Wow! As we walked in we were greeted by all the employees in korean and they were so enthusiastic that we were here! What a warm welcome. You can feel the good energy exuding from everyone that works there so we're already off to a good start! If you have been to Seoul Food before in CLT, this place is kinda similar vibes but think more sit down and less fast food type of dishes. I would describe this place as an authentic but modern Korean food restaurant. When: party of 2 for dinner at 7:30pm on friday. No wait! Overall: 4.9/5 Food: 4.8/5 - we started out with three appetizers: the pop mandu which are fried dumplings, the bulgolgi tacos, which come three to an order, and the dakgangjeong which reminds me of little fried chicken bites with a sticky sauce that is on the Sweeter side kinda like a spicy, tangy barbecue. They were all super delicious, but our favorites were the Bulgogi tacos and the pop mandu. The Bulgogi tacos had grape flavored to them, and the beef was just so delicious. The sauce that they used inside of it was mouthwatering. The pop mandu were pretty simple yet very delicious, I loved that little sauce that came with it. I think it was some sort of sesame sauce, but it was perfect and on the lighter side. And to finish off the dinner we got the crispy soy soyuk. This was also another delicious dish but with crispy pork belly it's hard to eat a lot of it because it is so fatty. There was a little salad below the pork belly that had a garlic dressing, and it was super delicious. Anyway, I do wish that they had a smaller portion that was an appetizer size, but still glad that we tried it! Suggestion: add rice as a complimentary side to any of the anju specials! And offer that garlic salad under the soy suyuk as a side salad.. its so yummy!! Or add the sides to the menu if they are already an option! Service: 4.9/5 - the servers here were superb. From them greeting us when we first entered until the last goodbye when we left, everyone there was super attentive and kind. We didn't have to ask for anything at all. They just knew when to get us stuff and when to refill stuff. The chopsticks they provided are the wooden one time use that come in a paper wrapper. As soon as i took them out of the wrapper and put the paper on the table, the server came over and took the trash away immediately. That's how attentive they were! Amazing. Only suggestion to make it a 5/5 is to offer recommendations or ask guests if it's their first time there and offer to explain dishes. Vibes: 4.9/5 - the place is bumping with K-pop music, but it's not that loud where you can't hear the other person at your table. It's at a good level and good energy. Just don't expect a quiet sit down. The place and the people just give me Korean party vibes hehe but its not crazy or anything! Just all around good vibes, good people, and good food. I can't even begin to tell you how great their food is. Bulgogi is always my favorite dish to order! So flavorful and great portion size. Kalbi is another great thing to order here! As of 10/13/23, Anju has only been open for 1 week. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Food was good and served at nice hot temperatures. This place is not so much fine dining as it is a great open late place for Korean food and drinks. If you're in the the mood for Korean food served late in Charlotte, then Anju should be towards the top of your list for consideration. Vibe is pretty chill with the K-Pop/Korean comedies on the video displays and would be an excellent place to hang out over drinks. read more

What a nice new addition to the Charlotte food scene! They're open for dinner only until 12am which is so nice because so many restaurants close around 9-10pm. They give a cozy and modern atmosphere and their menu is smaller which I love. I don't feel overwhelmed when ordering! The servers felt very professional and attentive. I think food-wise, they are creative but I think the flavors and textures could be improved! The crispy soy suyuk was a little over cooked so the meat felt dry. The budae jongol only feeds 2 max and I feel like it may be a little overpriced as it usually feeds more and has more ingredients at other establishments I've been to. Small place with only about 6-8 tables. Service was fast. We were sat and greeted quickly. Server hovered over the table a bit too much. But I think he had good intentions. Portions were average. I had the calamari which was extremely chewy but my main course was delicious. This is a fairly expensive place where you would spend between $30 and $50 per person. Would I go back? Maybe. Visited on a quiet Wednesday night with my friend after coming in from Chicago Service: 100 We were the only table tho. A lot of places closed early when we went out Tuesday night, so already a plus that they stayed open despite there being no one around. Seafood Pancake was flavorful but I didn't quite like that it was a bit soggy. The Spicy Pork was delicious for what it is but the aftertaste was not entirely my cup of tea. The Spicy Stew was perfect! I loved it so much! The ingredients were plentiful and flavors did not lack at all. I travel a lot, been to Korea, and explored a good amount of Korean restaurants in Chicago and this stew definitely hit the spot. Ambiance: 100 This is a "Korean Bar Restaurant". Small. Dark. Has a TV showing KPop videos. I don't consider myself a KPop fan, but I think most can agree it is getting popular these years and the music is catchy to listen to and watch. My boyfriend and I came here after hearing so many good reviews from our friends and they did not disappoint! We came here tonight and were greeted warmly by everyone and was able to be seated quickly. We got Dakgangjeong, Jeyuk Bokkeum, Tteokbokki, and complimentary Pop Mandu! Everything was delicious. I will say that the Tteokbokki might be quite spicy for some people, which they did warn us haha but still flavorful! Almost similar to a Rosè flavor. We also ordered the Blackpink and Lemon Soju cocktails!! Overall, best customer service we have experienced, food is delicious and packed with flavor. Do not sleep on this place!! It was so incredibly delicious. They've been open for 3 Ish weeks now and we had been dying to try it. Anju lived up to and even exceeded our expectations! We dined in for my husband's birthday, where we were warmly greeted as we walked in the door with a loud "hello!" from everyone working. Every single one of the staff working in the front of the house came to our table to check on us, and say hello while we were there; and we learned that they are bringing their NY concept to Charlotte, to share and enjoy! The spicy teokkbokki was fantastic - a lot of kick, but not overpowering the taste. I've never had seafood pajeon (pancake) in waffle form and it works so well!! The LA galbi was perfection. Service was great all the way through. They have a large selection of soju and drinks to accompany the food. Next time we will try their Buddha's jigae and kimchi waffle. I really like this place! I'd have the say the best Korean food in Charlotte is at Anju. I love the lighting and ambience in there. The place is extremely clean and everyone is always so polite. We got the spicy rice cakes, budae jiggae, dakgangjeong, shrimp tostadas, and the black pink (no alcohol) & yuzu like. MUST try's would be the rice cakes and dakgangjeong, I would eat it any day of the week they're perfection. the budae jiggae (romanization is so weird idk how to spell it) was actually really good. I don't eat any kimchi other than my mom's but they actually made the stew really good. My mom wins though. The tostadas were honestly mid and you can pass on it, I'd try anything else than them. The drinks were okay! Nothing super crazy, they did make the black pink without alcohol for me which I really appreciated since I'm allergic.
