Unfortunately, Dr. Lyon was unable to determine the exact cause of my cat Chester's eye condition during our visits. However, I truly appreciate the time, care, and effort she put into trying to figure out what was going on. Whatever he has may be something rare or genetic, and even now it remains uncertain. The condition seems to come and go, so for now we are continuing to monitor his eye closely at home for any changes. Dr. Lyon was very informative, thorough, and compassionate throughout the process. So were her Assistants who helped along the way. I hope that Chester's eye will be okay in the future, as for now, nothing clinically is wrong and he seems to be doing well. The receptionist reviewed the forms over the phone with me and helped me schedule an appointment for Winnie. At the time, they only had availability 3 weeks out. I could tell the receptionist sensed that I was stressed and told me I could check for cancellations before then. That same day, the receptionist called me back and let me know they had a cancellation for Friday. I really appreciated them reaching back out to me. At our appointment, we were quickly greeted by the receptionists. I didn't realize that our appointment was 30 minutes before closing, so I felt a bit guilty, but the staff didn't seem to mind at all. The vet techs were also extremely friendly, kind, and efficient. They made sure Winnie was comfortable throughout the visit and gave her plenty of treats. Dr. Burling was running late and didn't end up seeing us until past the time they closed. We didn't mind at all and felt bad we had kept her and the team so late. Again, no one seemed to mind. She was extremely nice and worked quickly to get a treatment plan for Winnie. She explained everything thoroughly and even worked with the medication we had from our primary vet. Back again after our third surgery, and another 5/5 stars, wishing I could give more. I picked up my dog 1 hour ago after his surgery with Dr. Bustamante. Her professionalism, kindness, attention to detail, and knowledge is above and beyond. I have an English Bulldog, a very specialized breed that generally requires specialists, and Dr. Bustamante knew such important and specialized things about his health and anatomy. She sat with me upon my arrival for pick up, and explained expectations in such precise detail. I walked away, as a generally anxious mom, with no questions or concerns. I know my baby was, and is, in amazing hands. She encouraged me to text her about absolutely any update, including the amount of times I give him a specific medicine, how his breathing is, and his energy levels. Honestly said "just text me" about 7 times in our conversation. That level of care and companionship is something I have not experienced in my 6 years having my own dogs. After suffering from a visit at Archvet, I went to my regular vet veterinary office and they recommended. I bring my dog to the animal eye specialist in Campbell. The first vet was an emergency vet, but they weren't equipped to handle her corneal eye ulcer. they had us pay $900 just for an eye exam and ointment when what they should have done was to send us to the eye specialist since there was nothing they could do at their hospital for my dog. This was money that we wasted instead of getting our dog seen right away. When I showed up to the animal specialist, I was in tears because it was the third office I had been to in less than 24 hours and at that point I was very uncertain that we could keep my dogs eye arch, but stressed my dog out so much that they ulcer actually got bigger and worse, and the ointment that they gave was a steroid, which is not recommended for ulcers because it could make them worse On the flipside when I arrived the reception team and the assistance were extremely helpful. They're explanations were detailed, and they knew how to calm the dog down in order to properly examine her eye without inflicting any more harm to her the decision to fix her eye was costly, but I didn't mind since it was so close to the same cost just to remove her eye, which would permanently blind her. I'm glad to say that we did go ahead and save her eye with a corneal graft and she is healing remarkably I am so happy that I came here and was directed here from my regular vet, and I am forever grateful to the veterinary team here for their time and attention and answering all the text messages during and after hours. Our frenchie had a really bad melting corneal ulcer. We originally took her to MedVet on a weekend and was given amoxicillin, gabapentin, serum eyedrops, and ofloxacin to stop the melting of her cornea. Being that they are emergency vets, they made us feel panicked and judged for letting her eye get as bad as it did. We didn't wait long to take her in, everything just progressed very quickly. We acted as quickly as we were able. Until we were able to get an appointment at the animal eye specialists, I was so worried she was going to lose her eye because her eye looked horrible!!! We went to another vet prior to being able to get an appointment here...we were charged money and sent away because it was too severe, but really what kind of animal hospital doesn't have the ability to provide serum drops? Why did they even take our case when they don't have the means to provide treatment? This is why you don't go to a tire shop to have your car painted...am I right? I was sooooo relieved when we were finally able to get her in to see Dr. Vig. After a month of coming here for multiple checkup appointments, her ulcer is finally healed and her eye is starting to look normal again despite looking somewhat zombie-like. Kristina, the vet, was amazing in her diagnosis for my cat, although it was unclear as to why my cats eye was bulging out. Dr. Lyons and her staff are amazing! My pup Zorah (rat terrier/basenji mix) eye became infected after getting a small hair from a plant in it. It developed into glaucoma within weeks. Dr. Lyons recommended enucleation (removal of the eye) because the glaucoma already caused blindness in the eye and her eye was inflamed which was causing chronic migraines. For a week Zorah was in pain and didn't want to play and barely ate. Not even 24 hours after surgery Zorah was back to her normal playful self! It's amazing how resilient dogs are. Thank you, Dr. Lyons and your staff for providing such amazing care and treatment! Also, this was the first veterinarian medical practice I brought Zorah too where she wasn't nervous being there and after at her second visit, she was actually excited being there. My 10.5 year old dog developed a mass on his right eyelid back in May 2025. I took him to his vet and was told to monitor the mass since 80% of the time, they are benign. If it gets bigger, then I may want to have it removed by a veterinary eye specialist. Three months later, the mass grew. I made an appointment with Animal Eye Specialist based on the reviews from Yelp. Brought my dog in to see Dr. Vig and she did a complete eye exam on him. Dr. Vig was very understanding, didn't rush through the appointment and answered all my questions. She said it was a simple procedure and explained how she would remove the mass. At the end of the appointment, the office provided an estimate for the procedure which was very transparent and reasonable in terms cost. Fast forward, my dog had his procedure done and everything went well. No complications. Dr. Vig did a great job and you can barely tell that he had surgery on the eyelid. Front desk has always been super helpful for me - I appreciate the kindness they have shown me. Recently my poor little guy had a bunch of eye discharge, and they were able to get me an appointment in less than 24 hours. After a diagnosis of upper respiratory infection, I was sent home with some meds from Dr Lyons. Dr Zig is my regular feline eye doctor that we see, and I highly recommend her. I've taken my older kitty here for years now after she developed eye ulcers. The staff is very knowledgeable and responsive. Dr. Vg also spotted extreme hypertension that my regular vet had missed- treatment has been a game changer for my cat's quality of life. The only area for improvement is reducing the level of noise in the clinic. The interior door to treatment area slams shut as people go in and out (ie, every few seconds) - it made both me and my cat jump every time. Front desk staff (and interns) should lower their voices. And creating a quiet area in receptions for cats away from dogs might be a good idea. read more

They have GREAT customer service. They also have clean accommodations and it feels professional, empathetic and non chaotic which I appreciate. They have a clear drop off process and minimize lobby chaos. The only recommendation I have is communicating cost of check up diagnostics before they are ran so there is clear cost understanding before checkout. I have pet insurance so this has been less of an issue for me, but the first bill was $600 and the second was $400ish and the only cost conversation I had was that the initial consultation was $200-$300 (can't remember off the top.) I'm guessing they may deal with clientele that have the funds and don't have as much concern here, but that was a little surprising. Dr. Burling and this clinic killed our dog, Baxter, after overselling a cataract operation that was clearly not suitable for a 14-year-old dog with diabetes. What was described as an "easy procedure" turned into a nightmare that deteriorated his health within three days and the best advice she could render was to simply refer us to the ER, where he died. My cat has one wonky eye for no specific reason, most likely triggered by stress and allergies. I was recommended Animal Eye Specialists by my regular vet. The front desk group is really nice. I'm in Berkeley and they made sure that I can get to Campbell and double checked with me if there isn't a place closer. I arrived early because just in case there's bad traffic. Waiting in the lobby was fine, there's tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. Patchouli was examined and then I got to go in with her to consult on steps. Like I thought, she just has idiopathic inflammation. Went home with Ketorolac and looks like she will be on it daily. I was worried about the preservatives and Dr. Vig worked with me to figure out a better solution. Patchouli will get some glycerin eyedrops. What's really nice is that the communication by text is really simple. No wondering if front desk communicated to Dr. Vig properly. Everything is on text. The office also checked in with me to see how Patchouli is doing. The most seamless veterinary interaction. No fancy app, just good ol texting. I wish every office was like this. So thankful for this place! One day our dogs eye just started swelling up with discharge coming out of it. We brought him to the ER and they prescribed us a gel for his eye but even after applying for five days, we didn't see any improvement. He was in extreme discomfort and pain so we got an appointment to see the specialist. So glad they got to take a look because it turns out he had a foxtail lodged in his eye! :( they were extremely thorough and informative to us on the whole process. Dr. Burling was incredibly patient, empathetic, and thorough during Bentley's examination and enucleation process. I went to her for a second opinion and am so glad that I did. Bentley has been blind for 5 years due to cataracts in both eyes and developed painful glaucoma in his right eye. I am so thankful to have this resource so close to me. I found a spot in my husky Zeke's eye that Dr. Lyons wanted to remove. She said it could be cancerous, but because it was so tiny and caught early (thank goodness), we were able to do cryotherapy to remove it. She was so kind, understanding, and seemed to genuinely care about me and my dog. She even worked with my dog's internal specialist (who thankfully works next door) to ensure the twilight anesthesia he was under would be as safe as possible. This veterinary office is nothing short of amazing. They helped me save my dogs eyesight. Upon calling them they gave me an idea of what was going on with my dogs eyesight after she was diagnosed with having pressure in right her eye. They then informed me how to watch out for increased pressure so that my dog wouldn't go blind before my appointment. They fit me in for an emergency appointment in just few days. At my appointment the team members and the doctor were super knowledgeable and professional and they help me to understand more of what was going on with my dogs eyesight (she has glaucoma and cataracts).
