This place was poppin! It's been a while since I've eaten at a place near Chinatown but this cafe faces a nearby park so the outdoor tables and chairs had a nice relaxed vibe to it, especially on a warm day. The service, smiles and cheer were excellent! It made me want to come back and bring friends without even trying their coffee or food yet.. but luckily the coffee was great as were the baked goods. Good flaky texture, not too sweet and warmed up would have been even better. Felt so welcome and loved seeing so many people, cultures and ages visit and hang out here!

I came here to get a pick me up treat in the form of a flat white and a baked good (a hojicha danish with malted milk whip). The coffee was on point and had no complaints about it. The hojicha danish was quite delicious but I wasn't expecting it to cost so much (I think it was around $8) - probably should have asked first since the price wasn't listed They did have lots of other baked goods which were in the range that I would expect ($5-$7). I loved the cozy vibe inside this cute little cafe although they don't have a ton of seating and it can get cramped in there at times, in particular on the weekend.

This new spot is SO cute and defs a new gem in the chinatown neighbourhood. The owner is Annebelle herself and she's so nice and so quirky! I had the pleasure of meeting her and she was so friendly and fun. You can see how much love she's poured into this place. The interior is so fun, colourful and has a ton of unique touches that make it so special. The menu is on a mirror! which is so cute. There's plenty of seating outside for a nice little patio moment on the corner of columbia and quebec. on a sunny day, it's perfect. Now the coffee was delicious and high quality! i got an iced latte for $5.25. the prices are GOOD. my friend got the iced matcha and also loved it. For our sweet treat, we got the chocolate walnut cookie and the bear claw croissant. 10/10 recommend this place. the vibes are sweet and so are the offerings!

Can I just say WOW!! The coffee?? Amazing. They know how to make a proper cortado and the espresso quality is divine. I got the feature latte with steamed cream, dulce de leche and espresso - lovely. The baked goods are extensive and AMAZING! The miso dark chocolate cookie was the best. Service was so kind, so helpful so lovely. Cutest vibe, hole in the wall cozy!

Wonderful quaint environment, very friendly staff and delightful food. One of the best cafes I've been to in a while.

The orders came out quickly after we put them in. My waffle wasn't that sweet and had a nice chewy texture and crisp exterior. Every bite was filled with the black sesame tangyuan. My friends also enjoyed their respective waffles, which had a great texture. The nice thing about this spot is that they have a ton of different flavors for savory and sweet waffles (e.g. bacon and cheese, chocolate, chestnut, egg tart, etc). There really is something for everyone. The area itself is in a small "mall", sort of like an Auntie Anne's stand at the mall. There is a parking lot and street parking nearby it. I'd recommend this spot for egg waffles if you are in Vancouver.

I visited this location today and was quite disappointed with my experience…read more I've also been to this restaurant's Richmond location, where the bubble waffles are consistently delicious and made with what feels like quality ingredients. Unfortunately, my experience at the Vancouver location was very different. The bubble waffle I received here seemed to be made with much less batter. The outer shell was very thin, and the inside of each bubble was almost completely hollow, making it feel like there was much less substance compared to what I've enjoyed at the Richmond location. While the price is still reasonable, the quality did not meet the standard I expected from the same brand. As a result, I don't think I'll be returning to this particular location. Of course, everyone is free to make their own decision, and others may have a different experience than I did. I simply wanted to share my honest feedback so that other customers know what to expect. I don't write this review to criticize the business unfairly, but as a customer, I believe it's important to share both positive and negative experiences. I hope the Vancouver location can improve its consistency so that it matches the quality of the Richmond store.

Procesco is in the majority of their cocktails! Then we ordered 2 Pinot Noirs - they came back with they had run out of Pinot Noir! The excuse was that the order had not arrived. Having worked in hospitality, when an order is not filled, you go elsewhere as either a temporary fix or change your supplier. Also stocks should never get to the point of running out of so much. 2 visits and 3 items they did not have. Something is gravely wrong with the running of this restaurant! The manager initially said we couldnt have the seat we wanted as he said he was waiting on a meeting. He moved to another table and while he was looking at his telephone, no one turned up for a meeting, nor did he have a conversation with anyone while we were there. The staff were lovely and appeared to be rushed off their feet, while he sat there playing on his phone. What an extreme disappointment.

Paul Bakery is a dual entity since they have quick dining service and they have a full service "restaurant area". I really appreciated how early their doors open since we needed to go about our day bright and early. We were probably the third customers there and it was super mellow; however, by the time we left though, it was quite popular! Opted to sit down and work on my laptop while getting a bite and it was such a pleasant moment. Staff was friendly and those pastries looked so good. I had opted for their french toast and was in awe and just how easy it was to slice through. Literally felt like a warm knife passing through butter. The music was lively but not overwhelming. Had the chance to be there for about 75-120 minutes and it was all so pleasant. Highly recommend!

Since my mother cannot eat overly sweet desserts, I only planned to buy one single macaron for myself. Throughout ordering, I smiled and spoke polite, proper English without any disruptive behaviour. One female staff member asked "only one?" twice in an exaggerated, mocking tone after I confirmed my small purchase. During checkout, two female staff exchanged eye contact and snickered quietly at us. Right after I pushed open the entrance door and was still halfway out of the shop, they burst into obvious, loud laughter directed at me and my mother. When I calmly asked what they were laughing about, they stared at me and kept jeering without a single word of explanation. These macarons are sold at a very high premium price in downtown Vancouver. If the shop required a minimum spending amount, clear notices should have been posted in advance. Without any posted purchase rules, every customer deserves the freedom to pick any number of items they want, rather than facing open ridicule from employees. I cannot stop wondering whether visitors of other ethnic backgrounds buying just one macaron would receive this same cold, mocking treatment. This upsetting encounter ruined the mood of both my mother and me entirely. Vancouver is famous for multicultural friendliness and inclusive hospitality. It is truly disappointing that a world-famous premium French pastry brand allows such unkind, judgemental service toward guests here. I have submitted a formal complaint to Ladurée global headquarters and attached storefront photos as proof for this review. Travellers and local residents should think twice before visiting this location.

It was a huge hit with everyone! The 6 inch cake was $69 and I added a customized birthday message on chocolate for an extra $3 which was a nice personal touch. Gary's only allows to order the fresh mango cakes up to one week ahead to ensure they have enough ripe mangos, which I admire their dedication. We ordered the 6 inch cake for 9 people (7 adults and 2 kids) and everyone got a thin to average slice. The cake is definitely prettier than the other fresh mango cakes on the market, has a lot more mangos that are perfectly ripe and sweet, there is less wipped cream, and the sponge cake is softer. The family agreed that Gary's has the best fresh mango cake but at $69 for a 6 inch cake, versus $43 for a 6 inch mango cake from Saint Germaine, a cake from Gary's is definitely a treat and for special occasions. Is Gary's worth the premium price? I think so but not everyone in my family agreed. One thing to note: Gary's do offer cake in a jar that's $8.50 each. When we went, they had a BOGO deal with the mango cake jars. My nephew asked my sister to buy the BOGO deal knowing that the 6 inch cake was not going to be enough, as the kids like having a second slice of cake.
