Back again after our third surgery, and another 5/5 stars, wishing I could give more. I picked up my dog 1 hour ago after his surgery with Dr. Bustamante. Her professionalism, kindness, attention to detail, and knowledge is above and beyond. I have an English Bulldog, a very specialized breed that generally requires specialists, and Dr. Bustamante knew such important and specialized things about his health and anatomy. She sat with me upon my arrival for pick up, and explained expectations in such precise detail. I walked away, as a generally anxious mom, with no questions or concerns. I know my baby was, and is, in amazing hands. She encouraged me to text her about absolutely any update, including the amount of times I give him a specific medicine, how his breathing is, and his energy levels. Honestly said "just text me" about 7 times in our conversation. That level of care and companionship is something I have not experienced in my 6 years having my own dogs. Everyone in the facility during drop off and pick up treated my dog and I like family. It was almost impossible to feel one ounce of worry during this process. If you need an eye surgeon, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Bustamante!!!!!! I have only experienced top notch, 5 star visits at Animal Eye Specialists. I leave with a feeling of gratitude that this vet is my neighborhood eye specialist. I would drive my dog here for treatment if I ever moved away. Top of the line care, staff, facility, and most important, treatment and surgical center. Thank you, for taking such good care of my boy this past year.

Mandy a couple months after cataract surgery!

My dog had cataracts due to her diabetes. After she was diagnosed with the diabetes and lost her eye sight, we immediately went to see Dr. Lyons to get her checked out. The office provided us with a quote but did not pressure us to go with the surgery. I wanted to wait to get my dogs diabetes under control before we went with the procedure. In the meantime, my dog developed an eye ulcer and Dr. Lyons was quick to respond and provide us with a resolution. One year later, I decided to go with the cataract surgery because I could tell my dogs health was getting much better. The surgery definitely improved her quality of life and she was seemed like a new dog (more energetic, happy) and we could finally take her on long walks again. The procedure comes with a couple check up appointments, which I love. In addition, waiting time in that office is pretty nonexistent so you are in and out within 15 minutes! I'm so glad I went with Animal Eye Specialist for my dogs eye needs. They are decently priced and their work and care is outstanding. Thank you again Dr. Lyons and team for taking such great and gentle care of my dog!

The graft is healing after 3 weeks! Her vision is coming back as well

After suffering from a visit at Archvet, I went to my regular vet veterinary office and they recommended. I bring my dog to the animal eye specialist in Campbell. The first vet was an emergency vet, but they weren't equipped to handle her corneal eye ulcer. they had us pay $900 just for an eye exam and ointment when what they should have done was to send us to the eye specialist since there was nothing they could do at their hospital for my dog. This was money that we wasted instead of getting our dog seen right away. When I showed up to the animal specialist, I was in tears because it was the third office I had been to in less than 24 hours and at that point I was very uncertain that we could keep my dogs eye arch, but stressed my dog out so much that they ulcer actually got bigger and worse, and the ointment that they gave was a steroid, which is not recommended for ulcers because it could make them worse On the flipside when I arrived the reception team and the assistance were extremely helpful. They're explanations were detailed, and they knew how to calm the dog down in order to properly examine her eye without inflicting any more harm to her the decision to fix her eye was costly, but I didn't mind since it was so close to the same cost just to remove her eye, which would permanently blind her. I'm glad to say that we did go ahead and save her eye with a corneal graft and she is healing remarkably I am so happy that I came here and was directed here from my regular vet, and I am forever grateful to the veterinary team here for their time and attention and answering all the text messages during and after hours. They run an excellent business and I would recommend all of my clients to come here.

After seeing Kristina

High praises for this office. I came in crying upon drop off and pick up, and I was met with empathy and caring staff. Kristina, the vet, was amazing in her diagnosis for my cat, although it was unclear as to why my cats eye was bulging out. She took in my cat for the day and did different procedures to find a solution. I got: Ultrasound, three forms of meds, exam, stain and it came out to $700 which I think was a fair price, as I paid $300 the day before at ArchVet which wasn't helpful at all. I highly recommend this office.

Before her eye became infected

Dr. Lyons and her staff are amazing! My pup Zorah (rat terrier/basenji mix) eye became infected after getting a small hair from a plant in it. It developed into glaucoma within weeks. Dr. Lyons recommended enucleation (removal of the eye) because the glaucoma already caused blindness in the eye and her eye was inflamed which was causing chronic migraines. For a week Zorah was in pain and didn't want to play and barely ate. Not even 24 hours after surgery Zorah was back to her normal playful self! It's amazing how resilient dogs are. Thank you, Dr. Lyons and your staff for providing such amazing care and treatment! Also, this was the first veterinarian medical practice I brought Zorah too where she wasn't nervous being there and after at her second visit, she was actually excited being there. Thank you for making such a devastating experience easier to handle and for providing such exceptional care throughout the whole process! P.S. To all you doggie owners out there, make sure your pups don't play around any plants or weeds that have little hairs on them. I never knew how much damage a little plant hair could cause until now :(

Special day today. Stitches were removed.

He doesn't provide any additional information though, so if you don't ask questions you're only getting the bare minimum information. I've never had him offer up "frequently asked question" type info or context. Dr. Anthony is a different story. When explaining the differential diagnosis for my dog's symptoms, it felt like she was thinking out loud and for an extended period with no confident recommendation. I had to ask "what would you do if this were your dog?" because it wasn't clear at all from the presentation of her thoughts. The front desk staff are very nice and responsive, but availability is a problem. I called because my dog had hurt her paw and was limping, but wouldn't let me get a close look at it. They didn't have any openings for TWO WEEKS. They did offer that I could drop her off and leave her for a day so the vet could see her between other patients. But here's the catch- that option is 25% more expensive than a regular vet visit and I can't even be there to ask questions (not to mention this plan requires two trips over there). The receptionist acknowledged that they are busy and are aware of the problem (per her: they start each day with some "same day" openings but those quickly get booked) but she admitted there are no plans to address this issue.

I feel horrible for My dog! still and the abuse was very obvious and I had I called I spoke to the owner of the stage hospitals and she agreed but I haven't heard back so I am gonna call her. My dog! deserved better than this. And your dog does too. I write this solely as my own experience and this is all allegedly of course. When someone behaves below what a veterinarian should behave like there is a standard for arm to be reliable and honest. Christina lied to my face after insulting me and that was just a red flag. It's important that your vet act like a team with you and the nurses. Being discriminated against as a horrible experience and I honestly don't even know why. If they check the records I'm a very attentive parent. I spoke to MVM and they said she's been there for a long time so she is protected so that sounds like a systematic issue to me. I was really disappointed I loved the other doctors the other departments Dr. Vitale Dr. Arcan Dr. cornerman the doctor that helped me in Redwood City just wonderful. It was just very unfortunate that I took Chloe to hear. She was a good dog and deserved a dignified death. This was anything but that. If your dog is old and sick you may want to take it to a different location Redwood City has been renovated and it's huge also MedVet is right next-door and I have never had an issue there either so this is just for others and you can go with what ever you like but I felt navigation to let you know my personal experience which I found astoundingly disturbing. When someone's lying and discouraging your dog I don't know how you defend them. I have always had dogs and I've seen a lot of vets and most of them would be horrified f their staff discriminated and was abusive and actually seemed to discriminate against me and was too aggressive for My dog!. My dog! was super smart and could understand what people were saying the poor thing tries to stand up and she yells oh you think that's good you know what if she had not said anything we may have gotten that dog to stand up. I don't know what's wrong with people but as a vet you should be held to a higher standard and most of my vets like I said would be horrified if it happened in their practice. Also I don't like liars I'm like a lie detector and she did say that My dog! look like it was dead and when I said that was a nice she said well we all think so and after that she proceeded to tell me that she didn't say that that she said something medical. That's called a lie. You shouldn't lie because you always get caught nice her attitude was so bad I really regret leaving My dog! with her. I needed a calm experienced person that to help My dog! not this craziness. It's inexcusable and it has to be called out and corrected. People shouldn't go through that especially with the price that they're paying. Sage seems to lack empathy in the ER department they've hung up on me they have basically been the weirdest unit I have ever dealt with being closed one night and yelling at me that they had lots of sick dogs. I don't think they handle stress well or have the equipment they need or whatever that's why I was recommending I would city or MedVet because both are calm cool and collected and the priority is the patient and not only treating them but treating them like a real living Creature who can hear what you say who knows when you're giving her mother a hard time even if she is sick. It really disgust me personally allegedly this happened this is my experience and really it just felt like a throat punch https://share.google/kfq27rF9shkOUKjvq

We ended up taking him in, as we just couldn't get things under control on our own and he was clearly in a lot of pain.
