This restaurant is a fun place to go with friends and make your own spring rolls at the table. The portions were pretty large and every table gets a giant plate of vegetables and plenty of rice paper for the rolls. The meats had really good flavor. My favorites were the shrimp (had a nice charred/grilled flavor), along with the pork sausage (sweet and tender). However my friends and I agreed that the food was rather oily so it didn't make us feel great after eating. It can get crowded inside as well. Service was very slow and it took us a long time to get seated and also get our food. Given the slow service and very oily meats, I probably would not come back. However, I really like the concept of this restaurant, so if you are looking for a DIY spring roll spot this is the place to go!

Went for a weekend dinner and had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated. It was busy and the space is on the smaller side. Service was friendly. They are dinner only so plan accordingly! I love Vietnamese spring rolls, so I was really excited to try this spot. We ordered a variety of dishes, and they also came with veggies and rice paper. - cha gio anh hong: 8 egg rolls with shrimp, pork, and vermicelli. Crispy and great to wrap with veggies and rice paper. - bo nuong la lot: grilled beef wrapped in betel leaf. The beef had a nice texture, but the leaf was not my favorite, though others in our group enjoyed it. - nem nuong: grilled pork that was delicious and classic. - banh xeo: my favorite dish. It was quite large and filled with shrimp and pork. Despite the generous filling, the crepe stayed perfectly crispy with a subtle coconut flavor. This is a great spot for a casual dinner or small celebration. We did not order drinks, but they also serve beer and wine on the menu. I recommend calling ahead for a reservation if possible.

It has been a MINUTE since I've been back at Anh Hong, but as always, it did not disappoint! We used to go back in the day when they were still in the TL doing the seven courses of beef. They don't do that anymore, but they still have the same stuff you just have to order à la carte. The restaurant isn't huge, but they're definitely giving more upscale vibes, and I highly recommended making a reservation because they definitely get busy. You end up with a lot of food on the table so it's nice that the tables are huge! We ordered a bunch of things, including their beef carpaccio, beef wrap, grilled pork, and imperial roll dishes, but I think what stood out the most were the prawns! A little on the pricier side, but definitely tasty.

Ambiance: We got here right as they opened and are we glad we did. There's a maybe 10 small tables and 2 large tables, but they had several large party reservations, so it's good to make reservations if you can. It wasn't super loud in there, the lighting is bright. My only complaint is the bathroom is very slick. Be careful when going in there. Service: We got seated pretty quickly, they took our order quickly without feeling rushed. We had a few questions about some pictures we saw online that looked good. Our waitress was very friendly and the food came out really quickly. The only issue is that a two top table is far too small for the amount of plates needed. Everything came out in different courses, so it manageable. They were also good about refilling water - something I love about a restaurant. (I get very thirsty.) Food: Every table has a basket of rice paper and a small plate on top of a big plate. They also bring out a big plate of veggies after you order and a bowl of warm water to make your rolls. They also place 3 different sauces on the table, a fish, a chili, and I think the last one is a shrimp paste sauce (but the super obnoxious guy on the table next to us kept screaming it was an anchovy sauce). It really reminded me of the shrimp sauce, but I didn't ask, so I'm really not sure. Either way, I put about 1 part fish sauce, ¼ chili, and maybe shrimp?? paste. So good. Beef carpaccio - flavorful and light. I love the fresh, crisp texture of the veggies they added, the vinegary slivers of daikon and carrots, topped with peanuts. The beef was so thinly sliced, it absorbed the flavors of the sauce. River prawns - big, juicy prawns packed with so much flavor. Not overly salty, crunchy, and the heads were also delicious. My friend and I ate the whole thing, shell and all. The underlying sauce was also thick and perfect for dipping the shrimp and the noodle squares. We're probably going to go back this week for this dish. We had it a few hours ago and we're still thinking about it and texting each other about it. It's really very good. Lastly, we got the nem nuong (we were going to get the rack of lamb, but I said we should get something we don't normally get). These pork sausages were so juicy and it came with a fried, rolled wonton wrapper?? (I don't know what it's made of!) We wrapped these in the rice paper with all the side veggies and I wrapped the whole rice paper with the lettuce. I was not very good at wrapping these and definitely need more practice. My friend and I want to go back and make this a regular spot. It's really very tasty and we wanna try everything on the menu! (Sans obnoxious dude next to us.)

Amaaaazing Viet place, we went Saturday around 8:15 and it was packed! Waited ~30 min for a table and the owner was so kind, he gave us cocktails on the house We got two different meats for the spring roll fillings and both were delicious! Also comes with pickled veggies, cucumbers and variety of lettuce / mint / herbs to stuff your spring rolls with we also got the Beef Porridge and Banh Xeo - portions are large!

    Adel W.

Wow this is my new favorite Viet spot in SF (not for pho)!!! I had an amazing experience at Anh Hong, from making our own spring rolls to the owner giving us free cocktails. The meats were all delicious and they really don't skimp on portion sizes! I love how generous they are with the fillings and sides. The Banh Xeo was HUGE! Definitely coming back with a bigger group next time!

    Chloe S.

One of my favorite spots! Their bahn xeo is perfection, crispy, light and packed with sprouts pork and shrimps. The staff is amazing they refill your water jug and offer fresh plates of veggies. Our favorites have to be the sweet pork with the crispy topping. The beef carpaccio is also a hit, silky and tender beef! We love this spot for a light but filling meal. Fill your rice wraps with veggies and you won't feel so heavy after your meal!

$39 - Half Rack of Lamb (much much smaller than the photo on the menu) =[

Le sigh. It pains me to do this but unfortunately I had to lower the rating oh Anh Hong due to a recent visit. The portion sizes were abysmal when looking at the cost of each dishes. Service was extremely slow, not unfriendly, just slow... Frequently forgets what we asked for. And what is up with the stinginess of safeguarding the napkins? You would think for a restaurant that makes its patron use their hand to wrap their own food would give you more than a tiny piece of paper napkin.

Honestly one of my favorite restaurants and hidden gems in the city! Make your own spring rolls is the concept of this place. You pick and choose the meats you want and they provide you with the rest! A must get is the Grilled Beef wrapped in Banana Leaf, I've never had meat so juicy and flavorful before. Great family restaurant if you want an authentic and healthy Vietnamese meal.

    Everything on the menu?!

Amazing food, service, and vibes!!! I've come here with a group of 4 and a group of 9, and I had a fantastic experience each time. The food is the 100% the best Vietnamese food in the city... dare I say better than Gao Viet?!?! I've tried nearly everything on their menu! From the squab to the different spring rolls you roll yourself, and the shrimp omelette/pancake to the raw beef salad, and the wonton soup to the beef porridge, and the giant prawns to the secret off menu garlic crab, the meats are tender, the veggies are fresh & crisp, and the flavors are amazing. I love that you can roll and customize your own spring rolls, it's so fun! You can order any filling - grilled pork, nem, fishcake with sugarcane, lamb, beef, gigantic prawns. I also really love the crispy rice topped with a fried egg. They have a great list of drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. They also partner with their next door neighbors to provide specialty cocktails and mocktails. The service is fast and friendly - Harry is the best!! They are super attentive to your needs and take care of everything... it really feels like eating with your aunties and uncles who want to keep feeding you more and more food The restaurant is beautiful and nicely spaced out for small and large groups. Did you know that Anh Hong means the pink part of the sunset? All in all, this place is an 11/10 and I'm definitely coming back here by myself, with my partner, AND with a big group of friends! There is way more to Vietnamese food than pho... and this is the best spot to get it

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Portion to Price: 2/5 Overall: We did a family style dinner and the food was very tasty. The extended review... Food: 4/5 - We got a lot of different things to share including the beef carpaccio, shrimp rolls, lamb chops, and grilled pork. All of the dishes were very tasty. Service: 4/5 - Friendly and attentive service. Ambiance: 4/5 - A very nice interior. Portion to Price: 2/5 - A little bit on the pricier side.

Our group of 6 came for dinner to celebrate a birthday - I called earlier in the week to put in a reservation for 8pm. We found street parking around the block, and checked in with the workers at 8pm; we didn't end up getting seated until around 8:30pm though - I think there was a party that was taking longer than expected before us. I've been wanting to come to Anh Hong for a while now, because as much as I love spring roll night at home, there are only so many fillings you can prepare yourself at home. We started with the beef carpaccio, which wasn't anything too notable, but a nice light appetizer to start, and then ordered 4 different proteins - the nem nuong (which came with rice netting and crispy rolled rice paper), bo nuong la lot (the wrapped beef sausage), the tom nuong banh hoi (grilled shrimps with rice noodle squares), and the cha gio saigon (egg rolls with rice noodle squares) - everything was delicious, but we all loved the grilled shrimp, and I was really surprised by how tender the wrapped beef was! THe amount of veggies, herbs, and rice paper were VERY generous, and definitely enough for everyone to make as many spring rolls as they'd like! It was also super affordable, I think less than $30 a person, and we were stuffed by the end. I'll definitely be back for a delicious spring roll night with fresh veggies and herbs, with excellently prepared proteins :)

Came here on a weekday night and was seated immediately. I liked the dimmer light aesthetics of the place, which included many cork decorations and vibrant paintings on the wall. I wanted to try their Nem Nuong, but the table next to me ordered the last few. When they handed us our waters, my water cup was dirty and had black specks, and so I had to ask for a new one. We ordered their Bo Nuong La Lot and Thit Banh Hoi. Both dishes were delicious and flavorful! The Bo Nuong La Lot, or grilled beef wrapped in leaves had a nice smoky aroma and went well with a dipping sauce. The banh hoi was fresh, and I loved the experience of being able to make my own spring rolls with the ingredients. They also provided us with a fresh plate of vegetables on the side.

Quality/Quantity - We had a large group, thank you for accommodating. I believe we made reservations, where we would not be seated until everyone showed up. Good thing the group all showed up on time (for once, lol). Ordered the following for our table, our other table had our larger half of the group. But due to the door mishap, I did not want to walk over to take pictures of their food/order. Okonomiyaki Fries - Was too soggy for me, but everyone else on our table enjoyed it. Popcorn Salmon - I did not enjoy this, but everyone else on both tables loved it, so it was "a me problem." Boneless Fried Chicken - I enjoyed it, but no one else did?!?! I guess I have very different tastes from this group...? Tonkatsu Ramen - Good. But very basic. Beef Short Rib Plate - Three orders, both people enjoyed it. Actually, our young eater ate 1.5 of this plate, 1/2 from his mom's order. This order also came with a side salad and steamed rice. Bulgogi Plate - I can't remember if I got my rice?!?! Well, the beef was of decent quantity, I actually brought a little back home for leftovers, with the boneless fried chicken. At home, it was a little too salty, too much soy sauce. Sizzling Bibimbap - My daughter's dish which was also good. I believe she had leftovers. Our other table got the regular bibimbap, they said next time they will try the sizzling as they felt that was better. Lastly, our guest on the other table ordered one of each dessert for both tables. Mango Panna Cotta & Chocolate Tartufo - I am not a chocolate person, but enjoyed the Tartufo better. Our guest wanted Soju! The first time, so we ended up ordering two hot larges. Smooth and went down too easily. I then finished my meal with a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Boy I miss this beer, I have not had in a while. Too busy supporting local breweries. Overall, the food was just okay for me and my daughter. Ambiance - Outside looks good, and new. Love the menus and the happy hour information. Might come back for HH. Small local restaurant. A few tables and bar seating. Clean restrooms, two unisex. Street metered parking, free after 6pm. Plenty of street parking. Service - Okay, the front door has issues... It stays open, then does NOT close. It is slanted, so you have to "force" it to close. When we ALL got here, I guess we left the front door open by accident. Well, the waitress did NOT appreciate that (I stayed outside taking my Yelp pictures while everyone else walked in). She gave me a LOOK... While I was still outside, more people came in and I tried to close the door for them and because the door is slanted, it did not close and had to be "forced" resulting in a slam, sorry. Got another look... After that, I went straight to my seat. Menus on the table. Price - Expensive, or did we order too much? I think our bill with tax and tip came out to almost $800. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2017; look forward to trying your happy hour.

Everything -- from food to service, to ambience -- was EXCELLENT through and through. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a wait staff immediately. We were seated at a bar height table as requested. And throughout the evening, the wait staff was helpful, courteous and attentive. They did not miss a beat in offering us water refill, checking on us, or changing our plates. Excellent service!! Between the three of us, we offered a variety of appetizer and dishes; what stands out is the quality of their ingredients, and the sophistication and perfection in their usage of spices, creating excellent and balanced flavors. * Spring Roll wrap - A must order dish. Perfectly fried spring roll with lettuce wrap and spiced dipping sauce. Excellent! * Clay Pot rice - I really like the clay pot rice here. They use Chinese sausage and the flavorful pork neck meat, over fragrant jasmine rice.. it was cooked for perfection and packed with flavors. Note, their clay pot rice does not come with crispy rice bottom, but just ask if you want it. ;) * Beef Tartare- excellent flavor and soft fresh beef tartare... so good! * Blue Shrimp Ceviche - another dish that highlights their culinary expertise. Sashimi- grade blue shrimp in their special sauce.. well balanced flavor and just perfect! * A highlight was definitely their sake and cocktail list... they have plenty of good drinks here. My default is their Lychee Drink and the blue bottle sake. Always a good choice and Le Soleil offers the perfect setting for great friends to gather and have a few drinks! A very happy evening dining at Le Soleil. We will be back very soon!!!

Water pitchers was refilled throughout. It did take a while for staff to pick up empty plate once we were finished with dishes since they dropped orders so quickly into service, but not a huge deal. Overall a nice spot for a modern twist on Vietnam cuisine, the chicken and beef were the stand out dishes for us, so give those a try if you decide to visit. Yellow curry w/ chicken - fairly standard yet delicious. I do have to praise the staff for being thoughtful. I forgot to ask for mild when I placed the order. I was so worried that the curry will be too spicy for our table. But apparently the staff made the adjustment for us when they saw us coming with two young kids. Kudos for that! Pad see ew with beef - it's on the sweeter side. We got generous portion of beef in this economy! :) I think this place is a pretty good value. We left with a happy and full belly. It may not be the perfect spot for large parties but it's definitely the perfect spot for those who are in the area craving for authentic Thai/Laotian cuisine!

Top favorites were the grilled pork shoulder (great smokey flavor) and the laarb. They even have pulled teas which I know only a few other places in the city that still make it this way. Prices, especially these days, were really reasonable. They also have combo prices (eg. app, hot pot, and entree) as well as lunch combos and a happy hour menu. I went and tried their breakfast/cafe menu (Muan) as well. The pulled tea and roti with coconut pandan sauce were both solid options - I'll need to go back to try the kai khata next time (looks like a steak and eggs/bo ne plate)! I believe it's family owned, and both times I've been the staff were incredibly kind and patience in explaining items and prep time to us. I believe on weekdays they close at 9:30pm, and weekends 10:30pm - which for the Sunset is a pretty good "late night" option since most other restaurants in the area close earlier. And again, prices were very reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back again to support this neighborhood spot!

They're located at the same address of 1316 Noriega but Muan appears to be more snacks type of foods and drinks. Mama Mu's interior is cozy and clean. I did get a little hot inside eating their food. Now for the menu -- they have different menus depending on the time you go (lunch specials, happy hour) and I was a little confused from the old set menus that are still posted, even though they're no longer available. Once we finally got everything figured out, we decided to try the set menu $30: 1 appetizer: chicken wings 1 hot pot soup: tom kha 1 main dish: curry of the day From happy hour menu: Yen ta foh flat rice noodle with white fish -- this was incredibly bland. Our overall complaint is that there just wasn't a lot of meat in any of the dishes. Curry of the day had slivers of chicken. Tom Kha hot pot had chunks of bland pork slices. Thank god the wings saved the meal. Now the real issue is we felt like we got catfished when we ordered the Golden Emperor dish -- check out my photo and you'll understand. My daughter says they used AI to create this ad for the dish, which now clearly makes sense on how we were misled. We paid $80 for the total bill and we were still hungry and unsatisfied. I understand it's hard to make a profit and attract customers but false advertisement leaves a worse impression. We probably got 3oz of meat in each dish and I just didn't expect this based on the other reviews and ads

Oakland I was sold on but I hadn't found a spot in San Francisco that I could definitively say was phenomenal (Admittedly, I still need to check out the spots in the Tenderloin) That was until I found this place. I can confidently say that Yummy Yummy has the best pho I've found in San Francisco to date. I found this place by coincidence after moving to the inner sunset. The Inner Sunset is a hub for great Vietnamese food but Yummy Yummy was a name that was thrown around in the conversation as one of the better places to get pho. And it does not dissapoint. Since finding it, my girlfriend and I have been here numerous times and it has been awesome every time. I've so far tried several noodle soup dishes (Pho, Bun Bo hue, peanut noodles soup, mi hoahn thahn) and everything has been great. Their appetizers and non soup based food are also excellent. They also have an extensive vegetarian menu which many places do not. On top of the quality food, service here is exceptional and friendly. So glad I can finally say I have a favorite pho spot in SF. In my book, this is definitely a must visit if you are in the area.

I know from past experience that the crab dishes are great. I don't know why they were shut down for a while a few years back, but I'm glad they're back. Servers were friendly and helpful. Place was packed on a Sunday night.

Well, I decided to look for something different than my usual favorite food and I decided to go to try some Cambodian food and I picked this lovely little spot in Ocean Avenue, so far away from my house. It was my lucky day, the food was delicious, fresh and made from scratch with a glass of great white wine and , SO IMPORTANT to me a lovely service, starting with a warm welcome smile from the owner and then with the outstanding kind service at my table from the young gentleman named (I think) Ethan. Now this little gem became one of my destinations. Great job beautiful people at Megan's Table!

Today's dinner had a few dishes that were standout and a few that tasted good but had a bit too many ideas going on. Fried shrimp and sweet potato appetizer - this was my favorite dish tonight, the shrimp shells were fried crispy, and I've never seen it paired with sweet potato, but I love a fried sweet potato. Filet mignon and divers scallops - this dish had way too many ideas going on, I think if it was pared down it would be more cohesive. However this was my mom's favorite. The dish had lap cheung (Chinese sausage) which I thought was a tomato at first, pate, a unique-looking fried egg that was yolk, then white, then yellow on top of rice, scallops, onions, Laughing Cow cheese, served with a thick slice of milk bread. The scallops were huge and tasty, but felt out of place and were overpowered if you ate it with the pate. Without it, the rest of the dish would have made more sense to me as a take on a "steak and eggs" breakfast. The braised oxtail was a really innovative take on bo kho. It was like Vietnamese lasagna, with a sheet of rice noodle layered on top of baked Bolognese sauce. The rice noodle had a cilantro sauce, but it was hard to tell or taste when you mixed it with the tomato sauce. It was served with bread and shallot aoili, and while the aioli was absolutely delicious, I didn't understand where I was supposed to eat it with the dish. I made sure to take it home though for another use. This was my dad's favorite. The fried whole fish was solid as usual, though pretty pricey. I've gotten this every time and I don't remember if the accompaniments are always the same, but I think the sauce was. Tonight's dinner got the highest praise from my parents - "expensive but worth it"!!
