! We enjoyed it so much that my husband even went back and ordered seconds! The service was friendly and quick, the restaurant had a cool vibe and everything was very clean. Clean facility, VERY friendly staff, and good food, but the WAIT can be very long. It is NOT fast food, so be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes to get your food during lunch or dinner times. Yes, the taking and calling names approach is a vast improvement over the original Tempe location method of standing in line throughout the process, BUT there can still be a significant line to place your order AND they cook each order from scratch in the sequence in which they were placed, so on the whole, it is quite time consuming and can sorely try your patience if you're hungry. read more

Ordered a chili dog with mustard.when they finally called my name, my dog was covered in cheese. I said I didn't order cheese and I didn't want it. The kid asked me for my receipt and then looked it over very carefully, as if he didn't believe me. He apologized and said it would be a few minutes. Ten minutes later I asked an employee about my food and her reply was " I don't know I wasn't working on it." I said I was aware that she wasn't working on it but could she please check on it. She kind of rolled her eyes and walked away. Several minutes later my food arrived with no apologies for it taking longer than the original order. Food is just ok and definitely not worth the price. I will come back again in six months and give it one more try. Hopefully, their servers will be better trained on customer service and the prices will match the food. read more

Loved it, reminds me of my childhood going to the Tempe location. Food was great, hot and fast. My only complaint would be the size of the dining area during summer. Too hot to sit outside and very limited seating inside. They should probably install a nice misting system for the patio to encourage outside seating in the summer. Food was consistent to other Ted's locations: meaning it was great. Hot dogs remained the perfect about of crips and char to go with the fixings. Son loved his cheeseburger with minimal toppings because of being picky about what he puts on them. Everyone we dealt with at the restaurant was friendly and helpful. Line was long as this was Day 3 of this location's opening. We waited 35 mins in line but thankfully the delivery of food was a non issue. Thrilled it's made it a bit closer to home. Stopped by Teds Hot Dog drive thru to grab lunch for my kids. When I arrived on Saturday the drive thru was non-operational. I waited in line for approximately 45 minutes. When I ordered the cashier was pleasant and helpful especially as it was my first time there and seeing the menu. I then waited for approximately 25 minutes at the pass to receive our food. When it came it was set up for a dine in experience and I had asked for it to be to go. The pass worker, a female whose name i missed, didn't miss a beat. She pivoted and packed up our lunch in a fast and professional manner. She apologized and thank me for my patience. I thanked her for her great work! The food: I have never had Teds before but i have had good experiences with food from Buffalo, NY: wings from Anchor Bar, pierogis, etc. I did like the aroma of hot dogs cooking on the charcoal grill and they did not disappoint. The all beef hot dog had a great taste and texture. My son had the polish sausage which he said was the best he ever had. The onion rings were not what i was expecting and I was pleasantly surprised: they were well seasoned, perfectly cooked and were definitely NOT a gut bomb. I will definitely try them again. The chili: i grew up with Tommy Burger chili as my ideal chili for any burger, hot dog, or fries. I also enjoy chili from Douglas Burger in LA and Bens Chili Bowl in Washington DC. The chili from Teds was different, a little sweeter and more cumin forward. Fortunately i like cumin and found Teds chili a refreshing new experience. Great balance of sweet, savory, and spice. The overall experience at Teds was great. Food was worth the price and time investment, staff was excellent, being helpful, pleasant, and professional for being such a busy day. Went to the newly opened Ted's today for lunch. I was impressed with the outdoor covered seating with misters! The line went out the door but I was impressed as to how quickly we got through it. Every worker I encountered was friendly and helpful. I ordered an all beef hot dog with onion pickles and mustard. It came out hot and juicy with a really soft bun. Just the way I expected it to be. My partner ordered a chili dog and a split fry's and onion rings. All was hot and delicious. I was not disappointed and am so glad Ted's opened in my area!!! I'll be back! read more
