    Cracker thin crust
    Wendy B J.

May 11, 2026 Never tried this style before and today seemed like a good time. I grew up in central New Jersey, between two powerhouse pizza cities (New York & Phila.) so when it comes to pizza, I can be a pretty tough critic. This style has a cracker thin crust with a buttery taste. It was cut differently than regular pizza and I found that easy to eat. I ordered a 10' and for one, it's enough. Besides, I took a few pieces home. The taste of the sauce and toppings were good. I usually drink beer with my pizza but today, I just wanted a cold Mr. Pibb. Went perfectly with the pizza. Now, whenever you dine on 2nd street in Long Beach, parking can be a challenge but I lucked up this time. I was there just before 1pm. Service was good and given with a smile. All in all, recommend to those who have never tried this style of pizza. Always remember to tip your server!

I finally had the opportunity to try Rance's and I really wanted to love it since it's in the perfect location and Chicago style pizza isn't easy to find in these parts of town. Sadly, the cornbread crust isn't for everyone and it makes for a really thick consistency and overpowering taste. However, the waitress was really sweet. The bourbon wings were so delicious and the ranch dressing is what I will be back for.

What would I do without Rance's?! I am not from Chicago, but find their deep dish pizza to be the best I've ever had. Crispy crust, GENEROUS toppings, always hot and fresh, and served by genuinely nice people. The space is open and airy, and it's a great place to go when you want to watch a game or have a leisurely day or evening out. The pizza takes an hour to cook, but it's SO worth it! Awesome salads and wings, and a very robust beer menu too!

Spicy Thai Wings-close runner up to best wings of Long Beach!

If you're looking for the best wings in Long Beach (or the entire WORLD!) then come to Rance's! It's a toss up between which of their wings are the best and I'm ALMOST at a dead tie between the maple bacon bourbon and the spicy Thai peanut. BUT there is a winner and I've decided the msple bacon bourbon wings take the CROWN as the official best wings in along Beach! They also serve up a killer a Chicago-style deep dish with a cornbread crust (pro-tip: order a side of honey to dip your crust in!) I'm also a fan of their thin crust pizza. But the wings are TRULY the star and should be world famous. There is metered street parking and a nearby lot that usually has spots to park in. The service is fine, I used to have a favorite server who no longer works there and now I'd say the service is fine and I typically get takeout. The ambiance is open windows and lots of dog watching on Long Beach's beautiful 2nd st on Belmont Shore. It gives open seating and bar vibes. Check this place out for the wings and the Chicago deep dish!

I was not prepared!!! I was only a little hungry when I came to eat lunch here with my buddy. They have a great selection of beers and some cider.and seltzer too. We got the buffalo wings for the appetizer... Best I've had in a while. We ordered a medium stuffed pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and olives. Soooo good but I had to take a couple slices home. I've never been to Chicago bit people have said this is the place to go for thatvstyle.of pizza. GREAT PLACE.! Service was awesome. Environment is awesome too... can't get any better than a patio seat on an 80* January day near the beach. Highly recommend... that you come hungry.

So yummy. This may have moved up to our favorite soCal deep dish spot (sorry Gino's). The crust just has a flakiness to it that really hits the spot. It was packed on a Tuesday night and the servers were super busy. Got the garlic cheesy bread to wait for the deep dish (the usual 45 minute wait). We got the one with meatballs, bacon and jalapeños and it was delicious!

Decided to stop in for a quick bite to eat. Our server David greeted us with a smile. Food was ok. Staff extremely friendly. I ordered the thin sausage and it seemed a tad big watery in flavor however all the other items were delish. Metered parking on the west side of the building or you can park on the east of the restaurant and earn some steps! One thing I will say is I wished David stopped by more to check on us!

TL;DR: Excellent! The Bourbon Wings are just awesome, we fought over them. Cool place to see a game too! So we just happened to stumble upon this place because we were in Long Beach looking for a place to eat decided to trust other Yelpers. Well it so happens that the Dodgers game was in so why not watch and have some good pizza. As we looked through the menu we decided to get some wings too. Well the pizza was really good but I forgot to take a picture of it. But the bourbon wings were so good and unexpectedly sticky gooey and tasty that we had to get two more orders. Kids were fighting over the meatier wings but they were some of the best wings I've ever had. Service was also great and this is a great spot to hang out and enjoy some good food with sports. Highly recommend!

    James R.

The deep dish pizza here is not really authentic deep dish. It's served in a deep dish, but does not taste like one. With that out of the way, it's still a pretty good pizza and I would still come back if I'm in town. The server was very attentive and hospitable.

Came to taste their famous Chicago pizza with lots of cheese, and it turned out to be quite cheesy--such that our table began cracking all sorts of cheesy jokes...LOL. Then came the wings, which were even more impressive. I highly recommend getting the wings with habanero and bourbon sauce.

David G never misses a beat, he keeps the cold beers flowing and the thirsty patrons happy, myself included!

I'm good for about two pilgrimages a year to this glorious temple of cheese and carbs, and let me tell ya, it never disappoints. David G was our server, and, like a seasoned Chicago veteran, the guy was dialed in all night. The atmosphere hits just right, TVs everywhere, perfect for sports junkies and championship dreams alike. Speaking of which, on this magical night (12/29/2025), I locked up my fantasy football league CHAMPIONSHIP, almost derailed by a Monday night miracle run fueled by Bijan Robinson, just a little side note of victory joy. Now let's talk pizza, because that's why we're all here. Rance's absolutely nails it. We're talking that thick, legendary, "fork required," cheese-for-days deep dish that stretches like it has its own highlight reel. Every bite? Pure happiness. Every slice? A commitment. Every chew? Chicago approved. And the beer? Cold, smooth, and the perfect sidekick, I found a tasty IPA that hit the spot. I mean, pizza and beer is an undefeated combination, how are you gonna argue with that? That's just science, Chicago-style. Rance's delivers like a clutch fourth-quarter drive. Can't wait for my next visit, whenever the pizza gods call me back.

Amazing deep dish, takes 45 minutes so make sure you have appetizers. Warms well for leftovers.

    Jan N.

Great deep dish pizza, we've tried at least 3 separate places and Rances was the best. If taking it home I'd highly recommend reheating it. Taste 8.3/10 Value 7/10

Im a relocated Chicagoan & always on the prowl for some semblence of real Chicago Pizza. Are Owners from Chicagoland? The reviews mention butter crust which is very authentic deep dish crust . Willing to travel from SFV to LBC for authenticity.

Nothing will compare to the original. This is a very good alternative to home and customer focused. I am used to Detroit deep dish and have been to Chicago a few times for pizza. This has been one of the better pizza's we have had west of Las Vegas.

    Do they deliver?

We deliver through postmates, doordash and grubhub.

Do you play the BEARS games?

Yes we Proudly do! Every Bears game will always have sound on. In addition, we will be holding a raffle this season, one entry per game in store only for a chance to win autographed merchandise on the last game of the season. We also have weekly… Read more

    Any vegan options?

I would say no. I just had to look at the menu again myself.

Does this restaurant allow dogs on the patio?

    Yes, pet friendly

    Are dogs allowed?

They absolutely are welcome on the patio.

    Is there a corkage fee?

I believe it was $5 when we went. It was very inexpensive compared to most restaurants.

One thing I noticed immediately was how deceptive the space is from the outside. You walk in thinking you're stepping into a small Italian bistro, and then it just keeps unfolding room after room until you realize you're actually in a large, incredibly lively space. Each room we passed through seemed to gain even more energy. There seemed to be birthday dinners, family gatherings, and just large groups of friends celebrating everywhere, and the whole restaurant had a genuinely festive feel without feeling overly loud or chaotic. Service was fantastic. Our waitress felt less like restaurant service and more like a friend helping the whole table have a good night. Everything flowed really naturally. Timing was great. Drinks stayed full. Plates never piled up, and even little moments that could have felt imperfect somehow just added to the warmth of the experience. We ordered family style for the table and honestly every single thing disappeared. The Burrina pizza and Romana pizza were both excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh and balanced. The lasagna was a hit, and we also ordered a white pasta with fennel sausage that nobody could stop eating. We even had family visiting from Ecuador with us, and everyone cleaned their plates and had a great time. We skipped dessert because we had cake waiting at home, but judging by the number of tiramisus passing by our table, we may have made a tactical error there. The only real challenge is parking. Broadway parking is Broadway parking, and locals already know the situation near the beach can get rough quickly. If you live nearby, I'd honestly recommend Ubering or walking if possible. This immediately went onto my shortlist for large group dinners in Long Beach.

While it was never my personal favorite, I continued going because my wife enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our experience on Sunday, May 3, 2026 definitively closed that chapter. We arrived around 5:45 pm, at a time when the restaurant was clearly not busy. A young gentleman at reception greeted us warmly and was about to seat us, but was abruptly interrupted by a woman who directed us--without explanation--to sit along the wall. We waited there for about 10 minutes, despite a clearly prepared table sitting ready just a few feet away. When we were finally seated, it was at that very table next to the reception desk. Throughout the interaction, the woman showed no courtesy--no smile, no "please," no acknowledgment, and no "thank you for waiting." After years of patronage, this level of indifference was disappointing enough to ensure we won't be returning.

We also got the tagliatelle which made up for the disappointing mafaldine. The pasta was the perfect texture, flavor was amazing, and the fishy shrimp took it to the next level. The included dessert was a panna cotta which was good but nothing to write home about. The interior did not feel like an authentic Italian restaurant and was drab/dry. Typical white/gray interior that takes away the authenticity of a restaurant. Lastly, there were several large flies, which I understand may not the restaurants fault but one did land in my wine which they did quickly replace. I would definitely think twice about coming back here and would only order the brussel sprouts and tagliatelle. Staff was nice and friendly.

I loved the upscale New York atmosphere Our lovely waiter, Scott immediately greeted us. I was so happy we had him. He was so knowledgeable about the menu, the building, making small talk and etc. when I asked what drink he recommended he said they have a full bar, but he did say the espresso martini. I told him that's my go to drink but I can't really do caffeine. So Scott had it made decaf. This was a life saver and it was the first time a waiter ever asked if I wanted it decaf We already knew what we came for. We wanted their tomahawk. This is where my mother and I usually have beef with each other (yes, a steak joke). Because we each want it cooked a different way. But it came out nicely done, we were both happy. Scott definitely knew what to tell the chef about how we wanted it cooked so we were both happy The drinks I ordered came out extremely fast Both drinks were amazing -cosmopolitan -espresso martini (decaf) The- BISTECCA DI TOMAHAWK Which is a Grilled 52 oz Bone In Ribeye Steak, Italian Chimichurri Sauce, Roasted Carrots and Homemade Spaghetti Romana (the pasta it came with was absolutely amazing) And, as far as tomahawks go, this was very reasonable price wise. Also, it came with pasta and carrots. Next brunch visit we definitely plan to try the Dutch Baby Pancake as a shareable! Service is always great and very attentive. The roof top deck has great ambience and a wonderful place for brunch. There's a nice bar with comfy seats and a fun place for a drink. Happy Hour is returning after Father's Day. We loved going there on Sunday afternoons for pizzas and wine. Excellent selection of wines! They are also offering Bubbles and Shells (Sparking Wine and Oysters) on Friday and Saturday nights! Our food today, Michael's Burger with handout fries, N'Daju Toast, and The Benedict. Cocktails today, Ciacco D'oro and a Mimosa. Cappuccino and coffees were great. Cocktails at Michael's are excellent. Definitely one of the best places in Long Beach for a cocktail! Creative and consistent. The burger is the best one in town if you are craving that juicy type of burger, which I was. Done perfectly. I order it rare, they know how to serve it rare! Now served with handout fries instead of chips, still amazing! We finished our meal with a wonderful Gelato, on the house! Mint chip and just amazing! Looking forward to more Brunches and of course happy Hour!

I chose this restaurant for my friend's birthday dinner. It was an excellent Italian restaurant…read moreperfect for celebrations without being overpriced. Right from entering the hotel lobby we were met with a beautiful restaurant that made me feel confident I had chosen the right place. The lighting, the table settings, the decor, all culminated in a beautiful restaurant for a wonderful evening. We had the special spinach ravioli which was divine, and the carbonara (was great but slightly salty). The cocktails were absolutely delicious, i highly recommend the old fashioned and the nettuno spritz! The calamari was fantastic, and the bone marrow was okay and awkward to eat. Our waitress was amazing and provided top-notch service that made my friend feel extra special, especially with a complimentary dessert for her birthday! We didn't expect that and felt extra cared for. Will definitely be back for more special nights or just on occasions where I'm craving a high quality meal and experience.

Disappointed that the upper restaurant was closed on a Monday which led me to nettuno…read more Service was impeccable. Wine recommendation was outstanding. The food was fine. Salmon w broccolini was delicious and was devoured. The calamari appetizer was disappointing as it was flavorless without the spicy tomato sauce and the zucchini were soggy and limp. From a 4 star meal down to 3.5. Servers, bussers, etc. were all prompt but didn't make me feel rushed. Hostess was friendly. Hospitality piece of the experience was flawless. Ambiance is cozy, upscale and classy. Dimly lit with plenty of space between tables for privacy. Saw a couple celebrating their anniversary here along with business travelers dining during their stay. Would dinner again but the upper restaurant will remain my first choice.

I took a pasta-making class here for the first time and had such a great experience…read more The class walks you through making two different types of dough (semola and 00 flour), and we ended up shaping them into several different pastas like cavatelli, orecchiette, strozzapreti, capunti, and pappardelle. It was definitely more labor-intensive than it looks, but also really fun and rewarding. At the end, you get to enjoy what you made with their house sauces and even take the rest home, which made it feel like a full experience rather than just a class. Shoutout to Victoria for being such a thorough and passionate instructor -- she explained everything clearly and made the process feel approachable, even for beginners. Overall, a really fun and memorable activity. Perfect for a date night, group outing, or just trying something new without having to travel far.

I would give the food 4 stars but bumped it up to 5 because of the customer service. I'm not…read morecertain if he is the owner or the manager, but someone walked around asking each table how they're doing, and stopped and welcomed me for my first time eating there. That was very much appreciated. This is a fun casual spot in 2nd and PCH shopping center, so you get 90 minutes of parking free here. You order at the counter, and they bring you the food pretty quickly after. You can eat inside or outside, both are lovely options. You basically pick your pasta type and sauce, so it's kind of a create-your-own-dish. They also have weekly specials and a few other specialty dishes on the menu. I will say, the lasagna looks to be the dish to get. The person next to me ordered it and the dish was massive. Looked delicious! I got the pappardelle bolognese. Pappardelle is my favorite type of noodle, and they make a great pappardelle here! Perfectly toothy. The noodles themselves were 9/10. The bolognese didn't have the deepest flavor I've ever tried, but it was solid. I loved the beautiful plate that my pasta was served in. I would definitely come back here. It's great to "make your own dish". It's a fun spot right along the water as well.
