My friends and I stopped by here to grab some egg waffles. I got the black sesame rice ball (tangyuan) for 8 CAD while my friends got the chestnut and egg tart ones. The orders came out quickly after we put them in. My waffle wasn't that sweet and had a nice chewy texture and crisp exterior. Every bite was filled with the black sesame tangyuan. My friends also enjoyed their respective waffles, which had a great texture. The nice thing about this spot is that they have a ton of different flavors for savory and sweet waffles (e.g. bacon and cheese, chocolate, chestnut, egg tart, etc). There really is something for everyone. The area itself is in a small "mall", sort of like an Auntie Anne's stand at the mall. There is a parking lot and street parking nearby it. I'd recommend this spot for egg waffles if you are in Vancouver. read more

I visited this location today and was quite disappointed with my experience. I've also been to this restaurant's Richmond location, where the bubble waffles are consistently delicious and made with what feels like quality ingredients. Unfortunately, my experience at the Vancouver location was very different. The bubble waffle I received here seemed to be made with much less batter. The outer shell was very thin, and the inside of each bubble was almost completely hollow, making it feel like there was much less substance compared to what I've enjoyed at the Richmond location. While the price is still reasonable, the quality did not meet the standard I expected from the same brand. As a result, I don't think I'll be returning to this particular location. Of course, everyone is free to make their own decision, and others may have a different experience than I did. I simply wanted to share my honest feedback so that other customers know what to expect. I don't write this review to criticize the business unfairly, but as a customer, I believe it's important to share both positive and negative experiences. One of the go-to spots in DT Vancouver and in Richmond not just for their tasty waffles but their drinks too. While it's small and quite unassuming, it's a place you don't want to miss if you're in the mood for dessert. As some have mentioned, their Portuguese egg waffles are da bomb and a must-try. I've also had their salted egg and black sesame ones which are also very good. The one thing that people do not mention much are their drinks. Their standard Hong Kong hot milk tea is rich and creamy. For something very different, I would recommend that you try their iced Ribena sparkling coffee. It sounds weird (black currant juice plus coffee and sparkling water) but the combination of flavors and soda just works so well. Who would have guessed? Depending on the time you go, the wait time can be 10-20 minutes as the bubble waffles are made to order and sometimes it gets busy. However, I think the wait is worth it :) read more

It's been a while since I last had egg waffles. I've been craving them recently. I was excited to try this spot when I saw it was near where I'm staying. Upon entry, I saw the staff was very busy, making four waffles at a time while also managing the cash register. I got the Portuguese egg tart flavor and waited about 5 minutes. It's definitely a popular spot, as people were constantly coming and going while I waited. I really enjoyed the egg waffles. They felt nostalgic, like the ones I had in Hong Kong. I just wish they had been cooked a bit longer for more crispness as the custard in the center could use more texture to balance it out. I have been meaning to go to Eggette House to try their waffles and I had no idea that they operated a location in Robson! (I only knew about the Richmond location). Once you step in to the store, the smell of waffles instantly hits you. It was quite busy when I visited but the wait was not too bad. The work station does seem chaotic as there was batter everywhere, timers going off, constant flipping (it reminded me of a night market stall)! I got the Portuguese egg tart flavor and the custard inside was nice and gooey. It's definitely a big dessert so I'd recommend sharing with a friend. read more

I love a bubble waffle, and the staff here was really really friendly. We got the black sesame waffle to share and the black sesame mixed with their kind of sweet batter helped balance out the sweetness and it was delicious and chewy and also perfectly crispy. This is a very small storefront on a very busy street in downtown among the very bougie shops. They have all sorts of other flavors, but I only tried the back sesame but honestly, I will think about this waffle a lot. We stumbled upon Eggette House on Robson while walking by and were drawn in by the adorable chickie logo and wow, what a lucky find! It ended up being the best thing we ate in Vancouver. We decided to share the Portuguese egg tart bubble waffle, and it was incredibly satisfying. It was warm, crispy on the outside, chewy inside, and each bubble was filled with rich, gooey custard. Absolute perfection! Honestly, it even topped any bubble waffle I've had in Hong Kong. I passed by this place many times but never entered to tried it. It's located on Robson Street with easy access. The place is open until 10 pm giving you a good opportunity to grab a late night snack or a great dessert after dinner with friends or by yourself. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and make the waffle in front of you. I usually purchase the original egg waffle but I finally decided to try one of the variations of egg waffle (mochi black sesame) after seeing it's advertisement on social media. Awesome new egg waffle place on Robson. Really good prices and great quality. We ordered the salted egg yolk with pork floss, Portuguese egg tart, seaweed with corn, and chestnut. All of them were great, except the chestnut was meh and couldn't really taste it. Very crispy. The flavour of the Portuguese egg tart in particular was really good - creamy as it should be, just my favorite when warm. The salted egg yolk not as strong but still good flavour. Eggette House is my favourite shop to get authentic Hong Kong bubble waffles. I used to frequent the one in Richmond, but now I am a regular at their Robson location. I would say that their bubble waffles are definitely on the heftier side, and are of great value. However, if you are used to the light and airy waffles, you'll find that bubble waffles are a lot chewier and more filling, so it's probably best to share. My favourite is the Portuguese egg tart flavour, which is very indulgent and can probably be split between three people. I also like getting their sesame flavour when I want something a bit less sweet. read more

Deciding between the chestnut and sesame eggette and they explained the chestcut has real small chestcut pieces and might be slightly sweeter than the sesame eggette given the natural sweetness from the chestnut. So dang delicious!!! This is such a convenient location in the shopping district. About a 15 min walk from BC Place but well worth it. The employee was friendly and though these take time to cook, they were pretty efficient with orders. I ordered the banana eggette and Portuguese tart eggette. I didn't look clearly to see that the banana chocolate chip was one of their signature flavors otherwise I would have gotten that. Overall the Portuguese tart was my favorite. i stopped by eggette house during their grand opening around 2:00 pm on a tuesday, and was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't much of a line. there were five servers behind the counter, but only two customers in front of me waiting for their orders, so it was pretty chill. this is their second location, now at the corner of robson and bute, where machi machi used to be. their menu has a mix of sweet and savoury options, from the classic bubble waffles to the more adventurous flavours like durian cheese, salted egg yolk with cheese, portuguese egg tart, black sesame, and bacon and cheese. i decided to grab their dalgona coffee and an original bubble waffle, for $1, as part of their grand opening promo with any purchase. the dalgona coffee was a bit of a letdown, though. it sat for a bit while they made the bubble waffle, which took around ten minutes, so it wasn't as fresh as i'd hoped. the coffee was sweet with a hint of bitterness, but i was expecting it to be richer and creamier, so it didn't really hit the spot. as for the bubble waffle, it's a classic hong kong street food. they're made with a batter similar to regular waffles, but they're cooked in a special iron that gives them a pattern of small, round "balls" instead of the usual squares. this gives them that bubbly egg look. the texture is crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside, but these ones were a bit heavier than i preferred, and i couldn't finish the whole thing. overall, it was cool to check out this new spot on robson and bute. the bubble waffles are always fun, especially if you're out shopping, but i think it'd be better if everything was super fresh. next time, i'll try some of the other filling flavours of bubble waffle and bring a friend to share. read more

The waffles are soft on the inside, lightly crispy on the outside, and not overly sweet -- just the way I like them! The banana chocolate chip combo was surprisingly good and super comforting. Also tried their House Special Milk Tea -- creamy and smooth, and the pink heart lid plug was such a cute touch! Portions are great, prices are affordable (starting around $5.25 for waffles and $4.75 for drinks), and the staff were friendly too. Whilst on vacation in Vancouver, it was late night after dinner and we went to this place for dessert. The Egette House provides a crepe-like snack with egg-looking things that you can chip off and eat one by one. There is also tea. Alongside the nice cooks, the process of making the food was amazing. (You can see in the video below.) The food was also the biggest highlight, and there were many flavors to choose from such as Oreo, Chocolate, and Banana. We got the chocolate and banana mix and it had the perfect amount of chocolate, and the perfect amount of banana. It comes out super hot, and it tastes good while it is. The interior has a couple tables and chairs, and it goes with a simple design. There are also cute cat plushies for sale. Overall, The Egette House is an amazing dessert place inside the city of Vancouver. read more
