Food 4.5/5 The boat noodle soup was delicious! They were generous on the meat and the meats were tender. The duck curry was pretty standard but had a lot of pineapples. Jasmine rice was too soft and sticky and didn't taste that great with the curry. The fried appetizer tasted like meatballs and would re-order! Service 4/5 Standard service with the water and check. Ambiance 3.5/5 It has an open kitchen in the front and a few tables in the back for seating. The ventilation isn't very good so it can get warm. It would be nice to for the dining area to be brighter and if the bathroom wasn't so close to the tables!

Sometimes wandering around the city I tend to pass a place you have frequent many times years ago and then decided to stop going because of other places which are so similar. It use to be the King of Thai Noodle and it was a good place to grab Thai food after drinking on Clement street. Today this restaurant is still a Thai restaurant but it isn't no longer a King of Thai Noodle. This location looks the same but it's now called Nakorn Thai. On a Summer stroll on the last weekend of July I landed at Nakorn Thai restaurant on Clement street. I wanted to try their Pad See Ew and noodles where fresh and the dish was tasty. I also got the beef curry and it was savory and the sauce had lots of flavor. My favorite dish was the Kao Pad Gai Tod . The Thai fried chicken was the best I had in the city. It was crispy and delicious. Lastly I got the mango sticky rice which was not too sweet with pieces of juicy mango. Overall a good place to grab some Thai food. So enjoy the sun in the "sky" it's almost the end of "July"so I wanted to "try"some new place to me for some food that's "Thai" Go on a Summer "stroll" and get a sour like some in SF with Tom Yum "bowl"and also get some noodles with some "Guay Tiew Yen Ta Fo" on Clement street in "San Francisco"

I ordered pickup by phone directly from Nakorn Thai because I like supporting local and avoiding delivery apps when possible/it makes sense. I went with the #21 Kao Gra Prow with pork and added a fried egg, since it seemed like a popular choice, and the person who took my order was very nice and even helped recommend a spice level. I went with medium, and when I mentioned that I like spice, she also offered to include some of their available spicy sauces, which I appreciated. Overall, the flavors were good, but not especially memorable for me. I was expecting a lot more of that savory punchiness I love in Thai food, but everything tasted a bit muted. The medium spice level was also very mild, so if you enjoy heat I would definitely recommend going with at least hot. One thing that did disappoint me was the pricing. I ordered directly because I wanted to avoid the app markups, but I was still charged more than the price listed on their website. The item I ordered was shown as $18, but I was charged $21, which felt misleading. They should either keep the online menu updated or remove the prices altogether so there is no confusion. Overall, it was a decent meal with friendly service, but between the muted flavors and the pricing issue, I'm not sure I would go back to try other items as perhaps I ordered the wrong thing.

What a find this little restaurant was for us. In the Sunset & Richmond districts are a plethora of Thai restaurants and today we chose to try Nakorn. Definitely a kind of a hole in the wall, which is usually my favorite kind of restaurant. The open kitchen upon us entering was nice to see, and the cooks were extremely welcoming. We started off with our Thai iced tea, which were quite good. We decided to each get something different so we could share. I had the red curry with vegetables and tofu. My other friend had Tom kha kai soup and the other person had a peanut curry. ALL were delicious bursting with flavor. I'm excited to have my leftovers for dinner tonight. The prices are quite reasonable and the portions large. I would definitely return to this spot again if in the area.

I love it when I discover a restaurant while walking around. My friend and I were walking around Clement Street in San Francisco and stumbled upon Nakorn Thai. The restaurant smelled so good from the street and we decided to try it out. My friend and I ordered the tom kha soup, fried chicken over fried rice and Thai iced tea. OMG, when the staff brought out the food, our jaws dropped! The bowls and plates are huge! My friend was visiting from Texas so he is use to large portions but he was still surprised of how big the portions are. The tom kha was creamy, hearty and had great flavor. It was loaded and I really enjoyed it. The Thai iced tea was large and I cannot believe I found one in San Francisco that is under $5! Creamy, fragrant and so good! The star of the night was the fried chicken over fried rice. Lots of crispy fried chicken and lots of fried rice. The portion size can easily feed 2 people and it was so good! One of my favorites in San Francisco now. The owners are a husband and wife team and they were very friendly and nice. I definitely will come back to try more of their items and this is definitely a hidden gem on Clement Street!

A super duper new clean hole-in-the wall Thai restaurant on the iconic foodie land of clement street! I decided to give this place a try after seeing positive reviews and I was not let down! We were served by the most loveliest family-esque server. Nakorn has your Thai restaurant staples from pad Thai to pad see ew, curries and a lot of authentic noodle soups, special dishes I'll come back for another day. On to the great food .... Kao Gra Pow A very very super fragrant herbaceous beef basil dish. My mind was very blown when I took my first bite with how moist the beef was with the generous amount of white rice! Easily shareable amongst two unless you want to ravage the plate for your self and be full Pad See Ew It has your tamarind umami sweetness that makes or breaks a Thai noodle stir fry dish. We opted for medium spicey (ask for 'Thai spicy' and you'll be in for a sinus cleanse!) a great balance of veggies along with pieces of soft tender fried tofu! A must get for the table unless you're in team pad Thai

Cute little restaurant on busy Clement street. My fiancé was getting a massage near by so I walked over for a bite. I was greeted right away and seated. Place was clean and I like how you are able to see the kitchen as soon as you walk in. Almost gives it a street vendor vibe. There was a lot on the menu but not too much where it felt overwhelming. I order the chicken satay and red pumpkin curry with chicken and jasmine rice. Spice levels was perfect I could of gone a little lore spicer but overall it was delicious. Peanut sauce was amazing. I think I've door dash from here before and the food was just as good. Would definitely come back and try some crab cakes when I'm not pregnant .

I was looking to grab a late lunch before visiting the de Young Museum, and found Nakorn Thai SF on Yelp. This spot is really discreet - we nearly walked right by it. The entrance basically leads into the kitchen, and you have to walk through to get to the tiny seating area. Service was quick and efficient, and the ambiance was super casual. For drinks, my partner and I both ordered hot Green Tea. We got two entrees to share - the Yellow Curry with Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. I liked the flavor of the Pad Thai, and the non-traditional noodles. These were thinner and stickier that what I was used to, but worked well in the dish. The Yellow Curry wasn't very thick and had a nice flavor. I wish there were some more veggies in it, in addition to the potato and chicken. Overall, a good option for a quick, reasonably-priced meal!

The food is good, I finally got to eat Radnar , the noodles were slightly overcooked and it was a little soupy, I am used to the creamy sauce., and noodles with some bite to it . The fishcake had a little kick to it and it was tasty. The service is excellent. They made sure everything is fine. Coming often to check. The back part if the restaurant had the tables and chairs. It was a little bit tight for maneuvering around. The restroom was very clean and it smelled good. I recommend visiting them for good service and good food.

There are several reasons why we enjoyed our first visit to Nakorn Thai SF. First of all, it's definitely a hole-in-the-wall. And we love supporting small businesses. The kitchen is at the entrance on the right. That's where all the action is! Entering the long narrow aisle to the seating area is like falling into the rabbit hole in Alice in Wonderland. Once inside, the restaurant is magical. Everyone is enjoying their food. Everyone (well at least when we were there) were extremely neighborhood friendly sharing stories. It was so difficult to pick what to have for lunch since the menu is so extensive. The owner Nakorn was serving fragrant dishes to each table and it was like eye candy passing by every minute. Ugh, we wanted to order everything. The dishes were captivating. We decided to keep it simple and order Shrimp Pad Thai and Beef Pad Kee Mao. Nakorn asked me how spicy I would like my Pad Kee Mao. He said medium is 3 and it goes to 6. I said "Let's try 4. I like spicy." It was delicious, but painfully spicy where we had beads of sweat coming down the sides of our forehead. Hahaha! Jokes on me. But, it was well worth it. We finished our Valentines Day lunch with the mango sticky rice that hit the spot. Next time... no sharing! :) Nakorn had a little break where he told us that he doesn't even have a freezer. Everything is bought fresh every morning and from the local stores near his restaurant. Voila! Even more reason to support this gem of a restaurant. Nakorn supports small businesses and so here we are just playing it forward. Thank you, Nakorn, for the yum! We will definitely return.

Probably one of my favorite Thai restaurants located in the Inner Richmond on Clement street. For me to drive from the peninsula to get takeout here says volumes. Yes, Champa Gardens in the Ingleside is closer as well as Khao Tieu in the Parkside of which both are very good (slight nod to the latter) but something about Nakorn Thai makes me wanting to come back as I have come here years before when the ownership split off. Quality and quantity of my entree has always been consistent. We have dined in and done take out as shown. Depending on what time you do take out, entrees will take 15-20 minutes. Highly recommend for some reasonably priced Thai food.

I came on Sunday around 5:30, and was seated immediately. The steady influx/outflux of customers never made it seem too quiet, even though only half the restaurant was utilized. If you decide to come here, I recommend avoiding the Thai staples like Pad Thai and Tom Yum, and ordering at least 1 dish from the "From the Chef" section. This place feels more authentic with more unique offerings compared to your regular run of the mill Thai place (they are mostly government sponsored anyways). I ordered a Papaya salad (Som Tum Poo Pla), a Shrimp Paste Fried Rice, and Roasted Pork with Crispy Pork Belly. For starters, the Papaya salad with a bigger price tag is not for the faint of heart. There is a load of fish sauce, and combined with anchovies, makes for an...acquired dish. I was told by my server that it's pretty authentic, but it's a little too authentic and reminds me of Natto or Beijing tofu juice. The Shrimp Paste Fried rice is a must order; the spread is very instagram worthy and gives me vague paella vibes in terms that it's shareable and good for parties 2-4. I did not see this dish at other Thai restaurants I've been to, so I'd consider pretty unique. Just be mindful that it's on the sweeter side, and the chilis on the side are very, very spicy, so allocate accordingly. The Roasted Pork with Crispy Pork Belly was by far the star of the show. The skin was super crispy, and the pork itself was super tender, melt in your mouth feeling. The flavors and seasonings were perfect, with just a hint of basil to elevate the entire taste. A true adventure for the taste buds, and a must order as a shareable. Service was super friendly, and my waiter answered all my questions with a smile, and even gave us his recommendations since we wanted to stray away from the basic thai food orders. This place is a must come to if you're looking for true authentic Thai food from a chef that has pride in his work. I can't wait to come back to try their other unique dishes!

Papaya salad was fresh and came with lettuce leaves as well. A solid app to split with a small group. I didn't try the drunken noodles as the group wanted beef in it, but I heard it was good. We decided to get tofu as the protein for the pad see ew, and it definitely hit the spot. However, I'd say the choo chee salmon was the winner. The curry sauce was super flavorful and had hints of coconut. Salmon was cooked well, and it came with some veggies that soaked up the curry. We didn't ask for rice on the side since we already had 2 carb dishes, but it would pair very nicely with white rice. Service was good. They checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. I had a noon reservation but showed up at 11:30 right as they opened, and there was no issue getting seated - reservations don't seem necessary for lunch, even as the place filled in past noon. It's on the ground floor of the Parc 55 hotel in San Francisco, with the entrance on the corner of Ellis and Madison. I took BART in, and it's a short walk from Powell St. Station, which made things easy. If you're driving, be ready for the usual San Francisco parking challenge. One quirk worth knowing: the restroom is in the hotel lobby, and you'll need to grab a key card from the hostess to get in. The space itself is clean and simply decorated - nothing flashy, but comfortable. Service was friendly and attentive throughout. I started with the mushroom hor mok, then had the pad kee mao at medium spicy for my entree. Everything was delicious - plenty of umami depth and a solid, well-judged level of heat. On the drink side, the Tom Yum 2.0 cocktail was spectacular, with really excellent balance and a nice tart edge. I also tried the Koh Kood, which was good but didn't have quite the same wow factor as the Tom Yum 2.0. On value: it's expensive for Thai food, but everything in the city runs higher, so in that context I'd call it a good value. That said, if you've got a go-to local Thai spot you already love, the price point here might be a tougher sell by comparison. I was flying solo this visit, but this feels like a spot best enjoyed with a group, ordering family style so you can work through more of the menu. Overall, a great experience and one I'd recommend for a group outing where everyone's comfortable sharing dishes.

The ahi scoops had the best seaweed salad on it that I have EVER had, the wasabi cream on top was the show stopper, and I don't even like wasabi 5/5. We shared the flight and was more than tipsy from two drinks each, flavors on point champagne delicious 5/5. Overall

Had Blackwood on my list for a while as I was looking for nee brunch places to try. The premise of…read morea thai fusion brunch intrigued me and I was hoping it was would surpass my expectations and previous experience with Peacock Pansy (similar brunch spot). The reservation system was a bit odd with no designated time slots, but rather you put in a time yourself online. The system turned out to not work very well as I originally booked a spot for 2 at 11am and then had to call to move it to 11:40am (weird time). Turns out when we got there, my name or a close spelling of it was on the list for 12:40pm. This wasn't a big deal to me since it's easy to mishear on the phone so we moved on from that. The restaurant was decently booked and we sat inside. Now for what my partner and I ordered! Unfortunately nothing called to me strongly so I went with the very basic choice of 2 eggs plate with ciabatta toast and rainbow potatoes. I added in chicken sausage for $3. 5/10: The toast was unbuttered and honestly tasted stale. The potatoes were nice and crispy, but unsalted and quite plain. The eggs were nice, I got mine scrambled. Sausages were okay, I think I actually ended up with the pork sausages rather than chicken. My plate was $26 and I can confidently say it is not worth close to that unfortunately. Brussel Florentine Benedict 6/10: My partner was intrigued by the ton yum hollandaise sauce. There was a hint of it which was nice. Benedicts were okay, nothing special. Coconut oat matcha 8/10: On the sweeter side, but enjoyable! I liked the toasted coconut pieces on top and thought it was a nice drink. Premium matcha wise, I don't agree necessarily, but hey it was an enjoyable drink. Drip coffee 0/10: My partner loves a drip coffee and not in a snobby way. From diner coffee to honestly plain old regular slightly brunt coffee, thats her jam. This coffee was just burnt. Not sure what happened but it was $5 for a completely bitter cup of burnt coffee. Not great. Fun side note: As we were ordering the table next to us called attention to their dish as their waffle was completely undercooked and tasted bitter. The wait staff was apologetic about it, but seemed to either not understand or insist it was "too sweet" not undercooked or bitter. The table was very polite about it so honestly it was not the best look for the restaurant. It was simply feedback and I don't believe it was taken very well. Regardless, just a fun note to throw in! We will not be back unfortunately. There are many lovely brunch spots and restaurants around the city and sadly I don't think this one is worth a try just because of the cost for the quality, but I always tell myself its always worth to try in case you do think differently!

Cozy ambience that's great for meetups and long hangouts to chat and catch up. The staff was very…read morekind and the service was decently fast. The interior is well decorated with Thai culture and with the darker tones of the design, it makes the restaurant feel quite fancy. 4.5/5 - Crispy Pork (Moo Krop) Fried Rice - Very savory fried rice dish. Spiced well and very filling. We didn't expect the pork to be cut so large and mixed into the rice, but it was very tender and easy to still eat. We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish. Filling portions and did not overcook their noodles. You can taste each component of the dish, which speaks to everything not being under or overcooked. We ordered nuts on the side but you would be quite satisfied ordering this if you like pad thai! 4.5/5 - Pad Gra Prow - Appropriate veggie to beef proportion and very flavorful. Minced well and great to complement with your carb dishes (noodle or rice). We thought the dish was slightly oily but it feels well absorbed when eaten with our pad thai. If you have tried the dish before and would like it, this will be satisfactory!

I'm giving this place a solid 3.5 Stars so I rounded up to 4…read more I would have rated it higher but they brought my entree out 10 minutes before the rest of the food including our appetizer! So that sucked. 1st let's admire my Thai Ice Tea. This was so adorable & I felt bad drowning him in my tea ha 2nd - my co-worker said this was the 2nd best Pad Thai he's ever had. They grill the tofu so it's got some crunch to it. Which totally elevates the Pad Thai. My Panang Curry with duck was excellent! Decent amount of duck just a few bones. Great little kick on the spice BUT not so spicy that it makes you regret life choices! Delicious will order again. The only thing I'd complain about is that my rice wasn't sticky. I prefer stickier rice - but this rice is perfect if you don't have a preference. I don't want fully unwashed mush but I like a little more starch. My other co-worker ordered Roasted duck over rice - he said it was tasty & would order again. We did order chicken satay and the chicken had good flavor BUT the peanut sauce was just ok. I'd order it again to see if it was just an off day for the sauce. It's a small restaurant & filled quickly at lunch. Many Asians eating there which told me it would be good. Restrooms were slippery so be careful but clean. Overall I would come again!
