An absolute joke ....was told an hour for a pie and a soda. Called after an hour and 20 to be told it's on the road. Called again at the 1 hour and 45 minute mark to be told it's STILL on the road. Pie finally shows up 2 hours later colder than colder! I refused it. I understand it's New Years Eve but that is no excuse for a 2 hour wait for literally less than 10 minutes away! A really excellent pie is served here. A little sloppy for takeout, but manageable after the first few bites... fold in half and enjoy. And at $2 a pop for a cheese slice, who's gonna argue about a little slop? Dare I say the best part is the sauce? I don't know what they use or where they get it from, but it's an incredibly sweet variety, which tastes really excellent with the salty and melty cheese. Just know that Anna's is strictly takeout; there's little more than a front door, a counter, and a kitchen here. What with the cold weather, I was forced to enjoy my slice in the car. Wow!!!! We tried their pizza for the first time tonight and it was PERFECT New haven style pizza! I am so impressed and so shocked that there aren't tons Of raving reviews on this place. It was good, but not good enough for me to make them my go-to pizza place. I got Anna's Own Apizza (which, considering it's sausage, peppers, onions, bacon, and ricotta, it was oddly lacking flavor). My wife got the bourbon burger. When I called the order in, I wasn't asked how I wanted the burger cooked, so I guess they just assumed I wanted it medium well (which I didn't). At any rate, I think her burger was better than my pizza. Oh, something else I almost forgot, I ordered a soda and was given a WARM two-liter. Restaurants don't sell WARM soda. I've never been delivered WARM soda. Dumb. read more

Seriously, a pretty good pizza. We tried one the other day for the first time and I would definitely return. Be advised its take out only. the pizza heats up remarkably well.... We asked not to have the pizza cut so its not so messy to slide it onto a screen and toss in the oven, and it turns out great.....once it's heated we just cut it with our pizza cutter.We ordered the margherita , which was good, even though I found the fresh sliced tomatoes distracting ,as they seemed to compete with the sauce... not a big deal, but i would probably ask to have them omitted the next time.The cheese was very good , not rubbery or overly salted. Overall a nice pizza and a great option for when were running late and don't want to deal with cooking dinner. read more

Seriously, is it that hard to get things right? We ordered a Greek salad....no kalamata olives???? Says it on the menu!! Yes just lettuce, onion, tomatoes, and feta? Cold margherita pizza. Very bad business to conduct. It is already hard enough to find good food in town, hence the reason more times than not we go to surrounding towns. We will eat pretty much anything....but please! We have visited Anna's Prospect Pizza a few times. The pizza is good and tasty. However, the service is a bit, how would you say it, well snooty, the 2 times I have gone to Anna's, I felt as if I was making the employees/owner go out of their way by placing my order. The last time I ordered a few pies from Anna's, over $40 worth, I asked for a small cup of grated cheese to take with me. The employee looked baffled and then asked the owner about it. When the employee asked the owner, he stated that it was $1.00 extra. Are you kidding? I just spend over $40 on pizzas and they charge me $1.00 for extra grated cheese. Now by extra cheese, I mean a small cup that equals to about 3 tablespoons of grated cheese. I politely said never mind and went to the grocery store down the street and bought a large shaker of grated cheese for $2.99. Final verdict: Good pizza but not great and the service is poor. I don't expect to feel like I am putting a business out of their way by placing an order! There are a lot more pizza places with equally good pizza and they treat me, the customer, right! So take a look at some other nearby pizza joints first. read more

As of just a yr + ago I would have given more stars. In fact. 3 yrs ago I gave them 5 stars on google reviews & would recommend them to anyone asking me for pizza. I am a former NYer so I think I have good taste buds for pizza. I was impressed & excited to have a local kick ass pizza place in my new living area. Unfortunately lately something changed. The cook? The order of supplies? Something has gone awry. Very awry. I want my old Anna's back. I used to order every wk. but not anymore. I even called to tell them I wasn't happy (AND I never do that!) and the waitress yells to the cook who wouldn't even take the call. Leaving the waitress to say "uhhhh ummm okay". It's too bad... I only took the time to call because I cared. I guess more then they do now. I hope they read this and get back to quality. read more

Most of their food is excellent. The chicken sandwiches are sometimes dry. The pizza is top notch. Their customer service is top notch whether picking up or getting delivery. Very solid choice in Prospect. read more

Anna's or prospect pizza does a great job of trying to make pizza in the New Haven Wooster street style. Thin crust Italian style. Very good. Best in the area. Also fills the box with a semi square shaped pizza. I recommend highly. read more

Very blah. I tried this place out because of a mailer I received. We usually get Mendano's (since gone out of business) in Naugatuck for New Haven style pizza so we thought we'd compare the two. The sauce was very sweet like a marinara. I prefer a traditional tomato sauce. The crust was decent, but overall the pizza was overcooked and quite average. Dining area is very small. Honestly, the sweet sauce they use kills it. Otherwise, I'd give this place 4 stars. read more

I'm very picky about my pizza, grew up on traditional New Haven pizza, but I love Anna's pizza! Tried several pizza places in the area and yuck, then we found Anna's, it's become Sunday must for two years. The owner takes pride in his food and wants every pie to be great. Another review said food was hit n miss, I can say that in two years we've had only a couple pies that were not quite perfect, but still very good compared to other places. Wings are very good too. Anna's was better before they won some award for the best pizza. After that they quality and customer service went down hill. I received a coupon in the mail for a buy 1 large cheese get a second large for free. I called 2 hours after the mail came, told them I had the coupon and ordered 2 large pizzas. When I went to get them, they charged me for the second pizza. I was told that the price of cheese had gone up since I got the coupon and they could not honor the coupon. I asked them how the price of cheese went up in 2 hours, paid for 1 pizza and left the other one on the counter for them to sell to the next guy. I recently moved from New Haven and always had to drive back their to get New Haven Style pizza. Until now, I discovered a little place called Anna's. the pizza is Authentic New Haven Style pizza, I know my pizza and actually have a degree in the culinary arts. When I tasted their pizza Could tell the the cheese sauce and crust were not cheap. I have tried the other 4 pizza places in Prospect and found their pizza's bland and cheap tasting.
