Excellent breakfast!! Went to Angie's this morning and had such a pleasant experience! Despite a full parking lot we received wonderful, quick service. Our breakfast was delicious! I especially loved their biscuits and hash browns. And the eggs were cooked to perfection. I read to get there early, so we arrived at 7:30am and had no problem getting a table. Best breakfast place in Raleigh. Just absolutely delicious. Toast and biscuits as soon as we sat down there. I got home fries with melted cheese which were great and eggs Benedict, which I'm super particular about, but they were recommended by our waitress and I went for it. I was not disappointed. Very tasty. My friend got pancakes which were flaky, tasty and huge. There was also a server walking around with country ham biscuits in the shape of a heart for Valentine's Day. They also handed my friend and all the ladies a rose for Valentine's Day. Really great local place and we had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated as it was packed. Definitely worth the wait and I can see why people wait for this place. Not sure why anyone would go to IHOP when you could drive a little further for Angie's. Great restaurant. This place was literally an oasis to us! We were en route from New Bern back to the Charlotte area during a recent "winter weather event." There were many places that were closed on our way. Taking an exit off the interstate looking for a Hardees, our GPS led us right by this place, and it caught our eye. Why? It was colorful and the parking lot was full! We entered in to many warm greetings by "Angie" herself (we presume) and the wait staff. The place was full, but thankfully a table had opened up and we were immediately seated. We knew we had found a gem. First of all, there were at least four patrons wearing some sort of camoflauge. ;) That generally means the locals frequent it. The waitresses are overheard calling patrons "sweetie" and "honey." Check. Two other biggies for me is that the place took both credit cards AND had free WIFI. Not too many greasy spoons do that. Kudos again. And, the sweet tea was great. Well done. The food was also excellent. I got the fried chicken liver dinner, which was on special, with fried okra and deviled eggs. All yummy. The deviled eggs could have used a bit more mustard flavor, but that was the only thing I would have changed. They even throw in a few hush puppies on your plate for good measure, which were the kind that taste like they were made in funnel cake batter. My wife got the Club. I was impressed at how big it was. The ham was sliced thick. I was grateful that a "happy accident" led us to this place. I will be back! Garner is a small town that is most recently famous for being the home of American Idol Winner Scotty McCreary. I asked the waitress had he ever visited, and she said he hadn't. She said "Can you believe he's never been here? He needs to get in here and check us out!" I couldn't agree more. :) read more

As a God fearing man, if I discovered that Angie's had sold her soul to the devil for the recipe to this gravy, my fat ass would still come back on a regular. This restaurant was surprisingly delicious!! As we drove up to the place you can it was crowded because we had to circle around looking for a parking spot. Once we walked in, the bench was filled with patrons waiting for a seat. We got called and seated, it was on from there. Cindy was our waitress and when I tell you she had such a sweet personality that one would have to think of her as the owner. She was attentive and personable. She checked on us more than four times. We were totally impressed. The food (fried chicken sandwich was life after death) breathtaking. When I was done Cindy asked me if I had room for their infamous banana pudding.
