I am not a fan. I know what fresh is and the few thing we bought there were NOT fresh. Yes - they have somethings that are fresh but a lot that is not. for example - you cannot get a bad and pick your own oysters. most people clack them tougher to hear that rock sound and inspect them. you cannot do that at this place. they put them in the bag for you. I asked to do this myself but was not allowed to do that. as they were putting them in the bag - I had to tell them the oyster was dead and opened. then I had to ask them repeatedly to make sure they were good by at least a sound check. the few I got were all questionable. When you have to smell and inspect everyone one - you are buying them at the wrong place. this tells me what the rest of their food is like. if you to to Tomales Bay or Hog Island Oysters - there is ZERO question as to the quality you are getting. Not only that - open anyone of them and see it filled with freshness. there is ZERO question with any of the ones you buy there - ZERO! We bought 16 oysters from Anna's. We tossed 6. the rest were all questionable. I am not a fan of this place at all. if you ask what the best fish for anything is - they point you to their most expensive fish. this place needs to wake up. I will not go back. if you are looking for crab or oysters - got to bodega for crab and anywhere there for oysters - it's only a 25 minute drive and you know what you are getting. Based on what we got there - I just cannot trust the rest of their fish. honesty and freshness are a must in these modern times. read more

They stayed open for me until I could get here after work. Bought two of the largest, freshest live lobsters I've ever had. For a fish market, the smell was pleasant and the area was clean. What a lovely business. I had always thought Santa Rosa Seafood was the only place in the area with sushi grade fish. I'm going to try Anna's next time we do sushi night. read more

I am concerned about this firm's sanitary practices. They advertise that their fish is sushi grade. I'm not so sure. This morning they were out of prepackaged octopus, so I asked one of their workers to bag a whole octopus for me. He put down a bin he was carrying, and with unwashed bare hands, he grabbed a raw octopus out of a tub of ice water and attempted to stick it in a bag. I stopped him, thought about it a moment, and put back four pounds of salmon I was holding. I've been eating their fish raw for some time now. No more. read more

When their fish is fresh, it is excellent, but buyer beware, I've taken home fish that was not very fresh. Hard to tell with it's in a ziplock bag. I've gotten fish home that definitely did not smell clean and fresh. I would recommend you smell the fish before buying. Just had to cut off about 1/2 pound of smelly petrale sole. There were a lot of discolored pieces that I didn't see until I got home. read more

Large selection and is a bit pricey. Not happy that the price sheet showed small Uni for $15 but they charged me $20. The uni are already in a small box and $15 is already a bit expensive but to charge $5 higher than price sheet is just not right. read more

Consistently fresh and delicious! We get fresh fish and smoked Alaskan king salmon every week at the Tuesday PETALUMA farmers market. On weekends we have gone to the store and picked up live crabs! Very active crabs and very tasty after their hot tub! read more

What can I say? Words can't describe this business. It is a family business owned and operated by a very young, capable and ambitious woman. She has been a fishmonger her entire life and truly loves fish and all that goes with it. Anna has created a business that serves to please on every level of customer satisfaction. The highest quality and freshest fish and the unusual variety she makes available to the public is truly a blessing for all of her customers. From her fresh fish and crab and oysters, to her prepared foods of poke, cranberry tuna salad, wasabi tuna salad, seafood cioppino, clam chowder, spreads, lox, you name it, it is all delicious. I was very excited to hear about Anna's as I LOVE seafood and there is not a lot of places to get FRESH fish around here. I was so happy to see all the variety when I arrived and it all look very fresh, BUT customer service???? There was no such thing. Might as well been invisible I was there with 2 friends and when we walked in, no one approached us, asked us if we needed help or if we had any questions. There was one lady at the register who offered no assistance just stood there waiting until it was time to collect our money. I walked out with a container of poke as did my friends that were with me. We all wanted so much more but we had questions and really didn't feel like they wanted our business so c'est la vie, no fish dinner for me tonight. I am hoping they were just short handed today and this is not the norm. I will give it another chance to hopefully improve on my 2 star review which is a 5 for selection and quality and a 1 for customer service. P.S. The poke was fabulous!!! read more

Always high quality fish, but I just got their pastrami cured smoked salmon and it's amazing. Not sure if it's my favorite pastrami or my favorite Smoked salmon. Ana's House made hot smoked salmon is great, but pastrami lox is over the top. read more

Highest quality and freshest seafood in town!

The best salmon! It's so buttery and fresh. If you are making sushi go get Anna's! It is pretty pricey at $25/lb. My only complaint is every time I go to the Wearhouse it's not open? I can't seem to find hours or details on in. Unfortunately I have to wait for the Tuesday's farmers market and that's only the weeks I'm off on Tuesday's. I discovered Anna's Seafood purely by chance at Marin Country Mart's farmers market one Saturday morning in Larkspur-and I have been returning nearly every Saturday since! (They are there every Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.) This is hands-down the finest seafood selection that I've come across since moving to West Marin last December. I discover something new and exotic every time-things I can't find at the grocery store in town: large head-on prawns, yellowtail, scorpion fish, salmon roe, monkfish tails, lobsters, Dungeness crabs, oysters, clams, mussels, scallops on the half-shell, calamari steaks, baby octopus, John Dory, sea urchin, and more. Everything is absolutely fresh and pristine! Don't miss out on their prepared foods offerings. I highly recommend their hot-smoked salmon, which usually comes right off the smoker on a big tray. It's a succulent and flaky creation that can be eaten as an entree-literally melts in your mouth. Their whitefish salad is also a must! It makes for a luxurious late breakfast, slathered on a toasted English muffin with salmon roe. Also, don't miss their deliciously meaty crab cakes. Most importantly, you can tell that this is a business that is run on integrity. The dynamic amongst the employees is one you'd find in a big happy family. Gotta love that. read more

When we visit the Jack London Square Farmer's Market in Oakland on Sunday we always buy fish from Anna's Seafood. The king salmon is the best, it has a nice fat ratio (omega-3, the good stuff) that keeps it moist when you cook it. The smoked salmon, which I believe is made from the same type of salmon, is the best ever! Smoky, not salty, moist and full of flavor. I warm it up to room temp and use it as a spread on bread, bagels and/or crackers. read more

I really like this place, it's expanding and have a large variety of seafood. The one feedback I have is they should label the fish. I ended bringing home cod fish instead of halibut! (Paid halibut price!). Was disappointed with my dinner tonite cause of that. read more

I go to the Kensington farmers market almost every Sunday and never bought anything from this vendor. However, last Sunday I decided to get their trout and OMG I cooked it that same day and it's the best trout I've ever have! Now I go to the Kensington farmers market just to get seafood from Anna's!
