As I walked in to this new old place a familiar vibe took over and I was back to the good old days like at Annie's in Lake Elsinore. The place is jammed packed with customers waiting patiently talking amongst each other. You know your at the hot spot when people are willing to wait a bit to eat. I'm watching how the staff works together to get things done and keep everything and everyone moving. As we get seated we we hear the music start playing. ANNIE'S traditions of welcoming guest is still alive. It wouldn't be the same if Jan didn't jump in and dance too. Talk about reviving and giving this place her special touch, its just what it needed. The difference is very noticable from a couple a months ago it's safe to say she brought it back to the good ole Annie's feel. I missed that feeling where your welcomed with smiles, open arms and jokes. The food was perfect and the service now is as it once was. In with the old out with the new that's what seems to have worked here. I'll be making the trip now that I know I'll find a place for me where everyone takes the time to know my name. From the first time I came to this cafe I fell in love. It has a fun and happy environment, great menu with great prices, owner/manager is delightful to watch going from one table to another with a pot of coffee asking if everything is alright. Love that they have music play every 15 minutes and the servers line dance. They make your birthday special by wearing a silly hat and make everyone sing happy birthday to you. Last time I was there I took my friend and she loved it. Love the British style decor too. Since I'm always on a special diet I was able to find something healthy from the menu, and that is the most important to me. Plus, I've been in the restaurant business for 17 years, so I know what customers look for in a good diner and this one is a good diner. We are Temecula locals but I had never been to Annie's. Took my daughter today for her 6th birthday and WOW!!!!! We loved it!!! Great food at great prices. After two recent visits on both a Saturday and Sunday morning, I can definitely say that Annie's is no joke! The first time was with 5 people and we got seated within 10 minutes with Alana, who was friendly and had a great personality. No issues there, ordered a chorizo/beans/hash browns plate that was super tasty. Prices are pretty comparable to Moe's and IHOP, but I think what sets Annie's apart is how fast the food comes out! Our group of 16 all got their food under 10 minutes! The most obvious difference of course is the dancing the employees do throughout the morning, Annie included if she's there... If you like a little more variety, my boyfriend has tried the breakfast burrito (comes with salsa) and he loved it. Also... big bonus: THEY HAVE CHOLULA! Lots of breakfast places look at me super weird when I ask for this. This is usually my mark for a great breakfast spot. A few interesting quirks about this place: 1. If you say it's your first time here, they'll announce it to the whole diner, and make you wear some funny hats. Haha. 2. The waiters, waitresses, and buss boys randomly break into dance sporadically throughout your meal. A song will come on and suddenly they're performing a choreographed dance in front of you. Description: Annie's Café is a restaurant that I had heard about from some locals as a place that would surprise me. This could not have been more true! I love a place with a good breakfast, so I am always on the lookout for a restaurant that offers a good omelet. To celebrate my friend's birthday, I wanted to choose a diner that was different and yet offered great food. Annie's fit the bill perfectly! Location: The restaurant is located in between the town of Murrieta and Temecula on Jefferson. The nearest freeway (15) exit is Winchester - turn right on Jefferson and the restaurant is located on the left. You will see an old red phone booth that decorates the outside to create the nostalgic essence of this café. It is in a semi-business area, so don't be deterred by the odd location, it is worth it! Décor: The cafe definitely reflects a nostalgic feeling of the 50-60's. Decorated in warm tones it reminds me of a by gone era and you feel that you have traveled back in time, think "Back to the Future". There is a soda fountain with stool seating, comfortable booths as well as tables with chairs. The best word to describe it would be comforting. Menu: The menu has an extensive variety. My friend ordered the French toast combo with eggs and bacon. I ordered an egg white omelet w/bacon (please, no judgement, I know this is an oxymoron), avocado, spinach, and mushrooms. My breakfast also came with home style potatoes and thick sliced fresh wheat bread (love the thick bread). I would recommend these selections as it was all great, especially the bacon! The only suggestion here would be for them to create their own homemade jams and jellies. With such good bread it deserves a special topping instead of the pre-packaged small goofy jams and jellies. Service: This where you need a couple of paragraphs to really capture the level of service. This restaurant excels in service. Pam and Oscar waited on us and were a notch above! The surprise (and it was) is that if you are a first time customer, they make you wear a very silly hat. I was willing to put on the hat, even though flat head is so not my thing. My poor friend had to wear a special birthday hat, she reminded me that she was doing this for me (lol). However, let it go...and enjoy...this is just fun stuff. I was impressed with both of our servers, and Oscar especially was very gracious in answering all my questions about the restaurant and the owners. He is quite an asset to this restaurant. The other servers perform about every 30 minutes and do a little practiced dance to music near the soda fountain area. My friend and I did not know about this entertainment, and it was a special treat! If you are a grumpy person, you may not like it. However, be ready to smile and sit back and enjoy...this is really fun stuff. Final Thoughts: I was tickled and sincerely pleased by the owners designing and creating a fun place that has a quality breakfast fare. It is wonderful to see the owners (two sisters/son that own restaurants in Murrieta and Lake Elsinore) create such an innovative take on the small town café restaurant. Definitely try it if you are in the neighborhood...or even make a special trip to come, it is worth it! Cheery-O! We love the Lake Elsinore location so we were tickled to find out they opened a place here in Temecula! This place is awesome! The food is delicious and fresh. The service is on point and the decor is quirky cool British chic. I ordered the veggie burger with mushrooms and grilled onions with a side of fresh fruit.and unsweetened iced tea, my hubby ordered the Daily Special breakfast. The burger is divine! I adore the flavor of the grilled mushrooms and onion..yummy! The portions are ample so bring your appetite! This is one of those places that has a cute merchandise corner that actually looks appealing enough to buy! I want a shirt and water bottle! Muy husband's meal was fantastic. He's a big guy so the portion was just right for him. As usual the food was cooked to perfection. Our waiter, young guy with English accent was attentive and brought out the food hot and ready and made sure to check in on us regularly. There isn't anything to dislike at Annie's.
