Wow! This place is worth going to. I didn't order the famous hot dog but I ordered a vegetarian sandwich that was delicious. It had mushroom, Mozzarella cheese, and got spinach instead of sprouts. Went in for a quick bite to eat and I must say, we were pleasantly surprised. Ordered the hamburger because that appeared to be the most popular item everyone was eating and it was pretty delicious. We hit up Angry Dog before the Coldplay concert for dinner last night. I had the burger with cheddar and it was awesome. Definitely one of the best burgers in Dallas. I was visiting a friend in the area and we couldnt decide on where to eat. He said he knew of this place to get some awsome food. I looked at the menu and couldnt decide what i wanted to eat, everything sounded so good. My waiter told me since i wasnt sure what i wanted that i was getting the hamburger. We had 3 in our group for Saturday lunch. Was able to sit down with no wait and had good service. Plenty of drink refills and attentive server. Two of us had the burger and was expecting the best burger based on reviews and awards. Was disappointed in that as it wasn't the best, but just good. One of the group had the Angry Dog with jalapeños and thought the same, it was good not great. I would go back and try something else and see what else they offered for make this a great stop. Atmosphere and people were great, so that helps. Parking is terrible and plenty of construction in the area which means contractors taking up parking. So, I've been to Angry Dog twice and each time was disappointing. The first time, I tried the burger. I'm not sure if mine was the exception, but there was nothing special about it and would definitely never order it again...I've had much better in Dallas. The second time, I had the famous hotdog. I am not a fan of hotdogs but I wanted to give it a try. I must say, it was pretty good although, not great. If I ever crave a hotdog, I might go back to Angry dog and get one. As for the service, this place gets a one star. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super rude and kind of made me feel uncomfortable. This place is tight they jammed far more tables in there than probably should be. We had a simple meal, I had the nachos and my date a salad, both were put together poorly. Typical bar which is great. Bartender was very attentive and even though he recommended the burger we ordered a grilled chicken salad and fried chicken strips. The salad was fine but the strips were jacked up. 2 were very dry but ok, but 1 looked like it was pulled from the trash because it was re-fried at least once. We live on Main at the Mercantile & decided to check out Angry Dog because friends have mentioned it. It was really busy on a Friday night, but we found a seat at the bar & had awesome service. We tried the burger and angry dog w/ fries & Caesar salad. The Caesar was ok, but everything else was amazing. We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. Tonight was my first time here, came across this place looking for wings thanks to many good reviews. However, i was greatly disappointed when a plate of soggy, overly sauced wings came to the table. It lacked flavor,which they tried to disguise with buffalo sauce. Also tried the nachos with a combination of meats, which were ok. Their burger is way better than Twisted Roots, and I am very sorry Diners Drive-ins and dives did not visit Angry Dog. This burger is on par with Port of Call in New Orleans and really rocks. If you like burgers this would be the first spot to hit on the list. They have great beers also. read more

Fun, casual place to go in Deep Ellum. It was really crowded so it was a little confusing that it was seat yourself. Service was a little slow because of the crowd but we didn't mind since we weren't in a hurry. The food was great and the atmosphere was a lot of fun too. Went based on Dallas Morning News "Best Burger" award. The atmosphere was great for the Deep Ellum area, the service was excellent, but the food was well below what we expected. We seated ourselves per the sign, servers came right over and took our drink order and gave us menus, answered our questions perfectly. We had the quacamole and chips to start. The quac was very fresh, as was the salsa, the chips were also good although there were several that were soft. We ordered an 2 Angry Dogs, all the way, a Burger all the way, and had sides of fries and pasta salad. The hot dog was great, but the chili was very bland. Ordered the burger med well and it was charcoaled, very dry and flavorless. The pasta salad was bland, the fries were good. Definitely not the best burger in Dallas. I was reading the UYE reviews and wanted to mention that Angry Dog has an off night now and then, but when they are on..they can't be matched for the best burger in town. If I read correctly, the UYE ate there on a Wednesday night which is not exactly peak hours for a place like this, especially with the current state of the deep ellum neighborhood. I would suggest you try more for a weekend time slot when the grill is good and hot and they are cranking out the goodness with the freshest ingredients! Wed is never a prime night to review a restaurant, no matter the location. Twisted Root as mentioned is fantastic, as is Adair's, but the differences between these burger joints are quite vast. Angry Dog has deservedly earned their reputation as "Best Burger in Dallas" so you should definitely give em a chance. Locals all know how good they are, and that is why we still eat there regularly. read more
