Apparently! this location no longer sits after 830 pm on a Saturday. There were 5 empty tables and 1 couple sitting in the waiting area w/ a 2 hr wait, but we weren't guaranteed to be seated before they closed. So we left and went to the Angry crab on Cactus. This is the 3rd time this has happened to us on a Saturday night at or close to the time of 830pm. Third times a charm! Never coming back to this location again! We are vegetarian and we had some fake fish at home, we needed some good Southern sides to accompany it and Angry Crab did not disappoint! We called in an order for the Hush Puppies, Cajun Onion Rings, Corn Bread and Cole Slaw. Everything was delicious! The Hush Puppies had a spice to them I wasn't expecting but they were so good! Corn Bread, moist and yummy! I only wish I knew the Cole Slaw was in a tiny cup, I would of ordered more. Good old fashioned messy fun! The end of our cross country journey celebrated with a seafood feast at the Angry Crab. We had a dozen oysters on the half shell to start. Gumbo and cornbread was very tasty. Then came the muscles, king crab legs, crawfish, and veggies in the trifecta sauce- delicious! Spicy! So be careful if you are wimpy for spice like me :). I ordered level 1 and my mouth was on fire...still enjoyed every bite! Delicious. We joked about the bibs they provide...but seriously this is messy- sauce was flyin' even when I was being careful! Horrible service, Waitress was clearly frustrated from the minute she saw our large party, we came to celebrate a birthday & enjoy lunch. Sadly we didn't enjoy our lunch due to the lack of friendliness & frustration of not being attended on in a timely matter. I observed the patience & friendliness for the large table right across from us. I didn't understand why we couldn't have gotten the same attention. The food was good but the experience was awful. I have been on a shrimp boil kick lately and have been wanting to try Angry Crab for a long time. I got the lemon pepper easy peel shrimp with potatoes and corn. It was very good, but I was disappointed that they do not allow you to mix a couple of seafood items together in a 1 lb. bag. For example, I would have liked to have the bag with half shrimp and half crawfish. I have been to similar restaurants where this is no problem. However, the food was tasty and was ready very quickly so I cannot complain too much. I think this is a great choice for casual dining. read more

If you are expecting a nice quiet place to dine, this is not it; we were there and it was complete bedlam. Yelling, screaming kids, crying babies, loud music. Employees yelling and screaming for birthdays of diners, banging on pots or pans, listening to a siren wail and employees standing on chairs yelling or screaming out birthday wishes. I was sitting at a table and employees kept banging into me chair while I was eating. I am partially deaf and still my ears and head hurt being subjected to the noise. The slowest service I've experienced in a long long while. One hour from sit down to food arrival that's along time for fried or boiled food non fancy food served in plastic baskets. It took 10 minutes before we were even recognized after being seated. Overall not a very well run operation. I observed most tables had the dinners delivered piecemeal with some waiting long times to get their meals after others at their tables were served. In our case They brought out the fried cod almost 10 minutes before the grilled salmon stating it takes longer to grill the salmon(what the heck). Food was OK nothing special. Love this place! I'll start off by saying I have never eaten inside and always do pick up. Have done it many times and never received a wrong order. I like that they make sure to check prior to letting me leave too! Everyone has always been really nice. The food is always really delicious and fresh. My daughter and I were craving for seafood so we decided on a early dinner of shrimp, snowcrab, and all the fixings. We were looking forward to a delicious seafood feast. We ordered two pound of both shrimp and snow crab with trifecta 1. I started off with the shrimp that I added sausage and corn, sausage looked like it was old. Brown and mushy, too scared to eat it. Then I moved on to the snow crab which was very disappointed. The crab was sooo salty, to the point that I had to stop eating. I mentioned it to the waiter but he said its because of the sauce so I decided to just take it home for my husband. He tried it and said that it was way too salty. Never been to this place but have always wanted to try it. So took my daughter here for lunch today and I gotta say it was a pretty good first experience. Our waiter, James, was very helpful and attentive. We ended up getting the calamari and clam chowder soup for appetizers, which was very good! Ended up getting a sample of the #3 hot (can't feel my lips) spice and adding it to the soup and let me tell you.....that was delicious!!! The can't feel my lips is true to its word. If you like spicy things that would be a good choice for you. I absolutely loved the flavor but I added the trifecta to it and it was good flavor. My daughter on the other hand was overwhelmed with it but still loved it, she just drank more in between. Also added it to the calamari dipping sauce to spice things up a bit. We also got the shrimp and snow crab legs which were also pretty good. Definitely a good experience for me and I would return. Very satisfied! i'm genuinely so surprised by all the terrible reviews. We thought our food was so good. We got dungenous crab boils with medium trifecta seasoning. Seasoning was delicious and it was an good amount of crab. I will say our drinks could've been more attended too as we sat with empty drinks for a while without refills but our server was really friendly. One of our group got the lobster rolls which was okay but I'd definitely stick to the boils when you come here. It would be a 5 star review except that they couldn't find the shell crushers (i don't know what they are called lol). It's a seafood place without a way to open the crab legs. This is probably my favorite location. I've been here once and maybe 3-4 times at the Peoria location. When we arrived it was packed. But we didn't care. We went to the bar to wait, then ended up staying there because the service was amazing. We were next to the POS system so many servers would turn around and talk to us. There was one waitress that was talkative and friendly but made us feel awkward with the way she would look at us. Not a big deal but just random. Lol. FYI, their Bloody Mary's are beyond amazing! Every trip here is delicious and amazing but today our server Tommy as well as the trainee Mari were both so wonderful! My fiancé and I had the greatest experience with the food but most of all the service. An appetizer of ours was taking awhile (we weren't concerned with the timing of it at all they were so wonderful) and even took care of it for us for the long wait time. The formica topped tables are covered with white butcher paper, people eat with their hands, and writing on the walls is not only allowed, it's encouraged. Angry Crab Shack is top notch and serves some of the best seafood Arizona has to offer. Sure, one could argue that Coastal towns may have better seafood, but Angry Crab Shack can definitely hold their own. On my first visit, our server explained everything to us and gave suggestions based on our preferences.  Your entree comes out as it's ready instead of all together. Angry Crab Shack has a team restaurant philosophy, food is delivered by the first person closest to the kitchen when the food is ready.  Initially, there was some confusion among the servers. Our table was delivered a basket of cornbread,  which I thought was complimentary, however,  it was for the table behind us (found that out after eating the basket) and for the record the corn bread was delicious. I enjoyed ordering off Angry Crab's Menu. You pick your main course, which is sold by the pound. Then you pick your sauce, next you choose how spicy you want your entrée . The boil bag is brought to your table and everything is finger food. That's right, no utensils. You even get a rock to bash your crustaceans.  Thankfully a plastic bib is given and be sure to wear your bib, because you will need it. The prices are reasonable and food is very good. Was looking for a good time to give this place a try and lunch with the old man was it. We stopped in for lunch and had a very good experience. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. My father had the catfish with fries and I had the cod po' boy with fries. Both entrees tasted as one would expect. The entrees were good and the prices at $8 and $9 were very favorable. The side of fries were some of the best fries I have enjoyed with wonderful seasoning. We also ordered a side of hush puppies and they were tasty. For dessert, we tried the red velvet cheesecake, which was awesome. A visit in the future will be in order. It's really sad when you go through the 15 minute process of checking out a new restaurant online, setting up your order through a delivery service, being very specific that you want to be contacted if any part of the order can't be completed, but when the restaurant gets the order they just cancel it without even giving you a courtesy call. Totally unprofessional. I have no patience for a restaurant that apparently doesn't need my business. They probably don't need yours either. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I don't know why they cancelled the order. But then again, that's what happens when they can't follow simple instructions and call a customer who was more than happy to spend $100 at their place. How awesome is it, that this small chain of seafood (bayou inspired) restaurants is Arizona based? It's made even more awesome by the fact that they support local brewers and the Arizona Distilling Company! More on those facts later... Once again, my girlfriend made a suggestion I couldn't refuse. We decided to grab lunch at the newest Angry Crab location in Goodyear. I've heard others talking favorably about this chain and I'm always down for sea food! Sitting at the bar is one of our favorite things to do because the service tends to be a little better. Tracey took good care of us, was extremely friendly and made some great suggestions, including desert. A couple draft beers (a Kilt Lifter and a Purple Haze) paired very well with our entrees. We chose a pound of mussels and a pound of snow crab with their Tri-Fecta sauce and medium heat. Wow! They don't mess around with the spices! Love the garlic! Throw in some potatoes and sausage and prepare to get a little messy! Some people may be turned off by the idea of being served in a bag and having to work for your food. But if you're dining with the right person, and you know how to break down a lobster, it can be more fun than you realize. There's an intangible about dining like this because you're focused on the task, you're chatting, and you're constantly sharing the treasure you pried from the shell with your company. This was a fun meal! The beer selection is more diverse than the average restaurant. While I would appreciate more local beers, I was happy my favorite from Four Peaks was present. And how about those spirits? They feature a vodka, a gin and a bourbon, all made in Tempe. I'm intrigued and will be looking for the Commerce Gin at my favorite beverage store.
