Had a great time. Bought a pound of King and a pound of shrimp. Both were great, seasoned perfectly. Not too much but enough to enhance the crab. Spice levels go from 1-6 and I got 2. Was exactly what I wanted, spice was there but I didn't end up dying. Sat at the bar (which they let you full on eat crab at, which is awesome). Had a hurricane, a draft beer, and a Heineken. Hurricane was nice. Not a big hurricane guy, but wanted to try one. Definitely tasty. Beer was part of a deal where with a pound of crab, you get the beer for 3$. Don't know if that applies to more food, ie you get two pounds of crab, you get two beers for 3$? If someone can answer this that would be awesome, though I'll probably ask next time I go in. We went today for lunch and we were all crammed into a 5x5 area with other people while we were waiting to get temperature checks. There were also people crammed in there waiting for take out. First off I want to compliment Blake for being such an awesome server! He was extremely patient and suggested many good options. This was our first time ever eating at Angry Crab Shack and I'm definitely impressed. I took a bite of my boyfriend's oyster poboy and it was good, not like New Orleans ofc, but pretty darn close. Their lobster roll was delicious, I almost didn't want to share my other half. Moving away from New Orleans I have missed the seafood gumbo dearly. I was pretty shocked when I took my first bite of gumbo here. It was better than a lot of restaurants in New Orleans. I would've finished it if there weren't so much food. We did order fried calamari and crawfish. I wasn't a big fan of neither. Maybe it was because we gobbled too much fried stuff. The crawfish definitely has heat but no flavor. I suggest increasing a bit of salt, actually a lot of salt if you're trying to imitate Louisiana's flavor. read more

This is the only location I'll go to. Never once had received any time of ill-mannered service. It's more cleaner and livelier than the other locations. Not to mention the only one that serves Mango lemonade, which is a must have. Reccomend this place if you're wanting good shrimp. read more

January 5, 2021 January 5th is my birthday and I decided to celebrate and your establishment on 2808 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016. This was my 46th birthday and unfortunately this was the worst dining experience that I have EVER had in my life. There were 12 of us total. My miserable experience began with the waiter. He never introduced himself so I don't know his name but it was obvious that he did not want to be there. I am referring to his attitude alone. I don't know what his problem was but there was no courteousness, no smile just a general "I'm not happy to be here what are you ordering? Make it fast" type of attitude. I was interested in the new boil for 2 special. This is an $85 meal. My fiancé and I were going to split it but she wanted garlic butter and I wanted the trifecta sauce. I asked if it was possible to have 2 sauces. His response was "no, it's a special that's ready to go so they cant do it any other way" again no smile, and very nasty. My fiancé decided to order a single order for herself and I asked the waiter to assist me in putting together half of the special in price by pound section. He stated, again with a nasty attitude "no, you cant do that". I said "I just want the same things that are in the special but I want to build my own meal". His response is "you cant have that, you can only have what you see there, I am going to wait on another table and will come back when you are ready". He then proceeded to take the final orders at our table. At this point I can clearly see that this waiter has an issue. One of my other guests decided that she would be ok with splitting the boil for 2 with the trifecta sauce so we decided to go with that. I asked if there was any way that we can split it in two. He stated with his same nasty attitude "no its in one bag and there is nothing you can do about it. That's just how it comes". Now at this point I am not happy but everyone is hungry and already ordered so we just waited and ordered drinks. He did mess up a couple of drinks but he quickly fixed that. When one of my other guests asked about their appetizer he responded nastily again "it will come out with your order" even though some appetizers had already been served. So his attitude was not directed at me alone. He just has a nasty attitude in general. He then starts to bring out the food. Here is where things really went bad because I am fed up at this point. 3 of our party had gone to the restroom, 1 of them being the same person that was splitting the boil for 2 with me. He only brought out a few bags at a time and one of those bags happened to be that boil for 2. He looked at the bag and passed it across the table. I asked him if that was the boil for 2 that I had ordered. He stated "no that's something different you ordered something else". He then walked away. My guests are looking at the bag and stating that they think that it is mine. I say that I asked him directly so I will just wait until he gets back and ask him to clarify. He comes out with a few more bags and I say to him "man, I need you to slow down a little to clarify something for me". He just ignores me and continues to try to serve the other guests. I say again a little louder "MY MAN, I need you to slow down and clarify if this is my meal that you have sat across the table from me and told me it's not mine" he states "I know which one is yours" then he attempts to ignore me again. I then stood up and stated "I need you to stop what you are doing and clarify this for me". As he continued to try to ignore me I then stated "I need you to stop everything, I don't know what your problem is but we need someone over here that actually wants to serve this table. As a matter of fact, get me the manager". He states "just wait". I say loudly "no get me the manager NOW!" He then angrily snarls back and tried to finish handing out the food but I stated "no, you are done here, GET THE MANAGER!" He then angrily walks away snatches off his gloves throwing them on one of the empty tables as the manager approaches. This manager comes and instead of deescalating the situation she proceeds to attach me. She angrily approaches me stating "what going on? You need to stop. You are disturbing other customers". At this point now I am boiling over. My entire night is ruined. I am trying to explain to her what was going on she would only keep saying "STOP, STOP, You need to calm down or leave". She stated this several times along with her concern for every guest except me. I say "I am calm, I am trying to tell you what is happening'. I guess that she didn't like my tone so she refused to listen and would only threaten to put me out. Now, this is my birthday and 11 other people came out to celebrate with me and the food was finally arriving. Therefore, even though my night was ruined I didn't want to just leave and spoil things for everyone else so I sat down. She would not acknowledge me but she did begin to listen to everyone read more

It was my first time at the Angry Crab, and Danikka did such a great job of explaining the menu and the unique presentation​. She also helped us out with recommendations. Came in for lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty. It was our first time here and our server was very friendly and attentive. We started with the hush puppies which were delicious. The margaritas are good too. These two things were the only good part of the meal. We got a Caesar salad with Salmon & the grilled shrimp lunch bowl. We asked for the salmon to be cooked a little more and the kitchen said no twice because "cross contamination"... which makes no sense. I've worked in multiple restaurants(much higher scale) and I have never heard something like that before. If you want to bring up the temperature of meat, simply put it back onto the grill or pan. We hadn't even started to eat it, it just hit the table but somehow cooking it more would result in cross contamination? They eventually took it and cooked it up anyways, so not sure why they said no twice. The kitchen staff are not well educated about the proper way to cook apparently. The shrimp bowl with linguine was literally the most bland thing I have eaten in a restaurant, ever. No flavor whatsoever. I had two bites and didn't want to send it back considering our issues with the salmon. He was very thorough with our order which was great because we had children with us and the orders can get confusing. Eddie was on top of it throughout our meal. Less than mediocre. The two stars were because I got to satisfy my craving. I'm not sure who tastes the sauce before they bring it out but they Cajun wasn't so Cajun. A very basic lackluster sauce that was very oily. I asked for a level 4 in heat and it was beyond mild, what a disappointment. At $53, I really wish I could get my money back. This Norterra location was *much* better than the Mesa location we tried previously. Very clean inside and outside. No flies bothering us. Our waiter, Blake, did an excellent job. Very helpful, always available, but not intrusive. We had King crab, crawfish, and lobster. All were good. The lobster wasn't as good as the King crab I had previously, so it'll probably be tha last time I order that. The ambient noise level was fairly low, but it was before dinner rush, so there weren't too many other customers. Definitely recommend. read more

Well I have a new low. Grandson and I decided to have fish & chips. This came up & fairly close. Walked in & were told 20 minute wait but can set bar. OK sounds good. Not. Waited for drinks. Waited to order. Waited 20 minutes for food. Well fish was 3 pieces of uniformly shaped fish (I think) no taste except batter. 1 piece of fish was probably not thawed as was raw batter taste. Not in a good way. Moving on to my sides. Rice & beans were cold & not good. Waiterss noticed I was not eating them and asked if I wanted something else. No, not waiting another 20 minutes. Been here a few times. Food is pretty darn good and the staff is too. I've come here a few times over other places just because of the friendly staff. Our latest venture was this past Sunday. Got some gator bites. Haven't had those since growing up in Miami and going to the Everglades where they had fresh gator courtesy of the the Miccosukee Indians. Well this wasn't quite as good as super duper fresh, but was good all the same. Definitely reminded me of years ago. The seasoned fries and special sauce on the side compliment these gator bites. The family and I sat outside on the new patio, I had an nice IPA beer, and our server Morgan was fantastic. You can tel he was a veteran server, knew his stuff, a little stoic, but managed to get him to crack a smile. All together? Great experience. Will be back for the food and the experience. read more

First time. Restaurant is too loud for my taste. Getting our food ordered took way too long. When we did get it , our two orders came 10 minutes apart. Food was good however. I may be back, but I have enough background noise in my life, so I prefer to be able to hear my spouse speak to me without a megaphone when we are on a date night, which appears to rule out The Angry Crab. read more
