Our experience with Ann was not good! She came to look at our dryer and said she had the parts, wouldn't charge a trip fee and it was no problem. When she arrived I had the back of the dryer already opened up for her as I had already diagnosed several things myself (thanks YouTube!). She didn't check any of those things and instead told me to put it back together. She then took 2 screws off the front of the washer and said "this ain't worth it" and that these new machines are too complicated to work. Then she left. DO NOT HIRE THIS WOMAN! I cannot stress this enough. We're considering taking her to small claims court for putting my family in danger. I contacted Ann to fix our broken oven, which was taking an hour to preheat. Ann was at my house for about 10 minutes, told me everything was fine with the oven, and that I had an electrical problem. So, I paid her the $125 and she left. The next week, I hired an electrician for $300. He physically showed me the voltage was correct and insisted it was an issue with the oven. When I reached out to Ann, she was aggressive and difficult. Eventually, she agreed to come back over again. When she arrived, we were already preheating the oven. She stayed for about 45 before informing us there was nothing she could do. Two weeks later I hired another appliance person to investigate the problem. Within a few minutes, the repairman discovered a huge issue with the oven and urged us to unplug it until it was fixed or replaced. Evidently, it could have started a fire. So, Ann's incompetency could have actually killed my family and burned down my home. When I told her what I learned she didn't even bother to reply. read more

This is the first negative review I've ever left on Yelp. TL;DR version: I hired Ann to fix my stove. She charged $400 and replaced a bent valve. She said the stove was "all good." In fact, the stove was still dangerously leaking gas when she left! (Which she would have known, if she'd had the proper equipment -- a gas sniffer.) Ann then washed her hands of the situation: "I don't know what to say about it...I recommend replacing the entire unit." Additional details: --Because the stove was unusable and would require additional repair, I asked Ann for a refund. She refused. Then I offered to pay for valve she installed (~$200), and asked if she would refund her labor charge (~$200). She didn't even respond. --To give you a sense of Ann's personality: Immediately after she did her repair, she called me. My phone was on silent because I was at lunch. She then texted me: "I need credit card." [1:38pm] "Hello call me." [1:40pm] Then [1:43pm] she called me again (!!) And she left a VM in an accusatory tone: "Why are you not picking up the phone and paying your bill?" Yes, I still have the VM saved -- see screenshots. When I called her back, later that afternoon, the first words out of her mouth were: "Are you calling to pay your debt?"   (Not, "Hello, here's what I did..." ) I think she was so aggressive about collecting payment because part of her realized she hadn't fixed the stove. I made the mistake of paying her that day. Within a few hours, my tenants realized the stove was still leaking gas. Updates: Ann now claims she "did the job she was hired to do." That is revisionist history. My stove was broken, and I hired her to fix it. Just like any normal person with a broken stove would do. I definitely did *not* tell her to replace one part, charge me $400, and leave me with an unusable stove that was still leaking gas. Anyway, I'm done with this. I'll probably never see that $400 again. I disputed the charge with my CC, but disputes like this are hard to win. She showed up without the needed tools and proceeded to ask to use our tools, and then she couldn't get the piece off she was trying to remove to check the part she thought needed to be replaced. We were able to locate a replacement part on line, but were unsure if this was going to be the solution based on her diagnostics and inability to actually get to the part using my tools. Anne broke the glass on my oven door trying to move the unit out. She then left my home with broken glass all over house with two little kids walking around! Complete lack of customer service skills, rude behavior. I understand accidents happen, and people are human and have bad days but this does not forgive her super rude behavior or the fact that she left broken glass on multiple occasions in our home! (coming and going with broken glass on separate days.) While she did apologize for the accident - it felt like lip service. I am not out to ruin anyone's lively hood, but buyer beware, Anne has been a "repairman" for just 5 years ( I asked her) and it shows... She was way in over head in trying to fix my Induction stove... I asked Anne before she ever came out if she is knowledgeable in fixing Induction stoves and her rather abrupt reply "yeah I went to school" After bringing back a new door (which she never put back on properly) she abandoned the greater repair which was a faulty IPS system in the induction system. She follows a Comcast repair like schedule - She communicated she will be there at one time, and then she showed up an hour late on several occasions...not helpful for families with kids that have tight schedules. read more

She charged us $270 to make the problem worse and then blame us for having an "old" dryer. I was excited to hire this Repair person because she had so many great reviews. She was hired to fix a squealing in our dryer . Unfortunately I did not experience the greatness. She had scheduled us on a Saturday. When she arrives she begins working on the dryer. She came with parts that she assumed we needed and began the repair before even diagnosing the problem. When she was done with the repair, we turned on the dryer and the squealing continued. She said it will eventually go away. It did not go away. She drew up the invoice for $270 including the diagnostic trip, labour and parts (that she ordered before diagnosing the problem) and shipping. As the dryer kept squealing she said "I will come back on Wednesday, I am just too tired to take that thing apart again." During the repair, she said repeatedly that she doesn't work on Saturday's. I didnt ask for her to come on Saturday, she offered. She asked me if I could pay her and I did so reluctantly. That evening the sound elevated from a squeak to a dying cat! I sent her a video of the sound. She listened to it the next morning and committed to fixing it. She came back on Wednesday. She cleaned the rollers at no extra charge (she mentioned this as if doing us a favor). Again the squealing continued! I sent her another video and she claimed to not hearing it. After back and forth, she told us that its an old dryer and there would be noise. I agreed there are noises but not squealing pig sounds. Because of her inability to admit she failed in fixing our dryer for which we paid her $270 (I know, My fault), she offered again to come back but that it would cost us $100 for more parts. I told her not thanks, we would fix it some other way. Today, we changed out a roller using a how to video from Appliance Parts Pros and the dryer is silent and smooth. And we paid $32.00. While Ann may try to argue that she did her job, she did not. A simple google search shows the main reason for a squeaking dryer is the rollers, and yet it took the second visit for her to even consider cleaning them after she replaced parts that dis not need replacing. Do NOT hire this person unless you want to be ripped off. We consulted another repair person who could hear the squeak (it is quite obvious and annoying to anyone, even me, someone who has hearing problems) and he offered to fix it. He also said, "you have already been taken for a ride, and this is an easy repair." He sent us the How To video and yes, it was an easy repair. It only required one wheel change. I would rather pay what I paid for one wheel than to ever hire Ann again. read more

What a fantastic experience - and yes, it's not lost on me that I'm saying that about a clothes washer repair! Ann promptly responded to my email outreach, offering to come out the next day and inquiring about the specific appliance that was broken (to be prepared). She arrived on time - at a specific time, not a half day window - and was very friendly and knowledgeable. While she was diagnosing the issue, she talked me through how washers work and common challenges/fixes, which both built my trust in her skills, but also made me better able to trouble shoot future issues. We contacted Ann when our dryer quit working. We had a pile of laundry to get done and Ann came out the next morning (on a Saturday!) to get started. When she assessed the problem in person, the fix was more involved than she anticipated so she went back out immediately to get additional parts. She persevered as the fix was not easy. After about 3.5 hours, she left with our dryer in perfect working condition. She is such a hard worker and she even texted the next morning to ask if it was still working okay. She takes great pride in her work! We also loved having a woman come to our house to do this repair as we are raising two young girls. Last week my oven broke. Fine in the morning for breakfast pizza, but later it didn't ignite. I'm not without some handy skills, so I went in and diagnosed the problem, and ordered the necessary part. Then when I dug deeper I found that fixing the problem would be a little more than I felt comfortable with. (Like the time I discovered I couldn't remove the starter from my car's engine compartment without first taking out the engine, or pulling the axle apart. But that's a revue for a different day.) So, there I was with what I thought was the right part, with the right problem, and too many wires to be comfortable. So I called around. But being Saturday no body answered, one place even sent me down a phone tree and hung up before I could leave any info. Then I called Ms. Ann and left a message. Being Saturday, and the day having gone the way it had I didn't expect to hear anything until Monday. But she called back within the hour. Asked me what kind of oven. I said I had the part, and told her what I thought was the problem. She said she could be there Friday. I thought, "It's summer, how much baking am I gonna do?" Then she asked where I was, and said she might have time on Tuesday. I said, "Great." Tuesday came, she texted when she was 30 minutes out. She showed up on time, came in and was respectful of social distancing, and wore a mask. Took a look at the oven, and confirmed my diagnosis (which is always gratifying, when a professional confirms my deduction.) She knew her way around the oven, and was done in less than 30 minutes. And now my oven gets hot! Which is the whole point of an oven! tl;dr Ann's great, and I won't hesitate to call her again. Ann was great! My dryer stopped drying clothes, so I called Ann. I described my issue, and she gave me a few tips to try to fix the issue myself. She didn't want me to have to pay her fee to come out for something simple - so already a great start! Once we determined that the issue was more complex, we set up an appointment. She gave me a heads up when she was headed over (so I didn't have to wait at home in a time window), and was able to diagnose and fix the issue within an hour (the issue was that a very odd location of the dryer had been clogged with lint). Several months ago, we hired Ann to come fix a problem with our refrigerator. She listened to our description of the problem over the phone. Then she scheduled an onsite visit to diagnose and repair. In the interim, Ann researched the problem pertaining to our specific model of refrigerator. She ordered the replacement part. She brought that part with her when she arrived. Her diagnosis confirmed the known-issue and she got right to work replacing the part. Done. She was gone in short order and our refrigerator was no longer leaking water.
