Never heard of this place but it came up in a search for "quick healthy lunch". Turns out, some folks from church frequent this place and were there. Apparently keeping secrets! The menu is extensive but I quickly settled on the salad bowl with spicy chicken. Didn't take long and my name was called and my to-go order was bagged and on the counter. Not being a rookie at this, I checked for utensils and napkins (to go, you know!). Bummer - a miss on both counts. Napkins - easy. Fork/spork/chop sticks - not so. I had to spin around a few times like a dog show pup before determining there are none available to the public. Like a restroom in the middle of nowhere, you have to ask. But - there's no one to ask. They're all busy putting together the next hot orders. Fortunately, someone else had food ordered so I grabbed someone's attention and quickly got my utensil. I waved at my friends and out the door I went. The salad was amazing. Loved the crispy chicken, veggies, and nicely balanced amount of dressing. And the portions - plenty! I ordered a Chopped Chicken Salad and an Elote Corn side to go on Sunday, 06/28/26, at around 6:40 PM. When I came to pick up my order and checked the bag, I noticed that it only contained the salad--the corn side was missing. I politely mentioned it to the male employee at the register (he had a mullet hairstyle with a long tail and a beard). He seemed like he might have been a supervisor or manager, although I'm not sure. When I told him my order was missing the corn side, he looked into the bag, turned toward the kitchen, grabbed the side, and handed it to me. The entire interaction felt awkward. He had a cold expression, didn't say a word, and didn't apologize. I wasn't rude to him at all, but his attitude came across as unfriendly and dismissive. Mistakes happen, and I completely understand that. However, I think it's common courtesy to at least apologize when an order is incomplete, rather than making the customer feel like they're inconveniencing you. I've ordered takeout from this location several times before and have never had an unpleasant experience like this. read more

This chicken was great when I ate it the first time at Popeye's. The coating was like mild popeye's coating, a little thick but the chicken inside was tender and well cooked. The outdoor seating was fine, the drink selection was good. We'll probably try it again at some point. It was okay quality and value for money spent. read more

Never even had to talk or be face to face with an employee. They have this new menu going on with all Japanese flavor. Wish I could've loved this place but I honestly couldn't. I recently got the chance to try Starbird and I couldn't wait to come back. I was literally CRAVING their Chop Salad. lol. I decided to bring my family here so we could enjoy a nice casual dinner. When we arrived there was plenty of parking and there were only two people in the whole restaurant. I looked over to order and no one was at the register, but then I realized I was supposed to order at the kiosk in front. Honestly I am really not a fan for kiosks for a restaurant because I feel like touching a screen that so many people touch is unsanitary.. but I decided it was not a dealbreaker today. (We just went to the bathroom to wash our hands super well after using the kiosk.) The bathrooms are brand new and nicely kept. I ordered the Barbecue Chicken sandwich with a side of street corn and a drink. We also decided to get the Chicken Chop Salad with avocado and add a side of Brussels Sprouts with a drink. As well as ordering a Kids meal that features chicken nuggets, fries and a drink. I was so excited because I love their selections of different lemonades, they're so yummy! First of all you can definitely taste how high quality the sandwich is and it is very tasty! Great taste and great quality for the Chicken Sandwich but sadly.. I don't think that the price overall is worth it because it's so small in size and includes no sides.. I enjoyed this sandwich but I wouldn't get it again at the current size/price point. My family absolutely LOVED the chop salad with added guac. It was phenomenal. This salad is definitely a great value because it has enough salad to serve two people so the price evens out at $14. Highly recommend the Chop Salad with added guac. It was delicious, satisfying, and filling. LOVE IT. For the kids meal, it had about 4 nuggets and VERY plain fries. My daughter enjoyed the nuggets but sadly HATED the fries.. lol. I will say I think the fries are very healthy because they have no seasoning or salt on them at all.. Unfortunately the kids meal was not enough food for my daughter to be full. (We had to go buy more food at a different place after.) Also I really would have liked if they had milk available for kids because my daughter tried the lemonade/other drinks but wasn't a fan of anything they had available. My family and I really liked the brussels sprouts they are very flavorful and interesting to taste. However I will say I think the sauce is a bit overpowering and I wish they hadn't drenched the brussels sprouts so much so that they were soggy instead of firm. I think if I were to get the brussels sprouts again, I would ask for the sauce on the side so I can have non-soggy brussels sprouts. lol. For the street corn I was a bit surprised that it is served cold. It was definitely different and it tasted pretty good! I wouldn't get it again sadly but it is definitely a nice new + interesting item to try at Starbird. We did enjoy our food but honestly for the price point? The amount of food you receive is sadly not a great value.. My one chicken sandwich + side + drink was over $20. The sandwich is about $12-$14 if you add avocado and it doesn't even come with a side. I find $12-$14 a little pricey for only a small chicken sandwich (it's VERY small...) I would've liked it better if the side was included like most casual places/restaurants do. One last thing that was problematic is.. Although the place was empty, there was a huge water puddle in the middle of the floor on one side of the restaurant. We were sad to see this because we wanted to sit in the booth section but it was next to the giant puddle and my elderly mom was scared to slip over there.. We made sure not to go over there for safety concerns. We ended up finding a booth in the very front, but it was very squished and uncomfortable to sit there. It would have been nice if the tables had been clean on the other side as well. The tables had food particles and food/drink residue from earlier customers that weren't wiped clean. Overall I am so glad that I got to try this place again, but sadly I don't think that we will be visiting again soon. Unless I come back specifically for the Chop salad because I loveeee the chop salad! lol. Also I do enjoy the various lemonade flavors here. #SaladRun? Maybe! I'm considering it. lol. The price point is a bit too high for the quantity of food that you receive. I got their avo cabo crunch salad with double grilled chicken and avocado- it was really good. It's a really big salad, I was pleasantly surprised at how much food was in this bowl. The ingredients all tasted fresh and complimented each other. The grilled chicken was juicy too. Oh and I also got extra dressing. The Avo Cabo Crunch is typically crispy chicken, a fresh romain/cabbage blend, grape tomatoes, pickled red onions, jicama, cotija, pepitas, cilantro, Tajín, avocado mash, and their avocado dressing. The dressing adds a lot of herb-yness to the salad which just adds to the healthy and refreshing taste. I also got some fries, their house star sauce for dipping, as well as some of their Greek yoghurt ranch. Their fries sort of remind me of five guys fries but not so floppy, and their ranch is delicious. The star sauce is like the chicken dipping sauce from places. Theirs is mixed in house and it's pretty good too. Theirs service was really fast and their restaurant seemed clean from the pictures I looked at before ordering. In the Bay Area we're blessed with quality chicken sandwich choices and this new Starbird location is the latest to join that club. I've dropped by this location twice now but know Starbird well including their earliest store in Sunnyvale. This new store predictably gets the chicken right. In my second visit I ordered the 6 pc nuggets prepared Hot Ranch style. The chicken was crispy, perfectly hot, and juicy inside. The sauce paired well with the chicken and overall quality at this new store was similar to other Starbird locations. I'm not a fan of the impersonal kiosk ordering especially at a new location. Navigating through the many menus, typing in my data, being dragged through additional screens for missing data (I missed chicken or veggie protein?) and then being asked for a tip was tedious and annoying. There was no personal interaction other than hearing my name called from a pick up window although whoever called me was long gone by the time I got there to find my order among the stack on the counter. I couldn't help comparing the experience negatively to the nearby and similar "Daves Hot Chicken" with its friendly/helpful staff. So great chicken (although they have stiff competition in this category now) dragged down by impersonal, cold, and clinical ordering experience and in-store ambiance. Clean place. Good food (for a fast food sorta place). There's a touch screen in store for ordering and they call your name when the food is ready. Took just about 5 or so minutes I think. The sweet thai tenders were good, as the sauce was more spread out. The fries were potato-y and yummy, the kale slaw tasty as well. Came to Starbird's soft opening with a friend and had such a fantastic experience. She's a big fan of Starbird and knew exactly what to order, which helped me tremendously. We ordered the classic tender box, big star sandwich, 8 wings with lemon pepper and sweet thai chili, house fries, and Thai chicken salad. They were out of the churros so we split an Its-it ice cream sandwich (my first time trying it). We also got blood lemonade and regular lemonade for our beverages. The chicken here isn't too greasy and the meat is very juicy which I love!! The Thai chicken salad was fantastic, I'd order this again. It was so filling and came with a great variety of veggies. The classic tenders were also solid, the seasonings on the chicken wings were delightfully savory. Service is excellent, the waiters are very attentive. I got the 4 tenders with the honey chipotle and truffle sauce an; parmesan truffle fries side. I was very pleased with meal. The chicken tenders were crispy yet soft inside, and both sauces made it taste different. The honey chipotle sauce was definitely the highlight. The parmesan truffle fries is large enough for two people and had a strong truffle flavor (with the sauce). My only issue was that the chicken was too salty for me ( this might not be the same for you). So excited to finally have a Starbird in my 'hood! We've been frequenting your Sunnyvale location for years, so we're happy to have one closer to home. Although we were sad to see The Counter go, we're thrilled that it was replaced by another yummy fast casual restaurant, conveniently located on Stevens Creek Blvd in Cupertino. This newly opened restaurant is bright and spacious, the service was friendly, helpful and fast, the food was delicious and freshly made, and the entire experience was top notch! We decided to be healthier today (hey, January isn't over so we're not giving up on those New Year's resolutions yet!), so my partner and I both ordered salads. He had the Chicken Chop Salad with grilled chicken, and I had the Bella Chop Salad with crunchy fried chicken. Both were very generous portions, with fresh ingredients, and the dressings were super tasty! We also enjoyed the freshly brewed "House crafted" beverages. Wish they still had the Green Goddess salad that was the best but got the new avo cado one that still has the Greek goddess dressing. There's a new opening promotion and we heard of this chain a lot. So why not? They appears to have only nuggets, wings, and sandwich, but not just chicken pieces. There are many sauce options to experiment too. The star-sauce was a honey-mustard variation, I think. Pretty good. The pieces are about twice bigger than standard chicken nuggets, most of them appeared to be white meat. Batter was on the thick side and meat a bit dry, but that's what the sauces are for. Wings were pro-tossed with your specified sauce. We found the "plain" one quite good as well. Salads are what they are good at. The veggies had variety in texture and flavors. Nuggets were cut into bite sizes. Again, there are several dressings to choose from. Sandwich was good. Churros were bad! Overall, we were happy and probably will do more in the future. read more

I order the chicken salad and it was good. I would suggest if you enjoy their salad dressing, then ask for an additional serving cup. For those who have nut or nightshade allergies, you need to be aware and have them taken out. This is a good place for lunch or take out. Service was excellent and my chicken salad was made with very little wait time. Ambiance is more in line with a fast food restaurant. Maybe, a bit better !? I love the ordering stations at Starbird. It's fun to tap through the interface and enter your order. The chicken here is always flavorful and crispy. For sauces, my absolute favorite is the truffle aioli. Though if you get the Lemon Garlic Tenders, it comes sauced up already and needs nothing extra. Every employee I saw here greeted me with a smile. Super friendly service. Asked if we ordered online and what our name was and couldn't locate the order for ten minutes. No biggie. Food came out hot. Two downfalls: no napkins or utensils in the bag and the chicken was so hot that the area it was placed on the salad began whilting. The restaurant was clean but the bathroom needed a bit of work. The floor was sticky and the handicap stall had no toilet paper! Regardless of the simple fix issues, we will patronize Starbird, but not this one. read more

Perched on Stevens Creek Cupertino this place is a hidden gem that should be getting looked at over other fast food chicken places like Popeyes and KFC. There was a lot of seating and space and great ambiance with music and clean seat. I loved that they had a large collection of soft drinks. The elote street corn was delicious with plenty of tajin, cheese, sweet corn, and cream. The Cali Gold BBQ Bacon burger was huge and tasty. They were stingy with the bacon but they made up with the portion of chicken. The burger was so good and all the flavors worked well together. The bun was soft and buttery and the chicken was tender and freshly fried. The burger was a must get for me. My favorite salads are the Starbird chop and Thai Chicken salad. They also have a large variety of different sauces and it's fun to try them all to dip the chicken in. This location is spacious and clean, with many kiosks to order from. The workers are friendly and helpful. I've been to this location a couple times already and never had a bad experience.
