There are a lot of things in Laramie that have become "institutions" for lack of a better word. Places that have become "tradition" so to say and have an established reputation in the community. Examples are Bernie's and Anong's. Unfortunately, not all traditions are what they are cracked out to be. Anongs is ok. But it's pricey and really not the greatest thai food. Service is great and the decor is colorful. But it is just not the greatest especially now that there is competition. read more

Have only been twice - to the Sunday buffet so I can sample things. Flavorful and warm both times. Nice decor, open and clean and great view of train and the downtown. Thai iced teas are prepared well. Need Timorese off menu because I'm sure it's as good if not better than the Sunday buffet offerings. read more

The food quality is ok. The quantity of food served is way too much. I'd prefer Thai Spice on 3rd and Ivinson over this any day.

We've been on the road for a week, eating in diners and Western/Cowboy establishments...of which there are plenty in Laramie. This was a wonderful change of pace. Modern but elegant decor, and prompt and friendly service. We had the Egg Rolls (thin and crispy wrappers), Summer Rolls (soft spring rolls, generously "stuffed"), and Chicken Larb (refreshing chicken salad, with just the right amount of lime and hot pepper flavors). We finished off with the Lava Cake - very rich chocolate with a molten center - nicely balanced with green tea ice cream. We're only sorry we can't stay in town long enough to have dinner! read more

We were seated right away. The waitress brought out a complimentary small bowl of hot egg drop soup. The food came out incredibly fast. The tom ka was perfect with just the right amount of heat. It came in a clay pot that kept it warm. The Pad Thai was average, felt like something was missing. Better than we expected. read more

My husband and I absolutely love this place. We are both from metropolitan areas, and we still think that Anongs is amazing, especially for a small town. I've lived in Laramie for over a year now, and I still go there very often. Pad Thai, all curries, Kee Mao with beef, and steamed pot stickers are our favorite dishes. Service is fantastic, and your food arrives stunningly fast. Portions are huge and there is always plenty of food leftover. We recommend this place to everyone. read more

The word to describe the performance of this restaurant is solid. I had the fried rice which was sweet and fragrant and won't disappoint, however what truly shined for me was the Panang curry. We got stuck in Laramie for a day when the interstate was closed. We were pleasantly surprised with all of the offerings in old downtown Laramie, and we highly recommend driving into town rather than eating on the highway. After a couple days of eating on the road, a well prepared meal at Anong's with fresh veggies was quite welcome. We got a noodle dish and a meat and veggie stir fry, and left very happy! read more

This is a pretty place with great staff and authentic, delicious food. We pass through Laramie on our way to western Wyoming, and first stumbled into Anong four years ago. I was blown away by how good it was. I live in a huge metro area with lots of Thai options, and Anong's food could hold its own with the best of them. This return visit did not disappoint. The Spicy Basil Leaves was heady with aromas, I chose beef. It was full of beautifully cooked vegetables as well as a generous amount of lean, sliced beef. My companion had the Panaang Curry with Shrimp; i could not resist stealing spoonfuls of the sauce from his plate. The heat does not overwhelm the subtler flavors. I wish I lived closer so I could work my way through the menu. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that I am parsimonious with extreme praise. But I would eat here every week if I lived here. read more

I had the Nam Tok Beef and it was incredible! My wife had Panang Curry with chicken and that was excellent as well. But the real star was the spicy fried rice. I thought I knew all there was to know about fried rice but Anongs proved me wrong. This place is terrific! read more

Food is okay. Needs to improve the service. Once the order has been made it becomes really hard to get the attention of the waiters.

Great place. A little expensive but the portions are about big enough for two. The lunch buffet is an awesome deal!

I really like Anongs. The service is always good and I've enjoyed all the dishes I have tried. I'd recommend the Nam Tok Beef or the Broccoli entree; both have good flavor. Whether you eat in or have take out, Anongs is always prompt. read more

Enjoyed my meal at Anong's. Had the shrimp-papaya salad, which was tasty and basically good --- could've used more fish sauce or dried shrimps, and some more heat, cutting them back is probably a concession to the local palate. Anong's in Rawlins was closed for afternoon break, so we stopped here. The vegetarian dishes were good and the left-overs the next day were even more delish. We haven't stopped in Laramie before, what a nice surprise downtown is. read more

This place seemed to skimp on everything! I ordered one of their "chef's specials" which was supposed to be a "Shrimp and Papaya Salad." Not impressed. The dressing didn't have the usual zingy Thai fish sauce. There were only three smallish shrimp in the whole salad, even though "shrimp" was the headline item. I left hungry. My dining companion also was not satisfied with the portion size, especially because the prices were high. There was really only one waitress covering the whole dining room. And they didn't take American Express, the way any good restaurant should. The other Thai place in Laramie is much better. Go there instead. read more

Before I tried Anong's I used to hate Thai food, all the places I have tried were just not good. But Anong's will always be my favorite place to eat in Laramie. They have an amazing lunch buffet which I would highly recommend, and they are especially great for takeout. read more

Anong's is extremely mediocre and well-overpriced (~10-20%) compared to market rates in larger cities. The food tastes as if it was prepared earlier in the day and reheated after assembly (I'm guessing this occurs because a lot of the dishes have the same ingredients). Compared to the approximately 20 other Thai restaurants I have eaten at, Anong's falls below average in quality. Unfortunately, the novelty of being the only Thai place in town gives Anong's an allure that it does not deserve. read more

I was in Laramie for a marathon - usually I have some sort of an Asian dish as my carbo-load. This was the only place I found - we didn't expect much but to our surprise, the food was awesome. Flavors are great and very spot on authentic. The service was pretty good too. They were very attentive and fast. If I ever make it back to Laramie, I will definitely dine here again. Finally made it to an Anong's Restaurant in Laramie, Wyoming. This downtown location is in a great old building with high ceilings and a neat gold leaf ceiling with chandelier's! The restaurant is clean and neat and the worker's are friendly and attentive. I had the Pad Thai with Shrimp and it was a huge portion for lunch. The shrimp would be categorized as Jumbo shrimp if you were buying them at the grocery store. I think there were 6 or 7 of them on my plate. The noodles were perfectly cooked and so were the shrimp. The sauce was also perfect with great flavor. It was sprinkled with crushed nuts and sprouts for just the right taste. I squeezed the lime wedge all over it for a little tang. I would highly recommend this place and this dish for any Thai or Pad Thai lovers passing this way on I-80!!! Chuck French read more

Pretty good when in the mood for this type of food. I have been to the one in Rawlins a few times as well....pretty consistent.

Although some of the food in this restaurant is good, they are seriously lacking in the spicy department!! Twice I have ordered curry here and it has not been made right either time. I asked for it extra hot and didn't even get hot! The only good thing is that at least you can get Thai food in Laramie, but I would rather go down to Denver or Fort Collins and be happy with what I get. read more

I am positive that the food is awesome by all the raving reviews here, alas we couldn't even get in the door. My family took a day trip up to Laramie and had picked out Anongs as our dinner choice Late in the day around four I thought I'd better call to see what their hours were since it was a Sunday. I was pleased that the friendly gentleman on the phone said, until 9:30 (p.m.) We swung by shortly after 5 and the sign said closed and that they were closed on Sundays. Huh? I don't understand why the guy even answered the phone on a day they were closed and then answered my question... "How late are you open until?, then saying...until 9:30?" Of course my assumption is that he knew I was speaking of the very day I was calling. Anyway, we sure will try to eat here the next time we're in town, but it kind of blew my day because I was excited to end off the day with the great food there. I have a question, since I'm new to Yelp, In the information section of the restaurant postings do they list hours and days of the week the business is in operation? That would be REALLY helpful. We looked around for another place, Sweet mellissa was right around the corner (great reviews) but also CLOSED on Sunday. As a matter of fact most of that downtown area on a Sunday evening was a barren wasteland. Such a bummer when we really wanted a good meal. read more
