We were looking for a quick bite to eat on this side of Charlotte and it didn't disappoint. Parking is tight but the food was good and what you would expect from a sport bar. Outdoor area that is dog friendly.

Angry Ale's was the perfect spot to celebrate our wedding anniversary on Sunday, February 22. We selected this establishment for its unique atmosphere, diverse jukebox, delicious bar food, convenient location, and wide selection of drinks and beers. Over the course of 2.5 hours, we enjoyed sampling a range of appetizers, sandwiches, tacos and desserts while taking turns playing our favorite songs on the jukebox. The service from the wait staff was exceptional, providing attentive and timely refreshments. The ambiance was pleasant, with a moderate noise level that allowed for effortless conversation and socializing.

I enjoyed Angry Ale's for what it is -- a no-fuss, no-frills neighborhood bar. And just like the bar, everything is solid: The service, the food, the drink drinks. I love how casual it is. It's like they expect you to come in and just be at home. Even if you're sitting outside on the patio, they want you to see yourselves and a waiter will come to you, inside the restaurant, you can choose to sit at the bar or at a high top, or a booth. Do not expect fancy bites here. You will find American classics, like sandwiches, wings, nachos, etc. Definitely a good spot to watch sports. Parking is tight - they have a small lot. But there is parking along the street.

I've been here many times before and it's usually pretty busy. They have a lot of TVs throughout the bar, both inside and out! The food is what you would expect for a sports bar, except they have a few options that seem random... I went out on a ledge and ordered the hibachi. The hibachi comes with steak and it seemed to be good quality. My expectations were not to be the same as hibachi from one of the Japanese restaurants, but a rendition. I was shocked that it seemed / tasted great and almost a slightly healthier home cooked version. I would definitely get this again!! Service was great tonight - things came out pretty fast and we weren't waiting around for our check. I do love that you seat yourself here. I've been here before when you can't find a seat or service was lagged. That wasn't my experience tonight and it was pretty busy!

If you are into spors bars and a great hangout with friends with a local feel, then Angry Ale's os for you! This is your usual sports bar with a great location (centrally located Montford area, about 10 minutes from uptown/downtown). It has a small free parking lot with also a few free street spots. The menu offers the usual options of burgers, hot dogs, wraps, wings, etc. It also has a full bar with a good variety of beers (main brands and local options) and other cocktails. I ordered a Michelob Ultra and the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. The food was good. The service was also really good. One detail you have to keep in mind is that they allow outside smoking. Also, there are plenty of screens all over the place, so it's a great place to watch your favorite team. Overall, highly recommended.

Went here mid day on a Sunday during NHL playoffs, plenty of tables open! Our server was great, came to check in often and she had tons of tables. I'm sure during football season this place is the place to be! Today starts CLT taco week so we only ordered tacos. But we will be coming back for more food! Wings look great. Buffalo bacon taco was really well executed. The flavors meshed perfectly and the ratios of ingredients were spot on. My friend LOVED the gringo taco which has pork and grilled jalapeños on it. Wish there was a corn tortilla option. Can't beat $4 mimosa. My friend got a Bloody Mary and said it was really good.

The events of the evening including our meal from this place really is out of an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. We missed our connecting flight to Louisville so had to stay the night in Charlotte. After getting our shit settled at the airport and booking a hotel room for the night, we checked in and got to work looking for something to order. Our first flight was delayed multiple hours so we were starving by this time. I chose this place because they had some good southern food items that I try to take advantage of whenever I venture to the south. I ordered a smorgasbord of shit: mac and cheese, beyond burger, hush puppies, sauteed green beans, and mashed potatoes. We waited patiently, much longer than original projected time until the uber eats driver was THREE minutes away from our hotel and we were chomping at the bit to bust into this order. Suddenly, they cancelled the order. Can you fucking imagine? I was furious. I didn't want to take up time trying to order something else so I literally just reordered the same order above from here. The people were probably like wtf? Fortunately, the driver we got this time was our HERO and actually delivered the food. Firstly, huge props for having a beyond burger. It's something that's so simple but most places haven't wrapped their head around this concept yet. There was nothing special about it otherwise. There was lettuce that was a lil sad looking but I was appreciative of its inclusion. The green beans did what they intended. I've had better and I've had worse. Nothing particularly memorable about them or their flavor. Mac and cheese was covered in bacon despite me not ordering "loaded", neither of us eat bacon. Once we scraped that shit off, they were very good. Mac and cheese was enjoyable. Hush puppies were pretty good. Grateful for this place for being open at that hour and giving us something to stuff down our pie hole but it was otherwise nothing to write home about.

My friends and I stopped at Angry Ale's last night for a quick dinner after a group workout. We were all pretty exhausted so hoping to pop in and out, but somehow stayed for over two hours! The service was surprisingly slow for a Tuesday night but they did have trivia night so the bar and outdoor area were pretty packed. Otherwise, the food and drinks here are great. It's the perfect casual eating spot with typical bar food ranging from burgers, to hot dogs, pasta and quesadillas. I got the cowboy sliders which came with fried chicken, cheese and pickles, as well as a side of tots. A perfect filling dinner that was exactly what I needed to fill me up and send me to sleep for the night HAHA!

We came for dinner Easter Sunday. My sister was in town with her dog,so we sat on the patio. She was so excited they had a dog menu. They played great reggae music, 311, Rebelution,Ballyhoo and Iration. Food was on point, and their tap cider beers are so smooth. My sister is from NJ and loves a good dive bar. This is our fav and we had to bring her!

Me personally it's a little out of the way to become a regular haunt located in between Plaza and NoDa but not walking distance from either. Also it's not that the service was ever unfriendly but I just didn't feel like it was my vibe. Still a cool bar though and I can see why other enjoy it.

Super talented bartenders mixed great cocktails and they have some nice selections of beer on tap and wine. She knew tge menu and had great insights. She was crazy busy but took excellent care of us. The food was quite nice. Candied Bacon is a must. I had a perfectly cooked filet, we had a delicious short rib, and the Cone Trio. The trio was really tasty but the kitchen somehow forgot to put the tuna in one cone and it was only guacamole. We also wanted to celebrate with a strawberry mojito. First, our waiter told us they were out of the non-alcoholic version, so we said we'd just get the alcoholic one instead. He came back again and apologized, saying he had misspoken--they don't offer strawberry mojitos at all, either non-alcoholic or alcoholic. He first suggested a cranberry spritzer, then recommended a lemon drop and a strawberry chipotle mojito. Unfortunately, both drinks were disappointing. The lemon drop was bland, and the strawberry chipotle mojito barely tasted like it had any alcohol and was also lacking flavor. We were told the upstairs comedy club had recently been renovated. While it looked updated, I was surprised by how small the stage was. The seating also felt cramped, with four people expected to share a very small table. Compared to other comedy clubs we've visited in Charlotte, the layout just didn't feel well thought out. The highlight of the night was getting to see Flame Monroe, but overall the venue itself didn't leave a lasting impression. If you're curious, it's worth visiting once to experience it for yourself, but it's probably not a place we'll return to.
