Every time I've come here, it's been a positive experience. The staff has been friendly and the food is good. We've had the pizza, calamari, mussels, chicken parm, shrimp scampi, and lasagna. I do think the pasta dishes could afford a recipe modification. The white sauce dishes are very butter-heavy and the tomato sauces are good, but way more sweet than flavorful. They also need to improve the spacing in the restaurant, as it is a super small, crowded eating area. read more

I used to love coming here as a kid and I was very excited to try Anna's Pizzeria as an adult. However, my experience wasn't the best, and I'm not sure if it's worth coming back. I ordered mozzarella sticks and spaghetti & meatballs and both were just okay. There was really nothing special about the food except the meatballs were good. Our waitress was incredibly slow even though there were only 2 parties in the restaurant including myself and it was very frustrating. Overall I didn't have the best time and since this is a 20 minute drive from me it's unlikely I'll be back, but maybe if I'm in the area again. read more

Had Anna's Pizza again for the first time in about 8 years. The pizza is still really good! The buffalo chicken pizza is a fave of ours. The service was pretty good and the staff were friendly. It looks like a classic pizza shop. It was a little after the lunch rush so still needed to be cleaned up a bit (tables and floors). My main critique would be the limited single slice options during lunch time. We came for the Buffalo chicken pizza but there was one slice and they weren't making more. We split that one they had and I got the meat lovers as my other slice. If you have time, a full pie would let you get what you want. Overall a good experience. read more

We ordered our calzone with "double pepp", the house cab, slice, and a caprese salad. We enjoyed sitting at the bar near the front window, watching sports, and chatting with the staff. Comfy corner pizzeria in Apex won't disappoint! Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by Jimmy, the manager. He served me, too. On this visit, I ordered a calzone and modified it into a panzarotti. #iykyk Pergect cook, no burnt spots on bottom, nicely filled, melted and cheesy, and sooo tasty. My first time here, came after the lunch rush so plenty of seats. All tables, no booths here. Nice atmosphere, all of the tables were clean and cleaned quickly when guests leave. They have a few lunch specials but we opted for menu items. Service was very good, attentive and food came out quickly and hot! We got a meatball sandwich and lasagna. Lots of good cheese on both dishes. Both were very good and reasonably priced. For dessert we shared a cannoli that was very good and had a beautiful presentation. So glad I tried this nice place. We decided to try this pizzeria on the corner of downtown due to always seeing such a long line when we pass by. It's a pretty standard mom and pop pizza joint that echoes sentiments of NY style. Similar to many facilities in apex, this restaurant boasts of being situated in the peak of good living. There were no clean tables when we entered and we were asked to sit at a dirty table while the waiter cleaned it as we sat. He seemed to be the only wait staff in the joint so he had his work cut out for him. The food was decent. My gluten free friend appreciated their GF crust option. The panini was more of a sandwich but still it was good. The panini didn't come with any sides or a salad so that is a little disappointing for the price. We waited a while to be given a menu or drink and even longer for the food and even longer for the check. But again there was only one man waiting tables. Would I recommend this place? Yea it wouldn't be bad if you're looking to stop in somewhere for a slice of pizza. However, be aware you may be waiting for a while. read more

I've been there several times. The food is OK but typically the service is lacking. It's like the people working there don't want to be working there. Asking for something simple, like a refill of your drink gets met with a scowl and takes forever. I'm not sure what the problem is. Has some of the best food at downtown apex. The server that I had was EXTREMELY nice every time I went there and he had given me 2 slices for the price of one and free drinks!!!!! I absolutely love this restaurant. Their food is absolutely amazing and you must get the stubbed eggplant with that amazing sauce! Their pizza is thin and crispy and the sauce is absolutely delicious. Remember to keep in mind their portions are huge! You will always have some extra to bring home. I came here for a quick bite with the kids.  We ordered a few premade slices, hoping that it'd be a quick reheat in the oven but the pizza took a lot longer to come out than I had hoped, more in line with a entrée made to order.  Service was a bit spotty as well and the price per slice of pizza with tips and taxes was quite high.  However, the most important thing was that the pizza tasted good, and this turned out to be quite decent.  Each slice had a generous amount of toppings, and the base was sturdy enough to hold it all, although the pizza was a bit dry, having been reheated. Didn't want to write this being a regular customer ( not any longer). However I order two pies the other night and the order was wrong. Sadly I didn't notice their mistake until I had gotten home ( 30 min ride). When I called the store and spoke with Felipe, who said he was the GM, he all but said it was my fault the order was wrong. Because the person who took the order verified the order with me twice ( which is true) however they made the pie wrong, and when confronted he wouldn't even acknowledge the fact they had made an error. Probably the worst pizza we've had. The pizza was so soggy and as you can see in the pics, the paper was stuck to the base. All veggies were raw and uncooked. Every bite was unappetizing. Don't recommend pizza from this place. In addition to the horrible pizza, their garlic "bread" is basically a subway bun cut into quarters with garlic powder or some herbs sprinkled on it. We didn't taste the garlic and the bread was dry. Chicken wings were average. It was also dry, when typically wings should be juicy. As a New Jerseyan, I feel confident in saying that this pizzeria would compete with any pizzeria in the state with the best pizza. We've been ordering here regularly since we've moved into the area. The pizza here is delicious and the crust is amazing. Anna's special is definitely my go to and the the Margherita pizza is my wife's go to. Sometimes, we'll order the white pizza as well. The Caesar salad was good and it came with a generous serving of croutons and anchovies. The Spinach Salad with honey mustard was scrumptious and fresh, and the almonds were a great addition. My favorite appetizer is the mussels, and the eggplant roll is a close second. If you're looking for pizza, this is the place to go. read more

The food at this place is really good but everything else is done poorly. It's weird because it's set up like a small, buy by the slice, pizza place. The problem is, it's a restaurant with a large menu. The place is too small, and the kitchen is too small. They need more space and to upgrade all the equipment. The food took way too long to come out because they aren't equipped to be a restaurant. They serve large portions but give you a tiny fork to eat with. I ordered wine and the server had to take it to the kitchen for someone to open it. Not because she did anything wrong, but because the wine opener was a tiny piece of cheap crap. Publix has better wine openers. I would eat here again because the food was good but I would only eat take out. Quality food at good prices but, bad kitchen and place to sit down and eat. read more

Anna's delivers! You don't have to go through a delivery service. They do it themselves, but you have to be within a four-mile radius of the restaurant. I was participating in a virtual Yelp event on a Friday evening, so I ordered a pizza. Their large margherita was big enough for at least four servings, and we loved the fresh basil in the sauce. The thin crust was obviously homemade, and it was loaded with fresh mozzarella. I've only had pizzas at Anna's, but their menu has tons of pastas, sandwiches and salads, too. read more

Service - Once we walked in, there was no greeting, not even a 'hello, please seat yourself' so after standing there for a few minutes we just sat ourselves. Someone did come over right away to give us menus and we ordered drinks then ordered our meal when he brought our drinks. Thirty minutes later we finally got our food and no one came by again until we asked for our check. We did notice the take out service moved pretty quickly though. Food - Garlic knots, water and wine were the best part of the meal. I had the rigatoni rustica which was ok despite the frozen sliced chicken pieces and my husband had the eggplant parm with baked ziti. The eggplant clearly had been frozen as you could still see the dried breadcrumbs on the underside of each slice. More than 1/2 of the entree was left at the table uneaten. I walked into the restaurant, and the busser asked how many in my party. I told him it was a party of two and that we'd like to sit outside. He said, "Oh, okay. Go ahead and grab any seat you want, and we'll be right out with menus and everything." After waiting for about 25 minutes with no menus, no service--nothing--I decided to go back inside to let an employee know we had been sitting outside and hadn't been helped. His response was, "I'll be right out there." I waited another five minutes, then walked back inside--this time through the back door--where I spoke to the cooks in Spanish, asking how the restaurant operates. I asked if I needed to talk to them to get service or if a server was supposed to help us. They called the manager, who just stared me down before asking who I was. I responded, "Someone trying to be a customer." I explained that I had to ask the cooks if I could eat there because the front-of-house service clearly didn't care. Fast forward--the manager eventually brought the food out, but only after making me feel like I was in the wrong for going to the back and speaking to the cooks. He then offered to cover the bill, but I refused. I pushed the food back and got up to pay, and I still paid. Unfortunately, the service was terrible, and I won't be going back. I'll also be recommending Namoli`s instead--it has way better service and a much better experience overall. read more

Delicious red sauce! I had meatballs with mozzarella cheese - very yummy. Meatballs can make or break an Italian restaurant for me and this place makes it - the meat was tasty and flavorful without any sponginess. The sauce is on the sweeter side but not too sweet. I also had a Greek salad with their House Italian dressing - crisp veggies with cubed Feta cheese - loved it. The owner is from Brooklyn, NY - it shows! i simply love anna's!!! i've graduated from college now, but i remember coming to this spot all the time when i was in middle and high school. my favorite menu item at that time was the baked ziti pizza, which is unfortunately no longer on their menu. (bring it back!!) the familiar craving for anna's hit me a couple of days ago, so i decided since i'm fully vaxxed it was safe for me to dine in. luckily, they've blocked part of the street to set up some fantastic outdoor dining, and the weather was perfect, so i ate outside! i split a greek salad, vegetable pizza, and baked ziti with my mom on a sunday night. the portions were large and the service was amazing and quick. the baked ziti especially was delicious, just as good as i remember it from 8 years ago when i was nearly a regular. i needed boxes for everything, and the leftovers were just as good the next day! one of my favorite spots in the area :) read more

Very cute place in downtown Apex with a great environment and friendly staff. Just super hit or miss with food. Sometimes the pizza is great with amazing crust, sauce, and ratio of toppings. But many times it just comes out extremely sloppily made, soggy, and just not good at all, like tonight when my pizza had an excessive amount of cheese and undercooked crust. Like I said, sometimes it's sublime but sometimes it's very meh. One thing tho is that it will always take liner than you expect. I've never had a super timely experience, it's not excessively long but when dining in or doing takeout it's never been on time, always a bit of a wait. Would recommend to try and make your own judgement but just be aware. read more
