I had breakfast at Angie's on a Saturday morning. We had to wait about 25 minutes to be seated, but the food was definitely worth the wait!! We ordered a breakfast platter (eggs, porkchop, grits, hash browns) and omelette (big country omelette), both were delicious. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive our requests. I will definitely be back to try the lunch menu. This was an excellent county breakfast! I look forward to trying their lunch platter soon. read more

I am always pleased when I find a great restaurant. My reviews reflect how much I appreciate a well-operated, well-supported restaurant that I found completely by chance. Angie's Restaurant in Garner, North Carolina is exactly that kind of restaurant. Several months ago, I reviewed Angie's. I wondered if I visited this restaurant again if I would have as good an experience as I had on my first visit. So, I went back. I stopped by Angie's on November 8th. My visit was at the peak of the lunch rush, Guests were lined up out the door. The waiting lobby was full. Angie, as usual, was on the floor interacting with all the guests and supporting her team. I gave the hostess my name and started a timer to see how long I had to wait for a table. My wait was 4 minutes! Off to a very good start! I was taken to my table and immediately greeted by my server, Tracey. Her greeting was genuine and warm. I knew instantly that I was in very good hands and that I had a server who was exceptional at her work. Tracey was absolutely phenomenal. She presented the daily specials, made several outstanding menu recommendations and quickly got my order to the kitchen and then delivered my drinks. Angie's is famous for home type cooking; that impressed me my first visit. The food was great again this time too. Portions are great. Plates overflow with quality. I did not leave hunger! Tracey's way of serving the food and her follow-up visits made the food taste even better. On this visit, I wanted to observe the type of people who were eating here. The clientele was very diverse which added to the warmth and ambiance to Angie's. Here's another thing I observed this visit. Angie and her team were able to accommodate large parties easily and graciously. I saw many tables of 7 or more with other large groups arriving throughout lunchtime. No problem, no panic, for Angie's team. Large tables were served as though they were tables for two. Service was personal and each guest was able to interact with the servers. I'm not sure what I expected to find this visit to Angie's. What I found, again, was a restaurant led by a manager who takes care of her team and her customers, is proud of the food she serves and just loves to make her customers happy. My last review I said people should visit Angie's for a great experience. This review, I'm saying customers MUST visit Angie's for a dining experience of their lives! Parking lot was packed and there was a line at the door. Seemed like they were turning over tables fairly quickly. Breakfast isn't a long meal to cook or eat. We saw several picnic tables outside so we got carry out. 2 Eggs Benny with hash browns and coffee. Took about 10-15 minutes and was yummy. Steaming hot. The staff was super friendly. The cashier ( maybe even Angie herself - idk) was cool a a cucumber in what could have been chaos. Everyone was smiling - staff and patrons. Breakfast served all day. WOW! WOW! WOW! I Work with ladies in the office who are deaf and this was a breakfast choice from YELP, to check out and there are no regrets only praise for this place. From the moment we were sat to our server Brandy she served us with kindness, joyful and patient with our mostly Deaf group, she took time with the ladies, we di have one little hiccup with 1 order (I Will get to that later) but the food came out timely, hot and delicious. I Had eggs and hash browns, Bacon and an English Muffin. Sounds simple but there are places in Charlotte ( I Won't mention names but could not cook over easy eggs to save their lives. All of the ladies enjoyed their food and Ivy had a Birthday and they gave her the Birthday Waffle in the pictures and we all shared, the strawberries were fresh along with everything else that came to the table. Brenda ordered fatback, I can not tell you the last time I had seen that on the menu and it was awesome. If they ever add in SPAM, this place will have your meats covered. We enjoyed this very much and this will be our place to come for breakfast and if you already live in this area and are not already eating here, you are doing yourself a dis-service. The staff is welcoming and seems like the old TV Series "Friends" because it sure seemed they knew every ones name. LOL Now to re-visit above as I said most of our ladies are deaf and there was a misunderstanding with one of the orders, and Courtney who was working the cash register said she had it and did not charge for the item and I insisted but she said it was okay they got it, it could have turned out to be a moment of embarrassment for our deaf lady but instead it turned out to be a Customer Service WIN for Angie's. While I was thanking Courtney Angie the proprietor came up and could not have been more friendly and I told her about our experience and we will be back. You have some great people Angie and pay them just a little more to keep them with you. I Do not give 5 stars very often but when I do the place deserves it and this place does. Food is always great, the service is as quick as can be expected, considering how busy it always is (because the food is wonderful!), and the ambiance is that of a bustling diner with friendly waitstaff and customers. This restaurant is a small, local, gem. I've been in garner about 13 years and I just visited 11/2019. It's hard finding places with real southern food. They have good prices, and you can usually get in and out pretty fast. I got the egg platter with liver pudding, grits and a hot cake. This is exactly what you look for in a home style breakfast. Another item that i didn't try was the biscuits and molasses, but I will next time. read more

A small town gem, Garner has kept this amazing stop to themselves for too long I had to share about this fantastic place. For our relatives annual labor Day lunch this year, we selected to go to this local Garner favorite. Called them a week in advance to let them know we had a party of about 15 coming at noon on a Saturday. Angie's is popular and has a tight parking lot. Translation: at the busier times you are either going to circle around trying to find a close parking spot (I only had to do one circle), plan to park way out back and hike to the door, or drop off passengers so they don't have to walk and then go park and hike. At the peak times also expect a wait. Fortunately they do have a small space to be seated while you wait (about a dozen folks can fit there) but they are quick to greet you and get you on the wait list. Even with our advance notice we had to wait about 15 minutes before our large party could be seated. This is our good ol' country cooking breakfast and lunch spot. All the employees were friendly, polite, and made the experience great for our group. Even had one man that addressed our group, asked if there were any upcoming birthdays (we had two) led us in singing Happy Birthday and then sang to us the "Angie's Song". All of our food was delivered with minimal waiting. I ordered the country style steak with mashed potatoes and deviled eggs. Good country flavor, ample serving. Great local spot. read more

Found this place through Yelp and could not have been happier. Arrived to a good size parking lot, filled with cars and a line out the door (good and bad). Told wait would just be 15 minutes so waited. Struck up conversation with local folks also waiting and they said it was worth the wait. Angie (owner) came out sand said the people we were talking to invited us to join them (we have already come to realize that the people in Raleigh are unbelievably friendly). The service and food were very, very good! Omelettes were especially good (and generous in size and stuffed with our choice of fillings), which we were told in advance were great. The building is an old cafe from years ago that has been updated nicely but remains comfortable and not at all sterile. Lots of locals eat there as we saw lots of hugs and welcome backs from the servers. Definitely recommend if you are in the area! read more
