It was my lucky day, the food was delicious, fresh and made from scratch with a glass of great white wine and , SO IMPORTANT to me a lovely service, starting with a warm welcome smile from the owner and then with the outstanding kind service at my table from the young gentleman named (I think) Ethan. Super happy with my meal and experience here! There's metered parking and very limited residential parking. The interior is cute. I came on a Tuesday night and the warm lighting was cozy. There was other table seated when I arrived and then just 2 other parties that came after. They had orders picked up for delivery though. Super exciting to see a Cambodian place since most are in the East Bay or Stockton. As someone who grew up with Cambodian food, I would say it tastes like a home cook made it. Not a bad thing if you're looking for homestyle comfort, but I probably could just go to my aunt's house. Beef skewers were yummy but missing that almost caramelized grilled finish that you would find in the beef sticks in Cambodia. Maybe the marinade is too liquidy for that cooking reaction to happen. They were my favorite part of the meal but just missing the extra little something. Beef loc lac was fine but missing wok hei and the distinct black pepperiness that would come from using Kampot pepper. Phnom Penh noodles were a bit disappointing and quite plain (you can get these noodles aka hu tieu nam vang from other Vietnamese/Teochew places in the city). Overall, not a bad neighborhood place and a good intro to Cambodian food so come check it out! read more

We were craving for Thai food. This place has high ratings and we decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated by a friendly waitress upon entering this casual restaurant. We ordered the Papaya Salad With Grilled Shrimp, Cha Kroeung, Pumpkin Curry, Pad Thai, Loc Lac, Phnom Pehn Noodle, Mango Sticky Rice, and Megan's Roti Ice Cream. Our food came out in a timely manner. The Papaya Salad With Grilled Shrimp and Cha Kroeung were ok. There's nothing special about them. The Pumpkin Curry With Pork, Pad Thai, and Loc Lac were flavorful. It's nice to see more Cambodian places pop up in the city! Albeit this is a Cambodian/Thai restaurant, it has a few noticeable Cambodian dishes such as the phnom pehn noodles, Loc Lac and Khmer salad. Megan's Table takes over where PurTea used to be on Ocean Ave. This is a review of just their takeout/to go, since I didn't have time to dine in when I was in the area. The inside/interior has a contemporary/modern aesthetic with wood accents throughout; exuding a chill and relaxing cafe vibe. The staff that I interacted with was super friendly and helpful in helping decide what to order; unfortunately they didn't have the Phnom Pehn Noodles or Leng Soup available for takeout(not sure what the reason was); so I decided to give their Tom Kha a try. 1) Tom Kha(With Shrimp)(6/10) - A very warm and creamy coconut soup with a slight tang. I did ask to make it spicy, which they have 5 levels of. I went for level 3, which was a comfortable spice level; would definitely go a bit higher next time . There were tons of straw mushrooms + 6 small shrimps; and that was about it. There wasn't any garnishes such as cilantro or green onions. I did end up just cooking my own rice noodles at home to add to the soup to make it more of a meal. It was an okay bowl of Tom Kha - somewhat savory and sweet, coconut forward with a slight hit of sour(barely noticeable) and scent of lemongrass. I do wish them success as there are very few Cambodian spots in the SF area. Will definitely come back another time to give their other dishes a try as their prices seem very reasonable! read more

Leng soup is giant and comes with a lot of meat on the bones. Our order was very salty though, had to order a side of noodles and even then... we will be taking the rest home and adding neutral broth, will be amazing. This was the only downside of the whole and it's still good. Pumpkin curry and mango sticky rice are very flavorful, I do recommend those. Prices are very affordable (I fear they may have to raise prices in the future, like other restaurants in SF), so come quick! We ordered skewers, pumpkin curry, Leng soup, white rice, rice noodles, and mango sticky rice for $59, $75.63 after tax and tip. Feels very worth it. The inside is calm and nice, it strikes a balance between homey, intimate, and classy. The light slow jazz in the background contributes to an unrushed, chill dining ambiance. Service is attentive, nice, and quick. The skewers came out just minutes after ordering and the rest of the food followed before we finished the skewers. We will be back! I saw that there was a new Cambodian/Thai restaurant in the city so I had to stop by! I came with a friend on a Wednesday night and was able to grab a table, but shortly after all other tables filled up. It's a cozy place with about 7-8 tables and beautiful decorations. The ambiance felt very home-y. We tried the Loc Lac with beef, Mee Ka Tang with pork, and Thai Fried Rice with shrimp and all were bangers! They do not skimp on the protein and my favorite had to be the Loc Lac with Beef, mmm! I want to note their prices are very reasonable/affordable and portion sizes were big in my opinion. All items are around $10-15, so worth it in my opinion. There was one server, super sweet guy who checked in throughout the meal and made sure we were doing good. Seeing this new spot having so many good reviews, we made a special trip to Ocean Avenue just to try them out! Cute cafe vibes and modern decor, but that's where it ends. Did we order wrong? Did we come on an off day? ***OUR PICKS*** LAAB SALAD ~ spicy and sour ground chicken, salad with roasted rice powder, red onion, fresh herbs. This lacked flavor and moisture that it was just DRY. The meat used was chopped up chicken breast and not "ground" chicken. And there were only a few leaves of lettuce and not enough to call it a true salad. There was more dried meat than vegetables. Maybe a dressing or sauce would help this. 2/5 PAD KEE MAO ~ Spicy wok-fried wide rice noodles, basil, bell pepper, gai lan, cabbage and chicken. The wide rice noodles were broken and didn't have elasticity which is typical for fresh noodles. It was very spicy, but was lacking a depth of flavor. 3/5 THAI FRIED RICE ~ Thai style egg fried rice, tomato, gai lan, onion, and pork. This dish was probably the best among the 3 we ordered. Flavor was good, but can you really screw up fried rice? 4/5 Small portions which is typical for Thai food. But we felt the dishes were missing fish sauce or something to liven the flavor. Wanted to try this new Cambodian Thai fusion restaurant in the neighborhood. Was worried Ocean Ave. would be hard to find parking but my friend got front parking with 2 hour meter. I was lucky and found a 2 hour parking on the side street so did not have to pay meter. I made a reservation for 2 people for lunch, but it was not crowded inside and was not necessary at least for us. The decor is casual, bright and clean. Service was excellent. Probably restaurant seats about 30? Most tables were for parties of 4 but guess they can put tables together to accommodate bigger parties? Saw 1 round table right when you walk in and looks like it is also for 4 people. They do have a bar. We shared one Cambodian dish and one Thai dish. New Thai place on very busy Ocean Avenue. Soft opening on October 2nd in this bright, airy, high-ceilinged restaurant. Seats approximately 30 with 4 counter spaces and remaining tables of 2s and 4s with a large table for 6. Menu is simple and limited with Appetizers of Beef Skewers, Egg Rolls, Chicken Wings, and Spring Rolls. We had the Beef Skewers (2 to an order) which had good flavor but were a bit chewy. Also had the Egg Rolls (3 rolls cut in half) which were over priced, small and plain. No discernible flavor to these egg rolls while the texture was crunchy correct. Definitely needs the sweet dipping sauce. I don't recommend the two appetizers that we had but the chicken wings sound like a viable option. We also had the Tom Kha (Gai - Chicken, other proteins available) Soup which was very good but not substantially large. Suggest they make a Khao Soi with the Tom Kha Gai Soup - add thick noodles and a little chilli to it. This would be an easy seller on busy Ocean Avenue where you'd probably get a lot of single diners. The Pad Thai with Shrimp was also good, but again a little pricey for the portion served. We closed with Mango Sticky Rice which had a sweet, half slice of mango served on top of an overly chewy sticky rice., too chewy. Overall, nice ambiance, good service, and food is hit or miss depending on what you order. We liked the Tom Ka Soup and the Pad Thai. It recently opened at the beginning of October so they are still trying to promote themselves - like getting a free drink with an instagram tag! Space is clean and has a lot of natural lighting. Staff is friendly. I was pretty excited to come here since there's not too much places in SF area that have Phnom Penh noodles. We ended up ordering Cambodian beef skewers, laab salad and the Phnom Penh noodles. For the noodles, I chose dry flat rice noodles with soup on the side. There's also the option of egg noodles, thin rice noodles or flat rice noodles and soup in the noodles. Cambodian beef skewers had a strong lemongrass flavor but I loved the taste along with the pickled veggies. The soup was light and comforting, not too salty (especially since I finished it all and was not thirsty afterwards!) Noodles were smooth but might have been a tad overcooked. I added chili powder to it and the little kick of spice made the dish even better. Laab was a little dry but not over seasoned or oily. The family and I walked in around 5:30pm with the restaurant mostly empty. The entire restaurant, including bar seating area was filled by probably 5:45-5:50pm. We were pleasantly surprised with how much support this new establishment has gotten so far! For our experience, the restaurant is still trying to find its rhythm. As folks who have some restaurant experience, it was clear that they're still working on establishing their processes and be able to continue to provide a high level of service during a surge. They definitely struggled in that area tonight as we were only checked in on for our order and then for our bill at the end of our meal. Of the dishes we ordered, we were most impressed with the pad see ew, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. However, we did feel as though the laab salad ($13) and beef skewers ($12) fell short because they were just too salty for our taste. We were also had some sticker shock seeing a bowl of white rice was $3. I honestly felt like this was a 3-3.5 star experience but am deciding to round up because I want to support this new business and am also hoping that the hiccups we experienced are due to being a new business, which may have some inconsistency at the beginning. First time trying a Cambodian restaurant and it was delicious. Leng soup was a sour spicy pork bone soup and I recommend trying if you like Canh Chua, Sinigang, or other sour soups. Cha Kroeng flavor was good, especially the lemongrass. Pad See Ew was not bad too, a little on the sweeter side though. Good flavor, slightly tough. * Khmer Salad with shrimp $19 - 2.5 stars. There hasn't been a Cambodian spot in SF for years so I was excited to try this. When I waved down the Asian waiter she looked she didn't want to be bothered and was so standoffish. The young African American waiter was super nice and helpful and busting her a**. I ordered fried chicken for my kids. When my kids was eating I noticed it was bloody chicken. I stopped them from eating the rest and asked for a refund on the wings and showed them how bloody it was. The owners didn't want to refund it. They kept saying they will cook the chicken that we found blood in. I said no because we were leaving. They were like you can take it to-go. I said no because what if the wings were still bloody when I left and I didn't trust it. After going back and forth they offered 50% off which I took. What I ordered Fried chicken- it was ok Dry noodle- no flavor. I put the broth in the dry noodles for flavor but it still wasn't good. I'm Cambodian, so when I saw that another Cambodian/Khmer restaurant would be opening soon in the city, I was very excited! My family and I finally got to visit recently and here's what I thought about the dishes we ordered: Phnom Penh Noodle 3/5: As someone who's grown up eating this dish, which is called Kuyteav Phnom Penh, I was looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. The flavor was lacking umami and had a strange seafoody undertone. I would have loved more fried garlic, the addition of cilantro, and ground pork (which is essential to Kuyteav PP). I felt like I was eating a regular noodle soup. My choice of wide rice noodle and adding their pickled peppers + sriracha saved this dish from being a total bummer. My sister had the dry version with egg noodles and she too said it was lacking. Additionally, when getting the dry version, the noodles should be flavored. Here, the noodles were just blanched and added into the bowl with the other ingredients/proteins. We found this strange! Loc Lac 5/5: The meat was tasty and cooked perfectly. However, I would prefer upping the dipping sauce amount. Pumpkin Curry 5/5: Flavor was on point. My dad enjoyed this dish, especially the pumpkin which is his favorite. Mee Katang 5/5: With egg is much better - just like how my family eats it! Here, they make it very saucy. No complaints. My mom loved it. Korean Strawberry Milk 5/5: Delicious and refreshing, especially after these savory meals. All in all, I'm happy to have gotten to support this new Cambodian/Thai restaurant! Great food, service and ambiance ! Ordered the pumpkin curry and loc lac. Plentiful and flavorful ! Lots of delicious pumpkin and the curry just right and the beef in the loc lac was cooked well and the lime sauce fantastic. We were too full for dessert so definitely coming back. Ordered Pad Kee Mao (chicken) & Mee Ka Tang (tofu), mocha, and strawberry matcha. Pad Kee Mao was legit however super spicy. Asked for heat 2/5 and still couldn't finish the plate and I use hot sauce on everything. Otherwise, delicious. Had to remind the server about the mocha and when it arrived it was room temperature and didn't seem completely blended. As the interior of the restaurant was rather chilly, I wanted the mocha to keep my hands warm so that was disappointing. Wife enjoyed the Mee Ka Tang and her strawberry matcha which had real fruit in it. No pics but it looked really fun! Will return but maybe ask 1/5 heat, get a hot tea, and keep my jacket on. read more

Lovely space, nice interior, and wonderful service. The dru phnom pehn noodle with soup on the side for only $10 was unheard of. Not the best I've had, with really soft noodles, but adding some thai chilis, pickled jalapenos, and fish sauce did the trick. Soup on the side was delish. But for the price it can't be beat. Pumpkin curry with chicken was also flavorful, definitely need to order a side of white rice. Mango sticky rice to sweeten the meal was perfect. read more
