Angie's has the exact vibe of a restaurant that I want to visit every weekend for breakfast. It is ostensibly family owned and operated and the staff is always so kind. I give it 4 stars only because I don't like the style of pancakes that they serve, which is my go to breakfast dish. They are a chewier texture, when I prefer a light and fluffy one. I had chicken livers with gravy which was good but I had hush puppies that were cold and the tomatoes that were in the cucumber salad was terrible, you might as well not even put them in the cucumber salad because they were so bad. read more

This was our first time here!! Angie was very welcoming, and staff were friendly. Good portions, and good prices. This seems to be the spot for all the locals to come to! It was packed, and a lot of people seemed to know each other. The Trojan burger is delicious, it's not your average burger to say the least. Biscuits and gravy are huge, we did not finish it. Can't wait to come back! Many said that the pot roast is amazing, so we will def come back to try that. read more

We came down from New York to go see a hurricane's game and we were in the mood for some local fare. It's amazing that there are so many trendy places is Raleigh but coming from NY I've had my fill of "trendy". It was super busy on the day I visited and was offered by the hostess to sit at a table with another guest; I was ok with that. I placed my order with the hostess and had some coffee. The other guest finished and left. Being I was seated alone I told the hostess it was ok that another guest sit here with me. Long story short I had not received my order after 40 minutes and so I had to leave because I had to work. The hostess brought my order out but I refused it because it took so long. It was offered to the guests sitting with me. I proceeded with my ticket to pay for the order; however, Ms. Angie was kind enough to take the ticket in my stead. That was an honorable gesture and I was very grateful. However, I was as highly disappointed in the fact that I did not get to eat. I paid a visit to Angie's not just because of the reviews from my fellow Yelpers, but also because I drive past this place several times per week and the place always has a packed parking lot. I had lunch with my wife and we were quickly seated by a super friendly waitress. She actually sat at our table and made very good suggestions. I ordered the Trojan burger and my wife got a "made to order" burger. The food was delicious and the burgers juicy. Though not cooked to the medium rare I like, it was not overcooked at all. One of the best country kitchen eateries in the state. The food is authentic, the service is second to none and that includes a side of of "Southern greetings", like "Suge", "Honey", and "Darling" thrown in for free. My favorite thing to get is the breakfast, (large grits, 2 eggs with cheese, red-eye gravy, 2 slices of toast, and 3 strip of bacon prepared just right). It reminds me of my mom's cooking and the love that she put into it. I highly recommend Angie's. read more

Angie's Restaurant is the BEST restaurant in town. The food is absolutely delicious and is made with love. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Our waitress, Michelle, went above and beyond to accommodate us. It is a great downhome restaurant where people are happy to be there. Also, Angie's does catering!!! We had a Family Reunion last month with over 40 people. Everyone LOVED the food!!! There was more than enough food to feed our company after the reunion was over. The BEST Eggs Benedict alternative I've ever had...Biscuits, with country ham, the perfectly poached eggs the way I asked, and sausage gravy. omg (as my daughters say). this was so delicious. My wife had scrambled eggs with fresh spinach. she loved it. service was impeccable for being so busy...wait time was communicated and we were seated prior. our waitress was the kindest, smiling the whole time. all the staff were up beat...the energy here (and the diversity) made it feel like a real slice of America, that we can all get along! the space is what you might expect...not modern but functional. Driving through North Carolina, we met up with family who recommended this restaurant. Food was excellent, service was phenomenal even with a full house and line out the door. Look no further for one of the best hometown restaurants in NC where everyone knows your name, or if you are a first time visitor, they will know it the second time you are around. The food and veggies are fresh and I can't say enough good things about Angie's sourcing. She is not afraid to tell you where her Flounder or Shrimp was caught that week. She also claims both are Chem Free. We stopped eating at NC Seafood Restaurant after learning that they have been sourcing farmed flounder from China (fully of yucky) and farmed chem shrimp from India. yuck. Anyhow, I'm not hear to talk about NCSR, but to say how impressed I was with Angies and all the staff. They just make everyone feel at home and welcomed. We look forward to returning soon. if you like Big Eds you will like Angie's. hubby and I tend to do farm to table restaurants like plates, kitchen and obviously this place doesn't compare. But I will admit, I spent more money at Angie's than I did at Plates and our food was very mediocre. their water tastes funny which intern makes all the food taste the same. The grits tasted like metal and everything else was just very mediocre. My husband will eat anything and he said this is gross and only took one bite of his omelette. I will admit once you're seated you get your food really fast, but is it worth it? it cost $31 before tip for one omelette and one breakfast with two eggs and bacon. And one hot tea. I will admit this place is packed so if you love diner, food come on in. fast food doesn't necessarily mean great food. but the locals love it. read more

Great spot for a good ol country breakfast. My friend took me there to treat me for running errands for him. The place was crowded around 1:10 pm; the establishment closes at 2 so I was a little concerned about rushed service or food not cooked to perfection. I worried for no reason; food was all he hyped it up to be and more. Service was good but I felt lord servers were needed by looking at the size of the crowd but the waitress was nice and performed her job well. Only reason for the 4 stars; they ran out of hush puppies . I will definitely visit again!! read more

They really hagreat food at Angies Restaurant in Garner, NC. They have huge portions and a super safe environment. I had the Meat Lovers Omelet with a Blueberry Pancake. Lets just say the portion for one could have easily been enough for two. Everything was prepared hot and fresh. Our food arrived very quickly. It was a great value and well worth it. Fantastic local breakfast! Everything we had (omelettes, biscuits and gravy) was delicious. Started with 2 biscuits and sausage gravy. They were huge so one would have been plenty to share. Good amount of sausage and fluffy biscuits. My mom's is the best but for being a restaurant, it was very good. My omelette was perfectly cooked. Fluffy and lots of fresh, quality ingredients. Even the toast was nicely buttered such a rarity. The owner Angie and her crew obviously take a lot of pride in their business and our server Mel is excellent. Very friendly & efficient. read more

I was in Town for soccer with my daughter and she wanted breakfast for lunch after her game. We decided to make the 20 minute drive out of the way from leaving the State and let me tell you, it was well worth it. I have never been to a restaurant where the energy, people and food were on fire! The hospitality we received that day was truly what Restaurant Hospitality should be. It is sad to say, most don't practice anymore. It was a beautiful experience walking into this place. It was ALIVE. Everyone laughing, talking, enjoying themselves. The workers busy and going out of their way to make sure you were good to go and enjoying their food and time was in no other words "Out of this World". We visit MANY restaurants and even though it's not all super fancy etc... I'd rather much go here and enjoy good food with excellent staff and company. If this place is not receiving all 5 stars? Yum, yum, and yummy! So, about 2 weeks ago, we stop by our favorite jewelers, Lee's. When we mention to Mr. Lee we're fixin' to go eat, he tells us about this place. We drive over and I can tell you, it didn't disappoint either of us! My partner in dining (a Yankee, no less), got the crab cake, potato salad, and corn nuggets. I got fried pork chops, green beans, and deviled eggs. It was all so good, and our server, Tracey, was wonderful! Keep in mind that we live in Wake Forest, so Garner is not really close by. But this Saturday, we made the trek again. This time I got the Western omelet. The only one better is one I make! The partner in dining got the Eggs Benedict and home fries and said it was the 2nd best one he's ever had. The only one who might beat this one is in Myrtle Beach. That time our server was Donna, and she was wonderful as well! Since he's gone back to work and talked so highly of it, a coworker of his went yesterday and had the liver and onions, and loved that. He also tried the mashed potatoes! So today my partner in dining calls to see if he can buy deviled eggs for our Thanksgiving (not that I can't make them, but I work retail and I actually hate making them!), and they made them just for me! He, of course, ate a burger and fries, and his buddy got a Trojan burger and onion rings....and this dude can EAT, and couldn't finish all his food. I am always pleased when I find a great restaurant. My reviews reflect how much I appreciate a well-operated, well-supported restaurant that I found completely by chance. Angie's Restaurant in Garner, North Carolina is exactly that kind of restaurant. Several months ago, I reviewed Angie's. I wondered if I visited this restaurant again if I would have as good an experience as I had on my first visit. So, I went back. I stopped by Angie's on November 8th. My visit was at the peak of the lunch rush, Guests were lined up out the door. The waiting lobby was full. Angie, as usual, was on the floor interacting with all the guests and supporting her team. I gave the hostess my name and started a timer to see how long I had to wait for a table. My wait was 4 minutes! Off to a very good start! I was taken to my table and immediately greeted by my server, Tracey. Her greeting was genuine and warm. I knew instantly that I was in very good hands and that I had a server who was exceptional at her work. Tracey was absolutely phenomenal. She presented the daily specials, made several outstanding menu recommendations and quickly got my order to the kitchen and then delivered my drinks. Angie's is famous for home type cooking; that impressed me my first visit. The food was great again this time too. Portions are great. Plates overflow with quality. I did not leave hunger! Tracey's way of serving the food and her follow-up visits made the food taste even better. On this visit, I wanted to observe the type of people who were eating here. The clientele was very diverse which added to the warmth and ambiance to Angie's. Here's another thing I observed this visit. Angie and her team were able to accommodate large parties easily and graciously. I saw many tables of 7 or more with other large groups arriving throughout lunchtime. No problem, no panic, for Angie's team. Large tables were served as though they were tables for two. Service was personal and each guest was able to interact with the servers. I'm not sure what I expected to find this visit to Angie's. What I found, again, was a restaurant led by a manager who takes care of her team and her customers, is proud of the food she serves and just loves to make her customers happy. My last review I said people should visit Angie's for a great experience. This review, I'm saying customers MUST visit Angie's for a dining experience of their lives! My go-to breakfast spot! You know it's good by the line that's literally out the door. I appreciate the fact that they actually cook their home fries on the griddle. I cannot stand deep fried home fries. I'm a chef by trade so I notice the little things. And I also like the seasoning they use. Wide variety of breakfast meats/ side choices. Biscuits are great but I had to stop ordering them since my baby has a milk and egg allergy. Thankfully he can eat the oatmeal with a side of fruit. I do wish they had a milk substitute for my little man, but I just bring some with me for his oatmeal. Natalie's juice for orange juice which I'm a huge fan. I've been to trade shows and actually met the owners myself. It's a great company with quality products. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the friendly staff and Angie herself is a very nice lady. Also the free range chickens that hang out outside the restaurant are a great touch! I came here for breakfast the day I had my baby. I had to get one last good meal in before labor. read more
